ATL.dll

I'm looking to download atl.dll because I can not find it on my computer and am unable to set up my printer without it. Where can download that and what is it used for?

Same methods use however start - RUN if start - research is given.

Start - Run - SFC/scannow

and checkdisk starts similarly.

Rob - bicycle - Mark Twain said it is good.

How can I fix this error? I tried to solve it in Recovery Mode. Forgive me, but I'm kinda a noob. The installation is XP Professional. The BONE has been preloaded, so I don't have the original to load disc, but I have a XP Home disc. I ran chkdsk and removed all the disk errors, but I don't know how to extract a new XP disc atl.dll. Thanks for any help you can provide.

    Ok.

XP has also keep copies of 3498 critical files on the folder c:\windows\system32\dllcache (for future use).  If Windows File Protection detects one of them is missing, it will try to quickly and quietly replace the copy in the dllcache folder.  The atl.dll is one of these files monitored in the list (Yes - there is a list).

You can copy the missing files to this folder by using the Recovery Console too.

Depending on your installation, you can also get copies of missing files here:

    c:\c:\windows\ServicePackFiles\i386

The file should never miss, so if yours had disappeared, I suspect your asked for but unspecified app antivirus/antimalware quarantined (effectively deleted) file.

    AVG, Avira, Avast?

You should check the dllcache folder and if the file is not there, paste a copy there too so PAM has a backup if ever, replace it.

  • ATL.dll is missing from my computer

I have an old Toshiba with Windows XP computer that has a major problem with the atl.dll becoming corupted or deleted somehow the system.  I can't get online, do a system restore and the computer runs VERY slowly.  Any suggestions?

You have not provided a lot of information on your system or even any error message you see, then we will have to guess.

Please provide additional information on your system:

What is your system brand and model?

What is your Version of XP and the Service Pack?

Describe your current antivirus and software anti malware situation: McAfee, Symantec, Norton, Spybot, AVG, Avira!, Defender, ZoneAlarm, PC Tools, MSE, Comodo, etc..

The question was preceded by a loss of power, aborted reboot or abnormal termination?  (this includes the plug pulling, buttons power, remove the battery, etc.)

The afflicted system has a CD/DVD drive work?

You have a true bootable XP installation CD (it is not the same as any recovery CD provided with your system)?

What do not you think that you should see?

How have you determined that the ATL DLL file is missing?

If the ATL. The DLL file is missing, you try to run the system restore, you see the following message is displayed:

Rstrui.exe - Unable to locate component
The application has failed to start because ATL DLL not found.  Reinstalling the application may fix this problem.

If the ATL. DLL file is missing, trying to open the event viewer displays a message like this:

MMC could not create the snap.
MMC could not create the snap.  The snap-in may not be installed correctly.

    Name: Event Viewer
    CLSID: {975797FC-4E2A-11D0-B702-00C04FD8DBF7}

The (SFC) System File Checker utility will not help you because it will not work properly if the ATL DLL file is missing.  It will be launched, but it will just sit there and do nothing.

Even if the System File Checker have run, you will need a CD that has the same Service Pack XP that you have installed on it (in general).  Since it seems that most of the people in the world don't have these requirements, trying to run sfc/scannow usually results in considerable frustration.  Why is he so often offered without also providing the necessary preconditions is beyond me.  SFC should never find something to do anyway, and if so, you have another problem to solve.

If the ATL. The DLL file is missing you will see events like this in the event log (when you get the event viewer run again).

The server {8BC3F05E-D86B-11D0-A075-00C04FB68820} is not registered with DCOM within the required time.

You also will not be able to get on the Internet using any browser.

You need to replace the missing ATL somehow or damaged DLL file, and then figure out why it became missing or corrupted in the first place.

The file might really be missing if he has been quarantined (actually deleted) by your antivirus software.  If the file is simply missing, you can just replace it and then later determine what happened to the file and decide what to do about this.

You can search Windows on your system for ATL DLL and replace the missing file.

THE ATL. DLL file must be in this folder, when things are set up properly (assuming that Windows is installed on your C drive):

    c:\Windows\System32

Check and see if you can find the ATL DLL file in this folder, or if he's really missing, you will need to replace it.

Depending on what applications you have installed, when you search for your ATL DLL system, you can find ATL DLL in several places on your system.  You must be sure get you the correct that belongs in c:\windows\system32.

The most likely place to find a new copy of Atlant. DLL will be in one of these folders:

    c:\Windows\System32\dllcache
    c:\windows\system32\ServicePackFiles\i386

Locate a copy of the correct Atlant. DLL from the file in one of these folders and copy/paste in the folder c:\windows\system32.

Answered in the affirmative if invited to replace the existing file.

THE ATL. DLL file can be used by one or several processes and you will not be able to copy on the top of the file if XP thinks that the file is in use.

If you see a message that the ATL Impossible to copy DLL file because it is being used by another person or you have to replace the file using the XP Recovery Console or a certain type of bootable media.

Do, or do not. There is no test.

Unfortunately, the support engineer technical 'expert' who is hired by the tips from Microsoft to run sfc/scannow will not help you.

I would say that, as usual, the technical support engineer has not bothered to reproduce the problem and tried their own suggestion.

If the atl.dll file is missing, sfc/scannow will launch but it does not work.

It's just another wild goose chaseSupport Engineer.

A lot of things will not work if the atl.dll file are missing.  System Restore will not work, Event Viewer do not work, you will not be able to get on the Internet, etc., until the file has been replaced.

You try to run the system restore, you see the following message is displayed:

Rstrui.exe - Unable to locate component
The application has failed to start because ATL DLL not found.  Reinstalling the application may fix this problem.

Try to open the event viewer, you see a message like this:

Running sfc/scannow will be launched, but it will not run if the ATL DLL file is missing and you will see events like this in the event log (when you arrive, it works again):

The server {8BC3F05E-D86B-11D0-A075-00C04FB68820} is not registered with DCOM within the required time.

You can't get on the Internet using any browser.

You have to somehow replace the missing or damaged file.

The file might really be missing if he has been quarantined (actually deleted) by your antivirus not specified.  If the file is simply missing, you can just replace it and then later determine what happened to the file and decide what to do about this.

Answered in the affirmative if invited to replace the existing file.

There is a copy of the file on my SkyDrive, you can download a system not affiliated and then copy the file to a Flash DRIVE or a floppy disk and apply it on the afflicted system c:\windows\system32 folder.  Here's how:

I downloaded a copy of XP Pro SP3 file you need on my SkyDrive (everyone has a SkyDrive for file sharing).

You can download it and when you do, place a copy of the file in these two folders (assuming that Windows is installed on your C drive):

    c:\Windows\System32
c:\Windows\System32\dllcache (this is where XP keeps backups of important files).

Here is the link to my SkyDrive and you can get the file you need here:

    https://SkyDrive.live.com/?CID=6a7e789cab1d6f39&ID=6A7E789CAB1D6F39! 311

When you see the files available for download, you can not see the file extension (.exe, .dll, .cpl, .sys, .zip, etc.), but when download you them they will have the right extension.

When you download the file (especially if you use Internet Explorer), when you get a chance to save the file, your browser is unable to save the file with an extension (by example, .exe, .dll, .cpl, .sys, .zip, etc) then you will need to manually add the extension appropriate to the file when you download the file before you save it.

You can download the file without the extension, and then rename the file to add the appropriate extension.  You do not want to use a file called atl when the name of the file should really be called atl.dll (if the downloaded file has no extension, you will need to change the name of the file to add the appropriate extension to make it work.

You then put the downloaded files in the correct folders on your system.

  • Question of destination.msi Windows Vista Sidebar

When I try to start Windows Sidebar, I get a windows pop up, the search for file destination.msi.
    How can I fix it?

Okay, it looks like this problem occurs from time to time. But you can try the following:

First, you must open the command prompt, but with right click "run as Administrator".
Then navigate with the command CD to the following folder: C:\progam Windows sidebar.
OK, now you would type the following:

    1. regsvr32 sbdrop.dll u (after each order approve with the button ENTER)

    2 regsvr32 u wlsrvc.dll

    3 regsvr32 atl.dll

    4 regsvr32 sbdrop.dll

    5 regsvr32 wlsrvc.dll

Done, your sidebar should work again.

I've been reading around and went through various procedures i.e. re-record msiexec, you reload regsvr32 ATL.dll, I made scrubber lvl 4, I rebooted with the latest version of the software, I did the procedure to turn off my MSoft startup, programs, etc., I uninstalled with disk, then all the HP uninstaller of windows, then washer twice and complete still wont install. prints well but does not complete the installation so I can use the solution center to configure my scanner to PDF. Oh, and it worked for about a year. then bam. Phew! ideas?

    HI chuckshot,

OK, it is possible that there is something in the operating system that might contribute to the installation to fail or there is a problem of real hardware with the printer. At this point, my suggestion would be to use the same USB cable and try to install the printer on another computer to see if you encounter the same problems. Once, we can isolate the hardware or the operating system, it will be easier to figure out our next steps. Let me know what you find?

No idea what setting it may be? I already checked User Configuration / Administrative Templates/Windows Components/Windows Update andComputer Configuration / Administrative Templates/Windows Components/Windows Update

All the settings there are not configured. Subkeys of WU policy deleted the registry as suggested in another thread here.

    Help!

Phew, I managed to get it working again. Here's the solution that worked for me:

    Open the regedit.exe

    * Navigate to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer

    * Delete subkey named NoWindowsUpdate (if it exists)

No need to reboot. Windows Update should now work correctly.

You can change this question of 'Response' now.

  • Scramble in the sidebar!

I recently installed service pack 2.  After that, whenever I started, Windows Sidebar gadgets were totally out of order.  I ended up having to readjust the scrambled gadgets whenever I started.  Is he everything known "cure" so that I can always have service pack 2 but use my sidebar normally?

  • Error: 80070426-Windows Update may not install as Cryptographic Services does not start.

    Hello!

As you can guess Windows Update is not installed for a few months. Cryptographic services does not start . CPP is the beginning.

    Error: 80070426

Already tried a few suggestions MSKB.

Method 2: Set Cryptographic Services to automatic, network logon. Result: Error (unsigned) 1083
Method 3: Rename the Catroot2 folder
Reregister DLL files that are associated with Cryptographic Services.
However, suite couldn ' t be installed.

    regsvr32 initpki.dll
    regsvr32 gpkcsp.dll

    regsvr32 sccbase.dll
    regsvr32 slbcsp.dll

DCOM service - access denied when running.

sfc/scannow couldn't fix some corrupted files.

Computer HP laptop came with Vista pre-installed, so I do not have the repair disk.

No doubt the system restore won't help, as I remember recently that c-Cleaner wiped the old restore points.

NOD32 Antivirus + Spyware Doctor still running. Already run MSRT and Super Spyware, but nothing much.

    Kindly help!

    Kind regards

    Satyajit

    Thank God!

Finally, I worked it out myself. But it's painful to watch than virtually any other that Uday has responded to my problem. Something I've been waiting for so eagerly.

I applied my common sense and defragmented the dirives then sfc/scannow, and it worked. Cryptographic Services said when I began to log in as network account. So my problem is solved. Now, windows update works fine.

Interestingly, Microsoft Fix it, says it cannot start the Cryptographic Services. Are God, while the _____ you supposed to difficulty? It made Internet Explorer icon on my desktop and other places.

  • Windows Vista update keeps freezing

I can't download updates. Be it, via the updates Panel or start menu. my computer hangs or displays the window to come but that's it. I have the reminder keep poppin saying I need to update, but the damn thing won't let me. I even tried to do it manually, same problem. It's not my firewall or any other security stuff, I already tried D.L with everything turned off.

Thanks if there is someone who can actually help them, God knows that Microsoft won't!

Just another problem with windows that gives me envy, I bought a Mac!

    Hello sionnaine, welcome.

Although these steps are quite thorough, I recommend trying to see if it solves your problem:

  • Windows updates errors

    Hello
I contacted dell on the no funtion of the updates of windows and a guy had a problem because when it restored her computer, she restored to the original version of the defender and updated and so did not work. I did the same and Dell sent me to goole search Windows Install Cleanup 'msiccu2.exe' then on the microsoft Web site and download defender of widows. I stopped here because my computer would not allow me overcopy my Defender. Later the resolution of problems of Dell, was to go to defemder click on service amd and choose automatic. Well I don't get that far. The last part of the enamel was download version created 1.55.314.0 on the 23.3.09 uppdated.

Well, I have now become lost and in step 2, he asked to support active-x, I could too, but it did not allow me to continue the successful download of the Defender. In continuing research, I lost all of my favorite url addresses and don't know how I should restore wimdows updates that ceased in October 2008 when I had to restore my computer because of the commissioning of freezing.

Someone can help me before I throw myself into the deep waters, like I'm drowning with this problem and wonder what to do.

    Thank you very much

    Hi innerda,
    Thanks for the response back.

Try the following steps to resolve the problem with the windows updates.

To resolve this issue automatically, try the following:

    1. open the following link: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/956699/en-us
2 go to the "fix it for me" section. Download the tool and save it to your computer. Run the tool. After the completion of the process, restart the computer and try to check the updates of windows now.

To resolve the problem manually or if you are not able to follow the steps above, follow these steps:

If there are damaged files C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution or catroot2 files, try running these commands in an elevated command prompt. To do this, click on start and type cmd in the box start the search. In the results, right-click on cmd.exe area, then click on "Run as Administrator". You will be asked to type the password for an administrator account. If you are the administrator or type the administrator password, click on continue. Then click on continue. At the command prompt, type the following commands one by one and press ENTER after each command.
    -net stop wuauserv
    -net of stop bits
    -net stop cryptsvc
    -ren %windir%\SoftwareDistribution SoftwareDistribution.old
    -ren %Windir%\System32\catroot2 catroot2.old
    -net start wuauserv
    -net start bits
    -net start cryptsvc
    Exit the command prompt.

Create a batch file and copy the following content into it, and then double-click on it to re - register modules or dll files. Open 'Computer', click the 'Tools' menu and click on "folder options". Go to the 'View' tab uncheck "hide extension for known file types". Click 'Ok' at the bottom of the window.
Now, right-click on your desktop, choose 'New' and then choose 'Text Document', then press ENTER twice. Paste the following commands. Click on 'file', then 'save '. Give a name like "test" and save the file. Now right-click on the file, click "Rename." Rename the file "test.txt" in "test.bat". Press on enter and if prompted, click on "continue". Once you see that the file name has changed to "test.bat", double-click on the file that runs the scripts.
