Aspire V5 - 573G BIOS update

I have an Aspire V5 - 573G with the Nvidia 750GT and I was wondering if it would be wise to upgrade to the new BIOS dated dated January 20, 2015.

Given that a newer model of V5 - 573G with 850GT (and a previous media noted set to BIOS level for hybrid N15P - GT VGA Graphics which is 850 m), thought I'd ask first before the upgrade so that I don't kill my laptop with love.

the latest BIOS is ok for your version, they add simply taken into newer VGA support and other improvements.

  • Update graphics card on Acer Aspire V5 - 573G

Anyone with experience with upgrading the graphics hardware on the Aspire V5 - 573G? It is even possible to do?

    Thanks in advance.

Update the graphics card in a laptop computer, you * must * have a portable 'MXM '. 'MXM' port resembles a port PCI-E inside a laptop computer.

They were somewhat popular about 5 years ago, and models like the Acer 5739 G had MXM graphics cards.

However, it is difficult to build a laptop that is scalable and ultra-thin. Today laptops use to be thin, and MXM is not popular.

From what I see, no V5 - 573 G model has never included MXM. No MXM not = no setting a level, sorry!

DanskeN, if you think that graphics performance are not what you expected, it could be that the application is using your integrated graphics Intel instead of the dedicated Nvidia chip. Set up the "Nvidia Control Panel" and click on "Manage 3D settings" and you should see a tab "program settings". Here you can play with or not your programs use your Nvidia card. It should above all be auto - personally, I only had a problem with a game, XCOM, using the built-in default graphics card!

For those seeking other to upgrade their graphics in their laptop, try to do a search on the Internet for "[laptop brand / model] MXM ' to see if you have a portable extensible MXM.

  • Aspire 5742G BIOS update

Hello guys. as the title know I have Aspire 5742 G and on the download section of the site, I see theres a BIOS update. Now I have the old aspire 5315 and when I tried to update my bios on it I almost he bricked. So my question is: is it safe for update my BIOS on the 5742 G and going to improve my performance of the laptop. Right now, I feel the audio offset at random times (sometimes when I listen to music or watch film of any browser and sometimes using office applications online to watch movies offline). Also when I shift + del too fast (if I close the combination within 2-3 seconds) it does not read my shift (it shows the msg to send files to don't bin not permanently remove). Tried updates of windows, restore points, driver updates, driver rollback, windows cleaning install (more than 10 times), different windows (from windows 7, windows 8 and even I tried Ubuntu). Went to assosiated local tech with Acer and they said that they are unable to find the cause of the problem. So as a last resort im concidering to BIOS update

I would say that you can create a USB bootable flash BACK drive with Rufus:

    http://Rufus.AKEO.IE/?locale=en_US

Plug in your USB key, start Rufus and then set it as on the screenshot (FAT32 or FAT doesn't matter)

Once done, copy the contents of the BIOS BACK folder at the root of the USB flash drive.

Turn off your laptop, start by pressing F12 and select UFD as a boot device, once in the DOS environment type

    Update.bat

Follow the instructions on the screen.

Please make sure your battery is charged to 100% and your charger is plugged.

  • BIOS Update Fail - Aspire XC - 603G Win 8.1

    Hello

I have searched here for a few days and read a bunch of messages - which some I tried.

I don't mean to come down in Win 7 (even though I really like Win 7)

I'm trying to stick with Win 8.1.

I was running BIOS P11 - A1 and suddenly started having trouble with the USB 3.0 controller.

I read some posts here and on other forums that I should see if there is a BIOS update.

There are in fact four for this machine and so I started with the oldest a P11 - B0L

    T

To be honest, the instructions in the file Readme PDF weren't that useful

but I found some great data on the site of the FRIEND who helped me to put up-to-date to B0L - P11.

I ran the BIOS BACK. BAT file first, but got this error: "4 - error: file ROM ROMID is not compatible with existing BIOS ROMID.

So I advanced and run AFUDOS file without any parameters in the command and all set file to update correctly.

But I still have problems with the USB 3.0 controller and the process just seemed to be relatively complex.

As well my HP and three other Dell had programs BIOS Flash, or simple instructions which worked without any problems.

I was just lucky with them and there are some hidden secret ritual UEFI and/or MS-DOS that I'm missing here?

Am I possibly using the incorrect day BIOS file - and if yes which one should I use?

    Thank you

    -Bil

If your computer came pre-installed with windows 8.1, BIOS correct would be P11. B2 (to the best of my knowledge).

    'L' versions are for Linux.

  • bios update wrong

I have an acer aspire xc - 603, who had the newest bios update for my p11 - b2 model.  I acidently updated my bios version p11 - B4, which is intended for sucks it xc - 603 G.  How would I fix this?  Flash the bios with the original version of p11 - b2?

If the flashing allow you to go back to a previous version, Yes, try it. (not always the best thing to do, returning to a previous BIOS version)

If not and your system is stable, I would leave it as it is.

  • Clocked at 20 degrees warmer since putting on 3.87 Rev A Bios Update on Z420 Workstation

    I have a question:

Not too long ago I put the Bios Update on A Rev 3.87 was considered to be as critical an update on my workstation Z420 (running Windows 7 Pro 64-bit), and lately I've found that the CPU idling at about 20 degrees more hot than before.  I used to hear creaking noises coming from the computer I learned normally come circuits on the motherboard power delivery, but as long as I heard those CPU would be on average around 50 degrees C at idle.  I hear these noises and now the CPU is on average around 70-75 degrees C at idle.  Not sure what the connection is.  HP performance Advisor tells me I'm in the normal range, but I want to just make sure that with programs like Autodesk Maya there, she become too hot and stop the machine.   I don't know what the temp high-end is considered maximum security.  This change could have due to the update of the Bios?

Thank you for your response and suggestions.  I check in my BIOS power management settings has been developed the extended mode, but the temperature has always hovered around 70-78 degrees at idle.  I checked Intel spec for this (E5 - 1650 6-core xeon) processor, clocked at 3.2 Ghz by heart, and although he said nothing on the TMax, he mentioned that the TCase (which he defined as the maximum temperature allowed integrated processor heat sink (IHS)) was 64 degrees Celsius.  Now my temperature of the case, according to my HP Performance Advisor version 1.7.7517.0 is only about 24 degrees C, but I put my fan a little higher CPU, about 2009 rpm speed.  This makes a little more noise, but my CPU temp has dropped to about 49 °.  "" Before the change of the fan speed has been slightly more than 1300 RPM while the Advisor I have always said that it is in the range "normal".  Is it good to get the speed of the CPU fan like that or do I have to go a little lower?

  • Satellite X 200-20 s - LAN does not work after BIOS update

    Hi all

I've updated the BIOS version 2.7 and NIC LAN just disappeared from my list of device. The wireless network card works fine however. When I plug the ethernet cable, the green light turns orange not, so I guess that it is not broken, as it worked fine before the BIOS update.

I tried different drivers lan Windows XP and still nothing. Any ideas please?

    I have Windows 7 x 64 installed.

LAN option is listed in the BIOS boot menu?

If you have tested with Win7 and WXP maybe you should do finally test and install recovery image original Toshiba that you got with your laptop and see what happen when you use the laptop with the factory settings.

I got my BIOS update from toshiba Web site, when I used it to update my laptop, it crashed and now my computer doesn't work anymore, I tried authorized service provided, but they couldn't remedy! and said: I need to change my motherboard which is almost more expensive than my laptop itself, I'm sure you understand now that I have more warranty

This is the Windows 7 Home Premium with Service Pack 1 unsupported?

    What is the problem?
What BIOS is right for my system?

    Please help me!
    Thank you very much.

    Hello

It seems that the OS Vista was preinstalled on this laptop.
This means that you have installed the Windows 7 system to your own hand.

The point is that BIOS update requires a few essential tools of Toshiba.
For example, the package of value added is an important software package and must be preinstalled on the laptop.

    VAP is installed?
If this isn't the case, install the PPV before trying to update the BIOS.

  • BIOS update failed on Tecra R10 with Windows7

    Hello

I have problems with the update the BIOS of my Tecra R10J. The current version is 1.4, and I want to upgrade to 3.0, so I downloaded from the Toshiba web site the good file named "P006Cv300.exe" 2009-11-04 released. It is an update of the BIOS online in a real session of Windows 7. Simply right click the compress exe, click Run as admin and that is all, but... for me, he said:
    * "[Error] the start of the service was abandoned. The user doesn't have administrative privileges. "

    See below:
    http://perso.Orange.fr/100Mo/bioserror.jpg

    I tried with:
    -closed AV, firewall, etc...
    -turn off UAC
    -Run as administrator
    -Tried with another admin account
-Safe mode (update of the bios doesn't support safe mode)
    -lead the local administrator session

No change. Always the message "user lacks administrative privileges."
Need help please, found nothing on Google (similar but not resolved Bios problem!)

    Thank you

    Hey ignore them,

As Akuma has already written the added value Package must be installed for BIOS update for the BIOS to read system information correctly. Besides, the VAP is needed for special functions such as the FN keys so it must be installed.

It would be interesting to know what is happening with the factory settings. I guess that your computer laptop wasn t ship with Windows 7, but with Vista and you should try it with Vista.

  • Tecra 8100: bios update of cd. exe does not command line

I want to update the bios of my Tecra 8100.
I downloaded the bios, but the pc has no floppy, I cooked up a cd bootable like this

When I start the pc, F2, press c to boot from the CD-ROM, I get in a dos environment. I went to the drive Z, "dir" and see the bios.exe that I've burned to cd. To run it I type bios.exe and continue to be 'command unrecognized file name' when I type dir *.exe, he does not see the file either.

    Maybe I forget something here?

    Hello

Your described method does not apply to Toshiba laptops.
Each computer laptop manufacturers supports various BIOS update procedures

    Toshiba on this page we:
    http://www.CSD.Toshiba.com/cgi-bin/TAIS/support/JSP/downloadDetail.jsp?soID=356848&PF=true
Here you can download the latest version of the BIOS for Tecra 8100

The 4810.25 package must be unpacked everything first.
Then you should check the files available.
There is a readme.txt file that describes how to update BIOS using the ISO to CD.

    I hope I could help

  • irreversible bios update made noisy fan (8710p, 8710w, 8510p, 8510w, fan, F.20, F.0E)

    Hey.

I just want to share my experience with the update of the bios on my computer hp 8710w laptop and talk to HP support. I've updated F.0E to F.20 and after that this fan went wild. In windows 7 it works very well every boots 2 / 3, or more. All fans of time runs fast, no matter what the system load and temperature are. What makes the portable noisy.

I used to use linux and it just fan slow down after spinning up to cool the system. It is really something that you want to have, because it becomes a noisy vacuum cleaner with an excellent machine and quiet.

I have enough evidence to assume that the problem was caused by the update of the bios. First of all, it started exactly after the bios update when nothing else has been changed. Secondly, 5 years ago I had a very similar laptop (8710p) and when I have updated the bios to F.0F, it's the same thing, but I fortunately downgraded the bios and everything was back to normal. In addition, reported others on the internet and these discussion forums.

Now with the update of F.20... There is no way to downgrade. It's embarrassing: HP has released a update this feature breaks... and there is no way back (except the replacement of the card system, which is expensive for laptops out of warranty).

I was the cat and then talk on the phone with HP support. They are not really very close to professional. First, they said that my windows 7 is not officially supported and should I install xp or vista. I have xp installed specially for them, and which consumes a lot of time. Of course, nothing has changed. And they actually all drivers for windows 7...

The best advice of hp support has been trying to install all previous versions of the bios. I reported a failure on each one, then only, they found in the description of the version F.20 could not be downgraded. After reading the forums here for 15 minutes, I knew much more technical support on my laptop and the question, lol.

After talking with me for a time very long (like 3 or 4 hours) and say that I try to restart my machine, or start with the Windows key + b, etc., they said that my laptop is out of warranty, and there is nothing that they can help me with.

I confess that the laptop is out of warranty... but only suffers from the update of the official firmware that cannot be downgraded. Yes, I know I'm supposed to buy a new replacement HP laptop. But... This look bad.

Now, I'll get a replacement bios chip, programmed with the previous version of the bios and soldered to the motherboard...

Hello to the guys at HP support. They are nice people who try to be useful, they don't know anything about their products :-)

Hello programmers to the HP bios... Please... Please be better, please learn that bugs can be corrected.

    Problem solved! :-D

    I downgraded to F.0E

    Hello

    This s pity companion
Looks like the BIOS update procedure has failed, which means that you need a help of a technician of the ASP
I hope that the ROM module was not too bad. In most cases, should be reflash the ROM BIOS again

In any case, this procedure needs a crisis BIOS disk that would help to Flash the module.
