I recorded my audio using the integrated Captivate recording tools. When I play the slides singley, the sound is fine. However, when I preview the entire project or when I publish the project, I have a slide (#33), which is picking up audio from the last slide in the deck (total 76 slides). When I look back on the slide in edit mode, the audio track is good. Yet when I publish, it still goes to the last slide. #33 slide timing is correct, it's just the audio that will not.
I made minor changes to such audio synchronization as recommended by others, then re-recorded the project. But at the time of publication, the audio evil is always associated with the slide.

To rgcunningham, thanks for your suggestion. After struggling for hours, I found a solution before your answer came through. My solution can also help TechSoup who seems to have the same problem I had.
I realized the audio played poorly in my presentations viewed and published (Yes, it happened more than once) ends up being my slide 'END' which is considered at the end of each lesson. ('Close this lesson... ") I found out, it's the audio file for my slide to END, that I created in the first (out of seven) lessons and reused for the remaining six lessons, was automatically issued a number of audio diary of Captivate. Whenever I pasted the slide to END in a lesson that had another slide with the same number of audio newspapers, attached Captivate audio range regardless of the slide had another as audio.
For example, the original END slide has published 'audio file 32' Captivate. (You can tell the number of audio clip by hovering over the audio section of the script but also hovering over the audio files in the library). This means that my first lesson had 32 blades, each blade had an audio file as an attachment. In lesson two, I had only 28 slides, so I have no problem. But in my third lesson, I had 37 slides, which included my copied original END slide 32 and his audio attachment. And slide 32 in the third lesson ends by playing the END slide audio in preview/publish modes. The copied slide to END is not yet its own audio as it is supposed to.
My workaround was to go to lesson its original library file, find audio of the slide to the END ('audio file 32') and rename the audio clip of the original slide to END as 'END of Audio. Then I went back to my other lessons playing bad audio because their slides #32, deleted the original slide to the END and replaced by one who had the renamed audio file.
So for TechSoup, the issue may be that he has somehow two audio files with the same name. If so, rename one of the files may well solve your problem.
An embedded MP4 does not play when published as swf. The PlayBar is where. The swf embedded on the page works OK. I downloaded all the files generated to the Web site. Any ideas?
I have not used the program for a while, so I'm a little rusty and I just know Captivate 8, so I hope I'm just something stupid. Oh yes, when I first publish and choose to view the project, he plays. If something must be different when it's moving online?

Hello! I'm pretty new to Flash, I consider myself a beginner, but recently I've been commissioned to do an animation for someone! There is a song played in the animation, it is a wav and it is on its own layer. There are also drawings that I imported in too.
My problem is, I want to be able to synchronize the little drawings for the lyrics of the song, but the sound does not play when I starts at 0 on the timeline. If I had to start we are going to say plot of 24, it will not play. Does anyone know how to fix this? This commission must be completed by Wednesday and it's a process S L O W, duty again only to hear as one or two words later
Change the property to sync (in the properties panel after you click the keyframe where starts your sound) of the workflow event. Repeat the test.
Hi all! I'm looking for more help, here. I have been troubleshooting for a while and can't seem to find a solution to the problem I am facing.
I recorded a few training video systems using Captivate 7 who don't play, once the projects are published. I retouched it and they work fine in the preview, but once I publish to SWF format, they do not play. At least not properly. The screen image is not, nor is audio playback. Some sporadic animations, I put in place appear and seem to follow the chronology of the original video, however.
It seems not important to know if I publish these files in a ZIP file or not. I test these on a Sharepoint site, but they will be eventually displayed at the LMS of my company.
Someone has experienced this before? Anyone has any advice that can help me to go beyond this technical problem?
Post your content SCORM cloud LMS online and test it there. If the video works of SCORM Cloud nothing change, then your problem is with the way that Sharepoint is implemented. If the video does not work in SCORM Cloud, there is something wrong with the way your project is set up. Maybe the link to the video file always shows a path to the video file that is valid on your own machine, which means that the link will break when the content is placed anywhere else.
The way that a file is used on the client computer is determined by the way you set its file type on your server and the configuration of the individual browser to support. Basically, you have little control here, especially with an ASX file. A more accessible way to read audio data in a browser is through Flash/SWF. You can google for 'flowplayer' find a free option that does not require you to own Flash.
I am currently working on an Adobe Captivate 7 project in which I am importing audio slide by slide. Each blade has a bit of audio that plays when you enter it and then stops. Random on about 5 screens for some reason any audio plays and then audio plays the next slide as well. I can't find something in the settings or actions that happens and I double checked the audio files several times to make sure this isn't a problem here. When I preview the slide using F3, it plays only the audio slide show as it should, but when I do a real preview or publish it plays next audio slide as well. Help, please!

Make sure that there is at least a small space between the beginning and the end of the audio on the timeline of each slide. Captivate sometimes concatenates audio clips, if they are hard against the beginning or end of the timeline for the slide.
I created a number of edge successfully Animation files, but I encountered a problem with a file that will not play when published or when you use the "Preview in browser". It is visible at the start but not auto play. Tips to solve this problem? Using Firefox 21.0 FWIW.

He'll just black on the screen, then finally plays again. (Obviously), he plays the same way on the DVD I burned using Windows DVD maker. What can happen? What should I change? As I said, in Movie Maker, he plays throughout and leaves no transitions, titles or clips. Thanks for any help!

It may be worth trying to go to... Tools / Options / Compatibility tab and Uncheck all filters / OK.
Maybe some of your video clips are not fully compatible with the film Maker. Even if they can play when on the timeline... compatibility question arises when the project is published in a final movie WMV file.
FWIW... Several formats are apparently compatible with Movie Maker but the most reliable choices are:
Photos - bmp
Video - wmv or dv - avi
Audio - wav, wma, wmv
And sometimes make a project as large and complex can cause problems.

I now have a. CP file has audio silent when published. I don't see any parameters global tahgt woud have disabled in audio. I tried some re-import audio... no cookie.
Audio appears in the slides and plays fine in edit mode.
I have created a new. CP and imported an audio file. He published very well with audio.

Stupid question, but stupid things sometimes happen: you can check publication settings (in preferences, project): is "Audio Include" active?
I would like to have a click box that plays a short audio file when you click it, much the way you can have a view of the legend and a playing audio file with a bearing. It seems that there is no way to get the 'success on click' action to be 'read the audio file '. I can associate an audio file with the box click on the Audio tab, but this makes the audio file play automatically when the click box, not display when clicked.
If someone was able to get an audio file to play when the user clicks on a click box, as I describe it, without connection to another slide and without the help of a button? I don't want to use a button because the real object that is clicked is a box of nail on something else. The highlight box means that there is more information about the highlighted item.
In addition, I don't want to create a branch to another slide, because they are really short texts of audio presentation bit, and I have three of them.
I prefer to have interactivity on a slide, rather that force the user to navigate around.
If anyone did what I describe and has ideas, I welcome them. At this point, I think a bearing with legend and play on the mouse on an audio file can be the best thing, except if the user moves the mouse out of the hotspot, the sound stops. Maybe it's not bad anyway, but thought I'd check here everything first before resorting to a reversal.

Thanks a lot for your answer. Hmm... I think in my situation, workaround to reread the previous slide to reset the box click doesn't work. Before arriving at these interactive click boxes, the slide has other text and audio playback. Start the slide would re-read everything until the blade stops, then display the interactive elements. However, I think that something like that might work for a project where the interactive stuff "starts" immediately on the slide. It's simply not how mine is set up at this stage. I think that the legend of attached with audio reversal will probably be my best option right now.
Captivate 8 - video integration problems. Video won't play Web server when published under the title of course HTML5 and video is selected to play in the same screen. Play video it works only in a new window. The problem is the customer's requested integrated video and it shows as an option in Captivate 8. In addition, the video screen is not at the same place on the screen, the image moves to the top of the browser window in Internet Explorer. Graphics problems appear ONLY in IE and Chrome for PC. We have updated browsers, installed all updates to Captivate 8 etc.
The issue seems to be with internet explore. The url is *.mp4, if IE browser opens Media player in a new window to read the files.
Workaround solution:
Instead of using the interaction of the Web object, you can use a Web object (objects-> Web) site in the menu object.
After insertion, select the code incorporated in the style of the real property section. (Screenshot below)
Encapsulate the url in an HTML video tag and use it as input.
