  Last year, I panicked when I thought I had a virus. Rather than rely on my own multiple back-up system, I guess someone knew more about computers that I do and let someone else in my computer. My X 60 has not worked properly since. The Thinkvantage button does not work, and it is hit and Miss as to if I can get the thinkvantage functions to work. My wireless radio buttons don't work at all, and the indicator wireless lights turn on and turns off at will.

  I tried to reinstall the application and the update of all implement the Lenovo site, but nothing worked, so I think I'll have to reinstall the orginal factory settings and start over again to clarify these issues.

  I backed up all my data, and made discs (just in case) recovery... now my question is, how do I start to "rescue and recovery" / 'reinstall factory settings' when the blue button does nothing when I push at the start?

  (Works under XP - if that makes a difference).

  Problem solved.

  I managed to get into Rescue and Recovery manually and found that I had a backup on my C drive that existed prior to my problems. I just restore to that date and "presto!" the blue button works again!

  I'll have to spend the rest of the day, re-installing everything that has been added or upgraded from a year, but this simple step seems to have solved my problem. Who would have thought that I had a copy of backup to disk C - I thought I backed everything up to an external drive!

  Tip for any staff of Lenovo, reading this - if your security people knew more about Thinkvantage program, I could have solved this problem months ago - these are them who sent offshore to find updates to day and re - install Thinkvantage to try to get the blue button works again.

  I get this when I try to uninstall Acrobat X Pro so that I can reinstall so that I can get the update that always gives me an error 1301 and does not update.  It is a complete mess.

  Most Mac applications can be uninstalled just moving them unceremoniously in the basket (as long as they are not running in time, of course). Simply move Adobe Acrobat X Pro to the trash, make sure that your mac still works correctly, and then empty the trash.

  Under Tools > Options > tabs, "warn me when closing multiple tabs" is selected. Also, in all: config, browser.tabs.warnOnClose is set to 'true '. I still have several tabs open. However, sometimes my hand slips or the mouse falls off the table and Firefox closes without any warning.

  The original problem was not no Firefox closes when the X has been clicked. The Fast Close Tabs addon is a workaround, but it has pretty much solved the problem: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/fast-close-tabs/

  This addon alters the function of X to close a single tab and not the entire window. Mind you, it would be even if the core Firefox really made this options says it did, or at least if the options have been reformulated to take account of what they actually do. But the Fast Close Tabs addon is a pretty good alternative.

  Ok.  This is my second time to enter in this.  I have an ADF and have tried SEVERAL times to scan but my scanner WILL NOT use the ADF.  I chkd information available on this forum but nothing I've tried has worked.  It is "operator error" or "hardware error"?  I tried to use this feature because I bought the printer and it never worked. Finally decided I had to see it through and try to get help.  But I worked on it for 4 hours and feel like a "hostage" - the frustration isn't quite describe how I feel now.  I get in a panick because I needed to scan 10 pps two hours ago and here I am STILL sitting trying to get this d * thing #$ % to work.  Help, please!

• How can you make Firefox the default browser when the normal route does not work?

  Im trying entirely chrome once a friend showed how my firefox got his act together. However I can't for the life of me set it as default browser. I tried the 'make firefox the default browser' button in firefox, making that opens the windows default programs Panel. Whenever I try to use the Panel she simply sets the Protocol http for every night, which is not yet installed! The registry key for the associations of html and URLs of firefox have been corrupted so I scoured their in regedit (at HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\FirefoxHTML and HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\FirefoxURL) and them deleted entirely, then redid them by clicking on the make default firefox button in the options.
