Backsaving an eps from Illustrator CS3, CS2.

I created a BPA using Illustrator CS3. However my client wants me backsave eps in format CS2 because that's the only way that the printer can print.

Can someone show me how to do this please?

Thank you very much

File > save as. really. Yes, really. Try it.

  • I can't open an eps from Illustrator CS5 file

    I downloaded a .eps directly from Shutterstock on a PC which opened without problem in CS5.  When I try to open it on my Mac CS5 he said also 'impossible to open or convert to PDF' I have other eps files that are opened without problem.

    I paid for these files, so I really need to open...

    Any ideas?

    you won't lose any vector capabilities if you save it in pdf format.

  • Fireworks CS3 & amp; Illustrator CS3

    I don't know if it is more a problem of Illustrator or a problem of fires of artifice, but since I can post here, but can not connect to the Illustrator forum, I'll start here.

    I have artwork created in Illustrator. Black and white images and I want the white to be transparent, or rather see - through, because I don't mean transparency in opacity. What I want, it's for the background to show through the 'white' parts of the black and white illustrations. For example, if you have a black circle with a white triangle in the middle and put it on a green background, the black circle will be black and the 'white' triangle will be green. If all goes well, that says what I'm trying to do.

    Thus, in Illustrator CS3, I take this picture and use 'exclude' and 'develop' to apply to the illustration. Seems to work very well here. If I create a square of solid color and move behind the illustration, 'white' areas see the color of the square instead of white.

    Now, when I open this image in Fireworks CS3, I get a solid black image. No path where the "white" areas should be. Just a solid black area.

    Now, if I take this original creation, open it in Illustrator 5.5 (!), use "exclude", save and then open this file changed in 1.0 (!) Fireworks, it works fine. I can also open this Illustrator 5.5 file in Fireworks CS3 and it works fine.

    Remember, the illustrations are more complex than a white triangle in a black circle. But, if Illustrator 5.5 and Fireworks 1.0 can manage them, the CS3 versions should be able to handle them as well.

    Because I expect that the CS3 versions should be able to do the same things that can do the much older versions, I can only assume (and hope!) that I have to do something wrong. I would not have to save all my files in Illustrator CS3 to Illustrator 3 files (because it is impossible to record 5 Illustrator CS3), open them in Illustrator 5.5 and "exclude", then save it back and then finally open them in Fireworks CS3, all that involves the use of two Macs, given that the Intel Macs do not work classic. Looks like I should be able to move directly from Illustrator CS3 to Fireworks CS3.

    So, what I am doing wrong?

    Found! Compound path rather than exclude it.

  • all copies illustrator crash, cs2 cs3 cs4 Leopard 10.5.8 dual powermac 1.8

    I block whenever I open it. He suddenly started happening. I couldn't just after the opening to the first pane allowing me to choose what type of document to open print RGB etc., it stopped it. I get the shutter opening it breaks down, it also happens in recent copies of my Illustrator cs4 cs3 cs2 copies will open

    It could be a problem with your font caches.  Fetch fontnuke and try to remove all your SYSTEM and application font caches.

    It is not a matter of preference if it affects all other versions.  You have the following installed?  Photoshop works correctly?

  • CS3: CS2 compatibility issues

    I have Illustrator CS3 on my computer and I need to send a .eps file to someone who needs to open a file from CS2 can someone explain to me how do? I have no idea how to do this kind of things "inherited" that I keep reading everything.

    It shouldn't be a problem with a file .eps, but if you think it would help in the Save dialog box, select the destination and the name and set the bottom menu file type drop-down. When you click OK another window will appear indicating the EPS Options. Here in the upper part of the menu drop-down select CS2 EPS and what other options you want, and then save them.

  • InDesign crashes suddenly then copy and paste from Illustrator...

    This is a really recent thing that never happened before, it's bugging the hell out of me, and google offers no solution so far...

    I am running Mac OS X Snow Leopard and InDesign + Illustrator CS2

    (It's software company Adobe CS4 or CS3 update is not an option)

    My problem is I'm trying to paste a code bar created in a program called "Easy Creator barcode" in an Illustrator document and vectoriser vectorize then the bar code, copy it and paste it into an InDesign document.

    Everything works fine until I have switch from windows from Illustrator to InDesign document - when I try to paste the code barcode described in the InDesign document, it breaks down just InDesign.

    The strange thing is, the two first bar code copied and pasted with zero problems. When I tried to paste the following, the crash has begun.

    I checked my preferences and checked the permissions of drive, but in vain.

    I don't know what is happening, but to do a quick sort as I have a date deadline for a catalog of this week!

    If anyone has any ideas, tips or solutions they would be greatly appreciated!

    See you soon

    If you have already converted to outlines, there are no police who could be replaced or fail to be integrated in the placed art, so a user error cannot cause a problem that would not also be possible with a pasted graphic.

    But if you stick to keep your job, keep your job. Try to make a copy of the file, then export to .inx and open and save as a new .indd. See if that fixes Watt is screing things up.

  • Illustrator CS3 incorrect impression

    Hello

    First of all, I should probably clarify that I am not a professional graphic artist/printer.  I am a graduate student of architecture that has an Epson R1800.  Photoshop CS3 printing seems to work very well and I'm getting a reasonable representation of colors (after configuring proof, turn off the OS X color controls, etc.).  If I try to Illustrator (and InDesign) I get very poor quality prints.  In Illustrator, so that I have my proof set up my Epson paper I use and my printer settings are as follows:

    Color management: Illustrator determine colors

    Printer profile: SPR1800 Standard (right now I just need a few black line drawings on plain paper)

    Render mode: colorimetric Relative

    Now, if I change my print settings in Illustrator, I don't see any change in printing.  If I try to make changes by the "printer" window (after selecting the file > print > printer), I get a warning dialog and still nothing seems to change.  If I export an EPS or PDF and printing out of Photoshop, I get great prints.  I would like to cut the middlemen (PS) and print directly from Illustrator as opposed to the export of many drawings and printing from Photoshop.

    Any help is appreciated!

    It is a known problem in Illustrator CS3 and Indesign Cs3, see the discussion in the son:

  • Illustrator CS3 - Print - output - allow me to select color separations

    Hello

    I'm printing for the first time.  The process of preparing should be really simple right?  Separate the layers of color, using Illustrator, then print each layer on transparent sheets.  Well, I'm about to lose my mind.

    The image is CMYK, it is a unique spot color (I think) which is red and the contours are black.  The printer is a Canon ix6500.

    I can't separate the colors in Illustrator CS3?  Why?  When you select Print > output > Mode > it won't allow me to select the halftone colors.

    I tried to solve this problem by selecting the printer > Adobe Postscript and PPD > Canon ix6500 series.  It allows me to select the colors dithered, but then it will not print, it only saves it in PDF format and print such what.

    Help, please!  Any advice would be appreciated!  I'm going out of my mind here!

    Hey everybody!

    I found the solution! So here are the steps, I hope people out there could benefit from this :-)

    This is what worked for me using a Mac and a non-postscript (Canon iX6540), Illustrator CS6 printer, PostScript known as Scribus downloaded software.  My drawing was created in Illustrator and all colors have been Pantone solid coated spot colors.

    These are the specifications that must be selected in the print dialog box:

    General

    • Predefined print: custom
    • Printer: Adobe PostScript file
    • PPD: Lisanet PDFwriter

    Output

    • Mode: Separations (host-based)
    • Ink Options panel can present spot colors that appear in your design.

    Then you save it :-)  This will save as a PostScript file.  To open it, you will need a software PostScript.  One who seems to have done the trick is to Scribus.

    Thanks for any help at all!  Entry everyone ends by helped me to find the solution!

  • Illustrator CS3 download newsletter

    I installed in Australia after the Christchurch earthquake. All my original records are stored. Illustrator has disappeared from my PowerBook and I need to reinstall it. I have the serial number on my Adobe account. I just need to download the Mac Illustrator CS3 application. Please help as I have a urgent need of finishing the current task.

  • Impossible to update to Illustrator CS3

    Adobe Updater tells me that my software needs an update so I have conscientiously let it download what he wants. It starts the installation and then crashes. He gets 80 to 90 percent by installing the update for Illustrator (13.0.1) and everything is there. I let it run all night and it was just where I left the previous night. I can quit the installer to update without having to force it to quit. Tried to launch Illustrator and it wouldn't start. Gets the display open and closes unexpectedly. I have to re - install Illustrator. This is the 3rd or 4th time I tried to update. Same result. Any suggestions? Help on an iMac G5 2.1 Ghz, 2.5 GB of RAM, running Leopard (OS 10.5.8).

    Your patch seems to be failing because the owner of the file to the following location is not prepared properly.

    / Applications/Adobe Illustrator CS3/Adobe Illustrator.app/Contents/Resources/AMT/application.sif

    (ctrl + click on Adobe Illustrator.app and choose display the contents of the Package to view the files inside the app)

    Correct the owner/group should solve this problem, or simply rename that file to something else to say xapplication.sif, then manually run the update.

    You can download the 13.0.1 Illustrator update from the following link-

    http://www.Adobe.com/support/downloads/product.jsp?product=27&platform=Macintosh

    Let me know if it solves your problem.

  • Need to download illustrator cs3 trial

    HEY EVERYONE, I NEED A TRIAL OF ILLUSTRATOR CS3 BECAUSE MY BOYFRIEND BOUGHT ILLUSTRATOR CS3 A WHILE AGO, BUT HE NEVER USED IT SO I BOUGHT IT OUT OF HIM. WHEN CS3 WAS ALWAYS OUTSIDE, I DOWNLOADED A DEMO AND INSTALLED A BUT IT NOT INSTALLED COMPLETELY, SO I HAVE NO WAY TO REMOVE. I NEED THE TRIAL IN ORDER TO FINISH INSTALLING IT AND THEN UNINSTALL IT AND INSTALL THE ONE I BOUGHT

    At least it wasn't "BOLD", Scott. Anyway have you tried the Script Clean CS3 from the Adobe site? This should get rid of any problems with parts of a test facility.

  • How can we add a menu in Adobe Illustrator CS3?

    Hello

    I want to create a new menu in the structure of menus of Adobe Illustrator, and I want to call another application through this menu. After hours of searching in the web, I came to know that I have to work with Plugin programming. So I downloaded the Illustrator from adobe CS3 SDK and started programming using Visual Studio .NET 2005 with the code examples provided with the SDK. And I'm still not able to find any solution for adding a new menu. The problem is the documentation provided with the sample code is too short, I'm not able to understand the control flow, the functions used in the sample code.

    Please help me!

    Farida kaid

    I disassembled the code example for the bare minimum for you:

    -snip-

    Error AIErr = kNoErr;

    Add the other menus.
    AIMenuItemHandle throwAwayAIMenu;
    AIPlatformAddMenuItemData throwAwayMenuData;
    AIMenuGroup throwAwayMenuGroup;
    char strBuffer [255];

    #define kMenuPlayMenuGroup "Menu group to play".
    #define kSDKMenuGroup 'Group SDK'

    First, we create a normal menu of plug-ins to use a hierarchical root
    throwAwayMenuData.groupName = "utility window";
    throwAwayMenuData.itemText = SUctopstr ("my menu text group");

    error = sMenu-> ToolBarMenuButton.AddMenuItem (message-> d.self, kSDKMenuGroup, & throwAwayMenuData,
    0, & throwAwayAIMenu);

    If (error)
    GoTo error;

    Now declare us the menu item, a menu group
    sMenu-> AddMenuGroupAsSubMenu (kSDKMenuGroup, 0, throwAwayAIMenu, & throwAwayMenuGroup);

    Now we can add menu items to it.
    throwAwayMenuData.groupName = kSDKMenuGroup;
    * strBuffer = '\0 ';

    throwAwayMenuData.itemText = SUctopstr ("my menu text");

    error = sMenu-> ToolBarMenuButton.AddMenuItem (message-> d.self, "menuname1", & throwAwayMenuData, 0, & throwAwayAIMenu);

    If (error)
    GoTo error;

    -snip-

    Basically, this is going to create a group menu (if it is not already present) called my "text menu group" and then it creates a menuitem in this group called "my menu text. If you select this menu it will trigger notifications that occur in menuhandler_go_item() or something like that - it should be quite obvious in the code example. Normally cling you to the handle, you get when add a menuitem in the handler code, you can tell what menu item is triggered, but if you just do not let ‑‑ you will not be called unless that its your only menuitem. Then, you just do whatever it is you need to do.

    I don't know what you mean by 'add url' for the plugin. You mean you want to add a menu when you click on the point that launches the browser to a specific URL? If not that, I'm not sure what you mean.

    Launch a .exe or another process is not in the scope of the Illustrator SDK - which is the specific platform and you'd better read the Win32 SDK documentation or find a forum for General Windows programming.

  • Image editing in InDesign (copy and paste from Illustrator)

    Hello

    I have a scenario and I hope someone can clarify:

    I'm working on a Mac using Adobe Illustrator & Indesign CS4. Whenever I have copy and paste or drag an image in illustrator into Indesign, this particular chart is not editable in InDesign, and it's ok.  I want it like this to the clerk/typists to use in their InDesign files.

    However, on a PC with Vista, when the chart is copied and pasted/dragged from illustrator into indesign, this graph becomes editable using the direct Selection tool in InDesign.  I want to know is if there is a way to disable this option on the PC version as on mac?

    Thanks in advance

    Dee

    Hello

    Perhaps the difference lies with the way Illustrator fits images.

    Here, with my trusty CS3 in 'preferences files and Clipboard' (translated from the french), I have the choice of exporting the Clipboard in the format PDF and AICB format.

    If I understand your message, I guess Mac export as a PDF and Vista exports AICB format.

    An audit of preferences would help with this,

    Good luck.

  • Cannot display registration page for Illustrator CS3

    I've installed Illustrator CS3 on a new Windows 7 computer. When I run the app, a page opens that seems to be looking for a website to Adobe online recording, however, it is said that cannot display the page. He said: "ensure that the web address https://www.adobeereg.com is correct.»

    However, there are no options for what to do if the address is not correct. I can't go further, minimize or even close the window, and I can not use the product if it is open. It seems that Adobe is my product to a non-functional online registration process hostage. It better be something that can be solved easily, because Adobe offers no phone support for Illustrator.

    I was able to kill the window. I just had to press Alt + F4. By clicking on the button close did nothing.
