  I love this program and want to continue using it. I upgraded my old computer from 98 to XP, and it ran very well! I had to get a new computer and'm running XP Professional. The program loaded fine but whenever I try to put in place a project or just image, it stops working! Have found several articles on the downloadint files to fix (PI19299.exe, as well as the Ko scid EN US 316861). Tried to download the two and apparently neither one is now available. Please help me. I can't find other programs that will allow me to do what PIcture It will make! Can't believe there is no way to fix it. Why in the world MS would not continue to let people to run this program?   Picture it! premium photo 9 crashed on me while I was editing and upload a photo on the internet (not sure exactly what I was doing the exact minute it crashed).  So I uninstalled and reinstalled.  However, now when I try to open it I get this message:

  OK I fixed it.  I did another restore point but I don't remember how long I had to go back.  So what I did instead.  I uninstalled it again.  But this time I used the registry CCleaner cleaner afterwards to get rid of everything that is hung after the uninstall - and of course I backed up just in case.  Then I rebooted.  Then I reinstalled and it worked this time.  Not really sure what happened, but my scans my system is clean.  So I wonder if after the first uninstalled there was something in the registry.  In any case, thanks to John.

  Tried several times for 2 or 3 days...

  o here are the steps I took... which I think should work:

  (1) go to the Microsoft Download Center:http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/en/default.aspx
  (2) look for each update code that begins with the letters "KB" and followed by a set of numbers (i.e. KB974234)
  3) click on the link for the download and then click on download and run. I think you have to accept an agreement, then click on continue or OK
  4) repeat for all downloads that you can not install
  (5) run Microsoft Update new and click search the updates and if updates have been installed successfully, they should no longer appear in the updates that must be installed.

  I don't know if it is not relevant or if it helped me succeed to install updates manually, but before I manually installed my updates I followed the instructions David_O posted under this threadhttp://social.answers.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/vistawu/thread/f3390e74-9961-4aae-8a05-554c1a9cf1a2?prof=required&lc=1033 . I suggest that first of all try to download manually by following my directions.   Don't forget that your left folder tree is set to 'tree' (the little menu icon on the right of the title bar).

  Click on the + sign to the left of the main folder to display subfolders with images.

  If you want to see the subfolders without all the media files, select the master folder and right click, then choose the last option to display all of the subfolders.

  Another option, you should consider is changing the Render item column to reflect that the value is greater than the specified maximum value.

  I you LIKE Microsoft Picture it!.  There is no other product out there that allows you to edit, crop, to improve your photos and make a variety of products such as cards, flyers, ads, etc.

  But I bought a new computer and it came with Windows 7.  I installed the program, but it will not be open upwards.  Says "he has experience an error and windows will shut down and seek a solution for the error.  I think that perhaps the program is not compatible with Windows 7.

  If this is not the case, check with the program manufacturer if they have updates or fixes for the software.
