Bad resolution on Windows 7 - Satellite P100-203

Hello

Since I installed the new Windows 7 (32 bit) on my Toshiba laptop, I has not yet managed to get a better resolution of the screen then 1024 * 768.
I tread to install the necessary drivers windows 7 for my gforce go 7600 from the Toshiba Web site but that helped me to give me a higher resolution.
It really hurts my eyes.

Is there someone who may have a solution to this irritating problem?
Thanks in advance,

MH01

Hello

The question is whether the Device Manager contains a yellow exclamation point next to the graphics card. If there is no yellow exclamation point, this means that the driver is installed correctly and the lower resolution is not related to the missing driver.

If there is a yellow mark exclamation then this means that you don't l l install the driver correctly.

You can try to install the Toshiba page display driver, but don t, run the exe but cela in Device Manager.
Use the Advanced Setup that allows you to point to the files in the driver downloaded from the driver page.

Does anyone can tell where I can find such a cable? (preferably Netherlands or Belgium) or otherwise an internetstore.

    Hello

You already said that the laptop supports optical S/PDIF audio out line that can be used with headphones.
I have goggled a bit and found a few online shops that offer this cable. I can't believe that you re not able to purchase these cables.
In my opinion any broker who specializes in audio and computer offers these cables.

  • Satellite P100-203 takes very long to start upward

I bought my computer Satellite P100-203 in October 2006, since day 1, it takes a lot of time that the computer is ready with commissioning. WXP MCE is installed. I think that a computer with Intell T2500 dual core 2.0 GHZ/1024 MB should be ready in a minute...

Someone at - it an idea may be what the problem?

    Hello fred,.

Believe me, the laptop with dual core 2.0 GHz CPU doesn't faster start as a laptop with a Pentium 4 2.0 GHz.
The question is. What and how many applications will load at start up?

Many applications making it slow and long start-up procedure. I think that you use Anti virus software. If you disable the startup of these applications at the beginning, the phone should start a lot faster

  • Crackle sound windows on Satellite P100

I have a Satellite P100 and keep problems with the sound, I frequently get crackles of sound effects to Windows, and recently the speakers stopped working for a few moments, then came back. When I tried to turn the volume up I could not access the speaker controls as it said that there is no active device.

Has anyone else had this problem or has a solution. ?

Found an interesting thread about crackling noise on the P100 and as the user TDC , said that the audio driver should be updated.
BUT: Before installing the audio driver updated to at least the BIOS version 2.10 or higher must be installed on the laptop.
Be careful with the update of the BIOS. Choose the good BIOS and the right update procedure

  • Noise of crackling windows on Satellite P100-429

Recently had a problem with no sound at all from speakers who himself fixed in less than an hour also had no noise at some point, when I tried to turn up the volume on the toolbar that I received a msg saying no active device, when I went to the settings of the speakers it says there is no current , speakers there are involved, they are built.
    This prob also corrected himself.

These are isolated probs and have not brought he runs again since.

    I'm alone with these probs?
    Does anyone have a solution?

    Hello

I found very interesting information in this forum.
According to statements of a user forum the crackling will not appear after the BIOS and updated audio driver.
There is a sound driver update (V3.11.0.51) available that address this issue.

Note: Before you install the audio driver updated at least, the BIOS version 2.10 or higher must be installed on the laptop.
But do not forget to use a good BIOS and the correct BIOS update procedure

How to install the Sound Driver (V3.0.51):
    1. download the driver of his Web site to a folder in time.
2 unzip the file in a folder in time.
    3. double-click on the "setup.exe." Shortly after, the window
    4. click on 'OK '.
    5. click on 'OK '. The audio driver is installed

  • Bad screen refresh rate shown under Vista - Satellite P100-429

    Hello

I have a Satellite P100-429. There are three weak, I install Windows Vista Ultimate Edition, but now the highest of screen refresh rate is 60 Hz. I tried to download the latest drivers for the graphics card, but this will not work and the computer also says that the monitor is called generic PNP.

Before Vista has a 100 Hz screen refresh rate and monitor had his screen Toshiba TruBrite WXGA + TFT of own name I tried looking for drivers for the monitor but without success, someone can help me pretty please, I get headaches for the low screen refresh rate.

    Hello

Have you installed the right graphics card driver?
Immediately after installation of Vista, the operating system uses Microsoft's own common graphics driver.
If you want to use additional graphics options, you need to install the compatible graphics card driver.

But I want to clarify something. The LCD or TFT screens give excellent quality and resolution at 60 Hz.
the Refresh on TFT rate simply won't say the same thing about monitors CRT.
Response time, brightness of the Image and the contrast of the Image are more important for a TFT or LCD monitor like the refresh rate.

Performance display and the quality isn't worst if it run on 60 Hz
Therefore, I see no reason to change the refresh rate of 100 Hz

  • Satellite P100: Black screen but I can hear the sound of Windows OS

    Hello

I have a problem on my Satellite p100.
I broke the screen or something!

When I start the computer I press the Start button and the laptop start normal. But the fact is that the computer starts but not the screen.

The screen is not from, but the computer does!
The screen is black, but I've heard say that im in windows beacause of the sound beginning...
    I didn't break the screen,

Can Some1 help me? Please, I beg you!

Maybe you accidentally switched the display on an external monitor?  :|
Have you tried to use the FN + F5 key combination to return the display on the laptop?

In addition, I would recommend linking the external monitor to the laptop to check if something appears on a second external display.

If this does not help with this strange problem I would recommend contacting the ASP in your country. Maybe, display works really bad and a very small part or whole LCD screen needs to be replaced

    Good luck

I mean, are the drivers offered by Toshiba ok for XP as well as for XP x 64?

    Thanks in advance

    Hello

  • Satellite P100 - 347 (PSPA6) and Conexant audio problem in Windows 7 64 bit

He is a [old problem | http://forums.computers.toshiba-europe.com/forums/message.jspa?messageID=175972#175972] which seems to have affected many people.

    Conexant HD Audio (hardware id: HDAUDIO\FUNC_01 & VEN_14F1 & DEV_5047 & SUBSYS_1179FF31 & REV_1000)

There has been no official driver published this work in Windows 7 64 bit. It works fine in 32-bit, windows 7, and using different drivers from other sources + partial + fix can be found.

    Using these drivers:

    [Audio 4.8.0.0 | http://209.167.114.38/support/Download/files_downloads/pspa1c/vista/Audio4.8.0.0.zip]
    [sp35683 | ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp35501-36000/sp35683.exe]

and some of the advice [here | http://laptopforums.toshiba.com/t5/Windows-7/Windows-7-64-bit-drivers-for-P100-P105-Users/m-p/67516], it is possible to get the proper functioning, but * only * when using the S/PDIF (HD) audio output. When the S/PDIF cable is removed the internal speakers make noise for a fraction of a second, then silence.

I tried everything and this issue has been around for months and months, but no perfect solution seems to exist. I was wondering if there is a way to update the drivers of the HD Audio Controller, integrated in Windows 7. Or maybe a hack that allows the internal speakers continue to work (they work for one second!)

Please, any help on this would be greatly appreciated

    Hi Sebastian,.

I think it might be a little difficult to get drivers Windows 7 for old Satellite P100... I checked the Web from Toshiba site and it looks new Satellite P500 also uses a card his Conexant. In your case, I would try this driver, it seems to be a newer version.
