ASO currency conversion

Hi all

I have totally 14 dimension in the ASO cube

and we have a dimension called currency and USD is the only member.

data that charge us are only in the combination of all the other 13 dimensions and USD (member of level 0).

now, I want to set up or write an mdx formula to implement another currency or currencies.

I can't write a formula because I need to select the Member of Member/measures accont in the smartview.

Members must be written with an mdx formula?

would it be possible to write a formula in the Member... When I select the combination in the smatview it is and must be calculated and display the quantity.

You can create a new Member in the monetary dimension, make dynamic dimension and use a formula to perform your calculations. Essentially - USD * at the base level. HOWEVER, according to the account types you have that can become complicated.

If you are at the level of monthly balance then you will need to do monthly rates and cross with the time_periods dimension dim. If you have balance sheet accounts, then you will need to precisely identify the capital accounts and be able to apply fixed rates to these. In short, according to needs, it can get complicated quickly.

You are free to calculate data in a cube BSO first? And then place over a cube ASO? You can calculate everything in a BSO cube first Level0 and then ship it on aggregated reports.

  • Currency conversions

    Hello

I'm not that experienced in planning multi-currency and so I need help on the implementation of the currency conversion process for our planning multi-currency application. I have both below and your entries in moving more away.

The application was originally set as an application multi currencies, but so far forecasts only was in USD. The default currency is set to USD in our application and is our desired currency.

Now, we have a requirement where we need some of our users in their local currency. Users are three other countries 'A', 'B' and 'C' outside of the USA. Users will be provided in their local currency and the currency conversion process must be the program to install/run in the background to convert the USD currency for purposes of tax.

Can you get it someone please let me know the important steps that I have to do to get there? Also what do I need to keep in mind while doing this process. If someone could share some documents on this subject which could help me to achieve this would be helpful too.

FYI-I see the two dimensions of 'Currency' and 'HSP_Rates' in our application schema, and each of them has the following members.

    HSP_Rates
    HSP_InputValue
    HSP_InputCurrency
    HSP_Rate_USD
    HSP_Rate_A
    HSP_Rate_B
    HSP_rate_C

    Currency
    Local
    USD
    A
    B
    C

Please help with your entries. Any help is appreciated.

    Thank you.

Since you are using application of currency multi planning itself created the script and conversion script copy.

  • Currency conversion

    Hello everyone.

So, I'm on a new effort, learn how to handle the currency conversion. I decided to handle this manually and not through planning. Does anyone have an overview of the tasks at hand? Where to start, and that everything is driven? Examples would be greatly appreciated as well. Thanks in advance!

    -Best regards

Please see the following notes regarding the multi-currency conversion lever. Number 2 is the stage more current that is overlooked.

    1. set up exchange rate tables and enter rates.
2 assign tables exchange rate for the appropriate members of the scenario.
    3. assign the type of appropriate rate (average, thin and historical) to the members of the dimension account.
    4. Enter the base currency appropriate to the members in the dimension marked as the entity dimension.
5 create the currency conversion calc scripts using a refresh.
6 confirm that the rates are in Essbase.
7 run the calculation of hspcrtb.csc/hspcrtt.csc script to push rates on accounts statistics for real accounts. You must run this when rates are entered or modified, when a new account is added or the type of exchange rate is changed for an existing account.
8 run a calculation of currency conversion script to create the reporting currency data.

Also remember that when Exchange rates are pushed to Essbase during the updating process, they are stored in the Essbase application in the intersection below. The key point is that the data is stored in the upper part of the House to some dimensions and if the data storage became an option off store as dynamic Calc and No Store, there is no room for the rate to store.

    Account: Level 0 members (HSP_Historical, HSP_Average, HSP_Ending)
Period: Level 0 members (Jan, Feb,...)
Scenario: Level 0 members (real, Budget,...)
    HSP_Rates: Level 0 members (HSP_Rate_GBP,...)
Currency: The currency Dimension member name
Version: Name of Member of Dimension Version
Entity: Name of Dimension entity member of the
Defined by the user Custom Dimension (s): Dimension member name xxxxx

  • Removal of currency conversion for some accounts

    Hello

I'm working on the Essbase Version 6.2.1.3. I got a new requirement to remove the Conversion of currencies for certain accounts only. I added the category currency to the Parent, IE. Account dimension.

Can you please advice me on how to remove the conversion for only a few accounts... For your information, there is no any country name or name of the currency assigned to the members...

    Kind regards
    UB

I do not use database of currency for the currency conversion. I would like to customize to achieve the required.

Exchange rate depends on the currency, country, scenario, month and year.
In the dimension of accounts, we will define the members where you will store end of month and average rate.
The remaining dimensions have no effect on the exchange rate.
We will load the different exchange rates for different countries, scenarios, month and year and members in default mapping in the other dimensions.

After that we will be tag accounts with Udas dimension members
AVG - average rate should apply.
END - what month end rate should apply.
NO_CONV - to which no conversion should occur.

Once this is done you can just get what you want according to the Uda.

  • Planning of the Currency Conversion account

    Hi all

    We have members of account:

Actual price: enter the value in local currency and

Real price - currency: enter currency type - value local ex: EUR (euro zone), CNY (Chinese Yuan)

Real-USD = the price price should be converted into USD, based on the exchange rate and the type of currency and this account will be used for other calculations of member account.

How can I do this through planning the process of automatic conversion of currencies.

    Kind regards
    Stally.

    Hello Stally,

    This should be simple enough:

Assuming that "Total sales" is in the dimension of accounts and this dimension is dense and there is no entry on this member and you assign dynamic Calc.

Then the hierarchical formula would be:

    IF (@ISMBR ("USD"))

"Total sales" = "sales"->"USD" * "not purchased songs."

    ENDIF

If you need to make this in a calc script or so... and you want the Total sales for USD (why not local currency as well...)

    FIX ("USD")

"Total sales" = "sales"->"USD" * "not purchased songs."

    ENDFIX

    Kind regards

  • BSO in ASO formula Conversion - need help

ASO is not my forte... I'm trying to get a simple formula to work in cube ASO as part of the OSI - & gt; Conversion of the ASO.

If this is the entity of level 0, the formula is (last shipped (PU) * Volume of the part)... works very well.
If its higher level, it should simply add up the values of his children. The OSI equivalent that we use generally is @SUM (@CHILDREN (@CURRMBR("Entity"))).
I tried the same thing in the ASO MDX script as shown below, it is not giving me good result... of ideas why this is not working?

    Thanks in advance.

    Nima

    Formula Member*.

    BOX WHEN ISLEVEL (Entity.CurrentMember, 0) THEN+.
Last shipped (PU) Volume of the part x+.
    Else+.
    Sum (Children (Entity.CurrentMember))+.
    END+.

Have you tried to specify how you want the NAP?

    for example

CASE WHEN ISLEVEL (Entity.CurrentMember, 0) THEN
Last shipped (PU) x Volume of the part
    ON THE OTHER
Sum (Children (Entity.CurrentMember), [measures]. [Part Volume])
    END

also I'm not sure if the SUM is correct. This might work as it certainly specified tuples:

    SUM ({Products.CurrentMember.children}, [Measures]. [Part Volume])

    It will be useful,

  • BSO to ASO formula conversion

    Hi all

I'm new with the ASO MDX formulas and I can't seem to understand the problem here for the help NOT in the formula.

When I use IS in syntax of the formula withdraws, but when I replace it with NOT the slightest mistake what I'm doing wrong here? can someone help me reach this goal

CASE WHEN (IS([scenario]. CurrentMember, [real])) THEN

    ([ACCT1] * [ACCT3]) + [ACCT2]

    END

Basically, with the first line, I'm trying to achieve in OSB is IF (NOT (@ISMBR("Actual"))), but I can't convert that into MDX

Any help will be greatly appreciated and links or documents that you can share for my to improve my skills MDX will also be appreciated

    Thank you

I don't not a ton of experience with MDX, but my understanding is that IT is a function, it returns True or False, but is NOT an operator who basically returns a Boolean value, try using this:

BOX WHEN (IS NOT ([scenario]. CurrentMember, [real])) THEN

    ([ACCT1] * [ACCT3]) + [ACCT2]

    END

There is useful information about MDX in Essbase Technical Reference

    Try something like

    CASE WHEN IS([Year].CurrentMember, [Current]) THEN
    [MCEB] - [Net_In] + [Net_Out]
    ELSE
    [MCEB].lag(1) END

I just wrote this from memory, don't have the time to test at the moment, but should be close.

  • Manuel Conversion monetary vs Multi currency request

    Hello

I was wondering what are the exact changes between the creation of an application as a currency multi early application, be able to enter data in different currencies and running the currency for conversion scripts to display data in the required reporting currency and between creating an application without select the multi currency option and do the necessary conversions at the level of currency dimension and create customized to business rules the necessary conversions.

What is the difference between these 2 options?

    Thank you.

    Hello

with the build-in currency conversion rates are stored in the upper part of the dimensions. I will store them on the artificial limb. Then I can make the only dimension member label and it will be not be combined in a Calc. DIM. This saves time.

Then, there is a standard size on the rate type. Usually, I use another dimension to this.

I can't be generic in my answer, because every application is different. There is no blue print that benefits everyone. There are some concepts, but this goes too far to explain in a forum. This is where conferences like KSCOPE for.
