Lenovo Ideapad z500 Shutdown of Windows 8.1 questions

Since I installed windows 8.1 I've known issues so that the closing. It seems that windows shuts properly, then the screen goes black and it crashes for like 10-15 minutes with the leds and the fan still runs. After a while the system reboots, even when I clicked on stop. This happens to stop, restart and when he falls asleep. The only way to stop the system right now is to hold the power button and kill the power. Windows doesn't give any errors in the logs. I tried to update all the drivers, disabling quick start in power options and tried to change several power supply options. Nothing has changed.

Could someone help me please?

I downloaded the driver from http://www.atheros.cz/atheros-wireless-download.php?chipset=77&system=5
And it works very well

  • Thickness of Lenovo IdeaPad Z500 HDD; Replacement of SSD

    Hey guys,.

    I own a Z500 IdeaPad with a ST500LM012 HN-M500MBB 500 GB HDD by Samsung.

I would like to do an upgrade with a 1 TB of HDD, I would put in the HARD Drive Caddy (replacement CD/DVD drive).

And I also intend to get an EVO 840 Samsung SSD, I place in the main HARD disk location.

BUT the HARD drive I have now is 9, 5mm thick. And the EVO 840 is 7 mm thick. I have problems in the main HARD disk location?

And are there opportunities that I can fit a 12, 5mm disk in the location of main HARD drive or the HARD drive caddy?

I'm terribly sorry for my English is not my mother tongue.

    Thanks in advance.

medo994 wrote:... HARD drive, I have at the moment is 9, 5mm thick. And the EVO 840 is 7 mm thick. I have problems in the main HARD disk location?

Answer: Page 71 of the Hardware maintenance manual provides 9.5 mm hdd/sdd can be used. If you have the Player 7.0 mm it can also be accommodated.

medo994 wrote:... And are there opportunities that I can fit a 12, 5mm disk in the location of main HARD drive or the HARD drive caddy?

Answer: For the housing of the primary hard drive, the cage hdd/ssd mounting is designed to 9.5 mm, so a 7.0 mm or 9.5 mm hdd/ssd will fit. However, a 12.5 mm will not match. The caddy, you see the caddy if it can accommodate a hard drive of 12.5 mm. You may need to check the side of the caddy against the STRANGE to see if it will fit in the odd-NUMBERED slot.

It's a possibility that you have a problem starting. This does not mean that the hard drive is dying, but it's just the operating system could not be started.

  • Advised by a Lenovo Support Technician that Lenovo IdeaPad u330 that equipped of Windows Vista has been infected

My pc is a Lenovo IdeaPad u330 that running Windows Vista Home Premium 32-bit.  I have 3 PC over a wireless home network.  Recently, I have been instructed by the Lenovo Support telephone call center to enter "cmd" in the Task Manager, did so and was taken to the black C:\WINDOWS\system32\cmd.exe screen.  I had to then enter "cmk", did and received message next-'cmk' is not recognized as internal or external command, an executable program or batch file.  Support staff advised that this indicated my pc has been seriously infected and needed immediate attention.  My pc works well and I have McAfee installed, having received no warning and a complete analysis of all recommended system was OK.  Should I worry or the person was just trying to sell a service?  Thank you.

    Hello

There are no KMC program or command on most computers. So, if we had to
to be a CMK on Lenovo computer (or you) should have Add.

Did you call Lenovo support, or maybe it was one of those false calls trying to get
money or your personal information? Hard to believe that Lenovo would use these tactics
trying to sell a program or service.

  • Expand the partition of drive C on the IdeaPad Z500

    Hi guys,.

I have a laptop of series of Lenovo IdeaPad Z500, that came with a 60 GB drive C for storage/parition.

I'm running out of space and was trying to extend the partition using the tools of Paritioning but I don't get the option to extend the C drive, after creating an unallocated partition (say 10-15 GB). I try so to make my partition of the drive C was around 70-75 GB after the extension of the C drive.

One thing I noticed that I have a score of 300 MB (approx.) just after the C drive. It does not resemble an OKR partition but another thing that I already have a 25 GB of partition OKR.

I'm suspecting that this 300 MB of partition is coming in my way to extend the partition on the C drive, but I'm just guessing. I could be wrong as well.

So, I'm currently stuck here and can't seem to find a way to extend the drive C partition without messing up the configuration OKR.

In addition, I'd appreciate really if someone could tell me how to do a factory default operating system image backup, so I can't run in case my system fails to start at somepoint in time.

When I open the app OKR, it gives me two options: backup & restore system.

I'm also confused here if the backup of the system would make the backup of the complete (with all applications at this stage) operating system? If this is the case, then how can we restore that image in the event of a boot failure?

    Overall, here are my questions:

#How to extend the C drive without affecting the OKR/partition configuration?

#How to restore the backup system image (saved using "Backup system" option OKR App) when the system does not boot? I have to write to a disc or save it to another partition would also work?

#Is there a way to default value of the image image factory so I can use it to install the new OS, in case I have problems with the operating system in the future?

If necessary, I can share the screenshot of the partition table to give you an exact idea how my drive is partitioned.

I would appreciate really no answer on that.

Looking forward to hear from you.

    Kind regards

    Nick

"Therefore, the procedure you mentioned on Page 7 of the post, I should be able to recovery of default of origin of the USB Image and not the 25 GB partition that has already been created for this purpose." Is my understanding correct? »

Comments: The key USB OKR erase everything on your hard drive and recreate the partitions including the operating system. So, it will be as you receive your unit of Lenovo. So don't forget to make a backup of your personal files.

"In case the OKR on laptop breaks because of the re-parititioning of the C drive, I still have the USB for it?

What actually flash as recovery disk, if for some reason, my OS is corrupted and I am unable to start my OKR has messed up too, I would still be able to load/install operating system to factory image on my laptop? »

Comments: In case that spoil you the partitions, you can restore to factory State (actually you can now decide what size of drive C).

  • I resized the partition of C: Lenovo IdeaPad Y500 laptop with the partion of aomei assistant and now I'm not able to start.

Original title: I messed UP WITH MY 8 PREINSTALLED VICTORY AND IT DOES not START NOW

My lenovo ideapad y500 supplied with windows 8 pre installed. I wanted to set/resize partitions as the laptop has been delivered with a single partition (C :). after I resized with the partion of aomei Wizard something happened and now I don't am not able to start. my laptop has been delivered with the pre-installed operating system, and she had no DVD of win8. I dinot do the recovery disks either. Some say that the product key is injected into the bios) , so I neednt worry about losing the win8 original license. any means now what shud I do to get reinstalled 8 victory! where can I download an image of victory 8 to install?

LENOVO has this option of key recovery is not working too now that I changed the partitions. (IE it works if the partitions are unchanged)

    Help, please!

You have an OEM key - make sure that it is the OEM version of win8.

Lenovo has a drive engineering key which one of its options is to repair the functionality of the button a magical touch.

Ask in the Lenovo forum if they can direct you to the download of recovery engineering key a repair disk and how to fix your recovery button.

    http://forums.Lenovo.com

Can you get to a command prompt to start with a system repair disc or the installation or the upgrade disk...

and taste the repair orders bootrec.exe/fixboot would be a good idea to start with.
