• Real-time application does not work; source code works very well

  The short version is I'm programming a cRIO and apparently the RT code isn't running after you deploy, and I can't understand why. It is further complicated as I do all this remote and I don't have direct access to the unit since I am 500 miles away. I work through a couple of other guys who know some LabVIEW, but neither is working on the site so that they explicitly trip there whenever I have a bright idea.

  I was there a few weeks ago. During this time, I created a code simple cRIO, since I'm new to the cRIO, allowing the user to move a control and change a chart. It worked fine, but I must stress that it did not have a FPGA component. After that, I worked on the actual code, which reads some sensors, displays the results on a user interface and stores the results. Did FPGA. I used it in the LabVIEW environment and it worked fine, but I ran out of time before I could finish a release build and deploy the RT as a compiled application. I sent them the version later, my contact deployed but had the network stream errors during execution of the user interface.

  After hours to address network problems and sending over debug versions, I tried to create a log on RT level so I could see what was going on. The journal is not yet open, even if it is the first command in the code. I have pores through the forums and found http://forums.ni.com/t5/LabVIEW/cRIO-Troubleshooting-creation-and-deployment-of-startup/td-p/1956475... which took a new direction.

  I had my contact use the RT debug console and when it pulls up to the front of the RT, it shows an arrow broken at delivery. He clicked and nothing happens - no work, no list of bugs. If he shoots to the top of the list of bugs manually, it is empty. Again, the RT works very well if you run it through LabVIEW and not as an application compiled in real-time. He also noticed that the open FPGA VI was grey on the block diagram. Are no other icons.

  If the problem seems to be that the compiled application of RT becomes some kind of error, but do not tell me what it is, and it seems to be related to the opening of the FPGA. I recompiled the FPGA and RT. I recompile the RT himself, but not the FPGA, because this would take hours. It is download everything properly for the cRIO. The RT is set to run automatically. It is restarted the cRIO whenever he deploys the RT. They have LabVIEW on a computer, but it doesn't have the correct drivers to run the code of the environment of LV. I am to resist have them install the dirvers because downloading big files is complicated due to the restrictions of security as well as a lousy connection at a remote site.   The last thing I'm getting is that I sent her instructions for how to build a source distribution of the project that I sent and try to deploy on the cRIO. Even if it works, I'm not sure that this is an acceptable solution, because I assume running VI, rather than the EXE is slower, and they need to speed on this project.

  Simply, I don't know where to go from here. I probably need to get direct access to the cRIO and I might be able to convince them to ship to me so I can understand this point, but I don't know where I got same departure other than the Voodoo debugging standard of "trying stuff randomly until something works". I am open to suggestions, if someone managed to solve this before.

  Code snippet of the first part of the project is fixed, although I don't know how much what good it will do. I am really confused, and the customer is frustrated with how much budget is going to solve this problem.

  I have an application on said device "OldApplication", and it works fine. I've done some chnages in the same source code and also changed the name of the application to different say "NewApplication". Now both applications are present on the device. "OldApplication" works fine but when I try to open ' NewApplication "it hangs on the splash screen. I checked the event logs and got the trace of the exception uncaught,

  How is it a generation of application relates to another application? NewApplications resource files is in conflict with the OldApplication resource files are same in both applications?

  "NewApplication" works fine if I uninstall 'OldApplication '. In fact, I want two applications to work very well.

  Problem solved!

  When I rename all localization resources, java class files resource was not updated bundle id. It was referring old bundle id file.

  So I create new files resource and copied the old content file.

  Now, the two applications work correctly.

• Source code / application of fiction

  This tool is fantastic and saves me a lot of time, helping us find some interesting bugs (as why 'delete myarr.pop ()' was seen such a strange side effect when the table contained channels...).

  I'm trying to get my hands on the source code for this but my clients cannot connect SVN, I tried a lot of different configurations (work, home connections and mobile) network and HTTP connections both SVN, so I think the question is about the end of Adobe/SoureForge. Can anyone check/fix this?

  The reason for wanting the source is to add a minor change the viewer Tag / Tag Information out. Currently I'm working on what the function is defined at offset 0x348B2 of my SWF file. I see in the hex editor, but it is difficult to establish what is the name of this function: the class is defined in offset DoInitActions 200492 and length 24355 i.e. a large class.

  My hope is to add offsets in each row in the DoInitActions 'Information Tag' Panel, so e.g. instead of:

  A new version of SWF investigator came out Friday (version 0.6.2) and I will update the repository of open source in the next day or two.  When the update is finished, I'll reply to this topic so that you know to pull down the latest version of the source code.

  For SVN access, I used TortoiseSVN on Windows that is supported by SourceForge: http://sourceforge.net/apps/trac/sourceforge/wiki/TortoiseSVN%20instructions

  The logic for your feature request already exists in investigator SWF but it is currently made in comment. For the next version, I can work on enabling it. If you want to play with the feature in the interval, then the code is in SWFInvestigator/src/decompiler/tools/Disassembler.as.Within this file, there is a function called, 'start '. In this function, there is an if block that checks the "showOffset. You will need to uncomment the out.print () statement in the if-block showOffset. You can set showOffset to true just before the if statement. Recompile the application and it will start to display the information you want.

  I work with an SMU NI PXI-4130. There is a front panel soft exe called the "NOR-DCPower Soft Front Panel" that can be used to control the instrument. I was wondering if there is a version of LabVIEW source code for this driver?

  as much as I know there is no LV source code provided for the Soft Front Panel. But there are a few examples of LV, which will be close to the characteristics of the SFP. So I suggest to you to dig in the examples you find in the Finder of the example.

• How to release the source code (only) for first level VI?

  I develop an add-on for an application that I have. The demand is large (more than 1,500 VI) and the screws are set up to compile with for most of the default settings (there is a first level VI, some with visible front, most of them are not visible).

  The customer wants that source code for the work that I do, and he will use the many existing Subvi. The addon itself will be a Subvi (I have a Main.vi that basically opens 'front' and it is a new screen). The sub - VI existing basically make data collection and treatment, and the new code will perform additional processing and have a nice GUI for existing code. The customer wants the source so that they can make changes as needed.

  Is there an easy way to simply provide the source for the first level VI? Basically, I want to give them M.vi, where M.vi name n.vi, o.vi... etc, but o - z.vi should be non-free. In addition, M.vi is called by Main.vi, which opens A screens - M.vi

  One option is to copy the entire application, then open each sub - VI and save it without Source Code. But with so many files, this seems like a bad idea. So, I also maintain two applications.

  Good ideas out there? It seems if easy in other languages (using object files) it looks like there should be a solution here I don't see... Thank you!

  I opened my first level VI, saving Options with-> apply the password (or remove diagrams) and then give it to them. I also provide a normal backup of their VI, with source.

• The easier way to distribute to run in a simulator without including the source code?

  I have a client who is not a device to test my application, but want to test it in a simulator in Eclipse. What is the best way for me to offer something easy to install without giving up all my source code (before I was paid for it).

  I have, for customers who do not have any BlackBerry installed, zipped high back full Simulator that contains my request.  The user just need to "unzip" the directory to a known location, and then click the *.bat file in the directory to launch the Simulator.  My cod being already in the device, this means that there is no installation required.  In addition, you can preconfigure it, then zip - up the directory, so the user can even have your icon in the Favorites or on the home screen.

  This assumes that you have Java installed.  And the directory is not small.

  11 of RoboHelp, integrated with Team Foundation Server and Visual Studio 2010 running.

  When two colleagues recently "received" the latest files from Source code control project, they also got the elements that have been removed or deleted. For example, I had deleted all the tags of conditional compilation of my project, but their version included always build tags. Finally, thanks in part to an old post from Peter Grainge, we realized that the PSS in Source code control contains a lot of this old information. We have removed the PSS and order check into Source control. Problem solved. No conditional build tags or unwanted Source unique Layouts, etc. (I think the PSS got archived by our release engineer when he was trying to solve another problem. There are two years it has been not been archived.)

  I vaguely remember something read somewhere once in checking is not some files in RoboHelp project in source control management. So far, I have not found such information in RoboHelp help or online.

  Anyone know where I can find a list of RoboHelp HTML project management files, such as the PSS file, which should never be checked into Source code control?

• Source code toolkit

  In February, Richard Bair mentioned in a post that the source code of the Toolbox would become available (http://fxexperience.com/2012/02/a-short-tour-through-javafx-ui-common/). Is that still the case, and when will it be available?
  Maybe if I find the time to play with it, I could experiment with it to see if a WebGL implementation would be difficult?
  This would make possible scenario to create real-world applications in a modern browser where the DOM is not necessary. One of the scenarios would be GWT and run all the code of java on the client (actually a heavy client compiled in javascript). Or have a version (like jsf) server-side but with only the rendering on the client side (thin client). The client lightweight websockets can be used to send commands to render the server to the client (on business networks latency should not be a problem too). I don't know if it's a good idea or someone else is already busy with her.

  I started (and in fact 2 years we have prototyped) the idea of using the dom / svg / canvas / webgl to render on the client FX, as no native window was necessary. It's something I'm very interested for reasons of safety (long story), and also for the user experience reasons (more like a real web application). However, it still requires a plugin because it requires a JVM.

  Using GWT works around the problem of the FMV - sort of. You don't always have all of the JRE available, and some semantic case corner is not the same. And GWT can produce large files of JS. But it gets you more or less here.

  The application running on the server and sending commands draw down via web shots is another very interesting use cases, in large measure because this action solves the problem of large file GWT. However it will not support the offline sort, shape, or form, so probably it is not really useful in the delivery of web sites to mobile with intermittent connectivity devices (or data caps!).

  IF ONLY THE WEB HAD BYTE CODES! We could then bring Java to something compatible semantically rather than JS and then use the browser for everything (networking, graphics, etc.). In other words, treat it as a BONE more some launcher within various operating systems. Really, I think it's the best account approach to all needs and tradeoffs, but GWT is now the closest, we have this idea.

  In any case, I hope that we can give more information about OS soon enough. If you were very intrepid, you may decompile the sources and provide your own implementation of glass and pipeline Prism - but I don't know if that goes against any terms of use or anything like that (no idea). And it would really gutsy and courageous and likely to break horribly in the coming months, because we are about to refactor the implementation significantly.
