If the problem occurs even in safe mode, then you will need to run the system restore while it was working fine.

  • Downloads/history/Bookmarks window is stuck in fullscreen

It started to happen after I started using full screen and split on the new OS X El Capitan.

I don't know what I did, but the window bookmarks/downloads/history (the one that appears when you click on "View history", etc.) is now permanently stuck in fullscreen. It takes up the entire screen and it disables the menu bar and Dock as would a normal fullscreen - but it is clear that this is a bug, I can somehow move (see screenshot). No title bar is displayed when I move my cursor to the top of the screen, and the usual shortcut of control-command-F toggle full screen doesn't seem to work.

    How can I fix?

  • FS autohide toolbars does not, to hide the toolbars on the value and set to true, help browser.fullscreen.autohide?

Basically, I guess when you go full screen mode, tabs and the search bar should hide automatically until I move my mouse to the top of the screen to the right? Well, this does not happen despite try the suggestions on other threads for example right click on an empty space next to the tabs and hide toolbars check (already verified on) and goes up to about: config and check browser.fullscreen.autohide is set to true.

However, I have two other options which I think might be a clue as to the problem. There is an extensions.browser.fullscreen.autohide that is set to TRUE and extensions.fullscreen.noautohide set to FALSE.

Is there an extension or add-on I could interfere? I have installed... session maybe Manager what could be?

On the Mac screen mode works differently.

    You can try this extension.

  • browser.fullscreen.animateUp

I don't like using the animation of firefox to go full screen. I disabled "browser.fullscreen.animateUp" by changing the value zero. Now the problem is I don't see the tab bar when I move the mouse over the screen. This option is not just disable the animation, but also my access to the tab in full screen bar.
    Is there a work around?
    Thank you.

Layout browser.fullscreen.animateUp to 0 should not have any effect on the operation of the fullscr-toggler that make the toolbar and tab bar will appear if you move the mouse to the top.

It works in a new window?

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/tools > Modules > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is the cause of the problem.

    • Put yourself in the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/tools > Modules > appearance
    • Do NOT click on the reset button on the startup window Mode safe
  • How to hide the address bar when windows 'popup' fullscreening?

Video player Sky TV has an implementation of bad full screen - you can make the player go true fullscreen, but it comes back when he loses focus, so I can't multitask on my two monitors.

The best solution I found is to use their 'pop-out' reader, which opens a new "popup" - style window (locked address bar, no search bar etc) and I can't then full screen window itself (not the player). This allows me to hide

    -the outline of the window
    -the title bar of window
    -Windows Start menu

and it remains enlarged when it loses focus.

However, this does not hide the window address bar. On a larger window of Firefox at the normal address this slides out of sight after a short period. locked style "popup" window is not.

On the offchance that treat differently the "pop-up" windows is a deliberate... Firefox security policy can I disable it?

    Well, this is embarrassing.

I went to try to settle the dom.disable_window_open_feature.location from true to false.

However, before doing so, I noticed that the address bar of the popup window was now floating as usual.

I'll keep an eye on it in case it stops again, but for chalk now it up to the stupidity of the user.

  • fullscreen is not full screen, unless I use "expand" and later goes back

I used to be able rely on full screen and it would be nice, and when I closed ff, after reboot it will re-start in fullscreen. Something a gliched. When I press on full screen in regular format, mode full screen is not complete, only about 90-95% of the screen. I can make it go full screen if I click
"expand" and then full screen, but if, at any time, the screen is not expanded, the same thing happens. If I close enlarged and full screen
It opens with the reduction in full screen. I can't move or stretch out in anything except the normal screen, and even once, I click on full screen. I never had this problem.

Believe it or not, after a week of uninstalling, reinstalling, verification of configurations, I simply décliqués menu toolbar, and now it works perfectly regular, maximize and full screen. Go figure. Thanks to your efforts, people.

    Hello

I have a problem, whenever I try to run a game (and its default window is fullscreen) my screen goes black and my pc freeze just here, there is no way out except manually turn off the laptop (by pressing the power button for 5secs).
However if I put the Move windowed mode, it works fine.

I've already updated my drivers, and now I will try the windows xp mode which was recommended in this forum.

    Any other suggestions?

    Thanks in advance

In fact Bad Company 2 works great in full screen, looks like it's only in certain games.
