Backup up to ReadyNAS for PC

Hello

Want to backup my ReadyNAS Duo to a PC (Win 7 Pro) on the local network.

Using FrontView to set up backup jobs. For the Source, I chose one of the actions on the ReadyNAS.

To the Desitination, I select "distance: Windows/NAS (timestamp). I get the creds host, path and login. Then run Test connection and it still fails ("connection error to the,"). Have tried to let the empty host using an IP instead of computer name, different paths, etc.. Still same problem, unable to connect.

Taking note of the value maybe is this: when I select a part of the House as the Destination, the backup task runs even if it ignores the path, I entered. But it is uselss of course because it's just to save the same data on the same disc in a different folder. But at least I know that the software works!

Any help is VERY appreciated. Have never been able to make it work. Thank you

Hi chuber,

Change the path to PCTestFolder (BN) and re-run the backup.

Kind regards

  • Backup of 204 Readynas for Readynas NV +.

I want to backup my Readynas 204 to my Readynas NV +. The 204 runs firmware version 6.3.5. I can't find a valid combination of the destonation host name and share name when creating the backup task. I use:

    Host: //nas-F1-85-56/

    share: Backup/All

I think I have the right to host name. I can change it (change / / to / for example) and press "Test connection" and receive an "Unable to connect to host" message with error code 707701001. Otherwise, I get "Error connecting to the folder" with 707701020 error code. If I hit the button 'Next', however, the label of the host turns red and stays red.

I confirmed that the share "backup / all are - I can access from my computer Win10.» No user name or password should be required so I the sharing permissions so that anyone can read/write. Specifying the NV + admin login does not solve the problem.

Any ideas out there? I will load the version of the firmware 6.4.1 tonight, by any chance, this corrects the problem. The release notes do not suggest this directly, at least for a backup of Windows/NAS (Timestamp).

    Kind regards

I installed v6.4.1 and changed the name of the host of the ip address. Rsync backup now works correctly.

Can you reverse your actions when you first made the changes, just go through the process and change everything to the original?
Or you could do a System Restore.

How to get files from a backup external hard drive for windows 7 pro. ? I DON'T WANT TO RESTORE WINDOWS 7, JUST MY PHOTOS & DOCUMENTS.    TO THANK THE TAXI 53 DRIVER

    Hello

Thanks for posting your question on the Microsoft community.

Thank you for details on the issue.

You can restore backed up files lost, damaged, or accidentally modified versions. You also to restore files individual, groups of files, or all files that you have saved.

If you are restoring files from a backup that was made on another computer, the files are restored in a folder under the user name that was used to create the backup. If the user names are different, you must navigate to the folder where the files are restored.

I suggest you use the steps in this article and check if it helps.

  • What happened to the ability to manage my favorites and save them as a backup to import later for the same or another PC?

Prior to version 4 of Firefox, I had a function I made much use of available. Management of bookmarks allowed me to save my favorites in a file on the hard drive and use for purposes of backup or transport to another PC.

    What happened to this function?

It's still there, just changed menu item name. Choose "Show all bookmarks" in the bookmarks menu. It opens the same window to 'Manage Boomarks'.

  • Backup on USB fails for lack of space; but it's a blank disk and there is no files on it!

I have improved my NV + v1 (4.1.14) with 4 x 2 TB drives and I met the 4 k block size problem. So I'll try my backup device so that I can factory reset it.

The current size of the volume is 1.3 to, so I took on one of the 2 TB drives to use as a backup via USB. 1.3 TB should fit easily in 2 TB, right?

I added the 2 TB drive to the front USB port and formatted in ext3, it shows very well in stocks and a space free expected.

So I made a backup and the source = task share / dest = USB/Sharename/and he ran.

It works for a few minutes and stops with this error:

Encountered error copying data from the source ==> /USB_HDD_4_1 path / / bla due to lack of disk space. [Job 003]

I look at the USB and it is FULL. Zero byte available. He made a few records, but they are all empty.

    What is going on?

Are there hidden files (.appledouble, etc.)? I ran BlueHarvest on the volume before the backup, and he deleted a bunch of them. But not 2 value of TB.

I use this volume mainly with my Mac... am I missing?

Any help is appreciated! Thank you

OK, I got the multiple partition problem.

When partitioning a disk with Mac disk utility, it creates a partition from FAT32 MASK called EFI which is used for Intel to start. The EFI partition is confusing RAIDiator and leading them to try to use the small EFI partition instead of the large main.

Since I am not start this drive (it's only for backup), it is safe to remove it. You must enable a debug option to see the partition in disk utility. Google search for "EFI Partition delete on mac" to see how to do it.

Also, I used EXTfs for mac by Paragon Software that allows you to create and mount ext3 on your mac partitions. http://www.Paragon-drivers.com/ExtFS-Mac/

Backup operation runs now... If all goes well, it ends with success!

  • Backup iPhone to iTunes for the first time?

    Hello.

My mother-in-law has a new iPhone (6) and want to upgrade its old 4S for this.  She backed it up to iCloud, but not iTunes - it doesn't have a PC / laptop.  The new phone has been restore cloud backup now for nearly 12 hours (despite the "remaining time" not having never been above 55 minutes... it is increased slowly for 1 minute all day!) and the progress bar has slowed to a standstill.  However the thing spinning in the top status bar is still in progress, making me think they fade slowly somewhere...

I have my MBP here, with my own library on it (library of songs k 25, several hundreds of applications, films etc.) and of course my own photo library iCloud etc.  Can I connect the phone, save it and then restore the backup to the new phone that?  Is it possible because iTunes library has nothing to do with the phone I'll have saved?  She'll want to transfer purchases etc. If no good...

    Thank you.

  • the backup of Microsoft Office for Mac to iCloud

I can't save my documents from within Microsoft Office for Mac on my iMac in the iCloud?  Does anyone have a suggestion?    "HE."

iCloud does not offer the ability to save a Mac computer. You can save an iPhone/iPad/iPod Touch to iCloud.

If you have the Apple menu > System Preferences > iCloud > iCloud drive turned on, you should be able to save a document from the desktop to the folder of iCloud drive or drive movement documents previously saved to other folders to iCloud. You can go to Finder preferences > Sidebar (at the top of the preferences window) and put a checkmark in front of iCloud drive in this window that make it easier. Note that save or move the files to the folder of the iCloud drive will keep a copy on your local disk and synchronize in iCloud. It is not the same as having a backup because if you accidentally delete the local copy, the copy on iCloud is also deleted.

  • When I backup it ask me for folppy 3 1/2? I don't have this disk how to make a cd instead of diskette?

in the absence of a floppy drive how to use a cd for this work

You must make a change in the plan and give up older backups fashion and use instead of disk imaging technology.

Step 1 - Install "drive image xml".

step 2 - create a folder on the hard disk called MyBackUP

step 3 - go to make an image of the hard disk and choose the size of the cd for of archive and save them in the folder above th.

step 4 - copy or move the cd size images on cd or on a second HDD for storage until needed.  There are also two files you need to copy on a separate cd.  You should also put a copy of drive image xml on it so that you can reinstall it later.

the later action plan, is that if your system becomes unstable, first use the XP system restore function.

If the above does not work then the next course of action is to run a repair installation or use via your xp cd recovery console.

If the above does not work, then ultimately you will have to reinstall your operating system with your xp cd or run a factory restore if your operating system is preinstalled on your computer.

Subsequently, you can then restore your disk on the hard disk and the newly installed operating system images.

to do this, you can copy the data from the cd disk in a folder that you will recreate called MyBackUp.  then use drive image xml to restore them.

by the way, be aware of what you are backing up/imagery because if your system is unstable or infected first, then do not bother one defective o.s. else you will overwrite your new operating system with a faulty version you pictorial imagery.

    Hello

The CD/DVD drive does work otherwise? You can read and burn discs? CD and
    DVD?

    =============================================================

Step 1: Please do all the same underneath if you did some before as is often total
a process that solves the problem.

Try this - Panel - Device Manager - CD/DVD - double click on the device - driver tab.
Click on update drivers (this will probably do nothing) - RIGHT click ON the drive - uninstall.
RESTART this will refresh the default driver stack. Even if the reader does not appear to continue
    below.

Then, work your way through these - don't forget the drive might be bad, could be a coward
cable or slight corrosion on the contacts (usually for a laptop) and other issues.

Another possibility is that the cables are loose. Remove ALL power, then make sure that the cables in both
ends. Remove and replace, do not just tight. For laptops, you can often clean power and
contacts data with a pencil eraser.

Some DVD players do not use the Windows default drivers so check with the manufacturer of system and
manufacturer of device to see if there is a firmware or drivers for your drive if necessary.

    ===============================

Step 2: You have disc problems as the CD/DVD is actually 4 discs in 1 case (CD & DVD
Burn and CD and DVD read). So it is not unusual for 1 or 2 operational so that other parts
    do it right.

Did you follow the Troubleshooting Guide for the reader who still does not work? There are
the entries in registry that the troubleshooter does not solve and those who "might" be the cause.

Check with your Maker system and a device for the two possible firmware updates and
the correct registry entries for your car.

Here are the keys that I of course are those in question - for the subkeys of the CD/DVD drive
as there will be other subkeys in these keys. Do not forget to ask specific keys involved as well as
    the parameters.

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Enum\IDE

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Hardware Profiles\0001\System\CurrentControlSet\Enum\IDE
