Backup Windows Mail e-mail

I use comcast to remotely back up my files on a regular basis.  I want to make sure all my emails get backed up also.  Is there a file that contains all of my Windows Mail e-mail messages (for example, Inbox, sent, contacts, and all my personal files) so that I can restore them in case of crash?

  • Backup Windows Mail .eml files

I have found and saved my files of .eml to C:\Users\Bob\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows Mail\Local folders a few months ago, however, when I try to save it again, I'm not capture my most recent emails. The e-mail messages were all abandoned in the respective records and are 'there' while I'm under Windows Mail, however, a lot of the newer files are NOT in the directory 'Local Folders' hard disk. Guidance on where to find them? Thank you! Bob K.

Have you copied all the files in the folder "Windows Mail" and did you do immediately after as a transmission / reception with Windows Mail closed?  That's what I'd do.

  • Unistall and reinstall Windows Mail.

I bought an internet filter program. When he installed Windows Mail does not work correctly. After having the developers of the software I bought get involved that they seemed to think it was a local problem with my machine. Windows Mail goes back to working properly when I uninstall the program. The software is called Safe Eyes. They suggested I backup Windows Mail, uninstall it and then install the filtering software. After its installation, and then reinstall Windows Mail. I would like to help with this procedure so I don't ruin things. Thank you.

Windows Mail is part of the Vista operating system.
It is not designed to be uninstalled/reinstalled.

  • Unable to find saved emails and error message "content of this message is not found ' in Windows mail

Original title: How can I find backup Windows Mail e-mail files that are now gone?

How to find Windows Mail registered mail files that are now gone? My business is done mainly by e-mail and I save each citation in the e-mail to the client file. When I return to open the mail it says "content of this message is not found." Windows mail. How can I recover these files?

    Hello

You can perform the following methods and check if it solves the problem.

Method 1: Rebuild the Windows Mail message store

This method will help you rebuild the message store. By rebuilding the message store, only the messages that have no errors cannot be loaded and delete messages that contain errors.

To remove the Windows Mail message store file and then rebuild, follow these steps.

    Look for the message store

For Windows Mail, by default, the data is stored in the location C:\Users\\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows Mail
Check if the data is present in this folder. If it is present, you can import the data into Windows mail.

    i. open Windows Mail by clicking Start , all programs, and then click Windows Mail.
II. click on the file menu, point to importand then click Messages.
III. click on Windows mailand then click Next.
IV. make sure import mail from a windows mail store directory is selected, and then click OK.
    v. click Browse, find the folder of windows Messaging (C:\Users\\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows Mail) you copied to this computer and then click on the file once to select it. (Do not open the folder when you select).
VI. click Select a folderand then click Next.
VII. click all folders to import all the folders, or click Selected foldersand select which message folders you want to import and then click Next.
    VIII. click Finish.

    Method 2: Virus scanner

You can download Microsoft Safety scanner, which provides on-demand scan, and remove viruses, spyware and other malicious software. It works with your current antivirus software.

See the link to download Microsoft Safety scanner on the system.

    http://www.Microsoft.com/security/scanner/en-us/default.aspx

Note: The Microsoft Safety Scanner ends 10 days after being downloaded. To restart a scan with the latest definitions of anti-malware, download and run the Microsoft Safety Scanner again.

Warning: The data files that are infected can be cleaned by removing the file completely, which means that there is a risk of data loss.

    Hope the helps of information.

I don't know how to save emails in my Inbox reception, Outbox and contacts

    Hello

There is a good guide on how to backup your Windows Mail emails on the link below.  This works for Vista with Windows Mail and Windows 7 with Windows Live Mail.

    http://www.howtogeek.com/HOWTO/4905/backup-Windows-mail-messages-and-contacts-in-Vista/

Save the file exported in the media of your choice.

To re-import your emails etc, just choose the import option and find the saved folder that you created in the guide above.

  • Backup and restore Windows Mail on Vista

Hello! Need to backup data from Windows Mail (Vista), and then restore it after the operating system has been reinstalled. How to do this. Have searched this forum and Technet, and I guess that's not as simple as I had hoped. Help! My niece needs his laptop yesterday!

You can use File transfer Windows to transfer your e-mail on an external device information.

    See the following article:
    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/928634

You probably want to use method 3 or 4.

    1. Look for the removable media or the network drive that contains the Windows Easy Transfer Wizard files, and then double-click Migwiz.exe to start Windows Easy Transfer.
    2. If you run other programs, you need to close these programs. You can save your work in each program, and then close the programs individually. You can also click Close all in Windows Easy Transfer to close these programs immediately.
    3. Click Next.
    4. Determine and then appropriate removable transfer media click on CD or other removable media, such as a flash drive.
    5. Click on a network drive to save the files and settings to a folder that is located on the removable drive.
    6. Where do you want to save your files, type the path to a folder on the removable drive, and then click Next.
    7. Click everything - all accounts of users, files and settings (recommended) to migrate all files and settings. If you want to determine exactly the files and settings you want to migrate, click only my user account, files, and program settings, or click Customize.
    8. The list that contains the files and settings you want to migrate, and then click Start. To add or remove files or settings from the list, click Customize.
    9. Once Windows Easy Transfer complete migration of files and settings, click Close.
    10. Connect the removable media to the destination computer.
    11. Start Windows Easy Transfer, and then click Next.
    12. Click on continue a transfer in progress.
    13. In where did you copy your files, click on removable media. If the removable media option is unavailable, click network drive, and then click Next.
    14. In locate your files, type the path where you saved the files and settings. You can also click Browse to locate the files and the settings. After you have located the files and settings, click Next.
    15. Select the user on the destination computer names that match the usernames on the source computer. If there is not any user account is created on the destination computer, you may need to create new accounts. To create an account on the local computer, type a user name directly. To create a profile or a domain user, type a user name to the following format: domain\username.
    16. In choose the drives for files on your new computer, select the destination for each drive source drive.
    17. The list that contains the files and settings you want to migrate, and then click Start. To add or remove files or settings from the list, click Customize.
    18. Once Windows Easy Transfer complete migration of files and settings, click Close.

Please let us know if it works for you.

  • Why I can't make backups of my Vista Windows Mail email files?

During the 3 years, when do backups, I just copied my "documents" folder in which I put my Windows Mail email folder. Never had a problem. Recently the file My last Email/Local Folders now refuses to copy. Explorer Windows try to copy it and at first it seems to work but while it starts at about 10 MB/sec it soon drops hyperbolically to zero, but never really gets there so everything hangs up. On 15 September, I made my last successful backup intact but since then, everything I tried failed. At first, I thought that files may not copy, because they are 'read only' files but of course this isn't. The files I copied successfully in my backups in September that all show an attribute "read only".

I'm sure that this occurred shortly after a Windows Vista security 'upgrade', but after being in the security settings and change many of them I have no results.
I recently had to use Internet Explorer for Google chrome and I don't have a gmail account if Microsoft & Google are not cohabiting in my computer. I ran into conflicts between IE and Chrome, especially when you try to print the email and web pages through our wifi HP network printer. Now my wife can not print at all. What is a part of the problem?
Thanks in advance for any ideas.

For the printer part, WinMail uses the print engine that it is uses, adjust if margins and other in Internet Explorer to print in WinMail.

But the inability to copy the files suggest hard disk problems.  Try opening Windows Explorer, right click on the C drive and go to properties. Tools | Check out now and see if it finds problems.  You can also use the attempt to Windows Explorer to access the folders and messages to make sure there is no problem with access (try to copy directories message individually and perhaps you can distinguish a problem).  You can also try compacting and repairing the database of WinMail to ensure that it is not the question, but I doubt that this would be the case.

  • window mail contact restoration of system backup and restore files

I backed up my system on a portable hard drive, he said, he would return to the top of my window vista email contacts and emails, but when I tried to restore themn he wasn't able to find it can help any one?

    Hello

The WindowsMail.MSMessageStore file is the file of database of WinMail. You will not be able to backup and restore that easily. You should back up the registry keys and the entire message store and no not only the database file. The WindowsMail.MSMessageStore file is only the database and does not contain messages. The messages are in the same directory, but under the directories that correspond to message folders in WinMail. Old Windows Mail would be apt file to search for.

  • Import of Outlook Exp 6 in Windows Mail (Vista) mail backup files

I have a mail file Outlook Express 6 backup, I am trying to import into Windows Mail.  I can open the dbx files but not, of course, to open them. I followed faithfully all the import steps, checked to make sure that all the files in the folder are readable (even copied to a new location to check). All the import steps seem to work fine, folders (Inbox), sent, etc. come in the form of files imported as it should-, but with none of the messages!

I read many messages of help about it in various forums. Obviously there is something that I always hurt, but I'm at my wit's end. Any help will be appreciated.
