Bad display quality PDF - export to AutoCAD

My goal is to effectively publish my drawings of the multi of AutoCAD Map to a single PDF file for e-mailing to my clients who do not have AutoCAD and want to open a PDF file on their device of choice.

The file should look like it will print seen on the screen of the client with any what Viewer PDF (web or desktop) and it must have a sufficient resolution for printing on paper 11 x 17, without loss of quality.

The problem I have is with my Appendix at the end of my output document pages.

The appendix is made from the material data sheets (files to PDF in AutoCAD) and framed by my title block, and some PDF files appear badly on the screen. (Some of them display wrong but fine print, but is not a acceptable deliverable to my customer).

Seems a perfectly good Source PDF for the last page of the manufacturer: http://Unirac.com/wp-content/uploads/BSK-PDF-Manager/6_SM-2703-CERTIFICATION_6.PDF

If you zoom in you can see, it is a raster image, but there must be something not-so-good happening results to look so bad when the source is perfectly readable.

Drawing attention to the last page where the problem lies:

Here is a screenshot of the last page of this file read through the PDF of Google Drive Viewer: http://screencast.com/t/VeMOFeNNYjB

This file was printed in the format PDF by using the command post of AutoCAD LT 2015 on my mac with the latest OS: El Capitan 10.11.4

https://files.Acrobat.com/a/preview/9cd47e59-ded0-470A-ADAC-6aed8cc10338

This file was printed in the format PDF by using the command post from 2014 AutoCAD on my PC for Windows 10

https://files.Acrobat.com/a/preview/c2ad141b-E1BC-4C18-A52A-fbe09537df38

This file is 1/5th the size of that produced by my mac but still as bad the last page displays.

To summarize:

Question 1) 5 x greater PDF export from the Mac version of AutoCAD

Question 2) terribly screen display of some PDF files when PDF raster sources are set in the AutoCAD file.

I won't pretend to know if this is a bug with AutoDesk product or Adobe, so I reported the problem to the two companies.

Adobe: Let me know if there is anything more I can give you to help you determine and solve this problem.

I have downloaded and open the files that you pointed to.

Observations.

(1) none of the questions here are associated with Adobe products. With any component Acrobat PDF files were not created.

(2) the file created from AutoCAD on Mac OS is entirely to 600 dpi color raster Imaging by using ZIP compression, on the other hand, the file created from AutoCAD under Windows uses text and vector where possible with compressed lossy JPEG raster images. This explains the huge difference in size (and ironically quality - the smaller file is better)!

(3) the pages of http://unirac.com/wp-content/uploads/bsk-pdf-manager/6_SM-2703-CERTIFICATION_6.pdf are in fact images JPEG2000 compressed at 150 dpi with no text and no vector. Even if Adobe desktop and mobile software PDF has no problem with raster JPEG2000 images, various third-party viewers are not so robust. The artifacts you see via http://screencast.com/t/VeMOFeNNYjB are likely due to a weak implementation of JPEG2000. JPEG high quality or compression ZIP (Flate) would have eliminated this particular problem!

  • Quality PDF export from InDesign and Photoshop problems

    Hello.

I have problems exporting my InDesign files to PDF and keeping the Res. And it's not only images (I understand on the CIO) is the guy over there too.

I exported as preset high quality printing - this is false. Are there other settings to make sure the PDF export retains the quality of high resolution and clarity?

At the time of high resolution when I export jpeg or eps but not PDF.

I also noticed the same problem when I export to PDF from Photoshop.

I really need to create interactive and high quality print PDF of my InDesign files.

    Please can you advise.

    Thank you

Sounds like it might be that the setting resolution in Acrobat is not corresponding to the screen.

  • Help! PDF export in InDesign displays images in the form of negatives

CS4 press quality PDF export. My images are displayed in the PDF file as negative (like a photo negative). They print as negative, too. I tried to re - link and their replacement.

I have seen this reported a couple of times, usually when a PDF file is displayed using Preview on Mac. How about some details? What format are the images, too?

  • Poor quality directly exported PDF Comp-projects

Quality projects Comp PDF is very bad. When I export a project model directly in PDF format, the PDF file quality is very bad. Is it possible to finalise compositin in Comp CC like this or do I have to always send to Indesign, Illustrator etc. for finalisation?

    Hi jonasv and RyanMovie.

Thank you very much for taking the time to share your comments. For now, Steve is right to recommend that you take your compositions in a desktop application. However, I will pass on this feedback on the team so that they are aware. If I find anything, I'll share with you.

Let me know if you need anything else!

To add to this miserable viewing experience, we cannot even e-mail Adobe to communicate this déclassé experience.  We are forced to complain to others.

Who knows of another pdf viewer application which is better (for viewing - what are the tools when he drove you nuts just to see your documents in Adobe reader?)

Well, finally found.  Go to the edition/preferences/display Page.  Under "Rendering: smooth text", choose "for computer/laptop LCD screens". "  Do not know why the default value is set to 'none', which gives you this mess / hard to read test.

  • Bad image quality of interactive PDF

    Help!

A logo that is placed in InDesign and exported as an interactive PDF does not appear correctly.

The customer says it is damaged on your laptop. Some letters in the logo seem more than others and some seem thicker.

It is a vector file of RGB. I tried, eps, pdf, png, jpeg. I redesigned the letters. I copied and pasted into another document. I reduced the extent of it. I've copied from illustrator directly in Indesign.

I changed the management of image compression, JPEG quality and resolution in the export to interactive PDF settings.

I don't know what else to try.

The customer declares to 200% the logo seems ok in acrobat, but full screen, the problem returns.

    Help, please!

    The version I.

Open the logo and care than I and L are not replaced by a single line. Add one or two anchor points in straight lines.

L and I are often converted in PDF export in simple lines instead of rectangles, because it saves space, but it allows the bolder appearance on screen.

  • Import and update PDF Export Preset

    Hey there again!

I'm now trying to define a "Preset" for the PDF export process... it is based on the "high quality Print" (preset from the Adobe PDF list), and then I want to change the settings of "one or two".

Changing one or two parameters is easy, I've done it already, but given that most of them is already defined by the "high quality Print" Preset, my idea was:

    1. Load the Preset 'high quality '.
    2. And after that, change the required parameters
    3. And then export to PDF, of course!

    How is that possible?

    Thank you very much!!

    Best regards.

    Hello

There are basically two location of pdfExportPresets:

    app folder - "/ c/ProgramData/Adobe/Adobe%20PDF/Settings/presetName.joboptions".

    user folder - "~ / AppData/Roaming/Adobe/Adobe%20PDF/Settings/presetName.joboptions".

You are able to change those 2nd or duplication with those of 1st (copy of the app folder goes to the folder of the user).

So step 1 is to reproduce some app preset at user folder (say, change your name)

and call this copy one be changed by the script.

    To duplicate it using:

    currPreset = app.pdfExportPresets.item("[High Quality Print]").duplicate();
    currPreset.name = "myHResPreset";

After this, you can change the 1st line of your script:

    myPDFExportPreset=app.pdfExportPresets.item("myHResPreset");

    and run your code

  • I have autocad does not when I make a pdf file using autocad 2002 and adobe acrobat XI

I have autocad does not when I make a pdf file using autocad 2002 and adobe acrobat XI

We have adobe acrobat 8, on another system that seems to work correctly, what elsedo we do to get this trial version works properly.

We are able get all been put in place, size, etc, but when the process starts it says "autocad does not and he just turns and never does the real final pdf.»

Any help on this would be appreciated

It's probably a compatibility problem with libraries updated PDF vs you desperately old ACAD that cannot be resolved. In any case, I would consider it one of those things to try to attack the problem on the wrong end. All major CAD software have native PDF export these days and same ACAD had at least since v2006...

  • How to achieve the intense black in PDF export?

InDesign CS5 on Snow Leopard. I have a black to display and output set accurately (not rich black). Color settings are in North America General Purpose 2. Evidence of configuration is set to Document CMYK U.S. Web Coated (SWOP) v2, so that I see on the screen as accurately as possible what it will look like when printed.

An image of large, to most black covers my first page; This is an imported PSD. When I view the image in PhotoShop, it displays as "intense Black" - you know, Black 100% on-screen. But looking into InDesign, it appears a dull gray. It also appears a dull gray when you export to PDF or print.

How to go to the PDF format and print in crisp, perfect, 100% black rich?

If possible, I would like it to appear on my screen about as it will be in the PDF export and the printed page.

    Thank you!

The preference for Rick Black, that's how it shows up only on RGB devices, monitor, or printers that support RGB.

For an intense black for a CMYK profile, you will need to build a new black and which apply to selection in InDesign.

The rich blacks are going to 50Cyan 100BlacK

    at 20 c, 20Y, 20 M, 100 K = 160 (20 + 20 + 20 + 100)

    40, 0, 40, 100 is 180

where equals is the limit of the ink to the paper.

Depending on what paper you're printing on, coated or not coated, and weight, you'd have different limits. 280 is generally good.

For example, you might have an intense Black of C90 M90 Y0 K100 = 280

Please contact your printer what ink should be built and what is your limit of ink.

If you have a text hit out of the black then you probably want to keep C 50 and 100 K, because it would be easier to keep the registry text.

  • Quality of export in After Effects

I use After Effects CS4 and exported as MPEG-4.  The quality of the final film is very poor.  It looks like a bad JPEG quality.  Preview of After Effects, it seems.

I am familiar with the export of quality on the first video.  Is the usual workflow to open the AE in the first projects and use the options there to export?  Or did I miss something in the AE?

  • Doc page PDF export.

When I export a doc page to PDF function stops page index score does not appear to work, for example, when I place the cursor on the page number in the new PDF, the hand symbol copy content page and the page does not open.

That ability is not taken in charge when Pages PDF exports. In fact, there is no usable exported links. A downside when you export to PDF is that supported in Adobe Acrobat features are not supported in no Adobe product of PDFs.

  • [SOLVED] [Firefox [19] How can I get Firefox to display the PDF files?

When I first installed Firefox 19, the PDF Viewer worked so well that I uninstalled Adobe Reader. Today, after an update system, Firefox stopped display local PDF. If I open a PDF file directly from a Web site, the internal PDF Viewer active and the PDF file is displayed correctly. However, if I open a PDF to my hard drive, Firefox just displays a mass of confused characters and the internal PDF Viewer does not work.

Here is a screenshot of the behavior: http://i.imgur.com/5Of0kUH.png

I tried to start in safe mode and the behaviour persisted. I really hope there is a fix for this, because the use of Firefox to view PDF files is really much better my workflow.

    EDIT - SOLUTION IN RESPONSE

    SOLUTION

    1. In the terminal, type: # firefox - ProfileManager
    2. Create a new profile.
    3. Start with the profile said.
    4. Fixed. Internal PDF Viewer now works in a profile.
  • How to get Firefox to display the pdf file in the browser (Win 7, FF 19.0, AA 10.1.6 IE 9)?

After that Firefox updated to version 19, when I tried to view a pdf file, the file appeared in a strange new Viewer. Seemed work OK, but I was concerned (did not know that this is apparently a new feature of 19 FF) and I wanted the viewer Adobe back.

After a few minutes of listening in the FF pdf viewer, a message appears that says something like--this viewer may be displayed not the document correctly. You want to use Adobe Acrobat instead?-I clicked on Yes.

Now, when I click on a link for a pdf file, it will either automatically opens in Adobe Acrobat (windows application, no player in FF) format, or I'll get a dialog box that asks if I want to save the file or use Adobe Acrobat to open it.

    I followed the instructions here:
