Automatic copy of deleted photos

Whenever I try to delete pictures in my photo folder, computor automatically makes copies of these photos and I can't get rid of them. Help! My space is running out

Hello

  1. The question is limited to the pictures folder?

Method 1:

Start the system to boot and then try to delete the files.

How to configure Windows XP to start in a "clean boot" State

Note:
How to configure Windows to use a Normal startup state
After you have used the boot is a way to solve your problem, you can follow these steps to configure Windows XP to start normally.
(a) click Start and then click Run.
(b) type msconfig and click OK.
The System Configuration Utility dialog box appears.
(c) click on the general tab, click Normal Startup - load all services and device drivers and then click OK.
(d) when you are prompted, click on restart to restart the computer.

Method 2:

The issue could be related to Virus/Malware so I would say that you perform a full system scan and check if that helps resolve the issue.

Downlaod Microsoft security scanner from the link provided below.

  • If I copy and paste an image file (jpeg, for example) in the folder of photos on my Mac, is it automatically imported in the Photos app?

If I copy & paste an image file (jpeg, for example) that I downloaded from the internet to the folder of photos on my Mac, is it automatically imported in the Photos app? Note that the picture on my Mac folder is the folder that contains the file "Library.photoslibrary Photos".

N ° you must actively import photos with the file-> import... command.

Given that you can delete the file as soon as it is imported - if you have the copy in the library checked preferences - I use a folder called 'imports' on my desk to separate files that I'm importing. Once they are imported files into the import folder can trash.

  • Deleting photos and it goes to the trash

Recently bought a MacBook Pro with the retina display it with iOS ELCapitan 10.11.4 after migration does'nt migrate my photos and music. I have solve it with copy of the photos with the external hard drive and stick it in iPhotos Library.iphotos.library. It works, but when I remove the pictures that he deleted but does ' t goes to the trash. Please help solve this problem. Thank you.

What kind of library are automatically using, iPhoto or Photos.  The package of photo library in your pictures folder will look like this:

If it's the library that you handle the here's what you need to do to remove a photo from the library and the hard drive (it won't to the trash in the Dock like in iPhoto):

Remove Photos from a library of Photos 1.5

    1. regardless where you are in the library, i.e. Moments, collections, albums, smart albums or projects, select the photos you want to remove, use the command + delete keyboard shortcut to move the photos to the recently deleted smart album.

2 - Click on the albums smart recently deleted in the sidebar.

NOTE 1: If you use pictures 1.2 or earlier, use the option menu file ➙ show recently deleted .

    3. in the recently deleted album, you can opt to leave the photo automatically delete after the 30-day waiting period is in place, remove them immediately or restore them in the library.

NOTE 2: deleting a photo from an album, slideshow, book, etc., the delete key only deletes the photo of this element.  There is no combination of keys that will remove a photo from a project and move directly to the recently deleted smart album.

NOTE 3: removal of a photo of a moment or Collection (window pictures) or Photos of all window deletes ALL occurrences of this photo in the library.

  • Supprimer delete photos on iPhone, keep on mac using ICloud?

Hello! How do I remove photos from my iPhone and always keep them on my mac? I use iCloud and have about 50 GB of Photos on my phone. My plan is bigger than that, but again, I don't want to have that many photos on my iPhone (but keep them on my mac). Is this possible? I tried to import on my Mac, but it doesn't show me all the pictures are on my phone. It shows me about 3000 instead of 11000... TIA

    Julievite g ' Day,.

Thank you for using communities of Apple Support.

I see that you want to remove photos from your iPhone, but still keep the photos on your Mac. Use the article import pictures and videos from your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch to import all the photos from your iPhone to your Mac, more specifically, this section:

    Import into your Mac.

You can use Photos for OS X to import photos from your iOS device to your Mac without using iCloud photo library. This procedure also works for the import of images from digital cameras and SD cards.

    1. Connect your iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, or digital camera to your Mac with a USB cable. If you use an SD card, insert it into the SD slot on your Mac, or connect using a card reader.
    2. You need to unlock your iOS device using your access code. You can also see a prompt on the device iOS asking you to Trust This Computer. Tap the confidence to continue.
    3. On your Mac, the Photos app automatically opens. If not, open the Photos app.
    4. The Photos app shows a screen of import with all photos and videos that can be found on the connected device. If the import screen does not automatically appear, click the Import tab at the top of the Photos app, or click on the name of the device in the sidebar of Photos.
    5. To import a selection of photos, click the ones you want, and then click Import selection. To import all new pictures, click Import all Photos again.
    6. Once the import is complete, a message asks if you want to delete or keep the photos on your device. Click on remove items to remove photos or click on keep items to keep them on the device.
If you select keep items, you will need to remove them directly from your device when you want to remove.
    7. You can now disconnect your device from your Mac. If you imported photos from an SD card or USB, safely eject the device first device.

Imported photos appear in the album last import of the Photos app.

Photos and videos that sync you from your computer on your device iOS through iTunes can be imported to your computer.

Know what to do If you can not import pictures from your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch to your computer.

Once you have made sure all the photos have been imported to your Mac, you can then safely remove them from your iPhone. The iPhone user guide has the steps to remove photos from your iPhone, in particular, this section:

Delete a picture or video from pictures. Click on the Photos tab, tap the photo or video, press on , then press to remove the Photo or video delete. Deleted photos and videos are stored in the album recently deleted on iPhone, with a badge showing the remaining days until the item is permanently deleted from the iPhone. To permanently delete the photo or video before the days expire, tap the item, tap on delete, then remove the Photo or video delete. If you use iCloud photo library, deleted photos and videos are permanently removed from all your devices using iCloud photo library with the same Apple ID.

  • Deleting photos in the screenshots, Pano & Selfies

It seems that if I delete a photo in the captures of screen, Pano & Selfies Albums, they have removed from my library.  But if I delete other Albums or smart albums, I created, they album gets deleted but my photos because albums are still in my library.  Why they don't even work?

The albums smart 'Panoramic', 'Selfies', etc.  are built in.  They will appear automatically, if any photo from your library meets the constraint for this album.  You cannot delete the albums, onlyy delete photos that are active albums.

It seems that if I delete a photo in the captures of screen, Pano & Selfies Albums, they have removed from my library.

If you remove a photo from a smart album with ⌘⌫, also if you remove a smart album, you have set yourself, the photo is moved to the recently deleted album.  This is exactly the same for integrated and intelligent albums albums create yourself.

If you delete a smart album, you have yourself set up, the photos will remain in the library, but as said above, you cannot delete the built-in albums, you can delete only the photos in the album.

  • Deleting photos, but it still says there are 900 MB photos.

    Hello

I just removed all of my photos in my iPhone 6, but storage has always said that I have photos for like 929 MB.

The funny thing is that when I check iTunes, it says I have 355 photos taking 944MB. But I just removed everything from the phone by going to pc > iPhone > DCIM.

Anyone know what these "ghost" pictures are and has a solution for the problem?

I have not synced all photos from my computer to my iPhone and my iCloud and photostream are turned OFF.

Check first of all, the album recently removed in Photos, which is a novelty after iOS 8.1. If it is empty you may have come across a strange bug where deleted photos are not actually deleted. To check what followed these rather strange instructions:

    • Go to settings/general/Date & time
    • Disable automatically the value
    • Tap the current date/time and roll back about 2 years
    • Click general in the left upper corner
    • Launch the Photos app and go to the recently deleted album (even though it says there are 0 photos)
    • It is full of pictures? If so, remove them
    • Return to settings/general/Date & time and restart the value automatically

  • How do I delete photo albums and send them to an external hard drive?

Newbie here and thankful for any help.

I have been scanning a lot of old photos.  I bought a WD My Passport for Mac.  I would like to remove some old albums of photos scanned photos and put them on My Passport.  How to achieve this?  Also, do I buy an external hard drive right or should I format it?  Clerks in Best Buy make it sound so simple... "Just put your photos on an external hard drive.

I guess I should mention that I have defined iCloud for storing photos and I have a time capsule airport put in place.

Thanks to anyone who can help me!

Also, do I buy an external hard drive right or should I format it?

What is the file system of the reader?

Select the icon for the drive in Finder, and then press the combination of keys ⌘I (abbreviation of "file > read information").

The info panel displays the file system in the genres section:

If the file system is not Mac OS extended (journaled) reformat the drive with disk utility before you move all data to it.  Formatting will erase it.

The procedure is explained here for Aperture, but it goes the same for Photos: external drives Format Mac OS extended before using with Aperture - Apple Support

I have been scanning a lot of old photos.  I bought a WD My Passport for Mac.  I would like to remove some old albums of photos scanned photos and put them on My Passport.  How to achieve this?

Save your photos on external hard drive, you have two options - just save the INDIVIDUAL photos or save the photo library.

It would be better to copy your photo library on disk. This way you will save the versions published with all the metadata that you added and the original images in the quality is.

If you export photos you need to make your choice, if you want to export the edited versions or the original versions, or both.

    • To save the library, do it just from the pictures on the external drive folder.
    • To save the individual photos, open one of your albums, then select all photos with ⌘A, then use the command "file > export > export... photos ' and select one a high-quality format t the original size. Do this for all the photos. Check if the export went well, before you delete photos from the library.  To remove photos from an album using the ⌘⌫ key combination command + DELETE.

Empty the recently deleted album only after that you convinced yourself that the exported photos are OK and you have a backup.

  • OMG: Deleting photos in iCloud library does not work, all my deleted photos were stored by Apple!

Today, I used the iCloud for Windows App (PC) to use the new feature of upload/download to iCloud photo library.

I activated the automatic download feature, and I'm still shocked!

All my deleted photos (even older then 30 days) are still there. All the pictures I deleted on my iPhone before, in aid of the iCloud photo library, is always there. They are now on my PC in the download folder.

This means that all of my photos are stored by Apple, even if I delete them!
