I think that if I can fix it a mistake oleaut32 that it will solve all? Oh, I tried the chkdsk command and it will not work up to what my next reboot because the disc is in use... and I do not search the forums for all notes with this file name, but was the only one with windows update issues and I was afraid to try because my updates were actually on the job so far.

  I have a HP Photosmart 3310 that works fine on my XP computer.  When I try to install it on the Windows 7 computer, it installs the drivers, and I can add a new network printer using the IP address.  However the HP All In One install program (AIO_CDB_FSW_Full_Win_WW_130_141) will NOT find the network printer (even with the static IP address).  The HP printer and scanner utilities can find and work (HPPDU & HPSDU).  the HP diangostic untility network works and finds the printer (HPHNDU).

  The problem is that with on Setup search the Photosmart 3310 it won't allow the solution Center HP open and use the scanner.  Can I make a shortcut on the desktop to program scanner?   Where and what is?

  I also tried to plug it into a USB cable and has not received much love from the Setup program.

  The issue of 'Imcomplete Install' returns after a day or two.  Again, this is a brand new computer with a clean installation of windows and Norton, HP, and Government issued smart card software.  Nothing weird.  The other computers in the House are fine.

  I found a solution to the issue of scanner!  I installed the software VueScan from http://www.hamrick.com/ , the software is designed for high end photo editing, so it's a no-brainer for her to scan documents.  The free version works fine. From there on, I copied them into the appropriate folders for the two users on the new HD. Thunderbird will otherwise not them, even if I used each solution and tip, I learned with TB on a dozen years. I worked on number of days following, checked several similar articles on the forum and do not see a solution. (And my tech has never wanted to learn something about Tbird; nor has he had to in the past.)

  I just uninstalled Thunderbird 31.0 and deleted content under TB in App Data records (2) and (2) the Application data on the new drive C:\. I first of all confirmed that all previous data is available on the old HD and that the copy on the external drive is complete and accurate - and without any locking Windows security. Local settings on both old-reader/users folders were locked and could never access, but some TB related files were there in the past.

  What should I do? (1) install an older version of Thunderbird and hope I can marry the old files in? or (2) what can suggest you?

  I solved the problem with a drawer 3 rd (not the best) solution. I put all the profiles of previous TB (with all mail folders) side; then configure new TB accounts access to Gmail and Yahoo mail.
  Once I drained all accumulated mail servers, I'll go through the old records (under the old profiles) and carefully, one at a time, move the folders that I need to keep the local folders account. That method appeared in an another related posts; practical, easy and he killed me.

  You must enter the BIOS to find where the type of HARD disk drive are selected and adjust it.  It may take some trial and error.

  Before you perform any BIOS setting, make a note of what the current setting is where things get worse, you can at least get back to where you were before you started and then seek additional guidance.

  If you find that the mode is set on the RAID/SATA mode, change the IDE mode.

  If you find that the mode is set to SATA, change the IDE mode.

  If you find that the mode is set to SATA, SATA mode off.

  If you find that the mode is set to AHCI, change the ATA mode.

  If you find that the mode is set to AHCI emulation Mode, change the IDE emulation mode.

  If you find that the mode is set to SATA, SATA mode off or change the ATA mode.

  If you find that the mode is set to SATA Native Mode, disable the native SATA Mode.

  If you find that the mode is set on AHCI/RAID Autodetect, change the combination mode.

  After completing the settings, ACCEPT and SAVE changes and reboot the system and see if it the installation detects the drives.

  I hope you will reply back and let us know what you find and what you need to do to get things to work (I do follow the notes).
