Balancing the vCenters

Hello

Is it possible to balance the load of multiple vCenters?

I worked with vCenter heartbeat, but I'm looking for a solution that can provide an active state of the vCenters of guaranteed horizontal scalability.

Thank you

I'm not aware of such an option/feature. All you can do is multiple vCenter Server to connect to for example of fashion-related assistance. However, this isn't a load balancing, but rather to load distribution.

  • To balance the load or not load balance? ISE and F5 Big IP

My team is currently negotiating to put our two devices of ISE (nodes PSN) behind our F5 load balancing deployment.

Our network is relatively small (5K users) with a small deployment wireless (Cisco 4 controllers with 300 access points). Growth of the network should remain relatively small in the years to come.

We will deploy Dot1X wired, followed by reclamation and the assessment of posture. (BYOD isn't an option).

On the one hand, the characteristics of Big IP could make it easier for us to perform load balancing, maintenance and troubleshooting.

On the other hand, the Big IP adds another layer of complexity in an already complex deployment. We already have the ability to balance the load of the switches themselves. Load balancing for the wireless should not be a problem that our deployment is very small and I expect to stay that way. Given the size of my environment, it seems to be relatively little to gain for the additional efforts and the potential pitfalls.

Someone at - it care to share their honest opinion on this issue?

    Thank you

    Phill

Load balancers are elegant and do their job well when it comes to distribute the load between servers. You already have a then I would use it if you have technical skills to set it up.

That being said, if your team is not 100% comfortable with F5 then you should certainly jump. Instead, you can configure your WLCs to use as a primary and secondary Radius Server node #2 node #1 , then your switches use Node #2 as primary and secondary node #1 .

    I hope this helps!

  • Scan the number of listeners and balancing the result

    Hello

within the analysis of the docs 3 listeners are usually qualified.

But is it accurate to say that with this configuration, only 2 node RAC, you normally an asymmetric cluster and a single node with two connections on the other?

Because if you use Robin DNS, you will get 2/3 of the resolutions at a node (the one who got two of the IPs associated 3 related) and 1/3 to the other.

So in the case of 2 knots, would it be better to have only 2 scan listeners, or define a 4th one finally?

    Thank you

    Gianluca

It is not an asymmetric cluster, scan listeners will only lead the incoming request to the listener node of the instance with a lesser charge.

All headphones scan will have all instances clustered registered with it and therefore every listener know which node the connection request must be sent to balance the load.

Even in the case of a 10-node cluster, 3 listeners scan would be sufficient, it is not necessary to have listener ongoing scan of running on each node to send connections to that node.

  • Balancing the columns with grids of fluid and CSS3 'table-cell '.

I try to balance the height of by-side columns, and I'm happy to use ' display: table-cell "that I've seen work. But I can't make it work with DW flow layout grid. I have an example here: http://leighjackson-co-nz-dev.web4.pbstaging.com/htm/test-2a.htm

I want the right div, color, below the image, to be full height, identical to the div of the text to the left of it. It doesn't seem to work.

    Any suggestions?

Sorry, CSS display: table does not work on the floating divs.   The alignment is done with the width of the cells in the table, divs.

  • Making the best use of space for the quality by balancing the video bitrate and audio settings?

I have a few questions about the first export still / encoding in encore. I am trying to create a dvd single layer, where I maximize overall quality using as much space as possible.  The video is 97 minutes, SD 720 x 480, 29.97 FPS and consists of interviews for the most part, as well as b-roll hd cameras and stills, rare title graphic card.

    1. I can use dynamic link to send the sequence that appears to maximize the space available, however I have heard that using DL is generally frowned upon and I myself cannot tell what settings it uses (for example vbr, 2 pass, etc.). Is my interpretation that DL is not the ideal way to go wrong? If DL is just as good as a separate output, is there a way to know what parameters it uses?

    2. I used a bitrate calculator and tried a Min: 3.5 target: 5.5 Max: 8 audio output PCM and I found myself having a little more than 400 MB of unused space. When someone recommended a Min: 5.5 target: 7 output Max 8.5 the file size is too large with a simple DVD layer. I read that it is recommended to use an exit instead of PCM, if the video is over an hour audio Dolby. My question is is it a best practice to balance needs of flow rates and audio and video? I realize, of course, by using more data PCM is 'better', but it is usually best to go on the road to dolby and have more space to increase your video bitrate? What is the audio difference type that requires a high-end system to discern? Y audio data loss is worth for the benefit of video bitrate higher?

I know it's a lot, just trying to maximize space to get the best possible performance. Thanks for any help/advice you can provide.

    -Nick

As most of my videos are closer to 2 hours usually, I always used Dolby Digital, PCM takes so much space and I prefer to use this space to increase video quality.

Note that by default, if you import a .wav (PCM) file into Encore, it transcode automatically that Dolby, unless you have changed specifically the default settings of transcoding in Encore.

A decent basis for coding rule is 560/minute = bitrate, so 560/97 = 5.77 and I usually just round off a little for menu overhead and margin of safety. This requires using Dolby to 192 k, so I would use 5.6 average bitrate.

  • How to balance the exposure in multiple images?

I will be shooting a series of photos which inludes a grey card in each image. How can I use Lightroom to get the same exposure in each image from the grey card?

    Easier?

White with the eyedropper on the grey card balance.

Move the exposure slider and click on the number to the right. It will turn white.

Place your mouse cursor over the area of the gray card.

Use your up and down arrow keys to adjust the exposure of the gray card in the same percentage value in each image (ie. 50%) read the values of percentage below the histogram.

Easier yet:. Set your camera to the gray card exposure in the first place and then do not do these things.

  • Coldfusin MX 6.1 balance the load and access to the shared folder

I hope someone can help me with this problem.
I have 2 CF servers behind a hardware load balancer and the content is stored on a NAS device via a UNC share. Colfusion seems to access the files OK but every now and then, I get an error 404 who not disappear until I restart the coldfusion services.

I have already disabled the caching and the problem persists.

I'm having the same issue (among others) with CF7 balancing using Windows NLB. Apparently this is a known... bug there is a solution here, but it is not completely satisfactory if you get this on a lot of pages.

  • How to - migrate VM through the vCenters using PowerCLI - bypass the validation of network

    Hello

I'm working on an automation project, which requires that we have a VM of 1 vCenter to another.
Each vCenter is a stand-alone instance, they are not related.

The problem we have is that cmdlets Import-vAPP and export-VAPP are 'too' data validation.

VAPP export works very well, however, our problems are on the part of import-vapp.

Each vCenter uses a distributed switch, so when we run this command, we get the below error

Import-vApp -VMHost $targetEsxhost -Source $importpath -Name $hostname -Datastore $targetDatastore -Location $targetCluster -DiskStorageFormat "THICK" -Force -ErrorAction Stop

Import-TIME: 28/03/2016-09:18:29 Import-TIME host lacked any defined virtual network.

    Online: 8 char: 1

I'm guessing that the import fails because the switches names and IDs are different on the target as on the source vCenter vCenter

We use vCenter 5.1 and 5.5 PowerCLI for execution of our automation tools.

What other options do I import to be successful, somehow bypassing validation of network?

We can reconfigure our VM subsequently, but we want to just that import of fill.

Is there any other cmdlets, that we can use, or go on the road to the API and something like Onyx allows you to spy on the vSphere Client to "make our own import-function"?

All I know, you cannot ignore the validation, but you might take away the network.

What I mean, check out the network configuration and store it outdoors, then try to remove the adapters for virtual machines.

Now you should be able to migrate the virtual computer.

During the migration, restore the vNIC and from the saved data, you have the network configuration.

  • Balancing the source of artificial light behind the temple

    Hi all

Creating an HDR image, I reached this magnificent result which contains, however, an artifact that I want to eliminate.

Looks like it's a source of light behinde the temple, but there is none. I want it to appear completely normal, with the sky changes not at all close to the left and to the right of the temple.

Can what tools I use to achieve this? I tried the dynamism and saturation but am very disappointed with the result... I also available Photoshop so please tell me if that would be better suited for this task.

    Best regards

This is commonly called a halo. You will notice that the effect is also on the horizon.

The common solution is to reduce some of the effects of treatment in the HDR treatment.

  • Move the vCenters SQL Server to different hardware

I have two clusters.  An AMD and another is Intel.  We are trying to remove the blades from AMD, but I get to a point where I must pass the SQL VM that hosts the vCenter DB.

How would I be able to do it from vcenter will be down, because SQL server needs to be powered off to move from AMD to Intel? I guess I have to remove the inventory then just connect to a host of Intel directly and re - add inventory?

    A better way?

.... I guess I have to remove the inventory then just connect to a host of Intel directly and re - add inventory?

This is probably the simplest and fastest approach

  • Consolidate the vCenters

I have two servers vCenter.  I need to consolidate in 1.

The vCenter I want to get rid of:

    vCenter 2.5

Two of the ESX 3.5 hosts in a cluster

    Four configured Resource Pools

    25 virtual machines

Uses a local SQL Express database

The vCenter, I want to keep:

    vCenter 4.0

    An ESX 4.0 host

    11 virtual machines

Uses a remote SQL 2008 database

What is the best way to do it?  Can I just unplug the two hosts of the vCenter I go and then add them to the vCenter I'll keep (and re-create the Resource Pools)?  What I lose by doing this?

You can just cut a vCenter and add on the vCenter remaining hosts.

You must recreate pools of resources, to reinstall the agent HA (use reconfigure for HA) and install a license server on the vCenter 4.0 or use and the external one (for 3.5 guests).

You'll lose old datas 3.5 hosts performance.

  • What load balancing algorithm using the LRT224?

I was wondering if anyone knew what algorithm of load balancing the LRT224 use since I can't find it anywhere and the telephone support line does not.  It is very similar to the RV320 of Cisco that uses Weighted Round Robin, but I don't think that the Linksys uses this algorithm because it includes speeds of bandwidth unlike the cisco that does not work.  and if anyone can also check that this unit doesn't package base rather than load balanced session load balancing.  as much information as possible would be appreciated!

The standard of the LRT load balancing is alternated:

    Example:

    1 TCP connection to website-online WAN1

    2 TCP connection to website2.com-online WAN2

    3 TCP connection to website2.com-online WAN1

    4 TCP connection to website1.com-online WAN2

If you enable the feature (recommended) sticky load balancing load balancing is done on a base per session instead of the base of the connection.

    Example:

    1 TCP connection to website-online WAN1

    2 TCP connection to website2.com-online WAN2

    3 TCP connection to website2.com-online WAN2

    4 TCP connection to website1.com-online WAN1

  • Lack of access to the balance of audio volume control

The balance function is 'available', but now hidden in Windows 7. Is it possible to use a script or macro to quickly access the balance control? W7 the access sequence for me is 1) Windows task bar (click to view)--> Start (button)--> Control Panel (list)--> material & audio (hyperlink)--> system (hyperlink) change sounds--> reading (tab)--> helmet (icon)--> properties (button)--> levels (tab)--> Balance (button)--> press '1' (scroll bar) and the key '2' (scroll bar)!

A previous post, "can not balance sound in Windows 7", addressed to this situation with a label that showed more frustration a question. The response was useless for recommended action reduces the string above: click right volume (icon)--> (list) of sounds--> reading (tab)--> helmet (icon)--> properties (button)--> levels (tab)--> Balance (button)--> press '1' (scroll bar) and the key '2' (scroll bar)!

My comments are: 1) I could not designed access more complicated if I had a degree in software development. 2) what's up with "Key 1" and "key 2"? People have a left ear and right ear. (3) I read that more than 10% of the American population live with hearing loss. The loss is not symmetrical. A balance of ready-access control is an important element.

Please consider to improve this feature.

    Hello

Can you tell us if there is a volume icon in the system tray, if not then please follow these steps below to activate the volume icon in the system tray.

1 right click in the taskbar near the time display and you'll get a context menu.
    2. click on properties.
    3. under the system always icons display, check the volume.
    4. click on apply.

Also note the way the quickest way to change the volume of your computer speakers is to click the speakers button in the notification area of the taskbar
Right-click on the "speaker" icon and select the open volume mixer.

    1. on the speaker, once you get the properties of speaker.
    2. Select the levels tab.
    3. here, depending on the output device, you can goahead and balance the left and right output device.
    4. it's only the easiest to access the balance of volume.

  • Limitation of the load balancing VPN3000

    Dear all,

How many devices can be configured for balancing the load of solutions?

    What is the upper limit?

Can I assume that if configure US 2 devices, the throughput will be be200 MB, flow of four aircraft is 400 MB, etc.?

    Any thoughts?

    Best regards

    Engel

No, no, the traffic is not load balanced between all hubs in the group, that the connections are. For example, when you connect with a VPN client address bundle, concentrators determine what hub is lightly loaded, your connection is then completed and supplemented by this hub. All traffic goes between your client and the hub only, like any normal connection. There is no increase in bandwidth to this connection.

In regard to the number of devices you use, we have tested successfully with 8, but there is no theoretical limit.

  • Load the DMVPN Balance several tunnels

Try to balance 2 DMVPN tunnel to a remote router to our Central Administration site.   The remote router is a 2811 12.4.24 running.  It has two connections DSL and I built two tunnels DMVPN to my seat with each tunnel will a separate router.  I am running EIGRP across the WAN and LAN.   Please see attached drawing.

When I put two routes by default equal and just let EIGRP to balance between router 180.7.250.1 to favour road and very little traffic crosses the 180.7.249.1 road.

The reason why I try it is because this site is in kind of a remote and I can't get a 500KB to the top and 1.5 MB DSL circuit.  So to boost performance a bit I wanted to try running both circuits.

I am open to suggestions or advice on how to get a little more bandwidth of this site.

    Thanks in advance.

EIGRP metric are determined by the delay, bandwidth, reliability and support. You have the same router, the same tunnel interface. All the interfaces involved in eigrp must match exactly the same if you want to balance the load across it. See how composites represent different below. If you can make them match your traffic balance the load.
