Attribute filter incorrect filter elements

Hi all

I had this problem using the attribute filter, and I don't know if it's because I'm using the tool incorrectly or simply a bug in FrameMaker (but I suspect the former).

Basically, I import an XML document into FM that looks like this:

< root >

< elem1 / >

< elem2 attr = "true" / >

< elem3 attr = "false" / >

< elem4 attr = "true" / >

< / root >

And then I use a filter attribute to apply a condition (let's call it "Changed") to all elements which have attr = 'true' by using the expression: (attr = "true")and another condition ("Unchanged") to those with attr = "false" using the expression: (attr = 'false')

However, the results I get are exactly the opposite! (attr = 'true') applied the condition of "Changed" to all the elements that have the attr = 'false', and (attr = 'false') apply the "Unchanged" status to those with attr = 'true '.

If someone could get an idea about why this happens, I would be very grateful.

Thank you

Carl

Carl,

You're not the only user who find filter by attribute is counterintuitive. The underlying model seems to assume you want to keep the content to an expression and filter the content that does not match. However, the only items that are put to the test to see if they match are those with values, explicit or default, for all attributes mentioned in the expression.

Thus, it seems that filtered text are made up of elements that have explicit or defaulted, values for all attributes which appear in the applied expression but which do NOT match this expression. Therefore, if you want to apply the condition Changed to items with the value 'true' attr, use the expression NOT(attr="true"). to apply the condition Unchanged, use the expression NOT(attr="false"). To apply one or the other condition to each element that defines this attribute, apply the two expressions.

If no default value for attr is assigned on the FM band (independently), or expression will apply a condition on an element that does not define the attribute. If there is a default value, the default value will determine how the elements that do not define the attribute are treated.

If you change the setting of the attribute, reapply the expressions, checking remove it if previously applied box.

  • Cannot set attribute of the param element value using javascript in setAttribute

    When adding the items param via createFragment the javascript in setAttribute function does not set the "value" attribute It is necessary to set the nodetext to add this attribute to the value of the param element.

    Second, when using the method of the generated html code defines the 'value' to the innerHTML. HTML code resulting in the display by "Inspect the system" looks like this.

    < parameter id = "myID" > myValue < / param >

    Note: [the element close text < / param > is displayed correctly using inspect, but when using file-> SavePageAs the end text is not saved correctly.] I reported this in another question of moz. support FF.]

    function setparamAttrs (parmID, parmVal)
    {

    var gData = document.createDocumentFragment();

     var newNode = document.createElement("param");
     var textStr = document.createTextNode(parmVal);
     newNode.appendChild(textStr);

     newNode.setAttribute("id", parmID);
     //newNode.setAttribute("value", parmVal); // this does not work
     //newNode.setAttribute("innerHTML", parmVal); //this does not work

     gData.appendChild(newNode);
     document.body.appendChild(gData);

    }

    However, I was able to retrieve the "value", once it has been added using:

    var val = document.getElementById("parm0").value;)

    getAttribute ("value") does not work either.

    Finally, I added the param elements to my HTML code like this.
    < parameter id = "myID" > myValue < / param >. Then I tried to extract the value using document.getElementById("myID").innerHTML. No text has been returned. When I looked at the HTML document with inspect my HTML param element is displayed as < param id = "myID" > myVal. The closing text of the element has not the same when I use SavePageAs which I mentioned previously.

    Yes, this is the correct way to this code and it works for me without any problem.

  • BUG: 4.2/5.0 interactive reports: attributes inconsistent/incorrect HEADERS in control break total lines

    When pause control and global actions are applied to an interactive report, the headers attributes generated for cells in the total break lines are incorrect.

    The cell in the total row headers attributes must contain the values of the id attributes of the column headings that apply to the total cell, which is the ID of the header cell of column with the header of the previous control break cell. In this example, the headers value of the total cell Dept 10 Sal to line 24 should consist of the value of "SAL" (line 12) Sal column header ID and the ID "BREAK_DEPTNO_1" of the line of control break Dept 10 (line 3). Instead, it includes the value 'BREAK_DEPTNO_2' of the Next control pause (line 29). The problem repeats for the ex-post control breaks. However, the model is incompatible, and the values for the final control (86 and 107) break lines are correct.

    This problem exists in APEX 4.2 and persists (even if using a different pattern of ID) to 5.0.

    Hello

    My apologies for the delay in responding and thank you for the detailed description of the issue.

    I could easily replicate this and filed bug 20889405 to follow, which will fix us as soon as possible. There is no workaround solution currently I'm afraid.

    Thanks again for posting this.

  • Inserting Image mystery using the attribute in the structured element

    I work in FM10 on Windows XP Pro. However, the models at the company where I am currently Contracting have been developed over the years, since the FM 7 or 8, with different authors and developers to refine their. Which makes them difficult to decipher at times.

    Currently, I'm trying to understand how elements of the notes works so I can fix it to work when you bind the FM source files to RoboHelp. When you click on the 'Note' parent element, you can choose from four different attributes (as shown below for ESD): note, tip, caution and warning.

    When you choose one of these attributes, it automatically inserts a graphic symbol (exclamation point, star, pencil, etc.). You then choose the next child element that creates a paragraph directly to the right of the graphic symbol.

    The problem is, I can't understand where this chart comes in the parent element and associated attributes. I thought it must be extracted from the style of paragraph, either as an image of the reference page and or symbols of the numbering of the paragraph Designer section. But I'm not either of those things anywhere. For what it's worth, the graphics look like they come from a police (see screenshot).

    The word "note" comes to the next child element and the associated paragraph style, it is designated in the numbering/AutoNumber Format: box with an associated font. The lines above and below it are similarly advanced/Frame Above / Below the FMP: setting. All this is quite easy; the attribute image... not so much.

    Can anyone tell me please where to hunt for the source of this image attribute insertion?

    Hi Douglas,.

    I think I thought about it, although I can't prove it, but my inability to prove it is maybe the evidence itself. I know this is no logic, so please read on...

    In summary, I think that the images are caused by prefixes text inserted by ESD for the element, using the Zapfdingbats font.

    To review/summarize the structural architecture, your notes are made up of

    ... etc.

    ... Where he is the element which is containing the image and the , etc. items that contain the text of the note.

    My first idea was that when I open your file, I do not see the images; However, instead of one of the pictures missing, I get a message of missing fonts (and I have no Zapfdingbats). Here are the rules of prefix for the element (rough paste):

    There are a whole bunch of prefixes text in there, but most use the Zapfdingbats font. This font is just a bunch of small icons as pencil your screenshot shows the image. For example, the line:

    Prefix: \t/

    .. .will be insert a tab, then a slash in Zapfdingbats. I bet that if you apply Zapfdingbats to one of you to the paragraphs, and then type a forward slash, you will get one of those pictures you've been see.

    The evidence would be to change these characters in the prefix rules and see if the images change. Because I have not the police, I can't do it. But because I can't do, it proves to me that the source is indeed the police and the prefix characters. Make sense now?

    P.S. I've tried the info here: http://forums.adobe.com/message/4521914

    I think that the problem is that your version 2.0 manifesto, dark icons were not added to the manifest until the 3.0 schema. Buidler extension valid your manifesto against the 2.0 schema, that's why he complains. If you change the manifest extension version 3.0 (in the ExtensionManifest tag) then I would expect these warnings go away. It looks like your targets to extend CS5 - CS6, in theory, the CSXS in CS5 version might have flipped up using CSXS 3 (SC6) manifest, but I think CSXS will ignore simply any element, it does not include (for example the dark icon tags).

    Hope that helps!

    Is there anywhere I can get a list of the different actions that do not exist for me to process on the different points of the apex page onKeyUp, onChange, etc.. I tried Googleing but without success. I wish especially to the associated actions of LOV

    Thank you

    Chris

    Chris,

    If you mean you want a list of events, here's a good reference http://www.w3schools.com/tags/html5_ref_eventattributes.asp. There is more info on HTML and JS, not created Apex of events. So all you need to do is look something like "HTML elemets events..."

    Thank you

  • JDEV 12.2.1 Filter Table with attribute having entered LOV

    Hello

    I have a few attribtues vo which are associated with the list of values the type of default list in the indications of the user interface is text with LOV input.

    When I drag and drop this table on a page, this attribute displays a text box and a magnifying glass in the facet of the attribute filter when I run. In design time, there is no facet of explicit filter on the page not the magnifying glass is not displayed.

    This code works in 11 g in a different way. The facet of the filter attribute only shows a text entry.

    Pointers here? I explicitly put the choicelist in the filter of the table facet? I don't want the LOV entry to appear. It's heavy for the user to filter records with so many clicks.

    I think to explicitly put a text entry in the filter pane and check if it works.

    He will probably still run (and validate the) lov model-driven.

    If nothing else can help, maybe you can add transitional attribute to your VO, attach lov and complete the transitional real than lov attribute.

  • Filter attribute does not

    Recently, I came across this problem in LR 4.4 for some reason any.

    When in the library module, I can select "All photos" and the 'Stars' attribute filter works without any problem.

    However, when I select a folder "Collections" and try to use the attribute filter, all the photos seem to disappear. Once I remove the filter attribute (in this case notation 1 stars or higher), the images appear again in the collection folder.

    Here is the image without the selected attribute 1: http://snag.gy/iqXmK.jpg

    Here are 2 with 1 star or filter selected the image: http://snag.gy/TZ9cl.jpg

    Any help is appreciated, it's driving me crazy!

    Hello

    Could you please try and create another collection and try to use the attribute in the newly created collection.

    Let me know if it works in a newly created collection or not.

    Kind regards

  • How do you remove the filter by the attributes of the Conrefs, but still conrefs display

    We use the FM8 Tech Comm suite 1 in a Windows XP environment.

    We have created a number of conrefs, and they do not display unless we had a filter by attribute > show all.

    Synopsis of the problem:

    We have created a conref, as we normally do and placed in the same directory as the map and the concept (target). In my case, the conref is a concept that contains a table.  We inserted the conref in the doc of the target and it appears correctly. However, when we save, it does not, unless we select special > filter by attribute > show all. We can save and reopen the doc, and it is still displayed. If she does not have the attribute filter > show all selected, all what we see at the beginning of the document is a marker of conditional text.

    When we created the conref, four attribute expressions are available. We tried to remove all of these expressions of the conref.

    In the target document where the conref is inserted, we choose special > conditional text > show/hide conditional text selected DITA Conref show. The conrefs are then displayed.  However, when we close the document and reopen it, we lost the conrefs, and the DITA Conref is more selected.

    Any ideas?

    Hi Mary...

    Modify application heading (and book) patterns structured and set the condition of DITA Conref to display by default. I don't know why that would have been defined to hide (hmm... maybe you have created your own applications and do not add these conditions?) ... but when you open a file DITA conditional parameters in the template are applied to replace those that the file has been saved with. Here are the typical location of the subject model...

    C:\Program Files\Adobe\\Structure\xml\DITA\app\DITA-Topic-FM\topic.template.fm

    I think that this * should * solve your problem.

    See you soon,.
