    Hi all

My first problem I can't understand mine. I did a search through old messages using several key words and couldn't find it.

    -Sansa Fuze worm-1...

    -New firmware dated 12/27/09

    Mode - MSC

I buy the audio book CD and then extract them to MP3 so I can listen to on the "rocket". I put all the MP3 of the book in a directory, use Mp3tag to put in place a track number, title, author, and such then I drag the folder to the folder "audiobook" on the "rocket".

I start to play the first file, and most things work very well. The documents in the file and I cannot FF or REW in this file. When this file is complete, the "rocket" ahead to the next file of its own. Bookmarking works fine. When I try to use the 'next' button to move to the next file, however, nothing happens. If I try to use the 'back' button to go to the previous file, nothing happens. Very strange.

The button works fine when I'm listening to MP3 music. I can jump forward or backward through the tracks normally. It is the same with podcasts.

I don't normally jump before the audio book titles, but sometimes I'll do it if I lose interest in the book and hope to find something more interesting on a next track.

Thanks in advance for any help with this one.

    See you soon.

Generic audio books works a little bit differently from the Audible.  New audio book functionality, allowing any type of playable, always has the option of cool chapter mode, but it functiond otherwise than by playing an Audible book.

Sound files have chapter breaks that can be selected in the part of the main work.  "Regular" audio books have just chapter-titles.  Try to select the chapter mode; It affects to jump between tracks.

  • Markers of audible rewind for podcasts and audio books

I use my Sansa Clip mainly to listen to podcasts and audio books. Sometimes when I'm listening, I can zone out and lose track of what is said, which means that I have to go back. Sometimes, I just need to go back and hear something new. Would be nice if I could go back without actually looking at the camera. Here's the feature suggestion: Add a "tick" every 10 seconds, say, rewind. In this way, we could easily rewind 10, 20, or 30 seconds or whatever, without having to look at the device.

That would be nice, but fast forward fast/back speed is progressive.  Faster it will go any further.  If you want to go back just 10 seconds, calculate how long you must hold down the key.  "One thousand" is maybe 10 seconds and so on.

  • Issue of audio books

Just got my Fuze + listen to audio books.  Is it possible to rewind or fast-forward an audio book?

Thanks for any help you can give me.

Press and hold the side left or right side of the touchpad and it should move quickly.

  • Cannot advance from .wma to .wma file when the files are contained in the audio books folder

I have a few low bitrate of the things the word .wma files and load them into the folder of audio books of the Clip +.  I did this because these files seemed to be closer to an audio book than music.  I loaded the MSC mode.  There is no DRM on the .wma files.  I created a playlist .m3u files.  When I played them back, I couldn't jump between these .wma tracks.  I could fast forward and rewind through them but not to jump.  I thought it was really strange.

I ended up moving these files in the audio books folder in the music folder, and I could jump between tracks very well during playback.

I have to admit that I don't know a lot about audio books and I did a google search and I don't seem to find anything that could prevent or discourage people from being able to skip between tracks on when you listen to an audiobook.

Someone knows what's going on here or can see this problem themselves?  I'm not supposed to be able to jump between tracks in the audio books folder?

    Thanks for your help.

If you press the [down] key during playback and look at the settings, is chapter mode (Ch Mode) on or off?

If set to off, you must pause and hold the left/right button to skip tracks (I think that the purpose of this measure is to avoid accidentally changing track when you wanted to only go fast forward or rewind).

You can set Ch. Mode = we and get the behavior you expected, but it could move through a tedious track.

  • IPod Classic (5th generation) runs irregularly on audio books.  Have reset, but nothing helped.

I have an Ipod with click wheel and video display, 30 GB that is running very erratic lately when I'm listening to audio books.  I have reset, but this doesn't seem to help.  Restoration possibly help?  Sometimes it goes back early in the book, sometimes it won't go forward.

You can try the command reset the settings .  This command is on the settings on the iPod screen.  It should be at the bottom of the list.  This resets all the settings of the iPod, where a damaged framework is at the origin of the problem.

Another thing to try is to remove all the audio books of the iPod, in changing the Automatic iPod sync, giving (in iTunes) NO synchronization of audio books (disable the synchronization of audio books).  Sync iPod to remove audio books.  Then, set up the synchronization of audio books, once again, as if it were before.  Sync iPod to add audio books.  See if there is a difference with fee copy files to iPod audiobook.  NOTE: If you use the Manual setting to load audio books, the process of removing the iPod audio books is different; You can post back for more information.

If this does not help, he can you want to do a restore on the iPod using iTunes.  This erases iPod, reinstall its software and sets it to the default settings.

  • Audio book in failure

First time in the display, so if I did something wrong I will apologize. I tried to solve this problem through other e-mails and tips etc, so kind of tired.

I tried to review some of the related posts, but still, it doesn't make sense as to what went wrong.

    Here's the question:

I have a Sansa Fuze 4 GB, aged from a few months and it has worked perfectly! I use it mainly download audio books from my library using Overdrive Media Console software. I quickly learned after useful comments how to load books into the Audiobook folder properly and they run a lot! So the long and short of it is that I decided that I would like to buy one for my mother. I downloaded a book for her in mine to give it a try and BINGO, it is upwards! Nothing is different, same settings, same download location, same format file and instead, the book appears 8/8, rather than 1/8. When it comes to the end, instead of moving forward, he's going to pause, then stops. I removed and loaded again and the same thing. In the meantime, however, I had downloaded a book for me and that was very good and I'm listening with no problems. It's what makes no sense. I tried to download the other 2 books, and again, I have the same problem in the mess. I read on the tag information, but they are WMA files and also I never had any problems. Everything has always been great, but not now.

I hope that gives you enough information. Have to get it resolved or I'll take hers because she can't deal with any kind of technical frustration.

.wma files too have tags. And if a man does not have track numbers, they do not play in the right order. This book was obviously mislabelled.

You can edit the tags (same .wma tags) with mp3tag.

  • Reading audio books

I just started using my Sansa Clip +.  I use it for audio books.  When it's time to go to the next section instead of going forward, he goes to the rear.  For example if Chapter 5 is done, it automatically goes to 4 instead of 6.  Any thoughts on how to deal with this?

You have turned on chapter mode?

  • Restart of Audio books on the fuse.

It is too difficult to restart an audiobook podcast of the fuse section +.   If you are on Chapter 20, playing music, and back, will give you the option to resume. But instead of taking the easy option at 20/25 leads to 1/10.  He will play 20 and then 1 of the last 10 files of podcasts/audiobooks played last - not the rest of the book.  To go to 21 as is again: not the thing you want to do when driving.  The other option is, when you get in the car, go to Chapter 20 (as again) and forward in time (11 of 34 minutes), select read and lock the screen, and then put the car on the road.

1/10 in audio books has no value.  Even with a podcast I won't hear the file the same type next - step 1 of 10 of the past.

I hesitate to say this, but the old fuse was much better.  You can play all audio books on the drive a few minutes at a time.  You can pick up a book a month later and do not have to remember the chapter.   You can also do the same thing on a podcast.  You don't need to remember what Car Talk podcast, you were the last.

Please do not suggest buying an old gambler.  I have 4 new units.   I have two old units that wear out.  I hope the fix will come until my backup devices fail completely.

She would also find the book 20 if album art has not shown to the left, once you have selected a book.  It is sometimes a guessing game to find the book 20.

It's a lot less of a problem for me now.  I was tempted to remove this ad, but I well there could be someone who would love what I understand.

This isn't the perfect solution, but it works for me.

When I want to restart an audiobook in the podcasts section after playing on the radio. I make use of the display of the last 10 files.  It's the first thing you see when you go back to the section of the book.  The first thing I do is press the play button.  The unit will start playback of the file where I left.  While this file is read, or paused, press the back button.  Choose the book that you were playing in the list and scan the mP3 files in the book for files that have a play or mark indicating a break. Select this file.  Opt to resume playback when asked.  You are finished.

Quick and easy with a little practice.

  • Playback speed of audio books

I seriously think to pick up a Sansa Fuze for an Audiobok reading tomorrow, but I have a few questions that have not been adequately answered in the forums.

I need the "rocket" to be able to support audio books MP3 function, that I myself CD rip (usually 1 file per CD).  I need to be able to accelerate playback of these files and remember the playback position of the file I am listening.

I'm also a Mac user, so I need to be able to drag and drop.

The "rocket" will do what I need?

    Andy

The "rocket" has a fast setting for audibooks, but this is only about 20-25% faster, and there is no pitch correction (voice sound unnatural to use it). Some say that Rockbox (an alternative firmware for the "rocket") works better for browsing than the original firmware, however, Rockbox is not supported by Sandisk, and the use of Rockbox on a Sandisk player voids the warranty.

I don't know any mp3 player that a quick reading of high quality with pitch correction using the original firmware. I have not yet used Rockbox, but am tempted to try one one of my players. Rockbox can destroy a player, so use it at your own risk.

The "rocket" remembers the position of lat played in a podcast or audio book file. It can be used with a Mac.

  • Fast forward and rewind

When I play a file and want to move forward towards a particular point in time registration or back controls "Fast forward" and "Rewind" doesn't seem to work. The FF takes just the player at the end of the file and the RW just bring it at the beginning. There are no points between the two.

    Thank you

    Paul

If you give the FF or REW button one press, this is what will happen. To ' scroll ' a song, press and hold the FF or REW until you get to the point where you want to resume.

Of course, that "point" would be easier to find if the audio played during the 'research' as it did on the first series of e200v1.

  • Sort order for multi-CD audio books

Hello world. I read through some past discussions on the sorting of tracks and albums and have not been able to solve my problem. I have a 12 CD Audiobook; each CD has 99 tracks (ugh). All are taken from my computer and copied on a 8 GB MicroSDHC card. Sorry for the long post; hoping to capture as much detail as possible. My OS is Win XP. It is a rocket 4 GB with the troublesome file stored on 8 GB MicroSDHC card. Rocket is set to MTP and I moved the files via Windows Explorer... trained on my hard drive to the SDHC card (I did this twice; once while he was in the rocket and once while it is in the card reader).

    I used MP3Tag as follows:

    • File name AND title are on: book title disc 01 track 01, sequential numbering up to book title 01 99 of track record. Then we begin with the title of the book disc 02 track 01, etc all the way as a book drive 12 track 99
    • In MP3Tag, I used the Auto numbering Assistant to number the headings, including leading zeros, as 0001/1188 (this change has been made while the card was in the "rocket"; the first passage to the numbering on the hard disk, added only one zero, and I thought that could be the problem, so I ran the wiz autodial again while the card was in the "rocket").
    • Contributing artist, artist and Album name are the SAME (no drive included number) for each 12 discs... use MP3Tag to achieve
    • Removed the YEAR and the DISCNUMBER using MP3Tag.
    • All tracks are marked by the kind of AUDIO book (again using MP3Tag). They appear in the correct order on the hard drive of my computer, and read the SD via Windows Explorer, they appear in the correct order. However, when I browse audio books on my rocket, the sort order is out of whack. Systematically, it starts with title of book disc 11 track 11, is moving forward to drive 12, 99 of track, then disc 01, track 01. The rest seems to be in the right order.
    • Shots from the top of the window of MP3Tag, the file (in order) as the "rocket" 'sees' the first track (1001 to follow in the order, so it is important) screen my choices of dialogue can be seen here:

Other audio books are marked in this way and appear in the correct order... but none of the others has more than 9 discs. Thanks for all the ideas. It drives me crazy! : PEI

Just an update... as suggested by miltst, I made some changes on the base (on my HD) and then copied to the SD card files. The only changes I made were to change the numbering DO NOT track to track the total number of titles; I even added zeros. Once I moved their map SD, the sort order is correct. Hooray! Don't know what did - change the HD or changing the numbering of the beaches, but whatever it is, it works.

    Thank you!

  • Audio book takes 10-15 seconds to start

When I scroll forward or backward, it takes 10-15 seconds for the audio book to start.  He used to take a few seconds.

This happens if your drive is formatted with small groups (which Windows XP will do).

Try to reformat using the command Format of devices and charge books.

Search the Forum on the theme of cluster size.

  • Sansa Clip does not pass the stage of audio books

    Dear all,

We have the problem that our Sansa Clip will not skip chapters of audiobooks. If you hold the buttons, fast towards the front/rewinds, but if you just click on it once, nothing happens. It is only in the audio books and Podcasts, but not in music.

However, we have already owned a Sansa Clip 8 GB, which worked very well. Then we bought a second one (also 8GB) with the problem described. The strange thing: the same audio books work very well on the other Sansa Clip (same firmware version). Also strange: jump works with music files, so it may not be a hardware failure. However, we discovered this last don't bit recently, we already have it back and got another Sansa Clip 8 GB (third). Yet once again, jump does not work. I am suspecting that something with the files is wrong, but I'm intrigued by the fact that they work very well on our first Clip. They all have the same age, our first clip is just a couple of weeks and they all came from the same supplier (Amazon), so I guess it's the same batch.

    The clues someone?

    Thank you very much
    André

I think that you have access to the setting if you press the button in the 6 oclock position while playing an audio book. I think that there is a choice of menu for the settings of the audio book or chapter. I don't have the video right in front of me now, so I'm not sure about this.

  • First Pro CC15 crashing when I fast forward

I've seen many other messages talk how the first Pro CC 2015 to upgrade the causes of their version of first planting, but I didn't know all the messages with my precise cause of the accident. Whenever I have fast-forward on a clip in the Source window (especially when you see the audio waveforms), first fails because of a "serious mistake." Sometimes he tries to load an automatically saved version of the project, sometimes it isn't. It happens fairly regularly, but not 100% of the time.

I have a few plugins to Red Giant installed, but I do not use them. Videos I'm editing are comments from pure product, so it's pretty simple editing - not crazy no effects, no timeline AE linked dynamically, just clips a Canon XF305, some PNGs and a file MXF audio wav. That's all. There are a handful of chronologies that are open at the same time, but they all have the same basic content.

I'm in first Pro CC 2015.0.1 Release, v 9.0.1 (36) Build, so there is no update to what remains to be done. It's a pretty standard machine with a boost of RAM:

    Mac OSX 10.10.4

3.2 GHz Quad - Core Intel Xeon processor

    32 GB OF RAM

    ATI Radeon HD 5770

Can anyone help? Everyone knows the same problem?

    Hi N McLaughlin,

Try this: turn off the Audio preferences > multichannel sum outputs Mono Source monitor & maintain acute during rewinding.

Let us know if it works for you.
