Atheros a/b/g/n chipset?

A few months back, I bought a Pavilion Elite d5200t ATX. The machine includes an Atheros a/b/g/n wireless with Bluetooth card. I want to update the driver for it but am not sure which chipset of the map is built on. Is it possible for me to know this?

Atheros chipset is quite good, even if HP tends to "remove the fat" a unit of retail good for saving a few cents.  Unit g mode setting.  Also change the channel of the router.  Try the 3, 9 or 11.

The WiFi reception is all about the quality of the signal.  Looking for a wire antenna.  Direct the antenna for best reception.  You will need to build an antenna small parabolic microwave.  This should net an additional bar or two.  You can also buy/build a directional can gain high Wi Fi antenna.  I'm sure you could probably find a guide through GOOG.

Expect to get better reception with a laptop because the screen is used as the antenna.  The metal casing of an office tend to block the microwave signal.

How far are you from the router?  Install the router on the wall, about 2' below the ceiling to improve coverage.  A router with an external antenna should provide better output signal.  Also increase the production of power of the router up if possible.
