"Backup canceled because all the files were ignored"

Hello

I'm performing backup of database by using the following command:

Run {}
allocate channel c1 device type disk;
database backup incremental level 0 more entered archivelog delete;
output channel c1;
Validate restore them database;
}

While they inspected the RMAN newspapers, it ends, and I can say that it is a good backup. I can also list the components of backup that has been backed up. After this step, I want the flash_recovery_area on a backup tape, I used this command:

Run {}
allocate channel t1 device type sbt;
BACKUP RECOVERY AREA;
REMOVE the TYPE of DEVICE OBSOLETE sbt;
output channel t1;
}

When I do that, I get this message from the newspapers, and I see not all tape backup:

-NEWSPAPERS-
allocated channel: t1
channel t1: SID = 503 device type = SBT
channel t1: Oracle Secure Backup

From 23 July 11 backup
Specification does not match any newspaper archived in the recovery catalog
Specification does not match any data file copy in the repository
Specification does not match any backupset in the repository
backup cancelled because all the files were ignored
Backup finished July 23, 11

RMAN retention policy apply to the order
RMAN retention policy is set to 7 days recovery window
not found obsolete backups

output channel: t1

RMAN >

I don't understand why I get this message when in fact, I archivelog and datafile backupset saved in my FRA. Any ideas?

Thank you!

CONFIGURE CONTROLFILE AUTOBACKUP FORMAT FOR DEVICE TYPE DISK to 'C:\oracle\flash_recovery_area\PROD\AUTOBACKUP\%d-%F ';
CONFIGURE CHANNEL DEVICE TYPE DISK MAXPIECESIZE 2 G FORMAT 'C:\oracle\flash_recovery_area\PROD\BACKUPSET\%d-%T-%U ';

When you specify a FORMAT, Oracle takes this format as the backup location. It may happen to be physically identical to your FRA, but it is not logically the same as your FRA.
A BACKUP RECOVERY AREA is not 'find' these backups because they are not logically in the FRA.

You will also find that Oracle automatic management of the FRA (where it automatically removes OBSOLETE etc backups) will not work against these backuppieces - once again, because they are "not in the FRA.

A good backup RMAN that goes to the FRA relies on 'db_recovery_file_dest' (and "db_recovery_file_dest_size"). This is set up, a simple "BACKUP DATABASE" (or "BACKUP AS COMPRESS BACKUPSET DATABASE") will create BackupSets in the FRA. It will automatically create the appropriate folder structure (each day is a new folder). Controlfile AutoBackups, too, should use the FRA.

See the Oracle support Article: 'configuration correctly the box Flash recovery to allow the release of recoverable space [ID 316074.1] ".

  • backup completed, but files were ignored: file does not exist

    When I run the Backup on my Win7Pro/64, I always get a warning at the end, saying:
    'Backup has not completed successfully', and when I click on the button options, I get the following:
    "The backup completed, but some files were ignored.
    And when I click on view the ignored files, I get:
    "Backup has encountered a problem during backup of the C:\Users\MyAccount\Desktop file. Error: (the system cannot find the specified file. (0 x 80070002)) »

    And indeed, this folder does not exist, as my profile files have all been transferred to another drive. So why always backup tries to back up this folder that does not exist?
    I would like to get rid of this error, b/c I always fear that these strange symptoms could hide a more serious problem (like my records real user not be backed up correctly...)

    Hello

    Follow the steps from the article below to solve the problem.

  • My PC crashed. Restored on a new record and a new installation of FireFox. I can still access all the files. How do I take the old bookmarks if there is no backup?

    My PC crashed. Restored on a new record and a new installation of FireFox. I can still access all the files on the old drive. How do I take the old bookmarks if no backup exists, or has been completed? Does not save bookmarks of FireFox auto? If, then what is the file name and where is normally stored by FireFox?

    In fact, it can be easier...

    If you have the old drive connected as, say, drive E, go to:

    E:\Users\username

    Then click in the address bar and paste it after this and press ENTER to open it:

    \AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles

    Normally, you have only one file, which has a random string followed by "default." In this case, click on this file and find the subfolder bookmarkbackups.

    If you find multiple profile folders, look inside to find the most recently updated backups.

    To restore the backup files, see: restore bookmarks from a backup or move them to another computer

  • User accounts - I created a user account, but now I can't seem to find all the files that were on the pc before I put it in place... what happened to them?

    I never had an aaount usser put on the pc and had a large number of backup files.  Then I set up a new user account and it auto saet as administrator, but all the files are not there.  There is an another user account on the pc and it is called comments but the files aren't there either.  Is there a way to recover the missing data?

    Hi ColleenBrown-Hickey,

    Setting up a new user account does not remove the files. Search if the file is present on the computer by using Windows Search.

    For more information, see:
  • cannot delete the folder I am one user have access to all the files and folders can remove any but one could take ownership of disk backup file

    Cannot delete the folder, I can move it, is presantly on my desk, I'm only user I have access to all the files and folders can remove everything, but this one, took possession of the file. file is made backup disk before I reloaded vista Explorer cause did not work right

    Try to open an administrator command prompt. Then cd to the desktop. Finally, run 'attrib-h - r s' and also ' attrib s h - r/s -*.» * ». Then right-click on the folder and check the button unblock. Similarly, with all the files in the folder, pledge. Never underestimate your own stupidity.

  • How to list all the files in a backup job?

    User GreyGnome:

    I would like to get a list of all the files on a file system backup task. Is this possible?

    Through the CLI, if possible. On Linux.

    Thank you.

    Posted by AdrianMoir

    Hi GreyGnome,

    You can actually set this via the user interface on the backup options for employment. See attached picture.

    This will allow you to define a path and file name of a text file that lists all the files that are backed up by work, when the work is performed.

    Once the option set is saved under a name, if you create jobs through the CLI, with nvjobcreate, you can specify the selectionoptionsetname - , by using the name of the set option that you created with the entry 'Path to Backup Log'.

    The text file will display the name of the file in the following attributes...

    Backup Path, State, Type, size (bytes), Timestamp, attributes.

    Thank you very much

    Adrian.

  • I have about 14 000 songs in my library, about 4 copies of each of them. Try to remove duplicates, but can only do one at a time. I spent many hours, check all the files I want to delete only to find out that I can't delete them both?

    I have about 14 000 songs in my iTunes library, but really there are only about a quarter as much because there are so many duplicates. I don't know how they got there in the first place, and try to remove them is infuriating! I have already spent several hours going by checking all the files I want to remove (thinking that I would delete then all files at once) - only to find out that I still have to delete them one at a time. There must be a better way! Help, please.

    If you don't know that you want to delete all checked the songs in your library:

    • Create a new smart playlist with the following rules:

      This will show then checked all the songs in your library.
    • Select all the items in this playlist (Ctrl-A)
    • Hold the SHIFT key and press DELETE - follow the prompts to remove songs from your library and (if necessary) your PC media files

    In case of problem, you must back up your library before you do just in case the results are not what you expect - see tips to the user of turingtest2 on your iTunes for Windows with SyncToy to backup library for a suitable and recommended method.

    There is no 'simple' way to reliably remove duplicates from a library, but see the intelligence in this threadon the use of a scripted for removal of duplicates (for example).

    Long-term, try and avoid adding anything in your iTunes library that already exists in it - that's how arise the duplicates (unlike an opinion apparently dispersed, iTunes not of is duplicate anything in normal operation).  I've seen several comments suggesting here a few users to correctly copy their library from an old computer to a new one and then add the content of its media files - guaranteed way to finish with a copy of database entries or media files.

    ============================================

    FWIW... Regardless of what I or someone else
    you... the best bet is to maintain up-to-date backups 'Always'
    of * all * your files, photos, documents, ect...
    external media. (Personally I archive 'all' of my personal files)
    on two different external hard drives and data DVDs)

    First... If you have Picasa or photo library open when
    you go to your pictures folder and try renaming a
    folder... the warning could be because these same files
    are being accessed in Picasa and photo gallery.

    You do not have three locations of photo storage... Photo
    Gallery and Picasa are simply a photo viewers / editors.

    Copies of your photos are not archived in these applications.

    And... one or two programs to uninstall does not remove
    your photos that you have saved in your folder images/s.

    Your actual photos would be stored on your hard drive...
    more than likely in your... Pictures folder or other folders
    of your choice.

    However... Photo gallery maintains an exclusive file
    that contains the original versions of your files that have changed for the
    goal to return to the unedited version.

    If there is no chance you would like to return to your
    versions to the original edition, you can remove the
    files in the original Images folder.

    in Windows 7, you can find the original image folder to the
    following path:

    C:\Users\%username%\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows
    Photos of Gallery\Original

    Why use the network path?

    Copy all the files backup on VM2 for example C:\Backup folder and try

     set DBID ...
     restore controlfile from 'C:\Backup\C-3507808503-20130531-00';
     alter database mount;
     catalog start  with 'C:\bakup';
     restore database;

    If you are using same directories for databases on VM1 and VM2, not catalog must start with command.
    Because RMAN Catalog backup VM1 information in the control of catalog file repository.

  • How can I erase all the files on my iPod Nano (6th generation) and start over?

    I can sync is more manually all the files that I need on my iPod Nano (6th generation) to my Macbook (OS 10.6.8) because it is full.  Instead of delete folders and songs about the Nano, which would take forever, I'd rather delete it all and start by cleaning up the folder that I keep in my iTunes library (11.4), then by loading all on the Nano.

    How do I:

    (1) delete all music from the Nano?

    (2) see how many in the iPod folder in my iTunes library Macbook so I know what to remove?

    I know this must be a simple process, but it's been a long time I did!  Thanks for any help out there.

    When your iPod is connected to your MacBook, open iTunes, click on your iPod in the sidebar and in the 'Summary' tab, click 'Restore iPod.'

    If you don't see the sidebar in iTunes, go to the view menu in the menu bar, and then click see the sidebar.

    Hi BarbaraJenkins,

    ·         How do you delete files?

    ·         Did you remove them permanently? (Shift + delete)

    ·         What is the operating system installed on the computer?

    You can check if the files are available in the Recycle Bin

    Windows 7: recover files from the Recycle Bin

    Windows Vista: recover files from the Recycle Bin

    If there are no files in the Recycle Bin, then unfortunately, you maybe not be able to recover their return.

    However, try looking for a third-party software that can help you to do. You may need to search the Internet.

    Hello

    • You receive an error message when burning CDs?
    • What were the changes made before the issue started?
    To resolve this problem, do one or more of the following and then try again:

    a. Verify that the CD burner is properly connected.

    b. clean the disc and verify that it is not damaged.

    c. try a different brand of blank discs.

    d. If another program is currently burning files on the CD, wait until the burning process is completed.

    e. Quit other programs that may be using the CD burner.
