Automatic stats collection in the database
Hi all
As we know from oracle database collection automatically from 10 g from the statistics. I'm looking for documentation oracle who described on condition/settings which oracle decides what statistical table to gather and when.
http://docs.Oracle.com/CD/E11882_01/server.112/e41573/stats.htm#PFGRF94713
Oracle would have to check the percentage vitiated the table. It is set to 10% by default. This is so the criteria used to select the table as a candidate for automatic stats collection.

Is sort of report columns state stored in the database?
Hello
My http://apex.oracle.com/pls/otn/f?p=62577:1 request URL
Suppose that I open it in firefox, so that the report by "The Pavilion student" and open a new session in IE the report is sorted by student flag is shown. I have no "order by" in the report query, but the report attributes only the sort sequence 'Person Id' has a value of 1.
I guess that the report should appear even when it is the first. A user of sorting of the report should not effect when it is run by another user. I have the clear browser cache before the race page.
KishoreHi Kishore,
Yes, the sort order is stored as the user preferences - see: need to do the SORTING of columns only when I click on the column header
Because your test application does not require the user to login, all users as being actually given to the same user, PUBLIC_USER, so all will see the same preferences. Your current application require authentication?

Temporarily disable sending on the eve of the database of newspapers
All,
I have 3 node RAC primary database and RAC 3 node backup database.
Oracle version is 10.2.0.4.0 on Sun Solaris.
We use pending through LGWR log shipping, database and auto is in maximum performance mode.
We plan to run critical processes of a lot which is strongly oriented as CPU consumption of resources and memory consumption. It runs for 10 hours with set of stored procedures.
To provide resources to this process of batch processing, front-end applications will be stop (completely time to users).
Question 1_
It is recommended to stop log shipping on the eve of the database during batch processing. Once the batch is finished, activate standby mode.
I'm new to this environment before. I went through the documentation and I've identified the steps below to perform the above task.
"" 1) before the batch, run the following command in primary education - alter system set log_archive_dest_state_2 = reporter scope = the two sid = ' * '; This will temporarily stop log shipping on the eve of the database.
(2) run the lots for 10 hours. Depending on the size of FRA available are the rates of production of the journal, we have enough space to resist the newspapers for 3 days.
"" (3) when the batch is finished, I will exercise the command at primary level - below alter system set log_archive_dest_state_2 = enable scope = both sid = ' * ';
After step 3, I guess that all arrears of logs in the meantime to primaries will be transferred automatically at startup of the database and applied.
My above assumption is correct and did, I missed milestones.
Question 2_
Before the batch, we'll take hot full backup with RMAN.
If something goes wrong with a batch, we plan to restore and reset the logs. Here, no recovery is necessary. This approach is very good. any other better solution.
My questions can be very basic, since I don't have custody of data set up in sleep mode, I'm not able to test it. I need your help when reviewing above steps and suggestions / corrections.Hey Buddy,
Question 1
It is recommended to stop log shipping on the eve of the database during batch processing. Once the batch > process is finished, activate it in standby mode.
I'm new to this environment before. I went through the documentation and I've identified the steps below to perform the above task.

(2) run the lots for 10 hours. Depending on the size of FRA available are the rates of production of the journal, we have enough space > to withstand the newspapers for 3 days.
"" (3) when the batch is finished, I will exercise the command at primary level - below alter system set log_archive_dest_state_2 = enable scope = both sid = ' * ';After step 3, I guess that all arrears of logs in the meantime to primaries will be transferred automatically at startup of the database and applied.
My above assumption is correct and did, I missed milestones.
I guess it's safer if you also include a step 1.1, which continues the redo apply processes. "alter database recover managed standby database cancel;
If all archive logs are on the primary server, as soon as you raise the environment (activate the log_archive_dest and start posting), your stand will ask for the records it needs.
After a long period without applying redo, you also have the option to use a backup incremental rman to 'transfer' the day before [RMAN incremental backup to roll forward using a Physical Standby Database | http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B19306_01/server.102/b14239/scenarios.htm#CIHIAADC]
Question 2
Before the batch, we'll take hot full backup with RMAN.
If something goes wrong with a batch, we plan to restore and reset the logs. Here, no recovery is necessary. > This approach very well. any other better solution.My questions can be very basic, since I don't have custody of data set up in sleep mode, I'm not able to test it. If I were you, in the event of an error, I'd just use database flashback instead of open primary with resetlogs. Have a look here [Using Flashback Database after the issuance of a statement Open of Resetlogs | http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B19306_01/server.102/b14239/scenarios.htm#i1049616] to get an idea about this process and also read notes metalink 728374.1 and 824213.1.
It will be useful,

I have a new adventure like Oracle Database Administrator (of course as a beginner): I assume that this database has crashed during the backup. Now, I can't launch database, I can't retrieve the database, I can't do anything. EM said "the State of the database is currently unavailable. It is possible Traore, the database is in State of Mount or nomount. Click 'Start' to get the current state and open the database. If the database cannot be opened, click "Perform the valuation" to run a proper recovery operation. "When I try to"Start", according to the information of identification and"work in progress", he returned to the first window. I tried to perform recovery, but the result is same.
Can someone describe me procedure how to recover the database step by step? I need to recover the data from the tables and if it is possible, the tables.
I have the database Oracle 10.1.0 on Windows 2003 server.
Thanks in advance!Miroslav197 wrote:
Yes, I did: alter system set db_recovery_file_dest_size = 10G-force and commissioning.Now, he says: ORACLE instance started. Complete system...; Mounted database. ; Open database.
Looks all right. Do I need something more to do before opening EM?
Yes.
Actually answer your question. Except that pst responded and post correct/good -
My Weblogic 12 c StartWeblogic.cmd failed after that I configured the migration of the cluster to the database with the name of the table as none. I can't even to the Server Admin page.
Before that, I remove the. log.lck, process.id, process.lck files in the nodemanager directory
Help, please! Thank you!

It may sound crazy that I am answering my own post. As he complains about MigrationBasis. I tried to go to the config.xml file and changed
Cluster-0 unicast database TO
Cluster-0 unicast consensus And at least I was able to restart Server Admin and go to the Server Admin page. The Cluster-> Configuration-> Migration is always on view from database as the basis for Migration.

What update statement is sent to the database?
In several pages, I use the Apex line (DML) 4.2 automatic treatment processes. If I do an update of a record, which are columns in the update statement? All columns, only the displayed, only the columns changed, also the PK column?
As far as I can see now all the columns that are displayed are updated, also the PK, which is display only.
I ask this, because when the PK is updated (not changed is screen only) all tables in my 75 cases, where this PK is used as FK, will get a lock.
I did some tests and find out that indeed the Apex is updating all the columns used in the elements by Type of Source is the database column. Even if this item is display only, read-only, etc.!
My solution now, to prevent the locks, is the following:
Automated line Fetch:
Primary key column value containing point: Pxx_ID
ID of the primary key column: (this is the primary key)
Pxx_ID (display only, hidden or read-only)
Source: only when the current value in session state is set to zero
Source type: static assignment<-->-->
Source of value or expression:
Treatment of automatic line (DML)
Primary key column value containing point: Pxx_ID
Primary key column: ID

Hello. I'm new on Entity Framework and the database that I connect Oracle 10 g. I develop using Visual Studio 2015, ODAC 12 c version 4 with the installed Visual Studio Tools and EF 6.1.3. I am generation an EDMX model from an existing database. In the Visual Studio wizard, I select the existing tables that have relationships of foreign key between them. The resulting EDMX contains the tables and their columns, but no association. I tried to do this using the code first of all existing database Wizard, and the results are similar: classes for the tables and column properties, but still no association or the properties of a class to contain instances of another. Should I be not expecting associations to be created automatically? Is there something I missed?
I'm back in it and found out what the problem was. Before you create the entity data model, I had to have the connection already defined in Server Explorer * using the ODP.NET* provider.

Hi all
my instance of database shows down in OEM 12 c but in fact the database is running and status of the listener is unknown. What steps should I take to make the database appear?
FYI,.
The error is:
The current state of the target is down. (I checked events tab in the incident handler here, it is showing error as "inaccessible agent (reason = unable to connect to the agent to https://sunshine.mad:3872/emd/main / [connection refused]).") host is accessible.
A week before I made switch to digital, the basics of data, is that this is the reason why it shows this error? do we need to change any configuration after switching to the databases on OEM 12 c. at this point time of the database instance shows down and the listener to the top but suddenly the database and listener went wrong.
Please help me, give your suggestions in this regard.
Verify that the agent is in place and suggested downloading like Antonio. For the target of the database, the home page, go to the (Oracle database > Configuration target >) Configuration of the analysis page, check the monitoring parameters are correct and do a test connection. You can check the parameters of surveillance for the target of the listener as well.
Kind regards

Hi all... I am a newbie with oracle database.,.
I have the problem of monitoring:
I installed Oracle Database 11 g R2 XE on my CentOS 6.5 guest operating system.
I changed the host name in my CentOS so (where installed oracle 11g R2 XE) after the installation was completed successfully.
Installation-) before and during the hostname is localhost.
(-) After the installation, I changed the host name in VMCentOS
From the moment where I changed the host name, nothing starts automatically. In particular, the listener and the database instance does not start automatically.
When I start the listener manually and I try to connect to the instance of database with SQLPLUS I get this error:
ORA-12514: TNS:listener is not currently of service requested in connect descriptor
I think that the problem is due host name changed because I have to test and debug the object, re-installed a machine virtual operating system CentOS, re-installed oracle database 11 g and I do not have this problem. The database instance and the listener starts automatically!
Can someone tell me if, maybe, the problem is with the host has changed? ... and why?
P.S.: After changing the hostname I also modified the listener.ora and the tnsnames.ora by changing the HOST with the correct host name.
Hello
It seems that you don't install Oracle Database Express Edition (XE). If you post this question in the wrong forum.
When you install EA or there is no script that starts the database at startup.
If you wish, you can create by yourself. For example search for instructions to Google how to create script.
Kind regards

Cannot display the results to the database during "Update": SQL statement
Hello
I get this error trying to update a VO via the UI or BCBrowser.
Cannot display the results to the database during "Update": SQL statement
This is a default single front & right THAT VO creates on the object of the entity (Database Table)
On the same table and with the same credentials of DB, I could update the record.
Any guess on what went wrong?
Thanks in advance for any help.

new columns added to the database table, after the creation of the entity object. Those changes were not picked up in the entity object.
I found this difference after object entity with the DB Table comparison.
And when I added these new columns to EO & VO, I don't get this error more.

Bulk collect into the statement
Hi all
I'm trying to copy data using the database link.
I'm using the Oracle 11 g on Windows.
I check the data in the source table and it exists. When I run under block it is running successfully but do return no data in the target database.
SET SERVEROUTPUT ON
DECLARE
TYPE of t_bulk_collect_test_1 IS the TABLE OF NT_PROP % ROWTYPE;
l_tab1 t_bulk_collect_test_1;
CURSOR c_data1 IS
SELECT *.
OF NT_PROP@dp_copy;
BEGIN
OPEN c_data1.
LOOP
EXTRACTION c_data1
LOOSE COLLECTION l_tab1 LIMIT 10000;
commit;
WHEN OUTPUT l_tab1.count = 0;
END LOOP;
CLOSE C_data1;
END;
/
Could you get it someone please let me know what is the error in this code.
Thanks in advance
Bulk operation will not improve performance. Your code is a good example to show how to write code that is a performance nightmare. I'm sorry to say this, but it's the truth.
Static SQL is the fastest way to do it. As you will transfer the data via a DB connection it will be certain overhead. But the block is not the solution for it. Make a simple INSERT INTO... SELECT... Beh It's the best way to do what you want.

How to set up the database restarts automatically when the server starts?
Hello
What is involved if I configure Oracle database starts automatically when the server is started/restarted?
I guess that change the following entry in/etc/oratab
TODEVDB:/u01/app/oracle/product/10.2.0/db_1:N
is not sufficient - there is more than that. But what is it?DEVDB:/u01/app/oracle/product/10.2.0/db_1:Y
We can also configure the listener to automatically re / start?
I guess that everything what is the solution, it will also apply to Oracle 11 GR 2 databases/ASM - right?
The platform is Redhat Linux 64 bit (version 4.7 & v5.9).
Thanks in advance!
Best regardsHello
Below is one example of autostart services database and the listener.
1 > make/etc/oratab file entry Y as:
ORCL:/U01/app/Oracle/product/10.2.0/Db_1:Y2 > create a file called "/ etc/rc.d/init.d/oracle" as root, containing the following.

;;
ESAC
-------------------------------------------------3 > use the chmod command to set privileges to 755.
chmod 755 /etc/rc.d/init.d/oracle4 > associate the appropriate oracle service run levels and set it to auto-start by using the following command.
chkconfig--level 345 oracle onNote:-back, I've done this for a long time... Please check the dbstart use pfile or spfile to start the database instance.

SQL statement causes the database to hang
Guys,
a DBA told me that there is something wrong with this SQL statement and causes a blockage of database...
Please check.
SELECT field1 FROM table1 WHERE Field1 LIKE ' %% ' AND field2 = '123456' ORDER BY Field2 ASC
Tell me, what is the problem with statement above. The LIKE operator is?
Thanks for the help!Are not specifically related to your question, but having a clause such as ' where Field2 ='123456 "and then you place your order on Field2 is not really going to do much for you, all values will be identical!
