• Mid-project CS3 to CS5 upgrade cause major problems - please help!

  Hi all

  Despite having been a user since version 6.0, I've never used the forums so I'm new here.

  I have major dillemas following a big update at a critical time and feel completely abandoned by Adobe on this.

  I worked on a major project for more than a year.  Recently, the project requirements has become too expensive for my dual core Pentium running Premiere CS3.  CS3 has never been a program too stable during projects to get to a certain size, but this time frequent accidents were doing impossible things.  Furthermore, when I tried the functions of project management to consolidate and save my work, they would fail ("unknown error"), leaving my precious work extremely vulnerable.

  I contacted Adobe to inquire if I could build a new system first CS5 running and my project to import to CS3 to continue my work (which is now late with the customer).  The wizard of support said yes, there was complete backward compatibility.  You know what's coming...!

  I bought the new system (Pentium i7 860 8 GB of RAM, 1gig Graphics GTX460, striped disk Western Digital Mybook Firewire 800) and CS5 upgrade and has got it all.  I brought my project in CS5 by using the project import/set function in the menu.  My project appeared and I was hoping that everything was fine.  When I tried to read, the problems have become apparent.  Photos are all fine blue vertical lines from the top down, washed out colors and do not play smoothly.  The main monitor cannot read the timeline - it can only display the first image selected.  After a short period of reading, the whole program seems to go in slow motion. not an accident, but an impractical slows down.  The timeline, then stops responding and cannot be read.  When I first open the program, it takes about 5 minutes to load everything - that can't be right surely?

  Basically, it seems that CS5 is unable to manage my project of CS3 all despite the fact that, although large, it should be relatively easy.  It's a SD PAL widescreen project which is at the stage of rough cut.  I have not yet applied classification or something particularly complex (my system CS3 used to have difficulties handling of projects after that I applied Magic Bulllet looks like).  All sequences are in standard DV AVI format and was shot on a XLH1a.  The project also contains an uncompressed AVI file.

  The main thing is that I have spent a small fortune here all this because the old CS3 software was not working properly and I desperately need to finish this project.  Now the money has gone, CS3 is not stable enough to work on, CS5 on a brand new i7 machine work hardly at all, and my neck is on the line with the customer.  The work is sitting in limbo when I should be plug on with it.

  Sorry if this all sounds a bit (Christmas emotional stress?) but I would lovingly welcome all hero/heroine who can come to my rescue.  I'm so disappointed with Adobe right now.

  The blue vertical lines: for the Nvidia graphics card, it's a quality 3D setting that is causing the problem.  Set the parameter to "let the application decide."

  Untie the uncompressed avi and see how works the rest.

  If it is before 11.1.2.3.500, then there will be such issues as pointed out 'Essbase Administration Services (EAS) outline 11.1.2.3.500 to 11.1.2.3.000 empty file Migration Wizard creates (Doc ID 1927334.1).

  Migration of a glimpse through earlier versions is certainly risky and you're only going to be clear if it is rebuilt.

• Backward compatible with CS5.5 CS6?

  I have a bunch of machines, some with CS4, some with CS5.5, editing and I am looking for CS6.

  I now use the demo, but the sequences and even the transcoded files may not be transferable to the PR CS5.5.

  Is there a backwards compatibility at all?

  In fact - you can open the project first Pro CS6 in first Pro CS5.5

  How?

  Open your project file in any text editor and change-> Version = '25' to-> Version = '24' (4th place)

  After that - you can open it.

  Make a copy of your project for backup.

• Anyone else get randomly disconnected backward compatibility games? I'm about to give up the program.

  Whenever I play a games backwards Compatibility (BC) 360 I randomly cut from Xbox Live, but only on the 360 end not the end of the Xbox One (XB1). Here are a few notes for intelligent types:

  -It is not isolated to a game because it happens to me on Left 4 Dead 2, Gears of War 2, Peggle, COD: Black Ops, AND MORE.

  -Coming when I broadcast, coming when I broadcast. (I like to broadcast and this hinders my ability to do)
  -Not my connection because I'm staying on XBL on the dashboard XB1.  In addition, my other devices are connected.
  -Only occur on XB1 games... ever
  -Sometimes when I'm in a group of XB1 and 360.  Occurs when I'm not in a party.

  -My download is between 50-100 Mbps, Upload is between 15-30mbps

  -I'm on a wireless signal, reception of 100%.  Move to a wired connection soon to try this (doubtful).

  -J' forwarded the ports required for XBL according to Support.

  -J' went down the firewall on my router.

  -J' deleted games and reinstalled them.

  -J' deleted my profile player and re-uploaded on XB1 and 360.

  -My NAT type is OPEN.

  -No matter if its on disk or not. I actually bought L4D2 digitally even if I have the drive to try to alleviate the problem

  I'm not there are more things I forgot.  As you can see I have tried almost everything and got no results.  I contacted the support like 5 times and that is why the list is so complete.  It's incredibly frustrating when even people to Xbox support can help me then I'm going to try this as a last ditch.  I'm about to give up compatibility backwards and I have a large catalog of games that I NEVER threw.  Been a member XBL for 11 years in very good condition.

  I hope you guys and girls can help or at least it attracts the attention of young people the tech guys to Xbox.

• Backwards compatibility of the CC Lr Lr 5 for temporary subscription

  I bought Lightroom 5 in November 2014 and I hope temporarily to CC (Lr and Photoshop). This is to make use of the panorama of Lightroom CC and HDR features but also using photoshop to merge images. I only have the demand for these functions to a handful of images, however, and so I'm likely to use the software temporarily for one month subscription.

  My concern is the backwards compatibility of the software, and how my Lightroom 5 software is affected by the CC. Will I be able to use CC with my current library and after use it simply continue with Lr 5 and the new images? CC will be autonomous and does not affect my purchased version?

  LR CC is not available for a monthly subscription.  You purchase a subscription of $120 / year with a plan to pay $ 10 / month, but for all 12 months, not only for one.

  The only way to get a monthly subscription would be to a Single App to the month PS CC subscription for $30 / month.  PS/ACR will be able to do the same HDR and Panos LR, so my suggestion would be to get a subscription in single-app in PS, then make your HDR and Panos and save those 16-bit TIF, then import these objectives into LR 5.

  I have CC on my work computer, that travels with me.  The main computer that I use for series 5 Lightroom to photo editing.  If I have a catalog to export and open it in Lightroom CC - can I open it later with the old version of Lightroom?  (In other words - is it backward compatibility?)

  The return of the files is not necessary for all the file as a JPG, PSD, HTML etc extension here is the universal file format

  However, if you speak the native file as Indesign INDD format, and HAVE Illustrator so yes you can save the backup for CS5 CS6 file, the procedure can vary.

  InDesign:-save the IDML file and the IDMl file is compatible with Indesign CS4

  Illustrator;-fichier--> record, in the "Save as" dialog box choose the version to which you want to downgrade.

  So, it depends more on the file format

  The first thing to try is remove minor corruption by exporting.  If only it does not, there is a pretty good chance you have a corrupt font or there may be a style definition that has corrupted (this may be difficult to diagnose).

  You will need to export to IDML to open in CS4. If you need it in CS3 you will need to open the IDML in CS4 and export to INX. You can open the INX file in CS3.
