  Hi all -

  I would use javascript to "hide" my Livecycle Designer form on open if a password for the pdf file is NOT present.  (If someone removes the password, at least I can do more boring for them.)

  I understand that if javascript is not enabled on the side of the end user, the PDF will always be visible.  But that's ok.  The PDF is heavy javascript and can only be used if javascript is enabled.

  I had some success, I think (lol), with "securityHandler".

  If I add a password in the LCD screen to the form, and then open it with Acrobat, I can use the Console window and type:

  this.securityHandler

  The return is "Standard".

  If no password is added to the LCD of the shape, and then I open it with Acrobat, using the Console window and typing:

  this.securityHandler

  The back is 'null '.

  So we have two different values, we could use to determine whether or not a password is on the PDF.

  But I think I'm getting caught upward trying to write code to refer to the value of securityHandler.  Documentation, seems to indicate that securityHandler is in Acrobat and the LCD screen.

  Something like:

  var a = this.securityHandler;

  If (a == 'Standard') {}

  xfa.host.messageBox ("it is a password of a certain type on this PDF file");

  }

  If (a == null) {}

  xfa.host.messageBox ("no password on this PDF.")

  }

  Any ideas?  I know it's just a bump to someone who took the time to remove the password using the software 3party but why not make a bit more confusing for them, right?

  Just replace this with event.target to run the script from an XFA form.

  Acrobat X (Standard and Pro) will save tabular data in XLS or XLSX format, it can recognize the table as being a table. If the PDF file has missing or incorrect structure tags, Acrobat will try to guess the tabular presentation by the position of the text and lines on the page - this works well for basic formatting, but if the table has a complex style, spans cells etc. it can cause problems.

  Acrobat X will try to export a table in a scanned document, by applying the OCR during the stage of export - yet once this is based on the table identified visually.

  A firewall can cause that.   For example the program tries to link may need to be allowed to pass through.

• How can I change the Format of the Article as a PDF in Folio Builder?

  I had to rebuild my entire Folio since it has been deleted somehow by the producer of Folio. Which is quite annoying - I - I waited too long since the last time I edited it? Was it in the updated online? Because I improved the Builder Version? I have no idea. But I digress...

  I need a PDF rendering because my paper is mostly text and vector. I have create a version 1024 x 768 and it is always great on Retina display.

  When I rebuilt, I inadvertently left the Format as a parameter by default instead of PDF, thinking it was what I did the previous time, and it worked very well. There is no default in PDF format, it is lacking in PNG. Now, I can't seem to find a way to do this anywhere, in the manufacturer or the producer. The only way I can see to do this is to delete all my articles and start again, including all my descriptions, kickers, bylines and thumbnails. And because I have hypertext links, I have to keep the names of the articles right in my report builder. There is a lot of room for mistakes.

  That seems ridiculously trivial. I must be missing something. Someone at - it cues on how to change this easily?

  So, I have bad news for you: you will have to rebuild again.

  Meanwhile, I have a great new for you: there's an online tool made by Johannes Henseler called xml Sidecar which built the necessary xml file for you, sort of what you find in the Web site digital edition Folio, but he recorded in the Folio folder.

  Next time you import all your file (with the file), it will place all of the necessary information and even rearrange the items.

  Build once, play several times.

  If you add a PDF file in the HTMLResources.zip file, creating a button that points to the PDF file allows you to view the PDF in the browser in application. See the number of overlays advanced DPS Tips for instructions and a free app example.

• Share app DPS to the customer (no folio)

  I have a problem - when I need to share my application with a customer - but the question I have is that if I share the folio (to view in Adobe Content Viewer) then I can't turn off the option to zoom in on the content of the PDF.

  Unfortuantly, I found that if the zoom is activated (as is standard) and then the effects of overlay produce weird effects when content is expanded. I really like to share my application with clients - but must be able to send a version that cannot be enlarged. I understand that I can publish the app as a png or jpg, but this seems to cause pixelation to the text on an iPad 3 (new iPad).

  Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.

  If you have an enterprise of DPS and an iOS Developer Enterprise License license, you can create signed company built using DPS App Builder to distribute the application directly to your customer.

  If you do not have two of them, you need to add your UDID iPad client and re-create the MP files then rebuild the Viewer to distribute.

• No success with the installation of the producer of Folio tools

  You probably need to update panel Folio Builder and tools producer Folio.

  Before you continue, it'll be a good idea to ensure that InDesign is updated. Choose Help > updates.

  You need to re - install indesign 2014 to access the folio generator Panel. There has been a lot of changes after the last update.  You can read more here: DPS and InDesign CC 2015

  InDesign CC-2015 does not support the 'old' DPS system.

  And the new 2015 DPS is still ongoing, only available in public beta for InDesign users.

  If Alfonso likes to use the DPS 'old' system, he must return to InDesign CC - 2014.2 or earlier (CS6, CC).

  Have you by any chance also tried Acrobat Pro, have a trial version for 30 days, and it is now out of print? If so, you must uninstall it.
