Asterisk arbitrarily in title bar changes

I've always relied on the symbol of asterisk on the title bar of a file to alert me of a colorspace by default. In previous versions of the PS, this meant that the file was not in the current default color space, and it's something I paid attention when 40 students different subject files for evaluation.

Here's the situation...

In PS CS4 I AdobeRGB set as my default RGB color space. I can open a file that contains the tag this color space, and the title bar has no asterisk - as expected.

However, when I select file > print and simply click done or print, the title bar of the file suddenly pushes an asterisk. The file is STILL in the Adobe RGB space as seen under Edition > convert to profile, but still has the asterisk display.

I've done other things if you change a photo and suddenly get the asterisk as well. A quick search here brought to the top of any other question about this.

Any ideas why this happens?

System: newish 24 "iMac, OSX 10.5.7 8 GB of ram, Virgin installation of CS4 suite with all available patches currently applied.

The asterisk outside jurisdiction parens means you have changed the file (unsaved changes took place - in this case, print settings). The asterisk inside the parens jurisdiction means that the image is not in your workspace. I am completely at a loss as to why someone would choose such a confusing symbol for this feature.

    At my work we use Windows 7 Professional but work from servers. I think our facility's Workspace Manager.

    In any case, we have no right to customize anything so we all have the same exact configuration. It's all together by the IT Department.

    Recently, I got a new machine, and since then, my active and inactive title bars went weird. Don't really care about the color they are however so dark that you can't read the text.

    The problem is that is not evident in all areas of windows. Only in 2 programs that I use and it is not the title bars that are the problem, it is the selected lines and not selected. Our IT Department is unable to understand it. It is not the programs because they do not have the ability to customize.

    So, every morning I have to go to Customize > window color > Advanced appearance settings and change the colors of the Active & inactive title bar that fixes it.  (HE allowed me to access it!) But when I log in the next day she goes back to the stupid colors. It's driving me crazy.

    It's not even the default color of windows. Also if I connect to another computer it is not affected.

    Does anyone know how to fix this? Please, I beg you!

    I use Windows Vista Ultimate on a Sony Vaio. I've customized my Windows Vista Basic theme so that my title bar was black. I don't know what happened all of a sudden today. A program called HP Update did something and the title bar changed suddenly light blue and I can't change it back! Everything was fine before. Help!

    In native mode, change the title bar, you do not use the Vista theme. Check under personalisation/themes to see if updating is returned to the system in this mode. If so, change it to a standard theme. Once in the standard theme, you should be able to change the color of title bar (and others) in the classic appearance properties.

    If you are using a count of third-party product to change the user interface, you will need to consult with the support for this product.

    I took a screenshot of my title bar in Firefox (Windows 7) and it marked with an arrow below. I think that is what changes the color on your machine?

    In Windows 8, the color of the bars title in all applications is determined by the operating system not Firefox. This varies according to the theme of your operating system, but by default, it is a kind of 'average' colors sampled in your background. This replaces the Aero translucent look of Windows 7.

    So detestable green color is most likely taken from your screen background image. To get rid of him the best bet is to change your background.

  • Can I change the application title bar color?

    With a number of open applications and windows a standard color grey silver it can be quite difficult to quickly locate a title bar to move a window.  I don't see any option in system preferences to change the color of title bar.  Can it be done?

    OS X does not have this facility.

    You may be able to find a third party extension that can do the job, but my advice would be NOT to install this software.

    No, not directly. You will be able to extend, add your new items and replace the updateDisplayList to organize what they way you want.

    Alternatively, you can add your items to the display list at the same level as the title bar and in the container owner, position new items 'above' the title bar. Just make sure that you add the new children after the title bar.

    Some of the available color & size options are not available because Windows 7 Basic is a theme and will replace some of the items you choose. If you choose Windows Classic, it should allow you to change these colors and sizes in the window color and appearance UI.

    If you change your theme of "Bright" (default on the Z10) 'Dark' (which will default on the Q10) all the bars title will change to black. However, be aware that all components of Cascades will change the bright theme with the dark theme, such as the buttons change to light gray to black.

  • Cannot change the active title bar

    Hey people.

    I use a HP Envy (Windows 7, etc.), a year or so old, but I just did a reset complete system - a few days ago. It is therefore running (approximately) on the parameters of the box.

    However, I have problems by changing the settings of the active title bar for programs that do not have their own settings of active title bar (think Windows Explorer vs Google Chrome). This has caused some problems, especially for things like Mathematica, where the menu under the title bar is screwed up. More important still, it seems just ugly.

    Unfortunately, go into the settings of customization (including advanced settings) in Control Panel does not work. In fact, the parameters are essentially the value by default and cannot not even match at the exit. It is quite confusing.

    Any help would be greatly appreciated. Please let me know if I can provide more information on the parameters, specifications, etc.

    For now, try to update the display drivers and see if it helps you to solve the problem. Drivers are updated occasionally.     After a few more messing around, I finally did! I love so much it makes me a little sad Java how it is difficult to do things like that. In any case, I found a method here to recursively change the fonts of all components in a JFileChooser, but it does not work on the JPopupMenu (now I know the name) who jumps to the top of the icon in the title bar. So I messed around with this method a few casting and was able to change the fonts of the JMenuItems:

    Each System.out.println () gives an indication of what should go on what follows if State, so they should be used one at a time. This does not work for the title of the JFileChooser however font. When I have time I'll either look no further away inside or ask another question.

    So, if someone else needs like I did, it's here. As a tip, System.out.println () and. toString() are your friends! That's how I learned what was contained in each object, and which path I needed to take to get to objects of interest.

    Hi Amrit,

    The values of the y-axis duplicate occur when the data that you draw non-integer values, but the table is configured to display (integer) formatting for axis y. For example, the axis is trying to show something like 0, 0.4, 0.8, 1.2, 1.6, 2.0 - but, with axis set up for formatting integers, values will truncate and display something like 0, 0, 0, 1, 1, 2. A patch has been applied for the 2.3 release for this problem and can be obtained by contacting the Oracle service (and the fix will be in the next version 2.4, if you are able to take the most recent version). Note that the fix just checks that, when it is configured for formatting integers, numbers are not duplicated on the axis y. However, if data comes to a noninteger number as 0.6, the bar height is somewhere between the graduations of 0 and 1. So if your graph tends to have, for example, small fractional values, you probably want to avoid setting up the axes to display integers, since the end of wil given by being too small compared to the scale of the axis.

    I have a smal? button next to some fields in my form.

    I display a message box when the user clicks on this button.

    The message box displays a kind of "help" for the field.
