ASO level 0 member Consolidation ownership issue

Hello

I have a question in the codification of the ASO

I have a dimension in this format

Entity
-100
----------------100-10 (+)
----------------100-20 (~)
----------------100-30 (+)

-200
----------------200-10 (+)
----------------200-20 (~)
----------------200-30 (+)

To provide "~" property of consolidation at a zero level member Aso, I need to implement the storage property parent as label only if I put in place as the label only it does not consolidate other children in this dimension. How should I deal with this issue

Current value of 100 is equal to zero, but it must be a value equal to the sum of 100-10 and 100-30.

What is the best way to achieve

Thank you
RK

You can do this in a hierarchy of stored. You can do if you do the dynamic hierarchy, but bringing potentially a loss of performance.

See also this thread for some suggestions on how to manage; someone else had a similar problem recently: Re: dérirez slow time in excel with ASO using 9.3.1

  • How formula MDX on level zero member data to Smartview?

    Hi Experts,

I'm a member of level zero, which stores the data AND formula MDX to ASO.  I wonder what happens when I pick up this member using Smartview?  ASO runs this formula, stores the result in the form of data in this member (zero level) - then report stored data to Excel? In other words - how formula MDX on members level report data zero to Smartview?

    Ho Ho Ho!

Level 0 members not also store data, if it has an MDX formula. The value is calculated according to the formula only at the time of the recovery.

You need an escape character before each quote so that it can be passed through that the escape character is a backslash if your code should look like \"UDA\"

  • R12 implementation level and the Consolidation of the Instance

    Hello

We have 11.5.10 HRMS on IBM AIX and Financials 11.5.10 on Sun Solaris servers. The plan is to upgrade the Applications for R12 and consolidate instances in a single case.
Please share your experiences to first upgrade the applications for R12 and then make the Instance Consolidation or do the Consolidation of the Instance on 11.5.10 and then perform the upgrade.

What are the advantages and disadvantages of the two approaches.

Please share your experiences, if someone has worked on similar projects.

    Kind regards
    VN

I would say do the consolidation then upgrade the instance, this way you can avoid upgrading twice - please log an SR to confirm this with the support of the Oracle.

  • EPMA 11.1.2.1 dimension build from FlatFile to EPMA to EssbaseASO using ODI, Member, sort order issues

We build our EssbaseASO cube using FlatFiles this work who are pushed to EPMA via the interface tables, EPMA Essbase app then is deployed to Essbase, everything is done through an ODI/package interface. The problem I am facing is the order in which members in EPMA appear, even if the FlatFile has the right, sort, at the time where that hierarchies are in the table of interface EPMA that the sort order is changed at random.

I use the file SQL control add IKM in ODI and somewhere on the way I saw a suggestion to add a new option to insert "ORDER BY" in the IKM. I did it successfully and it has changed the sort order, but is not the correct order (the order in which my flatfile has the dimensions).

I do not understand why Oracle/ODI needs to randomize the lines without being invited to do! Please let me know if anyone has faced this problem before, and if they have managed to solve.

EPMA interface tables have a SORTORDER column. Make sure that it is filled with numerical values, sequencing of the order that you want your members to appear in the hierarchies of EPMA and when you import tables interface that this order will be respected. Prior to this function being introduction workaround was to create a view that references the tables interface imposing the required ORDER BY clause, but this is not necessary in 11.1.2.1 just use the SORTORDER column

  • Aggregation of a member of ASO with the formula of the IIR

    Hello

I have a cube ASO has six dimensions. Based on the requirement, I need to have a calculated member (MBR1_CL) by taking the data from two members of entry (MBR2_IN & MBR1_IN) from specific intersections.

I have written a formula of ASO member to the dimension of accounts MBR1_CL using IIR member below:

IIF (IsAncestor ([West], [entity]. CurrentMember) AND IsAncestor ([ProdLine1], [Product]. CurrentMember) AND is ([years]. CurrentMember, & CYear) AND

(Is ([period]. CurrentMember, [Jan]) OR ([period]. CurrentMember, [February]) OR ([period]. CurrentMember, [Mar])) AND

IsAncestor ([CustCat1], [customer]. CurrentMember), [accounts]. [MBR2_IN]. Value, [accounts]. [MBR1_IN]. Value)

The formula checks and working at level 0, but my request is related to the aggregation of month in the quarterfinals. MBR1_IN members & MBR2_IN gave responsible for all months, i.e. from Jan to Dec and when it is retrieved to Qtr levels it shows correct aggregated data, however for Member MBR1_CL which data takes the MBR2_IN for Jan, Feb, Mar months it does not show the correct aggregation in Qtr1 shows rather value of Member MBR1_IN in Qtr1. I set value of order of resolution as '2' for MBR1_CL, 3 'for Qtr1 and all other members being default ' 0'. Could you please help and suggest a solution to have correct data aggregated to all levels for Member MBR1_CL.

    Thank you

    AK

    Hi, AK,

It's also what you say Essbase to do...

(Is ([period]. CurrentMember, [Jan]) OR ([period]. CurrentMember, [February]) OR ([period]. CurrentMember, [Mar]))

You don't say what it should do to T1. I just need the, [accounts]. [MBR1_IN]. Value

Why should he aggregate the months?

You will need to add all the logic of aggregation to the MDX. Yes, it will be a long script.

It is perhaps easier to load the data into the appropriate location.

  • Impossible to enter data to Parent - Essbase BSO Cube level member

    Hello

I'm unable to enter data on the form in line against a member parent in the entity dimension. The Web form gets classified off when I select the parent member (level 1) level enter store information of text (from the account Dimension)

So my selection of page elements is the entity dimension and my lines are account codes (account dimension) and the column is a dimension of the year. I can enter and save data on the selection of the level 0 member, but when I select its parent, cells member is listed on.

I understand that it is not advisable to enter data at zero level members. Users would still like to store textual information about the parent member. According to my understanding, BSO Cubes should allow us to enter data into the zero-level member.

    Kindly advice.

    Thank you

    Thomas

    Cube Essbase BSO
Dimension feature - Sparse - element of the Web Form Page
Account the Dimension - as always Dense - rows on the Web Form
Year Dimension - Sparse - column on the Web form

Yes, "Ascending" you cannot enter data at a higher level. You must do as a target version, then you can enter any level of data.
You can also create several versions and make any version as 'target' version and enter the data for the target version.

Can someone please help me with this? I came with the converstion above but it is not through.

    Thank you

You have ADI, Feat, etc, PC NA, Exch wrapped in parens? (TDI, Feat, etc, PC NA, Exch)? You can also add .currentmember on behalf of each Member

    ([TDI].currentmember,[Feat].currentmember,[ETC].currentmember, [PC NA].currentmember, [Exch].currentmember)

  • Allowing COnsolidation automated using HS reviews. Con("",vPcon,"nature")

    Hi Experts.

I'm having a problem with the rule to fill newspapers Consolidation automated for all Elim. entries made during the process of consolidation of HFM.

My application is configured to use the Consolidation rules and I joined the standard consolidation rules and they work very well.

A tutorial Oracle says to use the HS. Con "", vPCon, "text qualifier").

I added this rule at the end of my article to consolidate and newspapers were occurring in the value of "élimination" Member, but the amounts were not disposal quantities appropriate, that we should see.

"Call Hs.Con with Nature to follow the elim so that automated Consolidation reviews can be generated.

    Set vDataUnit = HS. OpenDataUnit("")

    HS = vPCon. Node.PCon("")

    vNumItems = vDataUnit.GetNumItems)

    For i = 0 To vNumItems - 1

    Call vDataUnit.GetItem (i, vAccount, ACIP, vCustom1, vCustom2, vCustom3, vCustom4, dData)

    If HS. Account.IsICP (vAccount) then

Dial the HS. Con ("V #[disposal]", vPCon, "élimination")

    End If

    Next

    End Sub

So then I tried to incorporate the suggested rule Oracle HS. Con ("", vPCon, "élimination") directly in the consolidation of the main script, but then we don't get all parent level data during consolidation (as it breaks the consolidation before it can finish correctly).

Should use us a rule something like this to make sure that we are entering the value member elimination during the execution of the loop of Open Data Unit?

    Set vDataUnit = HS. OpenDataUnit("")

    vNumItems = vDataUnit.GetNumItems)

    For i = 0 To vNumItems - 1

    Call vDataUnit.GetItem (i, vAccount, ACIP, vCustom1, vCustom2, vCustom3, vCustom4, dData)

    If HS. Account.IsICP (vAccount) then

povValue = "[disposal]" or to use a variable as Set HS = vElim. Account.Elimination

Dial the HS. Con (vElim, vpCon, "élimination")

    End If

    Next

You have any suggestions on how to run the rule to fill newspapers with member value elimination of each PKI account data?

Thank you very much in advance.

Hello. Looks like your rule is to consolidate all the data [Total parent] [disposal] and bypassing [percentage]. If you look in the sample applications in the consolidation rules, you will see there are commonly two subroutines. The first, Consolidation, is the standard that takes care of [percentage]. The second, usually called elimination, is called by the first to care for [eliminating]. In this second subroutine, there are two HS. Lines of con. • Can I do a free reference of a protected member MDX formula member account?

    My problem is:

I need to make a free reference a member account.
    and the track is:
    -Cube Essbase ASO 11.1.1.3.
-Accounts dimension has a member of level 0, called 'check '.

The structure of the hierarchy is:
    Account
    -Level2 (+)
    -Level1 (+)
    -Balancesheet (+)

I'm putting it under the formula of Member MDX on the 'check '.
    --------------
    CASE ([year]. CurrentMember)
    WHEN [FY10]
    Then
    Case ([period]. CurrentMember)
    When [JAN]
    Then
< some logic here, pulling another Member here and works great >
    ON THE OTHER
([Balance sheet], [period].) CurrentMember.PrevMember) / * this is also working fine * /.
    END
    ON THE OTHER
    [Balance sheet] _ / * ERROR * / / * this IS WHERE it IS DEFAULT AND MAKING THE VALUES '0' for and year except FY10 * / _
    END
    -----------------

Basically what I'm trying o realize is that I want ASO balance logic I write above ONLY for FY10 and don't do anything for any other year.
When I don't write the last part "else", it makes the values zero for any year except for FY10. so I tried to put the logic above in the last part "else", but it is also not not and send me the "recursive [31] limit reached error»

    Any help on this appreciated.

    Thank you
    Ankit

I'm still not clear on what you say, it seems that you say in a model of the ASO you can take a level 0 Member that has data in it, add a member formula he and Essbase will retain stored data that was there before the formula being added, but from now on he will use the result of the MDX formula.

If that's what you say, it is not true. If you find that it is, then it seems to me be a bug. In my tests, it doesn't work that way, nor should it.

Think about the consequences of not knowing if it's stored data or calc. by data. What do you do if you must reload the data? You cannot load the data of a member with a member formula, so you will have to remove the front form to load, then load and then add the formula back?

There is something else here who is not be clearly explained.

The solution is probably to create another stored for historical data and have then the Member with the formula reference this one for the periods you want and calculate for other periods.

  • Satellite L750 - disk space to level critical

    Hello

1st post please be nice and not too techie!
I just bought a new Satellite L750 computer laptop and loaded onto my iTunes file and some photos. The specification on the laptop says hard drive 500 GB, but I'm getting meesages warning saying
    Disk space to level critical

Toshiba TEMPRO issued an alert that your stored data has now reached 90% or more of its capacity.
The data says that Windows (c) disc 37.1 GB free of 232 GB which is 90% I guess. But the data (D) 218 GB free of 233 GB

What happens when I use all the space on drive C? It flows more on D drive?

What I have to do something, if so what? Simple tech not talk please!

    Thank you

    Dennis

Have you tried to spend 20 or more GB of data on the D partition to see if the message will be gone?

Anyway, in my opinion there is no reason to panic. TEMPRO is nice tool but sometimes can be confusing too.
Maybe it sounds stupid now, but you can remove the system or simply stop in autostart so it does not start with windows more.

  • Death in unicast and multicast mode detection algorithm

    Hello

Today, I tried to check - how does detection of death in multicast and unicast. To my understanding - that, in two modes, consistency has following algorithm:

    1. All members in unicast cluster heartbeat messages send with 2 other members, using the TCP connection via the port UDP cluster.
    2. Senior member (senior for that service?) send heartbeat broadcast messages.

In both modes (Unicast and Multicast) - consistency is using TcpRing mode, am I right?

    My questions are:

    1. How each Member of the cluster detects - so that others of 2 nodes, it must send the message of heartbeat?
    2. If the node 1 is down - how nodes, which sent the message drive to this node change heartbeat for message impulse unicast address? And how long will it take?
    3. If the node that declined-joins the cluster - node will send heartbeat messages to this node and works with her consistency?
    4. How can I see in the newspapers, the heart beats (I changed the level of logging at 9, but it does not show the heartbeat messages)?
    5. What is a full role of the upper limb in multicast (perhaps new members connect to the upper limbs, and then it sends the notification to all members via broadcast/multicast or something else?)? And what is the difference between the WKA and senior member unicast? What is a member additional features WKA performs?

    Thank you!

There is only one difference between unicast and multicast dead detection variants so we will cover only the first.  In a multicast are grouped the cluster senior (member of the cluster of longer life) emits a blink of an eye a multicast times per second.  That heartbeat contains the IDS of all the cluster members.  A non-superieur member receives the multicast heartbeat if heart rate is its main known, and does not contain the Member of reception in all of the known members of the recipient will deduct that it was for a reason any declared as dead and so now does not not to be part of the cluster.  At this point, the receiving Member stops his grouping and wait for an external stimulus to try to join the cluster.  This stimulus would be basically any user code that attempted to use a cluster resource.  Note that this is not exactly detection of death, but rather of detection that you have been declared dead.  In a cluster of unicast only the realization even happen by non primary member by train to learn that other members refuse to ack, any of her communications.  It should be noted that in both cases, we take on a undead member of learning that he was falsely declared dead and this is an extremely rare event.

Next move common aspects of the detection of death which are used by multicast and unicast based clusters.  All other forms use only unicast i.e. point to point networks.  In fact, we have three separate death detection mechanisms:

The first is TcpRing, which monitors deaths in the form of suspension of processing of other members.  Basically, we create a 'ring' of TCP connections which includes all members of the cluster, for example 3-> 2-> 1-> 3.  On the side of the destination of the connection will never close the connection, so the side origin knows that if the connection is closed, it means that the Remote OS kernel has detected that the process is dead and this nucleus has cleaned the connection and to inform the other side that it is closed.  This form of detection of death is deterministic, that there is essentially no such thing as a false positive, and that if the connection is detected as closed the remote member must be dead.  One of the advantages of this is that it allows a very fast detection because it involves no waiting times, only the time that necessary for the nucleus remote to send a packet to the original machine, so we don't talk detection of millisecond under processes completed that.  Most of the deaths are detected through this mechanism.  Unfortunately, this mechanism is not infallible because it is based on a working network connection between the origin of the Member and the machine target.  Thus, it cannot detect a failed computer or network.

This is where IpMon comes.  IpMon is a component within coherence where each Member once a second "pings" one machine in the cluster.  If the ping fails he follows it with additional pings (two by default).  If none of these pings work and there had been no acknowledgements of all members on the target during the ping cycle machine failed the remote machine is considered be failed and all the members who were running on it are reported as dead.  Note that the pings are not against members remote but the remote machines and therefore should succeed even if the remote member was temporarily unavailable due to a GC.  Time-out based means it is not deterministic, and we must set a relatively high time and try the County to try to avoid false positives.  The default value is three five second ping attempts.  So basically if you put a machine out of service or disconnect it from the IpMon network must withdraw all its members fifteen seconds approximately.  It is quite a long time from the time of detection under "millisecond" of TcpRing, but it is still fast enough.  Failure also produces far less often then suspension of treatment so it ends not accounting for most of the detections, but it does not fill in the void left by TcpRing.

The final mechanism used is a delay of delivery of packets.  Each packet by coherence should get ack was within a few hundred milliseconds.  If it's not it gets broadcast automatically every few hundred milliseconds.  If this condition persists for an extended period (five minutes by default) then a fault is declared and one on both sides of the operation in the end must be removed from the cluster.  The original Member will consult with the other two members of the cluster and at least another agrees that the Member does not meet the destination member is declared as dead.  If both consulted members indicate that the destination seems to work very well then the author assumes local failure and ends.  In addition to the traffic normal cluster consistency will automatically send a heartbeat from point to point to a few other members once per second with an algorithm that ensures that every Member will be issued a heartbeat or some other communication within 2/3 of the timeout that is 2/3, 5 m.  And even in an inactive cluster sure us we would still have minimum transmissions both detect the inability of the acknowledgement, and also to have enough current stats to answer another Member of query asking if some third-party member building.  This type of detection of death only comes into play for a strange type of death.  The faulty Member machine and the process are detected as living, but the Member is inadmissible.  Basically it watches just for bugs in the transport of coherence itself.  It can also be caused by the target process receives no time CPU for a long time, I.E. CTRL-Z, GC, or Exchange and as such almost never occurs because failure would need to last five minutes.

Regarding forestry, we do not have an option to save the package-level operations, but there will be if a member is declared as death and why he stated as being deceased.

I hope that answers your questions.

    Thank you

    Mark

  • Effect of a change of name/alias and hierarchy data members

If I change name or alias of a level 0 member, what will happen to the data that was stored for this member? The data will remain such what or it will be deleted?

Another issue is that if I change the parent of a member of level 0, what will happen to the data for that Member? For example, a CBA member is a child of the Parent I have cut from there and paste it under Parent B. what happens to the data stored for ABC Member?

    We're on 11.1.2 using a classic application.

If you rename a member then the data will be kept against the new member name.
If you start the mobile members under different parents then the data will see opposing member that you would have to aggregate the data, so the parents hold the correct values (unless they are dynamic calc)
You have to watch, it's if you move all the children under a parent because that parent will now become Level0 and could cause problems of data it still holds data against it.

    See you soon

  • Creation of photo library

I just updated my 2008 PowerBook for a ssd hard drive and have the old internal drive in an external drive. I found the old photo library with externally connected and can select it and see pictures but cannot create a new library on the new SSD without error message when the file is transferred. My plan was to drag and drop it on the desktop and place it in the new folder of pictures and find a picture to make the new library. It seems he just can't copy a file too big, 90 GB and trying, but it is not all the way.  I tried to drag and drop time machine too with the same problem. Do I need an app or is there something about the Photo to get the library directly and create a new one on the ssd? I made a backup direct time machine I wanted a new system not cluttered with all the old debris virtually everything but the pictures are set up on the new SSD at this stage. Thank you!

Your old photo library may have a corrupt and need of repair before copy you it to the drive internal.  Also, there may be permission and file ownership issues.

I would first try to repair the photo library - how to fix is described on this help page: https://help.apple.com/photos/mac/1.0/?lang=en#/pht6be18f93

Then try again to drag the library to the internal drive.

It copies without errors?  If this is not the case, use a software of cloning (Carbon Copy Cloner, Super Duper). to clone the photo library to the new location. This can work around errors in the file.
