    JFYI
    Discoverer is installed on the same server as the EBS 12i.
    Last week we had problems at the EBS promoted us to change the passwords for applications, SYSADMIN, APPLSYSPUB and even EUL4_US in the system. I wonder which of these changes could have an impact on discoverer. How can I get ebs to recognize the new EUL4_US password?

    Thank you

    Hi Mathias
    So we exclude a question URL field that would have been the case if a second password had worked.

    I looked at your picture of error again and it seems to me that you do not use the Oracle Applications login in the menu drop-down. The screenshot says you used Oracle BI Discoverer while you should use Oracle Applications.

    You can also prepopulate certain information of connection as follows: http://:/discoverer plus? database = ofd1 & we = sysadmin & lm = eul = eul5_us & applications

    If you try this and still have a problem and if you are absolutely certain that you were entering the SYSADMIN password correctly, check the following:

    1. check OPMN. XML and search for the FND_SECURE parameter
    2. make sure that you have a valid BCD file in the location pointed to by the FND_SECURE parameter
    3. check your TNSNAMES file and check the name of the connection and the internal connection information, you can compare that to the parameters in the TNSNAMES file on the Admin of discoverer machine

    Best wishes
    Michael

    Hello

    I want some scripts to backup online / offline for Oracle 11 g on windows without the use of backup tools.
    Also looking for something that we could use to put the database down, backup the data offline files, and then rise again. Scripts need to verify that the database is down cleanly,
    been backed up successfully and was replaced and opened successfully.
    If any of these steps fails, an alert notification should be displayed.

  • Ore.make.Names does not not for Oracle DB connections?

    Hi all

    I tried using ore.make.names (from the OREbase package) while that connected to an Oracle DB today, and it doesn't seem to work (although it works OK under a hive connection).

    I put an example perfectly reproducible here, using Oracle VM BD Lite 4.2.1.

    Any idea?

    Hey Christos,

    Thanks for pointing out the problem with ore.make.names () and spaces.  The current behavior of ore.make.names of store space:

    R > ore.make.names ("col 4")

    [1] "col 4.

    While open source R replaces the space by a period (.):

    R > make.names ("col 4")

    [1] "col.4.

    While R allows spaces to stay in column names after you import a file, they are not easy to handle r after import.

    I logged a bug for ore.make.names () replace a space with a point in a later version.

    The truncated string, however is the expected behavior.  Oracle database allows 30 length of string for variables,

    ore.make.names has the same limit of 30 characters:

    From the file of ore.make.names Rd ():

    Details:

    Creates separate the 'names' argument strings that are more than 30

    bytes long using an iterative algorithm involving the call

    'make.unique (shorten (names, minlength, strict = TRUE))'

    where ' minlength<=>

    R > ore.make.names ("abcdefghijklmnopqrstuvwxyz L_A_S_T C.O.L.U.M.N")

    [1]"L_A_S_TC. O.L.U.M.Nabcdfghjklmn ".

    R > nchar (ore.make.names ("abcdefghijklmnopqrstuvwxyz L_A_S_T C.O.L.U.M.N"))

    [1] 30

  • How to get the DB to Oracle Cloud connection?

    Hello

    I sent my application and the database tables and procedures on Java cloud and the Cloud database matching.

    In the application on the cloud, the pages where the data comes directly from the VO are is filled correctly, but in some pages, I ran DB procedures while I get the DB connection of the using function code:

    Public Sub getDBConnection()

    {

    Connection Conn = null;

    try {}

    InitialContext context = new world;

    Data source dataSource = (DataSource) context.lookup ("< jndiName >");

    Conn = dataSource.getConnection ();

    } catch (NamingException e) {}

    e.printStackTrace ();

    } catch (SQLException e) {}

    e.printStackTrace ();

    }

    }

    But the connection is not putting in place and gives me a java.lang.NullPointerException.

    Anyone know how to create a DB connection from java code on the oracle cloud?

    See this thread for an example.

    Hi gurus,

    I want to connect the user to oracle database with its own IP address of the client. for example, the user has

  • Oracle Discoverer 4i (Portal db - oracle 8i) connectivity with database 11g problem

    Hi all

    We have oracle discoverer 4i with Portal db (oracle 8i).

    Connect to external databases by using links in the portal db db and reports will use the link db to retrieve data from views in external databases.

    External databases, we have been connecting is oracle 10g version and now we have improved these databases to version 11g.

    Now I have a created a new database link to this 11g database and I have created a new EUL in the portal to connect to this database 11g.

    But when I try to create a report using the discoverer of this new EUL after login for the discoverer we get an "Unable to connect to the database" error.

    We all have the privilege of necesscary to the user and the new database link works perfectly well. (when we try to query directly using SQL as database portal using this db link the query works perfectly).

    I'm not sure if it is a compatibility issue in accessing an 11g database since oracle disk 4i.

    Can any advise if this is the case and if there is no work around for this?

    Kind regards

    REDA

    You say that you are having problems with a link of database from 8i to 11 g (pl exact position of 4-digit versions)? If so, expect as database of links between these two versions are not supported. Is there a reason you can't pass the portal of databases of at least 10 g 2?
