Eight years and audio suddenly stopped: (.) Ran the XP Help without success. From Dell.com, ran to diagnose a problem with PC Doctor without success. A ran difficulty he Windows Audio Playback convenience store but he "encountered an unexpected error and cannot continue.

> Try Windows System Restore (System Restore type in the search box). Choose a restore point from before the audio quit smoking.

> Reinstall the driver audio Sigmatel.

> Plug in headphones or external speakers. If there is audio on the Jack see the Headphone Jack FAQ about a specific problem with taking.

> Run the Dell 32-bit Diagnostics audio tests. You probably don't have it on your drive hard more, but you can run it from the resource cd that came with the laptop.

> If you do not have the cd, then run the PSA test and fail the test of color. This will allow to test if the speakers still work.

Audio worked absolutely the facility for a year or two. Just recently the speakers and headphone stopped working and SPDIF red light of the headset jack is now constantly lit (did not use to be informed in all). Maybe happened as a side effect of windows update, update of apple or software update or demand of the NVIDIA driver installation.

What audio drivers should I have installed Bootcamp software support for MBP mid 2014? Real audio hardware is present on this MBP - Apple card is vague on this point?

When scanning for hardware changes in Device Manager the same driver is always automatically reinstalled. There is no option to delete this. The driver update has no effect. The device is shown as working properly. There is no errors and there are devices of reading for the speakers, headphones and SPDIF, but no audio exited actually.

Is it possible the Bootcamp software support has failed to reinstall the audio drivers correctly? Can I get a feedback or a software Bootcamp Support log to see what's happening?

A Windows somehow got locked in a SPDIF output? This cannot be a purely material error as MacOS still work very well?

Other measures to diagnose this problem?

A few steps I've tried without success:

    • Check all volume and mix parameters
    • Roll back these recent software installations
    • Watching installed the drivers in Device Manager - all audio devices are shown as working properly analyze, because material changes do not find any additional sound hardware to configure. Update driver drivers online research is not to find an updated driver.
    • Using an another USB audio device - this device works great
    • Reboot under Macos - built in speakers very well work
    • Restart in SafeMode the Windows - audio device does not appear to be installed (maybe the driver no is not supported in safe mode).
    • Reset the NVRAM (restart with option commmand PR)
    • Reset the controller of the SCM
    • Run the restore of the system - restore points fail to restore with the exception of a few of the latter that does not solve the problem
    • Uninstalling all audio drivers and re-run bootcamp support software setup.exe (the older version of download 5.1.5640 which seems to be the only one who supports my hardware/windows 7 x 64 combo)
    • Back the NVIDIA driver to the version provided with the support of bootcamp software

    • Assistant Configuration boot camp running on Mac OS to get the latest drivers - fails because does not support my combination of material and win7 x 64 as documented on Apple support pages

Hello. I recently had to reinstall windows vista on my computer. Everything works well except that I continue to have problems with the audio. When I play youtube videos or to make Skype calls, that the sound disappears and I get the message "Windows Audio has stopped working" immediately followed by the message "host process for windows services stopped working." I remember having this problem in the past, every time that I had to restore the operating system, but I don't remember what I did to remedy. I went to the history of my problem and it's certainly a problem with Windows Audio. What can I do?

  • My audio device has stop working and Windows installs... any suggestions?

I am currently in Mode safe! Windows starts to load but stops and displays a blue screen with a message full screen but didn't stay there long enough that I read.  In Safe Mode, I found that my audio does not work and Windows could not fix all that is the problem. I need help... where can I go from here?

A BSOD is in 99% of cases related driver.

I would start by download and install PC/laptop audio and video W7 drivers specific to the support page of the manufacturer.
If that does not cure the problem, do the same for the other drivers W7 - chipset, LAN, etc.
    See you soon,.

  • Windows 7 causing Audio & Microphone to stop working

I have a Sony Vaio VGN-Z21WN, which came with Windows Vista.  I later upgraded to Windows 7 Ultimate.

In recent weeks, the audio doesn't work with the microphone.  I tried to install the drivers more late two Sony & Realtek Web sites, but nothing worked.
Concerned that it was a hardware problem, I did a factory reset and I went back to Vista... audio & new microphone worked perfectly.
I improved this "clean" Windows 7 ultimate installation, and the problem reappeared.  Yet once, I tried different drivers Realtek & Sony, but nothing of reactive sound.  I even installed all the latest drivers for the chipset, wifi, the latest version of the bios, etc...
Windows says that the hardware is installed and working properly.  I tried to use headphones, external microphone, etc., but with no luck.
I believe that a recent update of Windows 7 has caused this problem - is there a fix available?

    I did, thank you.

I finally discovered - by chance - cause.
Deletion of my Logitech USB 'nano-receiver' for my mouse wireless solved the problem.  Very surprised this kind of thing can cause such a conflict these days!
Very grateful for the help, Anil, I hope that if someone has a problem like mine they find this discussion.

I am running Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit on a laptop HP Envy 3033. The audio has suddenly stopped working. This happened right after an update of Windows, although that could be a coincidence. I tried to use the troubleshooter in Windows for sound and used the Recovery Manager to reinstall the audio driver, but nothing has worked. No sound through speakers or headphones. Everything looks like it should work, but it is not. Computer is still under warranty.

No audible response in the installer, so I'll try the repair of the equipment. Thanks for your quick response!

    Hello

Control Panel - Device Manager - Sound - double click click - driver - drivers Updates tab (this cannot
anything like MS is far behind the certification of drivers) - then do a right click - UNINSTALL - REBOOT it will refresh the
    driver stack.

Then go to the system manufacturer's website and download the latest driver Audio/high fidelity for your Vista 64 bit system.
    (Note the version)

Download - SAVE - go to where you put it - right click – RUN AS ADMIN - REBOOT

Check in the Device Manager - Sound - double-click on the driver tab - to be sure of the version that you have performed is installed
too often, these will be rollback until this finally installed the current - then check if it is the right one and then run driver
-reboot - check - repeat as needed.

    I hope this helps.
