Why is it not the spry drop-down list appear in I E?

This is how work horizontal menus. Do you need a vertical menu instead?

  • Java and browser compatibility

I use Windows XP with IE8 (I do not well), Firefox, and Opera installed.

Java is set to notify me of an icon from the taskbar when an update is available, but do not download automatically - I have just updated to the latest version (Java 7 V. 73).

-When I go on ' Start, Java, Check for Updates ", it says I have the latest version.

-When I go to the Java website to check the latest version:

Use of IE-it confirms that I have the latest version

With the help of Opera,-he says that it is impossible to check if Java is installed and enabled

Using Firefox says Out of Date Java Versions were not uninstalled. »

    I checked Add/Remove programs and only 8 V. 73 Java is installed.

1 Why Java confirms I have the latest version, but only the IE 8 browser recognizes?

    2. given that Firefox and Opera cannot "detect", means that it is not operational in the two browsers?

You have several problems, starting with the fact that Windows XP has not been supported since April 2014 and so is severely outdated and vulnerable to attacks from malicious software.  In addition, Windows XP supports only Internet Explorer up to version 8.  IE is now at version 11.  So, you have also an out-of-date and vulnerable browser.

Those comments, there are many who recommend that Java may not be installed on your computer, no matter what operating system or browser, you can have.  See, for example

    http://www.theguardian.com/technology/askjack/2013/Feb/08/Java-remove-ask-Jack-technology

    http://www.PCWorld.com/article/262011/if_you_dont_really_need_java_get_rid_of_it.html

Unfortunately, you may need Java to the functioning of a web site you visit, such as your bank.

Because Java is so frequently attacked and nearly as frequently updated, it is advisable to remove older versions of Java.  You should have the ability to delete old versions when you installed Java SE 8 u73.

    See http://java.com/en/download/faq/remove_olderversions.xml

    Go here: http://java.com/en/download/uninstallapplet.jsp

That's what you should get if you only have the last version:

If there is an older version, you should get a list of those who have been detected and the possibility to uninstall.  Do.  If you don't have Version 8 update 73, but still get the notice that "Out of Date Java Versions were not uninstalled', I suggest you uninstall completely Java Control Panel > Add / Remove Programs, reboot and start again.

As for Firefox, you can check that it uses.  Open Firefox and type about: addons in the address bar and click on Plugins in the left pane.  Scroll down and see which version of the Java plugin is installed:

Opera works similar to Firefox.  See http://help.opera.com/Windows/11.60/en/extensions.html or http://www.tomsguide.com/faq/id-2374762/manage-extensions-opera.html

  • My drop-down menus and bookmarks disappeared. How to make a comeback?

Today, without doing anything to the browser, drop-down menus of Firefox, and my favorites were all gone and I can't understand how to get back them. I still have the icons for the basic tools, like the home page, but all regular pulldowns, which I use frequently, have disappeared. Any ideas?

I already downloaded the latest version of Firefox to see if it worked and it did not. Anyone?

    Hello

Previously, I used Dreamweaver CS6 and the widget in the spry menu bar (horizontal).  I don't see this in Dreamweaver CC 2014.  I'm looking for the Panel to insert (jQuery UI) but do not think that a bar of menus spry equivalent is listed.

Because now the solution seems to use 200% scale setting in Edit > Preferences > experimental features.

There is also a setting to edit > Preferences > Interface > UI font size that expands some of the fonts, although not the menu bar.

After changing a setting, you must restart photoshop to see the changes.

  • Browser compatibility issues: Table wide and glitter animation autoscroll

    Hi guys

I just uploaded a site in BRUTE form, just so that I have an example to show you. I'll probably take it down once I have a solution. I tested it on IE and chrome, the two latest versions (I think)

    The site is: www.jpmediaonline.co.uk

OK, I have 2 questions, both are specific browser

    1. the table in the accommodation section is much wider in IE than chrome. It is intended to be displayed in the width, is it in Chrome.

    2. I use a JSquery to autoscroll and animate between sections. It's perfect on IE, but apparently on chrome Jutters / glitch / flicker... it seems to happen just as the accommodation section is about to pass.

Hope I can get help to these two questions.

    Thank you!

While your DIV class to "hostingtable" has a "width" defined for it, your table in itself is not.

Add a "width" tag to your class 'table1' and set it to your desired width. IE will read the width of the table and show exactly that much.

About the scrolling of the page, I don't see any glitch / twinkle / Jutters. Even if you see it, I suspect something to be with the settings of your video card that Chrome is programmed for. This should not be a cause for concern as a "browser compatibility".

  • bar appearing as a ball instead of the menu bar when you preview of Spry menus

    Hello

This is my first post so I'm sorry if I lack of information

I create a simple site for my family business and I tried to incorporate a bar of menus, so previwed in chrome and firefox but not internet explorer, users can navigate between pages, he has already worked when. I then have to recreate the menu bar to see now it shows only in bullet points and not how it should. can some help becuse a sound really get annoyed me. the site is not powered at the moment but I could upload it if it would help.

    Thank you

    Hi & thanks-

No time for the problem of IE now, but on the page 'bulletpoints', these support files are incorrectly connected to your page or not downloaded to the folder expected.

    (related to your local computer)

    (not published online)

They are connected correctly on IE page except for the ajax file that is linked to your local conputer.

Any link must start with file:///

  • Bar menus and checkboxes

I use a bar of menus with submenus.
Various elements of submenu use the checkboxes.
I deal with these check boxes a lot as a group radio that when it is clicked to true, others are set to FALSE.

Is there a way to tell a specific menu item in a submenu to set the checked false value WHEN the user clicks on another element?

    Thank you guys!

Who did the trick. A combination of efforts, much appreciated.

  • Problems with the horizontal navigation bar Spry in IE

Considering that the page is perfect (at least all I like) implemented in all other browsers, IE converts the spry horizontal navigation bar in vertical position. Not very practical, and I spent day (really) try to find a solution. Even contacted Microsoft here in Norway, but they are their usual me useful (i.e. not very).

A solution is of course to use a flash homepage and tell visitors to get a decent browser (as in NOT IE), but that might be a little off.

Would be best to find a way around the problem.

    Any suggestions or solutions?

    See you soon,.

Spry menus have integrated many hacks for IE.  When you make radical changes of styles of Spry menus without understanding what it does, it is inevitable that something will break somewhere in the chain.

  • How can I disable the "hand-with-a-pen-icon" in the seizure, drop-down menus and check boxes boxes in IE 10?

How can I turn off the hand-with-a-pen-icon that appear in the entries of the form (for example, text boxes, drop-down menus and check boxes) in IE 10? I'm running updated Windows 7, 64-bit desktop with without a touchscreen. I have the Wacom tablet with a pen, but I disabled the handwriting feature in Windows.

And also how to disable query points that appear in the scroll bars in the browser? Sometimes the mark points will blink, then this hand-with-a-pen-icon appears between. It does not appear in other browsers or programs and its was not in IE 9.

-It is very annoying, especially when dealing with checkboxes and drop-down menus, I know never it is checked or not. --

I have not found all the settings for this in IE 10 settings or control panel.

    Same problem here.
I have w7 x 64 office services and tablet and writing are disabled.
However, I see the shit 'hand with a pencil icon' in all the check boxes and drop down menus.
It is not even recognizable on small boxes and is a total bore.
I run my desktop PC with w7 x 64 for over a year and the symbol appeared after I've upgraded to IE10.
I couldn't find an appropriate solution in the links provided in this thread, and I hope that it will be a good solution soon.
To give an idea, I downloaded 2 screenshots on my skydrive
    https://SkyDrive.live.com/?CID=1C240C8A7B1412A2&ID=1C240C8A7B1412A2! 110 #cid = 1C240C8A7B1412A2 & id = 1C240C8A7B1412A2. 110

Meanwhile, I think that I found the real cause.
I had turned off the segue UI fonts during the day even when I updated to IE10.
Strange as appears only in IE10 I assumed it it was due to the update.
As explained in this thread that it is obviously a police problem well.
    http://answers.Microsoft.com/en-us/IE/Forum/IE10-Windows_7/IE10-shows-square-blocks-on-every-dropdown-menu/068079a1-47AB-496a-8358-4391b564aaee
I still have not solved not satisfactory, but at least I now know the cause.

    IT FIXED:
to do my reading sharper, I had turned off cleartype according to http://www.davidjnice.com/articles/windows7_fonts.html
    I'm now setting replace to

"Segoe UI Symbol (TrueType)"="seguisym.ttf" and voila, the handwriting symbol in IE10 is gone again.

  • "Menu bar Spry" expanding box problem.

    Hello

I wonder if anyone knows how to solve a 'expansion bar problem', associated with vertical menus bar spry.

This problem occurs especially in Internet Explorer 10 and 11. All texts and images on the right of the menu spray are projected down to below the lower menu bar.

The page is displayed in Firefox and Google Chrome 100%-125%, but the same thing would happen if I Zoom in more than 125%.

The only potential incompatibility problem by Dreamweaver is the "expand the bar problem.

    Thanks in advance!

    Hello Ben,

Thanks a lot for your suggestions.

It seems that the problem had nothing to do with a "expanding box problem.

  • Alternatives to bar Spry for navigation

I love the bar spry, but when I saw my page in Explorer I get a message saying: "To help protect your security, Internet Explorer has restricted this webpage from running scripts or ActiveX controls that could access your computer", and the submenus drop down do not work.

It is easy for me to simply click on the message and say 'allow content blocked', but I don't want to create an unnecessary barrier to our users. Is there another way to make a navigation bar that will not create this problem in Explorer? Or a way to change the bar spry code to eliminate the problem?

    Thank you!

You can create menus nested with just CSS if you understand it well enough.  I tried to play with it, but it's true, Spry was faster.  This http://www.duoh.com/csstutorials/2levelmenu/index.html guy set up a sample of a horizontal menu of only CSS with the style sheet for the people begin to practice.  What makes Verticle is just a matter of changing some attributes.  It is easy - once you get the hang of it.  =)
