Auto DHCP and static IP together

I was wondering if I could put one of my computers to a static IP address and leave the rest to Auto DHCP? Only

I want that because I run a webcam and if the IP address changes on the computer that is running, I

Enter and change the permissions in the port range to make it work.

I use the WRT54GS and NM 5.5.9195 pure on a XP Home SP3 network all.

Without a doubt! It is the usual practice, if you have devices that need a port forwarding you set the static IP address on it. Just don't choose an address from the DHCP range, which is from 100 to 149.

I got a Blu - Ray player and it turns out that he won't talk to my WRTP54G DHCP and I've only got to operate when plugged directly into my cable modem. Is it possible to configure the router to have a DHCP network, but allow also my Blu - Ray to have a static IP address, so it can also connect to the internet?

Yes, just make sure that you have configured the blu Ray player with a static IP address outside the range of the DHCP, set up in the router list.

  • DHCP and static IP at the same time?

Simple scenario. My internet connection using DHCP and my home network uses a 10.x.x.x (static) addresses. How can I add an address static 10.0.0.x, in addition to the IP address provided by DHCP, if I can use internet and LAN at the same time? Under linux, it's pretty simple: ip addr add 10.0.0.1/24 dev eth0

You cannot use two IP addresses on a single ethernet interface, if you are using DHCP, you cannot add a static IP, it is technically impossible, in this case you must use two NICs, i.e. two different interfaces. If you connect to the Internet via the DHCP protocol and you have another PC which allows you to build a local network then you you may not change the dynamic address, but can replace the LAN address is dynamic/static. For example, if the PC that has the Internet connection, add another NETWORK card, then connect the second PC with this new NIC card. Now turn on sharing on the first PC Internet connection interface and so the two PC will be able to run the home networking and Internet connectivity. You don't even need to add a static IP address.

  • Separate Wired DHCP and static profiles

    Windows 7 Pro 64-bit

We have two offices within our campus. Creating a server (DHCP, static) using DHCP. Although building B (DHCP, static) also uses the DHCP protocol, it is necessary for me to assign a static IP address to my PC for various reasons.

I need to connect my PC to each building. Using another address is not viable because building B (DHCP, static) has DHCP so the PC is assigned to the DHCP rather than another static address.

Can I create and select separate network for DHCP and LANs static profiles?

    Thanks in advance.

  • ESXi 4.1 connection NIC 0 to NIC 2 to a Port DHCP and static IP address

I have a Dell Blade M610 I recently put in place with ESXi 4.1 Software. I have the Management Console, NIC 0, a static IP address, but when I connect to a DHCP Port to NIC 1 I lose the ability to connect to the console of the VSphere Client. I get "connection failed". Remove the DHCP connection works and I can log in and manage the server.

    Question-

What settings am I missing, that will allow me to connect it to a static IP Port and a DHCP Port at the same time?

The static IP addressed Port is behind a firewall on a subnet to isloated. The DHCP Port is on the Production network. A point to note - while IP address static on an isolated network, the TCP/IP Port, which allows you to talk to the domain controller to add from the PC to the field, is open. Most of the other Ports TCP/IP is disabled.

I would like to know if it is possible to realize that I need to create virtual machines to be used on the remote subnet, as well as on the Production side of the network.

Is there a reason for the group "DHCP VMkernel" VMkernel ports on vSwitch1? If this is not the case, remove this port group. It is not necessary to connect to the network of the VM.

  • Time Capsule do not pick up address DHCP and cable modem...

You just bought a Time Capsule and a couple of Airport Express. If none of these devices are connected together via Ethernet, they seem to have set themselves up, and all is well.

That being said, I tried to create a mobile network instead of pure wi - fi and am studying various behaviors that are not as expected when I rear hub to the Internet Time Capsule, but need to isolate and go 1 bit at a time... (it works not as well as suggest Apple instructions on homelessness of installation)...

    If:

    1. configuration of the modem cable shows that DHCP is 'ON' and supplied address range 192.168.0.x by 192.168.0.y,.

2 Cable modem wireless is disabled,

3 Time Capsule Wan is connected to the cable modem, Ethernet

4 Time Capsule is configured to request its address IP, DHCP

    5. Airport Express is in Bridge mode and have addresses such as 10.x.y.z (appears to be from a Time capsule).

    6. safe as Time Capsule is set to be as DHCP and NAT

    7. There is NO other device in this configuration connected by Ethernet except the cable Modem and the Time Capsule.

So, why is the IP address of the time Capsule 76.181.45.xyz? (The address is NOT in the range of the DHCP as described in the #1; it is not supposed to be?) ....

    Whence this address?

A friend says this address puts the "other side" Time Capsule of the cable Modem, directly on the Net?... (Shouldn't worry?) ....

If none of these devices are connected together via Ethernet, they seem to have set themselves up, and all is well.

It's because you didn't have the devices connected via Ethernet before you set up the. Given that the installation utility saw a wireless connection, it is assumed that this was the way that you want to connect devices on your network at all times... so he put it this way.

If you had an established connection Ethernet before you ran the installer, then the utility would have detected this connection and set up the airport to "expand using Ethernet", does not extend to assistance of wireless.

(it works not as well as suggest Apple instructions on homelessness of installation)...

If all goes well, you don't talk about this document... Wi - Fi base stations: extend the reach of your network wireless by adding additional base stations Wi - Fi - Apple Suppo... .. Since the 'how' information in this article is at least 4 years late, bear little resemblance to the latest version of AirPort Utility and some of the information are simply not true.  This document if trash is what you... He'll probably do more harm than good with regard to the details of setting.  The article is OK for basic general information, however.

    6. safe as Time Capsule is set to be as DHCP and NAT

It should not be if your modem is a modem/router "" or type 'bridge' of the device which is also DHCP and NAT services. The fact that you have disabled the wireless on the device confirms that it is both a modem AND a router. That being the case, then you have two devices that both struggling among themselves to try to control the same network... AND do you also have a network error called Double NAT... something you don't want.

Probably the best at everything again and provide us with the number of brand and model of your "modem", that we can confirm what it is that you have, then the correctly configured time Capsule to work with this device. Once the time Capsule is set up correctly, it will be easy to put in place the other airports.

  • BEFSR81 and static IP to be assigned to the members of the network

It's perhaps a little noob question.

I have to (192.168.1.2 DHCP server OFF, wireless) WRT310N cascading through my BEFSR81 (192.168.1.1, DHCP ON), but for the life of me I can't understand where they were hiding a DHCP reservation. If there is no page for it, I was unable to find anything that looks like a workaround solution. I want to put in place so that the members of my network get the same IP addresses addresses DHCP and time "guests".

    Can someone help me?

    Thank you

    Marshall

An obvious option is that you can replace the BEFSR81 with almost all new Linksys routers.  You can use the RVS4000 (a DHCP reservation has been added with an update of the firmware), or you could use a wireless router and turn off the wireless.  If you're thinking the RVS4000, know that it can handle only about 15 Mbps of throughput of your Internet connection, so if you have a faster connection, you'll be out of luck with this router.

If you wish to continue using your BEFSR81, note that Linksys has certain rules very specific on how to manually setup fixed LAN IP addresses in your network devices.  You must follow these rules carefully.

Rules for use of the LAN IP fixed address on the Linksys routers:

With Linksys, routers, a fixed (static) IP LAN addresses must be assigned in the device that uses the address. If you enter the fixed address to the computer or the printer, not in the router.

When you use a Linksys router, any fixed LAN IP address must be outside the DHCP server rank (typically 192.168.1.100 thru 192.168.1.149), and may not end with 0, 1 and 255.

That's why any fixed LAN IP address would normally be of the order of
    192.168.1.2 thru 192.168.1.99 or
    192.168.1.150 thru 192.168.1.254
assuming that you always use the default DHCP server line.

In addition, in the computer, when you configure a static LAN IP address, you need to set the "Subnet mask" 255.255.255.0 and the 'default gateway' on 192.168.1.1 and "DNS server" on 192.168.1.1

It is also important that the same value static LAN IP address no two devices on your network.

  • Crazy Safari, I can't press 'shift' and press 'h' together

    Hello everyone,

I really try the search response, but it seems that no one have the same problem as me. As noted on my subject on the safari version 9.1.1, version OS X El Capitan 10.11.5, every time I want to press 'shift' and 'h' key together it seems that my tab all disappear and I go to the apple.com website. I have also tried using chrome to do the same thing but doesn't seem to have any problem, so I think the problem is the safari itself. The problem persists after that I updated my OS X.  Oh and I tried to use app to remove the malware or adware, but it does not detect anything.

It was very long and I don't notice really this problem a lot because I don't really use uppercase ' h' on my tongue, but it still bothers me.

Someone knows about this problem and maybe help me. I have a video that would prove it.

I'm so frustrated and I wanted to reinstall my OS X, but unfortunately my internet is so slow and have to wait like 14 hours...

Try to reset the settings of Safari:

    1. open Safari

    2. click on the Safari menu at the top (to the right of the Apple logo)

    3. Select the Preferences/Privacy tab

    4. click on remove all data from the Web site

    5. close Safari.

    Remove cache Safari files:

    1. click on finder

    Hello

    Try the following.

First, download the Synaptics driver on the link below and save it in your downloads folder.

    http://ftp.HP.com/pub/SoftPaq/sp72001-72500/sp72142.exe

When done, turn off your wireless card (should be f12 ).

Open Control Panel, open programs and features, right click on the Synaptics driver and select uninstall.

    When finished, restart the laptop.

When windows rebooted, open your download folder and re-run the installer of Synaptics - when it is finished, restart the laptop.

If this has fixed the problem of scrolling, turn your wireless card and use the utility on the following link to prevent Windows 10 to update automatically the Synaptics driver.

I have Vista Home and auto backup and I put in a new DVD-R, even if space is available on the existing DVD.

This response does not answer your question immediately. Just my suggestion for an alternative...

You lose a lot of time and money ventually, using DVD.

Less than $100 you will get a very good external hard drive, and you can make a backup of files into it.

In the long term, it is less expensive than the purchase of DVDs and a pain to store.
