backup, formatting disks, the hidden files

I've been backing up my system, but then had to cancel because he was not accept cd vacuum that I inserted when the computer asked an external driver. but there are several folders on drives c, d and f, which some are hidden, access denied and empty after canceling the backup. the problem is that my laptop is new and I havn't yet many applications installed and still only 12.8 GB off 52.4 gb is left in drive c, which is unusual, because I have installed many applications. the list of files are:

$recycle.bin - its hidden and read-only

AUTH Journal

startup-hidden

hidden config.msi

documents and settings-cant access, hidden n read-only

HP-hidden

PerfLogs

program files

program (x 86)

program data - hidden

recovery - hidden

swsetup

the system volume of hidden information

System.SAV - hidden

users

WinAVR-it is an application I have installed

Windows

hidden bootmgr

hidden Hiberfil.sys

pagefile.sys - hidden

Here are the uses. I also see hidden folders and files, and when I tried to delete some files above a message came that deleting these files may corrupt and functioning of windows and they were system files.

so please tell me how to erase unwanted files and hide the hidden files and folders.

    Hello

    ·          What program did you use to back up files?

Here are two ways to restore the saved messages:

Step 1: Before you start Windows Mail, copy the folder saved in C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows mail storage folder.

Step 2: Start Windows Mail and import messages in the backup storage folder.

  • How to display the hidden files and folders even if I've already enabled "Show hidden files, folders and drives" to "Advanced settings"?

How to display the hidden files and folders even if I've already enabled "Show hidden files, folders and drives" to "Advanced settings"?

After I enabled "Show hidden files, folders and drives" in 'Advanced settings', I can't yet see in the folder but I know there is a file in this program of WinRAR folder form as pictured below where I opened the case both at the same time.

Hope you can help in this case...

It would be possible that the file is marked as a system folder (which is just a check box in properties such as the hidden check box). So in your folder options, uncheck the "Hide protected operating system files" and see if it will be visible.

Or another thing to try: remonter back a level, hold down SHIFT while you right-click the complete file and choose "Open command window here", then type DIR to see if the file is listed.

    Hello

On this same laptop, there seems to be a problem with * Folder Options - Show hidden files and Folders.*

  • Find and rename the hidden files

    Hello

Is there a way to list all hidden files in a directory? By hidden I mean files that start with ".".

    Thank you.

Thanks for the replies. I understand the logic, but I kept getting a blank list with myDir.entryList (QDir::Hidden); That was my original problem. But it seemed to solve it using this myDir.entryList(QDir::Files |) QDir::Hidden). Thank you very much.

  • Revealing the hidden files

    Windows Explorer: -.

If I right click on a folder, then choose Properties, I have the possibility of converting all files in subordinate files read/write and who are.
How can I get the same effect to "unmask" all hidden files?  that is, to change the attributes of all hidden files.
Orders for a file of DOS commands would do...

The command to change the file attributes is Attrib. Type attrib /? in the command prompt to see the options:

    ATTRIB [+ R |-R] [+ A |-HAS] [-S |-S] [-H |-H] [+ I |-I]
    [drive:] [path] [filename] [/S [/ D] [/ L]]

    + Sets an attribute.
    -Clears an attribute.
    R read-only file attribute.
    An attribute of file Archive.
    S system file attribute.
    H hidden file attribute.
I have just indexed file attribute.
    No. X scrub file attribute.
    V integrity attribute.
    [drive:] [path] [filename]
Specifies one or more files for attrib to process.
/S processes matching files in the current folder
    and all subfolders.
    /D so process folders.
/ L work on the attributes of the symbolic link from the
the target of the symbolic link

For example to remove the hidden from all the files attribute in D:\Test and its subfolders would be:

    attrib-h D:\Test\*.*/s

  • Help blackBerry Smartphones! the hidden files/pictures, tried to explore but without success!

I created a few files containing images in my photo camera and selected so that these records be hidden. The images themselves of these hidden folders were always in my folder images in 'media' so I hid each image as well. I have read other suggestions to go explore and then selecting the option "Show hidden" and what I have hidden NOTHING will appear. Hidden folders do not appear, nor the individual hidden images. I've looked everywhere. Help, please! Thank you.

Well, I tried to reproduce what you were doing. For me, it works exactly as it should:

    1. I created a folder on my map of media, called 'test '.
    2. I put a picture in this folder
    3. I hid the image
    4. I then hid the folder
    5. Without 'Show hidden', the folder does not appear
    6. With 'Show hidden', the folder will appear greyed out, and I can bring up its properties and display it
    7. Once the folder is not hidden, I can then navigate inside, then, seeing the photo file greyed, I can also display

So I don't quite know why it does not work in your case... not my not adequately replicate what you did?

  • To use Robocopy to copy files, but you will notice that after the initial backup, it ignores the unchanged files, but I don't want it!

    Hello

I use robocopy in Windows Server 2008 R2 operating system.

    Here #1

I would like to use Robocopy to copy a disc (z) files on an external drive (f) and want to "full backup" every time regardless of whether the files have been modified.

    How do I do that?

I tried to use the command

    Robocopy z:\ketchup f:\ketchup/e

It works very well if there is nothing in this record, but once the initial order has been executed. It will skip all files of unchaged but I want yet it backs up to the top anyway.

    Want to #2

I would like also to add a unique name that includes the date and time I'm it backup (in essense a new backup folder name that contains the date and time).  Hoping to place it under scheduled tasks as soon as I get going.

    Thank you
