Basic image size problem

Seems I have lost a few basics about the sizes of the image.

When I create a new image, I want image must be made up of centimeters, not pixel, because the pixels do not tell me anything of the physical size of the future picture. So, when I do the new image to 4 x 6 cm, seems that Photoshop does not know is that a cm! So I have to manually "guess" how pixels are there a cm in order to make this cm as real as a 'leader of real life".

I am sure that this problem has been asked several times, but I have not found the exact type. I know that Photoshop does not know how many pixels my LCD has, that's why he asks on pixels per inch or pixels per cm in order to create a picture.

I would have this problem solved somehow, so that when I create a data mm image into a square, Photoshop CS would know the pixels in my monitor and I would not guess pixels...

Basically speaking how to create an image with the "actual size"?

When you create a new file, you can set this specification.

Also, with one trust you open and view > leaders verified, by right click on the rule you can make that adjustment

If, however, you want to set your res file so that it matches the actual size measured with a ruler, follow these instructions:

For the image that will be presented to a cm on your monitor is a cm of the image, you must determine the resolution of your screen. Here's how:

1. open a new file: 500 px of width and depth.

2 see 100% of the size.

3. use a rule. Measure the width of the image to the screen in cm.

4 divide 500 by the width of the screen image.

Result: Resolution of the screen in terms of pixels per cm.

Next:

Define your image at this resolution by going to:

Image > Image size

Enter the size of the Document screen resolution: resolution field

***

Don't forget: This allows you to create a match of sovereign of image and is not designed for sovereign-to-print match because its resolution is probably too low for quality reproduction. It would be wise to make an image of dupe for your rule of corresponding image.

Maybe the Adobe forum is not the best place for it but you are most knowledgeable I know.  I'm using CS5 Extended on Windows 7 64 bit with a printer Epson 7900.  I have always noticed that matched the size of the image of the printer not exactly the size of the image specified in PS despite my setting to the correct screen resolution in preferences.  But I always just thought it was a quirk of PS.  I mean that a printout of 24 inches can be off by 1/2 inch.  But now that I do the gallery wraps size accuracy is important.

So I made a few comments.  The print size of the printer is the size that the PS says it should be in the direction of movement of the print head, but comes short in the direction of travel paper or canvas.  If I flip then the image in PS then it displays 90 degrees differently, the new printhead travel side is what said PS and it should be on the other side is short... even if the short side was the right size, while he was in the direction of travel of the printhead before rotation.

Thus, it seems that the paper feed is turned off.  Except for one thing.  The prints are sharp and I think that if the forward speed was wrong, they would not.  No idea what gives here?  Any help would be appreciated.

I had the same problem only when printing on canvas media. I calculated that multiplying by 1,009 would get me the right result. So I need a 60cm print I would be implemented as 60,54 cm (60x1.009). To calculate your multiple factorial trial (desired print size) / (size of the physical results), which is in my example 60/59.45=1.009.

.. .or in your example 24/23.5=1.02

so if you want a print of 24 set in up in Photoshop as in 24.48

I use this as a workaround, so the question is still out there if anyone knows why this is the case!

  • the image size problems

I have the same size and resolution of images. They look the same size in Photoshop. However, when I "set" in InDesign, one is the size it should be and the other is not (it becomes smaller).

In addition, what is happening again by another image. I'm registering as the size and the resolution I want. Place it in Illustrator, leaders show, it's always the same size. Put it in InDesign, however, causes to become smaller.

  • Resizing of Image CS6 problems

I tried to resize these images, I bought on shutterstock for a book cover, and every time that I go to image > image size and put in smaller dimensions, it is resized my canvas together and not only the image! Can someone help me? This seems like an easy solution, but for some reason that I can't understand why it is not just resize my image. I tried Ctrl T and then enter the corner while the change of outfit and that will work, but my problem is when I export as .psd file and then place it in an Indesign file, the photos are all pixelated and blurry.

You get a better understanding of basic Digital Image Processing and how Photoshop works.  Photoshop is quite complex and all operations are not intuitive.  Photoshop has to be learned and a huge learning curve, you need to understand the basics. Power of Photoshop is in layers and there are several types.  Tool generally work on a single layer, but the size of the Image is an exception, it works on all layers in a document.

Image resizing is done in two ways, and is controlled by the resample checkbox.  When the checkbox is unchecked is not that a single Pixel will be changed . The picture is adjusted simply by changing the value of resolution of images.  The size of the image is change by changing the pixel size images will be printed. More you pixels the image will print the image will become soft, but if you use 1 foot x 1 foot pixels, you may be able to see the image 100 yards away on a billboard.  When the same image printed with "1/300 of 1/300" 90 000 pixels per square inch would be a simple point seen 100 yards away.   Scalability and the image by changing the Image resolution doe not change the proportions of images or effect the image quality.

The other dimensions of the part resizes using resampling (interpolation).   When interpolate you an image you always lose image quality.   Not a single pixel you have for your image will be exist at the end of the process of interpolation.  You will have a whole new image. Celles‑CI are calculated by interpolation of pixels you currently for you image.  You will have more pixels or fewer pixels you had before the process of interpolation.  If you have less interpolation process by here a few details that you had prior to interpolation.  If you have more pixels the details of the created process interpolation for your image you do not capture the details, maybe. You can also change the proportions of the Image in the process will distort the image well.

There are times to interpolate.  Images large high-resolution camera has reduced in the count of pixels to fit in the Web Pages for screens are not able to change the size in pixels. They display the image to their fixed resolution, they cannot display an image in the images resolution setting.

If you want to view print clogs and personal to see the details of the image, you need to print at a high resolution and the need for the number of pixels to print the image to the size you want.  If the count of pixels you in deca interpolation upward in size can improve the print quality.

How much image quality is lost by interpolation has a lot to do with how changing the grid size is.  If you through way too you some detailed left you create too many details, you have a soft blur.

Convert your Image layer to a smart object layer and change just the scale layer live free transform and trim add a layer mask. Smart object layer pixel may not be actually interpolated just processing the composite view of dynamic object layer be changed.  In this way, you can change the transformation as several times if necessary and you worry about loss of image quality accumulates for the image of the dynamic object is still not turned the last transformation interpolation.

  • The image size is reduced to export

    Hello

I have a problem with lightroom 5. When I export images, the image size has been reduced. This error is new, an image which i does there is half an hour was created in the full size, when I export now, his is reduced by half (orginal: 5184 x 3456, jpg. 1707 x 2560). I have not changed any settings. Does anyone know, what to do?

    Please excuse my English basic

    Greetings

    Robert

    export.JPG

The size of the results is not exactly half, nearby.  Half would be 1728 x 2592 and yours is 1707 x 2560.

Is the problem that you are original are offline and you export from previews smart?   You say Original under the histogram?

Check the dimensions of the photo in Loupe by pressing the i (eye) button until you see the dimensions.  Having only a glimpse smart does not change dimensions.

  • In Fireworks/Dreamweaver image alignment problem

    Hello!

For my webbie, I made an image of 'big' using Photoshop and brought in Fireworks (I use CS4 programs btw). I slit to the top of the image based on the table, I wanted to, and each section has exported as .png files (it should be png for various reasons). My image size is 600px by 800px w h.

So, I create a table in Dreamweaver and in each cell, I insert the .png files.

    Now, my problem is that

some cells are not aligned correctly (in two places) and eventually shifing the whole line on so it extends.

You can see this problem on the screenshots of two I have:

    http://i993.Photobucket.com/albums/AF60/CrescentChi/Picture2.PNG

    and

    http://i993.Photobucket.com/albums/AF60/CrescentChi/picture1.PNG

Now, I know that the logical thing is to check that each row adds up to 800px.

I already did and here are the steps for each cell:
    For line 2, I: 341, 130 and 329.
    For line 4, I: 166, 93, 93, 96, 93, 95 and 164.

And as you can see, these add up to 800.

I just end up with a sort of space between my cells...

the pictures I have provided shows that the range of property is when I click a cell or one of the spaces between cells.

Do you know what I'm doing wrong?

Thanks for your time to research and help! < 3

Again, this isn't a valid HTML document. Your page is running in Quirks Mode, which means that browsers do not know how to make.   Where did you get this code?  She is certainly not DW.

In DW, tap file > New > Page > basic HTML

Switch to code view.  Copy & paste your code from table into the new document, and save it as a file test.html.

  • CC 2015.5 settings dialog Print - Preview Image size incorrect

I just upgraded to PSCC PSCS5 and the last installed update.

When I was using PSCS5 I always had problems printing and have not used PS for printing since I Lightroom, which does a MUCH better job of handling the print job.

I try to print a picture on paper photo 4 x 6 on a new Epson HC-P400 (the successor of the R1900 and R2000).  The Photoshop print settings dialog box, with the preview of the image, seems to show that it will print a tiny part in the middle of the complete picture, even if all the settings are set to adjust the image to the size of the paper.

I'm afraid to try impression because this same issue has been a problem 5 or 6 years when I used PSCS5, and he would try to print the entire image, spray of ink everywhere inside the printer.

How can I get PSCC to correct preview and print the image to the appropriate size?

It is not the size of the image, it's the size of the file. The file size is in megabytes or kilobytes. The image size is in pixels, the width and height.

The size of the file and the size of the image should not be confused.

It didn't tell you something on the other.

A reduced file size does not necessarily indicate quality problems.

A reduced file size may be normal, or it may be a result of choose you the wrong choices in the dialog box export, however, Lightroom gives you what you asked for.

Please show us a screenshot of your export settings, in particular the file sizing section.

How can I get an impression of correct image size? Why my impression does not match the exact size I selected in the image size box, even when I turned off the automatic setting of the proportions?  Example, I select a frame size of 10.8 x 8.4 inches and my printer prints an image 10 x 7.25. It wasn't a problem before installing Photoshop CC 2015.

    Hi edwards61437238,

Have you tried to print from other applications outside of Photoshop and see if you get the correct impression.

And also you have selected the right Type of paper in the printer configuration?

  • Export the LR5 Image size

I used LR a good amount and you have not run into this problem before.trying to export images for use in Wordpress (resolution 1620 x 720) and that I put the 'image size' parameters as 1620 x 720 and 'dimension', 'pixels' and 'resolution 300', she continues to their output to 960 x 720.

The original file size is 3264 x 2448 in JPEG format.

    Also, I use Lightroom 5.7.

Any thoughts on what keeps me out in my size?

Thanks in advance for your help.

    Best,
    Glenn K.

You first need to crop the image to a lengthening of 1620 x 720 (or equivalently of 9 x 4), and then when you export with the 1620 x 720 size settings, you will get what you want.

I'm trying to reduce the file size of a jpeg file, but the dialog box under image > image size reflects a much smaller that the file is. I saved the image after resampling and simplistic image, the pip size reduced to 72 and lowered the low quality only to see the minimum file size reduction. Why the dialog box in photoshop gives me a different file size than my computer and how do I solve this problem? Thank you!

The Image Size dialog box dialog box shows the uncompressed size.

Your operating system (Explorer/Finder) shows the size compressed. (size on the disk)

If you use save for Web, you can see the compressed size, but also an overview.

  • Different algorithm when changing the size in the dialog vs tool crop Image size?

In Photoshop CC 2014, I would look to change the size of the image and increase the DPI of 180 to 300.  If I open the dialog "Image size", using CTRL-I, I can set the resolution to 300 dpi, change the width and height, if I want, and I can choose the resampling to use, automatic algorithm, preserve the details, etc...

If I'm resizing an image for printing to a specific dimension, say a poster 24 x 36, I find much easier to just go in the crop tool, select 24 inches by 36 inches and change the px / 300 so I can see what size I need and select the culture I want for the image. I don't see any option for the algorithm to use well, so someone can tell me what algorithm it uses?  Is it possible to specify?  Can I use the Image Size dialog box to increase the DPI first before cropping?

Basically, what is the best method to use to get the best image quality when you try to resize a photo for a large physical size and increase the DPI at the same time?

    Thank you in advance.

I suspect the preferences > General > parameter Interpolation of the Image will be used.
