Batch file to download Microsoft security essentials by day

Hello

I am an employee of software. I need to download Microsoft Security Essentials every day to connect to my VPN client.

It takes about an hour to get the download (about 80 MB) and installed.
I want to know is there a program available batch file that runs daily to achieve so that it installs at the time where I'm going to the office.
Waiting for the answer as soon as possible.
Thanks in advance
Jennifer

  • Download Microsoft Security Essentials for another computer

I'm trying to fix a friends computer, but the internet is now down.  However, there is no anti-virus installed.  I want to download Microsoft Security Essentials on a USB key so that I can install it on his computer.

The problem is that I have Windows 8.1 and whenever I go to the page to download MSE for XP, it shows me only the options for Windows 8.1, which does not use that.
How can I download MSE for XP to my computer Windows 8.1?

I have no win 8.1 to see what is happening, but go here, scroll down to 'English' and use the drop-down list on the right to get the XP version: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/security-essentials-all-versions

I reformatted my HD for windows svc pack 3 and tried to download Microsoft security essentials. Rec'd a msg that I need to activate my windows reinstallation, but my computer does not accept my original product key of my lable on the computer.  suggestions how to proceed?

I moved your post on the forum to activate XP because this isn't a question of MSE.

The label on your PC is an OEM version of the operating system. You must use an OEM installation CD or the key will not work. If you have used this PC's drive, the key should work and you may have mistyped the key.

  • Firewall: I just downloaded Microsoft Security Essentials. Now, I get my Firewall is not on Windows messages.

I just downloaded Microsoft Security Essentials. Now, I get my Firewall is not on Windows messages.

Question 1: What is Microsoft Security Essentials has a firewall? If so, then I know that I don't need the Windows Firewall.

Question 2: if not, then I have another problem. I tried to activate Windows Firewall and got a message saying that the Firewall Service cannot be turned on. Why do I get this message?

    Thanks for your help.

    Lynn

Microsoft Security Essentials NOT came with the firewall, you can use the Windows Firewall in your firewall. You must use the Windows Firewall.

For the error on the Windows Firewall, take a look on:

In this article, you may need to change a registry value, very careful when you do this. I suggest to backup registry before trying to solve.

  • installed Windows 7. Rid of Kaspersky and downloaded Microsoft Security Essentials. Good choice? And do I need anything else?

Just installed Windows 7.  Rid of Kaspersky and downloaded Microsoft Security Essentials.  Good choice?  And do I need anything else?

Kaspersky is a great AV program But for a free option, MSE is also very good. Nothing will catch 100% of things, but MSE is one of the few that do a great job!

You may download Malwarebytes and run the free version, make a weekly scan. These two together can usually keep your system very clean and safe.
But do not forget also to navigate safely. Do not download random programs or open attachments that aren't expected, etc...

  • Impossible to download Microsoft Security Essentials

I tried to download updates for Microsoft Security Essentials and get the message "download virus confined and was eliminated. Also tried to delete the program and re-enstall, but could not remove. Then tried to download a new Microsoft Security Essentials and again got message "contains viruses has been removed.

The program worked fine several weeks ago!

Your PC is infected with the new variant of Sirefef AKA Zero access.

Suggest you use HitmanPro Kickstart, which should remove this malware and fix changes made to the computer by the malware: http://www.surfright.nl/en/kickstart , you must use an uninfected computer to download it to a flash drive and then follow the specific directions on how to run the program on the infected computer.  Hitman Pro Kickstart is available as a 30 day trial version.

If you win 8 and defender, he is basically Microsoft Security Essentials.  It uses the same technology and you can not run both.

  • Why am I not able to download microsoft security essentials for my Surface RT

Downloads of microsoft security essentials, but am told that my device does not accept this app

You can install apps from the store on SurfaceRT, so any software that you are trying to download from the internet or USB does not work.

Microsoft built aspects of Security Essentials in Windows RT, so there is no need to download the software.  Every day, I receive an update of the Defender through Windows Update definitions.

Help, please... I'M RUNNING WITHOUT PROTECTION.

Anyway Panda should be uninstalled before moving to 10 then reinstalled after,

Personally, I'd skip any upgrade if you really count on a stable system in which 10 is no where near stable like 7

Most of the time victory-10 requires a facility clean, just to be in a stable way

This kind of stability will be lost soon after loading the programs...

  • is to have sufficient protection so much as my one and only security software Microsoft Security Essentials

l download Microsoft Security Essentials for my windows 7 but later unintentionally downloaded McAfee Security scan plus.

is there a conflict? should I just uninstall it, therefore less heavy for my pc?
    Thanks in advance

Don't know why this link does not work... McAfee must have fired or their FAQ is under review.

The Development should work... and you can uninstall/remove the application after that you are through using it.

Here are a few suggestions of Stephen Boots, moderator of the MSE Forum about fake antivirus programs and prevention measures General malware:

Unfortunately, this type of malware attacks are difficult to follow because they fool you by letting them install. They usually come to an infected web site and usually an advertisement. You get a pop up of infection and click on it to close the window pop up that allows you to install infection.  They can also be provided in a "drive-by" mode without any action required by the user due to the system being unpatched, any security software is running.

When you encounter one of these fake virus pop - up during navigation, immediately do the following:

-Do not touch any window of browser to close or navigate away.
-Immediately, press Ctrl-Shift-Esc and bring up the Task Manager and end by force all instances of iexplore.exe, if you use Internet Explorer, or the executable for the browser you are using.
    -or-
-Go to start/stop and reboot the PC without touching the browser windows.
-If you used the Task Manager to close the browser instances, restart the machine.
-Then go in the Internet/Panel control Options and delete all temporary Internet files and cookies. If you use another browser, open the browser settings to do the same - to delete the local cached files and cookies.
-Perform a full scan with your anti-malware program.

The steps above should prevent infection taking root.

In addition to using an anti-malware program, the following recommendations will help to protect the PC from infection:

S ' ensure that the Windows Firewall is enabled.

S ' ensure that all critical updates or important, including service packs for the operating system and programs are installed from Microsoft Update (Windows Update).

-Make sure that Internet Explorer is version 8 or higher and put up-to-date with all the patches.

-In Internet Explorer 8 or 9, use the SmartScreen filter.

-Make sure that the Internet IE security settings are at least put to fire medium-high (default).

-Turn on the pop-up blocker in Internet Explorer.

-On Vista and Windows 7 make sure that thatUser Account Control (UAC) and doesn't work with elevated privileges.

-Make sure that automatic updates of Windows are set to notify at least, but the preferred setting is to download and install automatically. If you update manually, be sure to update as soon as possible after being informed of updates available.

-Make sure that installed applications, including Adobe Acrobat, Adobe Flash and Java are at their latest versions. Many vendors are regularly updated and fixes security vulnerabilities.

-Never click through links from unknown sources and be careful, even if they are from a "reliable".

-Do not open attachments in unsolicited e-mail.

    Good luck...

  • Take off a laptop M4700 Win 7 of trend and put Microsoft Security Essentials on the results in a freeze during startup

I have a laptop Dell Precision M4700 which came with Win 7 x 64 final. He also provided Trend AV software. When I try to remove the trend, it seems to have problems, but after a reboot, it seems to be off the system. Then, I try to install MSE which seems fine and can even update and run a scan. However, the first time that I reboot after installation, the system hangs on "Starting Windows" screen I reinstalled but unfortunately the recorded windows also includes the trend s/w and it shows the same problem.

I still have an old Latitude D830 that I have upgraded to Win 7 x 64 Ultimate. It works fine MSE. He had no preloaded trend and drivers are a little different due to different materials,

    Any ideas?

    Hi hajk,.

It could be a possibility that the Trend antivirus software has not been uninstalled completely. We can use the uninstall tools provided by the manufacturer of Trend antivirus software to uninstall the software and then install Microsoft Security Essentials. Use the following link to download the uninstall utility based on the version of the antivirus installed on the computer Trend software:

Trend Micro Worry - Free Business Security Services: http://bit.ly/112g0A7

Trend Micro Titanium Internet Security: http://bit.ly/172zNU5

After you download the uninstall utility, run the file and follow the on-screen instructions to complete the uninstall. Restart the computer and use the following link to download Microsoft Security Essentials: http://bit.ly/14pG1fw

    Please post the results.
