arrays, structures for reports

I'm about to start draft reports
For querying the DB and a page display, output
I was told that tables, structures are useful for these projects.

I'm a white belt in CF and Web stuff.
Someone at the meeting mentioned to me to use
Tables
Works of art
In my reports.

TABLES
· How can I use tables to put out a query oracle HTML documents?

· How is it useful to display output (database)?

In addition,

· What is the difference between 1 dimensional arrays to 2 Dimensions vs?

· Cfdump? Should I use?
WORKS OF ART
How to use Structures of this type of projects? With arrays

Thank you very much

As a first step, you can try using the main KISS (Keep it Simple S__).

Most of the reports is possible with SQL selects front right and fields that appear in the Report Builder or a typical page.

Also, because the reports are usually printed for future reference of the number of required fields is minimal. A report printed in landscape can display only about 8 fields without on the tower that occur.

I have a report that prints the data with bar code on the detail rows in a report. It uses the Java LinearBarcode.jar by Idautomation package for this purpose. The Java package contains an encoder that returns a bar code in the form of a GIF image to a field on the report. One of the arguments that it requires is a name of temporary file generated by srw.create_temporary_filename (). When it works perfectly, and it creates the temporary image file in my folder tree 'House' (C:\Users\ < username > \AppData\Local\Temp) run under the report generator. When I run this report generator with fast running behind her I can watch the report search, open, read and close this file LinearBarcode.jar several times for successive lines of the report. Everything seems to be very good in the generator.

The fun begins when I try to call the same report from a FORM (Form Builder fleeing), where he fails every time, somewhere in the image generation stage. In my view, that it fails to the creation of the image itself, when he tries to open the file for writing temporary image. I can find the empty temporary files left after the report runs and fails, but the size of the file is zero byte. When I run this report of my test form with Microsoft quick run behind it I see the report search, open, read and close this file LinearBarcode.jar for the first line of data in the report, then the report fails. So, I know that the .jar file and the required REPORTS_CLASSPATH/CLASSPATH entries are synchronized with the location of the .jar file. The report runs, and he finds the LinearBarcode.jar, it opens, it reads and closes it. What I do is to not see any activity related to the image itself temporary file. Thus, failure at least gives the impression of being in the image create step itself, which makes me doubt the safety of Java. However, there is no message popup on Java security problems.

I tried implementing Trace for reports, but also, that does not give something of use, except to confirm that the report is certainly a failure in the creation of barcode code somewhere. This is known from the error message in the log file: fatal error REP-1401 < barcode create procedure name >

I'm guessing that he might be a missing 'writing' somewhere authorization prevent the creation of the temporary file used to generate the barcode image file. This error only occurs under Java (run from a form). I was not able to find something about it by reading everything I could find on the OracleBarcode.jar demo. I also not found anything in Google searches that does not count.

Are special permissions to allow these operations to temporary file as shown above? If Yes, where and how are they set? If this isn't the case, else anyone seen this issue before?

    Thanks in advance

Resolved: This issue had nothing to do with the creation of barcodes. It turns out that there is a field in the State who had no defined source. It was not rendered because it was hidden by a format trigger. It seems that this case is handled by the constructor, but blew the engine in the reporting process used when a report is called by the forms. It took a long process of elimination, elimination of triggers, fields, parameters, and even the generation of bar code code until I found it.

    Thank you

  • Someone in this forum the EnterpriseTrack directly for reporting database access?

We have difficulties to access the fields of the EnterpriseTrack database. Fields are entered through our workflow process, but are not available on all reports or dashboards. We are considering the use of a tool for reporting on the database to access the data. User documentation indicates that access is available through JDBC.

Answer please if you have experience with this kind of access.

We are working on a number of solutions of reporting for future releases. Your request does not fall on the deaf ears, as everyone wants solutions more. Currently, in order to create pluggable reports, you must have access to the base application and the data layer. Only a few people have this access. Just like your thought above, we look at the external BI options which should have access to all data.

  • Possible values range Setup for essbase for reports substitution variables

    Hi all

I tried to define a substitution variable that holds the current month and the previous in current year called curryrmnths. For example, the current month is March, the value of the variable must be Jan, Feb, Mar.

I am trying to use this variable for reports in order to make dynamic reports, instead of manually enetering the new month each time. (We use the reports financial hyperion).

    I tried different syntaxes like,

    Jan: Mar
    Jan, Feb, Mar
    "Jan, Feb, Mar.

But none seems not to work, they arise while setting in the reports.

Can anyone suggest a solution? How a range of values is dynamically adjustable in a report?

Catalina, the fields of the assessment filter is not available in reports. I suggest using a custom drop-down list, or among indexed lists. If this is going to be a key field you want to filter in reports, I suggest a list of indexed choices.

  • The most effective way to the U16-> U32 Array pack for DMA data transfer?

I have a RT controller who wants to send data to an FPGA using DMA. In LabVIEW 8.2, I have no choice but to switch to the low blocks of data however U32 my my input data is an array of U16. This leaves me two choices: 1) wire U16 table directly into the DMA node that will be rude to U32 but I lose 16 bit * #of table 2) Pack the U16 elements in a U32 table before sending it to the bottom. I have #2 and I have a method that works (and seems to be quite effective) but I have the feeling that I'm doing the hard (or roundabout way). Is their a simpler (but equally effective) way to do this procedure? Thank you

Here's a solution that swaps the bytes and key elements the same. There are several ways to do so.

(for efficiency, you can place the table 'remodel' inside a case structure then, it happens only if necessary)

  • What is the proper structure for sendDocument API call with multiple files?

Hello - the SOAP API documentation, you can send several names of template files to be merged into a single pdf file that will be sent for signature:

    fileInfos

    -FileInfo]

-A list of one or more files (or references to files) which is sent for signature. If more than one file is provided, they will be grouped into a single PDF before being shipped.

What is the appropriate structure to send merged files? I can't tell if the fileInfos is a multiple child node of FileInfo, or if one child of FileInfo must contain an array of strings libraryDocumentName.

    THX

Figured it out! fileInfos should have multiple children of FileInfo, each with their own chains of libraryDocumentName:

    fileInfos

    -FileInfo

    -libraryDocumentName

    -FileInfo

    -libraryDocumentName

    etc.

  • Where should I place a SWC file that describes a complex structure for a web service?

    Hello!

I am creating a web service in ColdFusion 9, which returns a complex structure or has a complex argument. I'm placing the .cfc file that describes the structure in the same directory as the .cfc which uses the structure. Right now just trying to get a wsdl.

I have currently two functions in my .cfc, first returns a string. The other ideally returns an array of strings. Saying returntype = "String()" gives an error that ColdFusion could analyze no chain

So I tried to make a type defined by the individual item being a string:

    < cfproperty >
< cfcomponent name = "Info source" type = "string" >

    < / cffunction >

    < cffunction name = "getInfoSources" access returntype = "at distance" = "InfoSources []" >
    < / cffunction >

We work collaboratively with another company that makes the front-end server, by using the web service, so I need the wsdl show the kind of real data, not just "any", that is using what is 'array'.

If I use your code (add a name for the echoStatus argument), I get

How can I tell it a table of _strings_ specifically?

ColdFusion is loosely typed, so I wonder if we can be so specific in the type of data, without resorting to Java for example. But then again, you will meet soon all sorts of complications. A ColdFusion array and an array of java are 2 totally different things. Run the following code and you'll see why

    #testArray.getClass () .getName () #.

in any case, because the strings are is a subset of the type 'all', your service includes also the case where an array of strings is returned.

  • Best structure for a master/detail relationship?

    Hello

I would like to get some expert advice on the best architecture Oracle 11 g for a fairly simple storage situation: I have a table in a data warehouse with millions of records added every day. Each record can be associated with a (99.9% of the cases) or, more rarely, many under folders (up to 3 or 4).

    (1) the natural relational approach would require a relationship of the master / detail, with a key shared between the two tables. Some questions in the case:
-Here, what would be the best structure? Because its lines are going to be quite small, the child table should probably be a table index. But consider a cluster?
-Also what key will be used in the relationship? Master records are never accessible using full table scan, so that they have no primary key or an index. Is it possible to avoid creating a surrogate key only for reasons to join the master and detail tables, for example, by using a rowid any?

    (2) another reasonable approach, it seems, would be to use a nested table structure to store the detail records.
-Is an interesting solution? It seems that he avoids the need for a surrogate key and looks "natural way" of doing things. But generally people seem not very keen on this feature, perhaps because of the lack of knowledge?
-In this case, would it still possible to scan detailed records using pure SQL, as you would with a join in case 1?

    (3) although I have not yet studied the pb in detail, it seems that the right tools to populate two tables at the same time external tables would be to use PIPELINE and PL/SQL FORALL constructs, can anyone confirm?

    Thanks for your help,
    Chris

In an environment of DW, things are generally modeled according to the fact dimension. The fact table would hold everything 'measurable' is a fact (in your case a call). It would be things like the date and time of the call, duration, charges total, possibly local/long distance/overseas etc. The dimension tables would provide additional information to the call and solve research etc. For example, you might have a date dimension which had every day, the year, month, day of the year, quarter, fiscal quarter (in my organization, they differ and we report both for different reasons) etc. You have also a time dimension indicating if the time if the call was during the day, evening, night, etc., depending on how you define them.

Of course, all of this really depends on the types of questions you want to ask questions about the data you have.

I'd be inclined to model along the lines of (note I guess anum and bnum are something like departure and destination phone numbers):

    CREATE TABLE calls (
Call_Id INTEGER PRIMARY KEY, -- this comes from a sequence
       Anum_key NUMBER REFERENCES call_numbers,
       Bnum_key NUMBER REFERENCES call_numbers,
       charging_key NUMBER REFERENCES charging
       Duration NUMBER,
       charge NUMBER,
       call_count   NUMBER);

    CREATE TABLE call_numbers (
       number_key INTEGER PRIMARY KEY,
       phone_number VARCHAR2(50),
       area_code? VARCHAR2(50),
       country_code? VARCHAR2(50));

    CREATE TABLE charging (
charging_key INTEGER NOT NULL CHECK (counter BETWEEN 1 AND 19 or counter = -1),
       counter_description  VARCHAR2(50));

with a line of calls for each combination of meter that must be loaded. The ETL code would assing a call unloaded (i.e. your first scenario a charge_key-1), and depending on how you want to count calls, 1 or 0 for call_count. For your second scenario, County of appeal would be 1 for the single record for this call. For the third scenario I would, more or less arbitrarily (i.e., max or min amount/meter) assign 1 in one of the recordings and 0 for the rest (which implies that even if the cost of a call to several counters, it's still only 1 call).
Thus, in light of your three specimen he would look like:

    calls

So, how many call where there?

SELECT SUM(call_count) FROM calls WHERE ...

    How much do we chanrge?

SELECT SUM(charge_amt) FROM calls WHERE ...

    How long they spoke?

    SELECT SUM(duration) FROM calls WHERE call_count = 1 and ...

How much we took in counter 6:

    SELECT SUM(charge_amt) FROM calls WHERE charging_key = 6 and...

How long was the 6 meter?

    SELECT SUM(duration) FROM calls WHERE charging_key = 6 and ...

As I said before, I'm not really fan of tables nested in the columns. :-)
