Backup and restore with MacPro and Pegasus using Time Machine
Hello
I have more than one mac mini, and Mac Pro. I have external Pegasus 12 TB and two external hard drives of 4 TB.
Im trying to back up all servers in those storage unit.
I can see them in every window of servers as being selectable but I get an error of error OSSTATUS 2
It was suggested to connect all readers behind the time machine backup, but it has not been that reliable.
Do you have a suggestion of how to back up each server Pegasus 12 TB and 4 TB two external disks?
I can't wait to hear your thoughts
Joe
From a given computer, you can back up all drives connected locally to this Time Machine backup drive.
The backup drive Time Machine for a particular computer can be a locally attached disk, a drive attached to a "Tall" Time Capsule or a network drive 'shared' by another Mac on your network. The Time Machine backup disk cannot be a NAS drive, because the restoration of these discs is not completely reliable.
The space required for the proper functioning of Time Machine is at least two times greater than the amount to save, and 2.5 to 3 times more is recommended.

How to restore a folder and subfolders using Time Machine (TM)?
I need to restore a folder and all its files and subfolders, with the latest at a specific date.
I'm running Yosemite (10.10.5) and plan to upgrade to El Capitan, shortly.
To the restored file, includes everything I have he would have seen that day. Some folders/subfolders may not have changed for a long time (years). Others may have changed recently.
An example of this is the Evernote database folder. In order to recover some of the notes that have been deleted or modified, I need to restore my folder of Evernote completely because it was on a certain date. It must include all files/folders that I've had to this date.
How can I do this?
I did a lot of research, a lot of research, read many documents (including Apple) on the use of TM, and I can't find any information that explains how to do this.
If TM can do, there's another backup system which can, would you recommend for this?
Thanks for your help.
I suggest that visit you Time Machine FAQ of Pondini helps with Time Machine. See in particular http://pondini.org/TM/15.html and http://pondini.org/TM/16.html .

I just restored my HD Mac from a time machine backup and PS 4 will not open. I get an error code 150:30. No idea what I need to do?
Most likely your Photoshop installation was damaged by the restoration. Re-installing Photoshop CS4. You can find the latest version that has been published here: products CS4 download

Using Time Machine or the Migration Assistant to transfer information from and old Mac to a new one
I had to think about upgrading a Macbook Air to a Macbook Pro and have done research on how pretty much everything (files, account icloud, etc.) to move to a new computer so I know how to do it when the time comes. I didn't save my current computer at the time I got it and didn't know whether it was necessary to do it before the transfer. Also, I found two different ways to move information from one mac to another, one way being using the migration wizard, the other via the time machine. The problem is that I've never used time machine (I checked my settings and it is turned off). I was curious to know which option would be the 'best' way and if not never back up my computer would be a problem. (If its possible, could someone also please explain how to back up my computer?)
Thank you for taking the time to read this and I look forward I hope to get a reply soon!
I use Time Machine often (and have used since its introduction). I also upgraded my Mac hardware quite often (about every 18 months). Whenever I move to a new machine, I use the Migration Wizard (and not Time Machine). I've never had a problem.
Then I suggest that you need not Time machine specifically in order to change computers. However, you really need to keep backups simply because the material is not, and without a backup, you are subject to lose everything you have on your computer.

Hello. I recently got a new computer and transfer all my files across using Time Machine. Whenever I try to connect to any CC (including CC) program, the program stops immediately and an Apple error happens. I have uninstalled and reinstalled CC twice with no result and removed all Adobe products on my computer and nothing works.
I've seen similar discussions before... transfer does not work, you must install

Want to format a disk and set up time machine
Hi all
I don't currently have access to a MAC, so yo please would undergo some basic questions?
I have a client with a G-Drive 2 GB with NTFS. I would like to format it for what is Time Machine friendly and configure for Time Machine. Could someone point me to the proper indication?
How to partition and format the disk and what (FS) file system should I use?
Time Machine RESIDE on every MAC or what I need to download and install it?

I see on the web when you plug the thing, get you will invite to time machine.
1. consider a Mac and then see #5.
2. see #5.
3 Time Machine is present on every Mac running 10.5 and newer.
4 elements of it are in system preferences, then the Applications folder.
5. Yes, you will be. Time Machine manages the process of formatting before the first backup.

I'm using Time Machine (1 TB), works very well, but because full starting to delete previous backups. Can I add another (LaCie 1 TB) HARD disk for backups? If so, how to proceed. Thank you!
You can add another drive to accept backups Time Machine... assuming it is correctly formatted for Mac to Mac OS extended (journaled), but things are not exactly "continue."
You have not indicated if you intend to add the player to the USB port on the Time Capsule, or connect directly to your computer using USB or FireWire connections. Or the other method works, with the option to connect directly to the computer being the faster connection.
Once the disc is added, you would go in Time Machine preferences (click the "clock" at the top of the screen on your Mac) to add the disk for Time Machine backups and delete the old Time Capsule disk, since backups will go is no longer this destination.
Since you have a new drive, Time Machine will do a new full backup of your Mac and then go forward with incremental backups.

Restore the data in the external drive using Time Machine
Hi y ' All!
I store my photos in my external hard drive because there is not enough space in memory is internal. This is actually my second drive external hard than my first (Adata HE720) is not the beginning of last year. Unfortunately, my WD Elements has stopped working and I can't restore data using Time Machine, as the drive is not found in Time Machine under devices, and I'm sure that I restored my photo library and many other files from my old external drive using Time Machine.
Can someone tell me how to recover my old files? I have many other important data here including my photos and I don't want to lose them. I'm fairly positive that Time Machine allows me to get the data as is the point of it.
Thank you in advance!
P.S. If you guys have any recommendation on a reliable external drive, please do tell me!
Hey guys, I found the problem.
It turns out that I'm never giving time Machine to deselect my external drive to backup; Therefore, there is absolutely no copy done during execution Time machine. I really don't understand why Apple made this the default behavior, but it is what it is.
So, people, don't forget to go to Time Machine preferences and make sure that you remove the external hard drive that you want to backup under options. Once you do, you can enter the time Machine and your drive will appear under devices.
See you soon.

Use Time Machine to restore iTunes (single) 12.3?
Is it possible to use Time Machine to restore just my previous version of iTunes? I really don't want to go through the hassle to restore my entire system since I directories that are really annoying save, but iTunes 12.4 is radically inconvenient and I'd much rather have version 12.3 return. Thank you.
Yes. Time Machine can restore all the files you want.
Choose what you want restored by making the front of the list, and then click Time Machine icon in the Dock.

Using Time Machine for subsequent backups
I would like to know how can I use Time Machine for frequent backups after the initial. Specifically, I want to know how I can assure you that Time Machine DO backup files that have changed since the initial AND only the new backup files that have been added to the hard drive since the last backup? In other words, Time Machine will do it automatically or it will save all the entire hard drive again?
Time Machine which will automatically
Yes.

Can I use Time Machine backup of my MacBook Pro 2011 (15 "/ 500 G HD/El Capitan") to set up my new (2016 13 "/ 1 TB HD) MacBook Pro? How? I want to pretty much recreate my whole installation/files.
See this discussion of Migration Wizard. You will notice that the Time Machine is one of the sources that you can connect your new Mac to transfer what was on your old Mac that TM was back up.
