Aspire R7-572, DisplayLink and Windows 10

We have about 8 machines R7-572, several other laptops, and about 15 replicators of ports (Targus) DisplayLink floating around.  Everything works fine, except when I'm trying to upgrade a R7 to 10 Windows.  Windows self-installing the Targus / DisplayLink software and almost everything works: USB analog audio and ethernet devices.  What fails is the video part, there is no available additional monitors.

When I connect the USB cord audio and devices ethernet appear in Device Manager, but the USB graphic card appears for about 2 seconds and then disappears again.

8.1 everything was working well, then with a level or a new installation, the behavior is the same on Windows.

This isn't a problem of Windows 10: other laptops on 10, including my Acer V 15 Nitro and an old TravelMate P253, work very well.  It is not defective hardware port replicator, all other laptops work fine and these laptops work well when the Windows 8.1.

I'm open to ideas, so anyone who has worked with these things please take the floor.

All good people, here is the answer.  When I upgraded Windows 8.1 to 10, if I choose the option "erase the disc and install fees" everything worked fine.  If I chose the option "keep my stuff" the DisplayLink has failed.

Ultimately it turned out that the previously installed software from DisplayLink is remained installed while a new version, also installed with Windows 10.

The solution:

  1. Disconnect the docking station
  2. The DisplayLink software
  3. Reset
  4. Run the 'Installation of DisplayLink 8.0.453 Cleaner' DisplayLink cleaning tool that was provided to me by an engineer from Targus (don't know if it's easily accessible from the site of the Targus or DisplayLink)
  5. Reset
  6. Installing DisplayLink USB Graphics Software for Windows 8.0 DisplayLink website M0.exe
  7. When you are prompted to connect the docking station

Voila!

I tried the wireless network to a friend who worked ok without interruption, is certainly nothing wrong with the hardware. I use a brand new Acer Aspire V3 - 572 - T 56, 3 on Windows 8.1, with all the latest drivers/patches loaded and tried to juggle with many advanced settings for the card of network without success. I connected the router to make sure that all the settings, encryption standards, channels etc was corresponding, but the problem is persistent. It has been going on for two days now and is driving me crazy because I really need to work in the office with wifi band. Plug an ethernet cable directly into the router works fine, but it is not the ideal solution (and poses a danger OH & S that he throws on the ground). Can someone help pleeeease!

  • Aspire V3-572 dolby digital more stopped working

    Description of the problem:

Dolby digital more no longer works as it used to.

    Description of the actions:

I got chrome two windows open, and I was watching a show in one. I stopped to watch something in the other window, and when I returned to the show, has heard the sound quality when dolby is not on. I pulled upwards from dolby and saw that it was on. However, the scales of the equalizer were not pass audio and the sound quality was still poor. When listening more, there is a minute change when dolby is turned on, but it is not the incredible difference that I had known earlier.

What I did to manage the problem:

-Restart the PC, hoping to switch it between browser windows mistook dolby. No luck there.

-Activated Windows update to see if a driver or an update recently crossed the value nothing.

-Looked at the pilots. Seems there isn't that one speaker driver RealTek High Definition Audio, worm 6.0.1.7300. It goes back to July, which I assume is when the laptop was packed. Oddly, it is also the last update from Acer, Acer so it lists as being up to date in November.

    Hello...

There seems to be something with the audio driver. The dolby software is included in the audio driver from the factory delivered. To resolve this problem, try reinstalling the audio driver on the laptop. Here are the steps:

Hold the Windows key and then press the C key to open the charms.

Click on search and type "Recovery".

    Click on "Acer Recovery Management.

    Select reinstall drivers or Applications.

Select the content and choose the audio codec and proceed to install it.

In the case where you cannot install this driver, you can go to Device Manager and open "Audio, video and game controllers" and uninstall the driver audio current.

Then follow the steps above to install the audio driver. It will work...

  • Aspire E1-572 takes ~ 1 hour for start to appear

    Dear members,

My Aspire E1-572 suffers somewhat from the dreaded black screen of death.

The computer needs an hour to start, but when finally, windows is loaded, it works like a charm.

The "F2 for the bios screen" takes about an hour to load.

I did a factory reset Acer.
Tested the WD hard drive - no defects
    I ran memtest86 - no error

I tried to update the bios of the Acer download section, but all I get is error.

As I said, the computer works like a charm, only it takes about an hour for the start.

    Any suggestions?

    Hi guys,.

Really strange, I think that the fact that the system takes an hour to start-up the BIOS or Windows means that it is something wrong with the motherboard. With the little information I have, I think the ROM chip used to store BIOS/UEFI (will) bad. Once you have loaded everything up, it is not necessary that would explain why Windows seems to work ok once you get in the operating system.

I checked, 2.17 exists since almost 5 months with 10s of thousands of downloads. If there is a problem with the BIOS, you would have heard about it now. Also, nothing in our contact centres suggest abnormal failure due to this BIOS.

My suggestion is to contact your service team and let's get resolved for you.

    Thank you
    Cory

  • White screen of McAfee and Windows 8 apps does not

    Hello

I had problems with a variety of applications of Windows 8 does not properly. For example, shows weather tile up to fine as a tile, but then when I click it there just has the rotating balls (replacement of the hourglass) and does nothing. Same for the store Windows, rotation of the balls and nothing else. Skype also does not work.

Not sure if it is related to the McAfee internet security suite, because all I get when I load which is a white window.

It is on an AO756 an Aspire bought end of 2012, and whose serial number is incredibly not recognized by the Acer support site (I posted about this yesterday, but heard nothing back).

Not impressed with Windows 8 or Acer at this stage.

I ended up buying a new McAfee product, like Security Suite Internet which has been preloaded on my netbook has been exceeded. The installation was not easy and I had to contact McAfee support. I ended up having to 1) remove and reinstall Java, 2) remove all McAfee software and 3) reinstall McAfee.

Who eventually solve all the issues I had with McAfee and Windows 8.

I'm always interested in hearing, why the serial number of my netbook is not recognized by the Acer support.

  • Downgraded Acer Aspire V3 575 G for windows 7, but impossible to install the wifi driver

Hi, I got a new laptop yesterday, the model is Acer Aspire V3 575 G 73ZZ. I didn't like the 10 preinstalled with windows so I installed a new copy of windows 7 on it. However, once the installation is complete, none of my drivers work. I went looking for the drivers for my model, but they were all for windows 10 and were not compatible with my laptop. I tried to install the drivers wifi during the night, but none of them work on my laptop.

Does anyone know what wifi Drivers to install so it can run on windows 7?

I found the solution to my problem! I did a search on acer and discovered that my device is using Win Driver Atheros Wireless LAN (NFA344) 10 64-bit, so I did a search on Google to find the version of Win 7 64 bit for the driver and came across this page: http://support.lenovo.com/sg/en/downloads/ds105865

Even if the driver is Lenovo, but I ran on my Acer Aspire V3 575 G and it worked perfectly. I am able to connect to the wifi now!

  • Aspire XC-605 Downgrade from Windows 8 for Windows 7

    Hi people,

I need quick tips on a desktop PC Acer Aspire XC-605 and hope you can help me. My boyfriend just bought an Acer Aspire XC-605 for his family to use. It comes with Windows 8, but he hates this OS. He called me yesterday and asked if I could "downgrade it" to Windows 7 as I'm a bit geek with PCs.

But I read a horror story about someone who wants to downgrade an Acer Aspire XC-600 and it seems very simple not => so I expect the same thing to a XC-605. (I'm trying a bit of research before plunging).

Here is a summary on how to get Windows on an Acer Aspire XC-600 from this post:

1 completely turns off your computer.

    2. turn on the system. As soon as the first logo screen appears, immediately press DELETE to enter BIOS.

    3. use the right arrow key to select the authentication.

    4. with secure boot is highlighted, press ENTER, and then press the arrow down to select the people with reduced mobility.

    5. use the right arrow key to select Boot Options.

    6. with CSM launch highlighted, press enter and use the arrow down to select always.

    7. press ENTER.

    8. press on the F10 key to save the changes and reboot the system

9 re - enter the BIOS by pressing DELETE and go to the Advanced menu.

10 go down in the Integrated Peripherals menu.

11 change onboard SATA Native IDE mode.

    12. press on the F10 key to save the changes and reboot the system

By doing this, you can, since the Win7 DVD, delete all existing partitions and not all errors not being able to install on this HARD drive.

After installing Win7 the only drivers Win7 not found were the wired LAN, card reader Realtek USB and SM Bus controller. (On the XC-600)

My understanding is that Win 7 use Win drivers 8 without a problem. So I used the devices I've found a similar driver on the Acer Aspire XC-605 issue.

That computer has SLIC 3.0, & Secure Boot UEFI, is why a full erase of the HDD is required; as with UEFI (Unified Extensible Firmware Interface) & Secure Boot-online Bios "wife" the hard to the motherboard. At least that's what I discovered to date. I generally supported the recovery partitions on OEM boxes like an insurance-online just in case that something goes wrong, and I can't install the desired OS. Of course wipe everything clean denies this useful backup. Comments please?

PS - I forgot to mention that my boyfriend he filed yesterday afternoon while I was helping my mom with lights. He was still in the box.

The box was brand new! -It never has been started! I couldn't believe he didn't even try to make 8 on this so I called him again, and he said he was certain that he would not win 8. So I did the same as above for a XC-600 and it blew.

However if you replace onboard SATA Native IDE mode as shown above in 11, Windows will not let you install from a USB key as it crashes during the expansion of the files to 1% on the XC-605. If you use a disc of 7 win he advises you immediately after you size the partition to the OS and tell him to install there, that the drive is not configured in the Bios to be Bootable. He definition back to ACHI authorized Win 7 must be installed on the disk (I didn't try the Stick but this probably would have worked as well).

There were a few more necessary than the XC-600 above - drivers so I installed all drivers 8 Win from the Acer site, and they all worked, but there is only one device listed in the Device Manager, under other devices-online (USB) Universal Serial Bus controller that has a yellow triangle next to him. He doesn't have a driver that are associated with and Windows Update does not find it. I find it strange that he sees it as a USB controller because as all USB ports now operate. I think that Windows has erred in the detection of this device so I am headed in that direction now.

I tried the function of automatic detection of Acer and it says to activate a Bluetooth, Lan and Wireless LAN and try to detect again. So I enabled the wireless connection, (one is connected to Wired?) but I'll try to find something Bluetooth to turn on that, but I think it's just a Kipper.

I hope someone will chime and advise how to determine this last device is before I get all my hair...

    Thanks for reading...

I went to Intels here and download a new Chipset for windows 7 (chipset 10.0.13 PV installation). That will fix the problem with (USB) Universal Serial Bus controller. Triangle yellow no more... I hope it works for you 2. /Kak PC-SUPPORT Sweden
