printer is idle (mac os Lion)

My printer does not work after update to mac os Lion. Queue displays the message 'Printer Ready' but I can't see the documents that I chose to print and sometimes even I see not the printer to my desktop. I tried to reset the printing system and add the printer again, but I have the same problem. Help, please!

Hello

The HP Laserjet 1100 is not compatible with Macintosh, envoirnment as you can find below:

http://h20000.www2.HP.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/document.jsp?objectID=c02925114

You should update the PSC 1350 driver as shown below:

http://support.HP.com/us-en/document/c02911238

If the update fails for any reason, install the HP printer software 2.8 bundle in order to update the printer driver:

    Hello

Yes, go ahead and put this folder in the trash, I would also suggest restarting the Mac and repair disk permissions in order to avoid any possible permissions errors that can impact on the installation:

    Hello
Follow the steps below to repair disk permissions:

    1. open the Applications folder.
    2. go to the Utilities folder.
    3. double-click on disk utility.
4 Select the hard disk that contains the boot volume.
    5. go to the first aid tab and select Repair disk permissions.
Note: This process may take several minutes depending on the Mac and the amount of the permissions that need to be repaired. The progress log shows when the process was completed.

Once you have finished my steps above to reinstall the software.

  • HP Deskjet D2560 print only on Mac OS 10.9 Mavericks

    Hello

I was already on Mac OS Lion (10.7) and my printer worked perfectly well. So I did a clean install of Mac OS Mavericks (10.9) and I can't print anything.

I added the printer successfully to my OS X system. The printer appears idle (with the green icon) in the Control Panel Printers & Scanner. When I try to print, I select my printer in the print dialog box, and then click on print. I see the icon of the printer that appears in the dock with a red number '1', then the icon disappear as if the job was finished. Green button blincks on my printer, but nothing happens. I tried to delete and add my printer several times. There is nothing in the paper from the printer.

The printer appears in the list of printer supported by the Mavericks, so I don't understand what is happening. In my case, is not in the section of troubleshooting the hp Web site.

    What can I do?

    Thank you!

  • How to configure my Mac (OSX Lion) to receive faxes directly from my HP Officejet 6500 +.

I have a Mac OS x Lion and a HP Officejet 6500 +. I would like to save incoming faxes directly to my computer, rather than having the 6500 to print them. I installed the driver of HP6500 on Mac: print and outgoing fax jobs. Using the configuration Print & Scan on Mac System Preferences, I can select the Officejet 6500 fax, click on "receive options" and turn on "receive faxes on this computer": I got him to answer after 1 ring and save faxes to an appropriate folder.

The problem is that the incoming faxes even print directly on the 6500 and are not registered on the computer.

I tried following the instructions on the manual for 6500 located here: http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c02519721.pdf but the indications on page 57 for the implementation using the HP tell me to select the "applications" icon in the toolbar and it isn't here.

Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

Well, this got me half way there, thank you.

Once you have installed the software which recommends ShlomiL, then you must enable the option Archive digital as described, which won't be available unless the device is physically connected via a USB cable. Wireless is not an option. The value "Digital Fax archiving" 'Save to Folder' and then choose a folder that is accessible in writing-world. The folder must be specific for incoming and used faxes for anything else! The 'Notification of incoming Fax' value to what you want.

Then go into the front panel of the 6500 and disable printing fax. (There is an option buried under "base set up the fax / Fax HP Digital")

Finally, create an automator workflow that automatically prints any picture of new place in the folder of incoming faxes created there are two steps. Set it to print on a printer laserjet cheap rather than ink-jet 6500 ridiculously expensive. (Or skip this step if you're ok with not having a copy of incoming faxes).

You can ignore the options useful and well-designed integrated on your Apple about "receive faxes on this computer". HP only plays nice with that.

I still hate the HP, but at least now I didn't spend $35 for a new inkjet cartridge every two weeks.

  • print from my Mac

When you try to print a document of 3 pages of my computer, my ENVY 7645 select all pages, only print Page 1. When I try to select, say, page 2 and press on print, I receive a message that no page has been selected to print even if I chose «from page 2 to page 2»

    Hi @tposh,

    Welcome to the HP Forums!

I understand that you cannot print from your Mac OS X 10.10 to your printer HP Envy 7645. I'm happy to help you!

To get help, I'll need to know:

    1. If the printer is connected, USB, Ethernet, or wireless.
    2. If the printer is able to make copies. Copy of the Documents or photos with a HP ENVY 5640 5660, 7640 e - all - in - one, HP Officejet 5740 and 8040 e - all-in - One Printer Series.
    3. If the power cable is connected to a surge protector, or directly to a wall outlet. Questions when it is connected to an uninterruptible power supply/Strip/surge protector power. This is true for printers and ink jet.

In the meantime, please have a look through this guide, "Printer is off-line" Message appears on the computer and the printer does not print: Mac OS X. Select v10.8 Mountain Lion OS X and OS X v10.9 Mavericks and follow these steps as they will work on Mac OS X 10.10.

Hope this guide helps and hope to hear from you soon!

  • Printing problems with MAC OS x 10.7

I have a new MAC with LION installed and I got a curious experience involved printing with both my HP printers: CM1312nfi and C1120n.

In the first instance, after one by one by apple-store settings, printers worked, after a few days, they could be detected, but print gave an error.

After the call apple and all they suggested (reset print and adding them again, either via USB to wifi) tried nothing has changed.

A few days later I tried the steps suggested and got a new behavior: a software download.

But at the end of the download and installation, the following message appears:
"the software for printing has been installed correctly. Please reinstall the software from the manufacturer. »

My printers are currently supported by the LION, but the problem is that HP has NOT not any software for any of them to download from the report:

"With the release of OS X 10.7 Lion, HP provides software and updated printer drivers." These updates are available via Apple software updates in Mac OS X."

    My questions are:
How to get a driver to work for them?
    Will I update the firmware?
Maybe 10.6 against pilot would be nice as well? If so, where to download?

    Hello

Normally, the software must be downloaded on Apple software update exectly.

With the help of a software package intended for other operating system is not recommended, may not work and may affect the performance of your Mac as well.

    Let's try the following steps:

First, enter the printer preferences > print & scan, right click in the background printers area and reset the system of printong once more.

Launch Applications > utilities > disk utility, select your operating system to partition and click the repair disk permissions button located under the first aid tab, in order to be sure, there are not any permissions issue that caused the failure of the software update.

Download and install the full package of HP printer software 2.7, the installation contains all the HP drivers available by Apple Software Update:

    http://support.Apple.com/downloads/DL907/en_US/HewlettPackardPrinterDrivers2.7.2.dmg

Enter once more printing & scanning, click the sign more, add the HP Color LaserJet CM1312 MFP Series , and then try to print.

On the C1120n model you mentioned, could you please specify the exact model?

Looking for HP and google I could not locate this model for any printer series.

Just trying to add the printer as for the CM1312, hoewever please specify model correct you, we will be that there is no comprehensive software available for the specific model.

Please let me know any progress

  • Impression of failure of communication with Mac Mountain Lion and Photosmart c7280

I have flowed through many messages about the printing and problems of Mountain Lion (10.8.3) faults and cannot get the answer I need.  I use this printer (HP Photosmart c7280) very well with the Lion of mountain for several months now and just recently have had problems printing.  I can scan very well, but printing is another story.  I deleted the printer, re-installed, restarted, unplugged, replugged, reset the printing system, deleted and reinstalled the drivers, ad nauseam!  I don't know what the problem is.  I am connected with a USB cable.  I send a print job, it can get 30 to 67% of the way sent and start printing and then I get this error: failure to communicate: the computer is therefore more able to communicate with your printer. Turn off the printer, check your printer connections and look for errors in the printer and turn on the printer.
Check the printer to find errors.

I just tried to install the new driver and new hpprinterdrivers2.14 and they used to install.

Today, I can't get more than one or two lines to print before it stops.  I don't know what else to try.  Help, please!

    Hello

First make sure that the material can print without problems by printing a test page:

    http://support.HP.com/us-en/document/c01448018

In addition, have you tried plugging the USB stick on another free port of your Mac?

Be sure to use a USB 2.0 standard, not longer than 2 m long cable.

Make sure it is directly connecting to your Mac and not through a USB extention or a hub port on an Apple keyboard, which is not powered.

So I recommend you try a different USB cable, then check any change.

  • Installing MFP HP LaserJet Professional M1217nfw wireless on mac os Lion 10.8

I have a horrible time trying to get my printer put in place.  I can finally get it to print with the USB cord, but I can't seem to set up to be wireless.  I have watched the video and then I get to the EWS browser and fill in the required information.  However, when I click on 'Apply', nothing happens.  I get a blank screen.

I can't get any further.  I worked on this for 2 days now and it is not frustrating.

Any help that anyone can give me would be REALLY appreciated, so thank you very much in advance!

    Hi gregsmcnugget,

The printer has an IP address assigned to it?

If so, follow the steps outlined in the document below

Installing the printer on a Mac under OS X 10.8 (only for network connections) Mountain Lion

  • Problem with Officejet 6500 has more wireless on my Mac running Lion

I just got the Officejet 6500 has more. I was able to make it work with my HP PC Windows XP (would not work with the radio, but it's probably a problem with this computer - connected very well with USB). But I don't see the option to add it on my Mac (main computer) running OS Lion. I'm completely updated on Mac software. I see my other printer as usual (also a HP) on Mac.

Tried to reboot several times. I looked on the HP site to various articles and it seems that I might need to make an update of the firmware on the printer, but when I downloaded the software (on the PC), my printer is gray and so wouldn't let me - or does not need the upgrade. Then. I can't see the printer on the Mac and don't know what else to do. Ideas? Thank you... Is the printer on my wireless network - I can not see the IP address and others.

I don't really know exactly what I did - added to the printer with its IP address and manually the software (added name - I also had a HP update tonight for the printer software, but that only did nothing), then printing I tried and it still would not work.  I used the adjusted IP address, which I found on the dashboard of Verizon. And for some reason, once I put that in manually on the printer, it remained there, even when in desperation I tried to put it back the "detect network" setting. Sorry - but this is not quite logical or in the order.

Also, I restarted the router, then the printer. Somewhere among all the things I tried, to my amazement, it finally worked! At first, I saw the IP address as the name of the printer (which I had entered it), and then he asked to be changed to the actual model. I did it and it now seems to work. Here, I could tell exactly what I did, but perhaps in what I wrote, you will get a glow and know WHY it worked?

I wanted to thank you again for all the time you spent to try and help me get this working. It is really really REALLY appreciated and I definitely click the congratulations for you! Thank you very much!
