T500 - Port

Hello

I need Info on a port which is located on the left side of my Thinkpad T500.

the Port is located between the video and the Lan Port and resembles an interface SATA or eSATA.

Unfortunately, the port is no interfaces above.

Who can tell me what type of port it is?

Thank you!

  • Win 7 / T500: no driver for Serial Port PCI

I have what I think it's all Lenovo installed software after an upgrade to Windows 7. This includes the touchpad and Intel AMT drivers. However, I show still no drivers for "PCI Serial Port" in my device manager.

No idea how to solve this problem of exceptional pilot?

    Thank you!

The manufacturer is Intel and here is the link for the driver you need:

    http://www-307.IBM.com/PC/support/site.WSS/document.do?sitestyle=Lenovo&lndocid=MIGR-73567

I think that you just install this driver in case you have Intel AMT active. If Intel AMT is disabled I do not think that this device will be shown in Windows.

  • port eSATA/USB combo T410?

It is listed in the specifications as a port eSATA/USB combo.

I looked at the port and I don't see how a USB connector can fit in there.

    While this means exactly?

Its ok. Ive discovered that in fact it is not a combo Harbour.

    Thank you.

  • T500 Windows 8.1 drivers 64-bit

I just installed an SSD in my 2081CTO ThinkPad T500 and did a clean install of Windows 64-bit Professional 8.1. As the system seems to be faster than with the original HARD drive / WIndows 7 Pro 64-bit, there are a number of missing drivers and Thinkpad apps:

    • Fingerprint drivers - Fingerprint software for 8.1 installs, but apparently not with the right drivers for this machine fingerprint sensor. Device Manager displays the sensor of fingerprint unmanned.
    • "Keyboard shortcuts" / on-screen display - I found a version on the Lenovo Web site that installs at least a piece, but the blue Fn keys combination with things like screen brightness, turn on/off wireless, etc does not work.
    • ThinkVantage support - the blue "ThinkVantage" button doesn't seem to have any software to trigger
    • Switchable graphics - when this option is enabled in the BIOS, only the Intel graphics card works. The ATI card shows that it cannot start in Device Manager. I set the BIOS to use discrete graphics and ignore the OS support for switchable graphics and now work the ATI card and the Intel adapter does not appear in Device Manager
    • PCI controller memory - shows in the device without driver manager
    • Serial port PCI - shows in the device without driver manager
    • Simple controller PCI of communication - shows in the device without driver manager

Here is a screenshot of the Device Manager showing devices with missing drivers:

Can someone point me drivers/software that will allow these devices on my T500? Alternatively, can anyone tell me if Lenovo can release the updated drivers that will sustain them?

    Thank you

    -Jeremy

Try to install the Intel AMT drivers. Or if you do not use AMT, disable it in the BIOS.

  • T500 compatibility with Advanced Mini Dock 2504

    Help please!

I have a mini advanced docking station 2504 I used with my R61 successfully for a few years.

I recently bought a T500 and was informed by the sales department that my existing 2504 advanced mini dock would be compatible with the T500.

When I use the mini dock with the T500 no USB port works not at all?

All the solutions or do I need a different mini dock.

    they are definitely compatible.

  • T410 audio port gives the output on one side of the enclosure

I had a T410 recently and have been pretty happy with it.

The problem is, my normal headset used to work initially, had no trouble getting sound in both left and right headset speakers. Then slowly I started to have trouble getting sound in my left ear piece. I had to twist and turn the connector and it would work occasionally and it does not work most of the time.

I tested with two headphones that work with other devices, but when I connect it with this, I hear in my right atrium only. Speakers work fine.

How can I solve this problem?

Hi and welcome to the forum!

I have 3 iPod headphones, 2 of them are compatible parts but the 3rd is authentic Apple. Headphones compatible when connected to my T400 with the same problem you are describing, the sound comes only from one of their ear pieces and me too I have to twist and turn in a certain position for its exit from both ends. However, the genuine Apple earphone works out of the box, but all these 3 headphones work fine with my iPod. My conclusion is that only connect headphones of good quality with the thinkpad.

But the problem could be different, I suggest you look at this thread and Knowledge Base article, maybe what you need is just an adapter to resolve this problem: -.

  • Cannot set external monitor like main window on T500

How can I configure my external monitor as the main in Vista window when it is connected to the docking station DVI port mini?
"My problem is that the check box ' this is my main monitor" is always disabled after having extended my desktop to monitor 4.

The external monitor is loaded as screen 4. (Screen 3 is the T500 and 1 & 2 is assigned to the internal Intel screen card that is not in use)

    Thank you
    Philippe

Vista because of grief in this regard and we have never seen a good answer about why.

The good news is the utility Thinkpad Presentation Director - fire just that upward and step through the wizard. It will allow you to set up your monitors as you wish and save it as a profile. In most of the situations that the configuration will be available when anchor you, but worst case are you just select the profile of the PD icon in the task bar (or the value of the checkbox to automatically apply whenever the laptop is connected).

I want to emphasize however that we have to make these options - the great victory is the ability to put primary watching for whatever reason Microsoft has grayed out in regular checkups.

    Best,

    Kevin

P.S. If you really don't want to see the configuration of four screens and that you will not use the switchable graphics in the BIOS you can set discrete graphics (only) display rather than switchable. You will still likely PD to define primary/Main.

PPS you should also be able to do through the ATI Catalyst Control Center, but in some cases that makes you stop more than the PD Assistant.

  • No sound on Display port

I have connected my T500 to a LCD TV using the display port adapter and HDMI to HDMI cable. Picture is fine, but his fate from the top of the tower only. How can I get sound through the TV please?

    Roy

The current view port does not sound, video only. It is a hardware limitation.

  • Bluetooth, disappeared after Windows 7 install (T500)

I just installed Windows 7 on my T500 and after installing almost all Lenovo Windows 7 drivers and software, I stumbled upon a roadblock with the Bluetooth software. When I run it, it tells me that I don't have bluetooth on my laptop (I do).

I run the v4.0.1.100.1124 file that I downloaded from the Lenovo site. He says it's for Windows 7. When you run it, it says it's installing '6.2.0.9600' so-called 'Thinkpad Bluetooth and enhanced data rate software '. It starts then stops by saying that I have no Bluetooth device.

I don't know if it's related, but my device manager says I'm missing "PCI Serial Port" and "PCI controller of Communications Simple." I don't know if that is related.

Can someone help me find my bluetooth?

    Thank you!!!

    * SOLVED *.

I solved my problem. It's stupid, but I am posting here in case someone else gets through all the transitions in Windows 7 and ends up stuck on this one.

You need to manually activate the Bluetooth adapter with Fn-5 first. Then you can install the Lenovo Bluetooth driver.

  • T500 freezes at opening splash screen Thinkpad

I have a T500 [2081-CT0] running Windows 7.  Today the startup of the device froze on the screen of Thinkpad starts at the beginning of the startup routine.  I can hear the fan and feel the rotation of the disk.

I first rebooted several times, removed the battery, reconnect the HARD drive...

A previous question which has been intermittent is the USP does not recognize an external HARD drive.  He would always recognize the reboot, but not initially on other computers in the home and the office.   This problem started in the last two weeks.

My thought is the HARD disk controller, but I'm not familiar with architecture T500 to know its place in the world.

I did the initial research here [and more] but right now I have a dead T500

Is it possible that the USB port that you have connect the hard drive is damaged? Look in the port with a magnifying glass. A USB circuit causes these symptoms.

  • T60p w / no BT not found, no access I/O port menu!

    Hello

I have a T60p w / bluetooth factory, no BT option (under preload Xp or another drive of W7, in that I was going to Exchange).

installed all the updates, update BIOS giving, nada.  No BT device not found, no radio BT under FN + F5, all the usual stuff fails.

strange thing is that I have NO menu 'I/o port access' to all security BIOS.  That's where I would allow BT (if it is installed and not dead).

as in this post: http://forums.lenovo.com/t5/T400-T500-and-newer-T-series/Does-the-ThinkPad-have-Bluetooth/ta-p/49160... even if there is no BT, there are other products covered by this I/O menu, such as wireless, USB, etc.  How do I have an I/O menu and how to fix this?

it sucks.  I have a 2nd T60p machine (this one without BT option), and that there is no menu access I/O port security BIOS either.  What is going on?

    Thanks in advance.

problem solved.  It was in the bios, had to scroll down, not before, see active hidden past.

has had a lot of work to get the stupid TP BT laser mouse to connect, but there finally.  Windows Update stopped working, gave service does not no error message.  tried everything on the net without success.  Finally fixed by the Assembly of updated Storage Manager intel of all things.  Looks like everything works now.  W7 was not a transparent installation on this machine.

  • T500 internal (built-in) microphone does not work do not

I have a T500 2802 7Sg which took 2 updates to the bios and the internal microphone does not work.  Have an international warranty and Lenovo service tech said I need to take the laptop to be repaired and what I read the problem seems to be a software/driver gliche.  Does anyone know a miracle or download driver solution that will solve this problem?

    Thank you

    Hello

Go into the BIOS > Security > access to the Port of IO > scroll microphone > make sure that the power is turned on

  • T500 Recommande/compatible Docking Station

    Hey guys,.

I have a T500 and looking to buy a docking station for professional use. I will be plug in an Ethernet cable, an external monitor the power cord of course.

Can you recommend what is the cheapest model base that can do and is also compatible with my T500? So far I'm going around websites, try to find one that would fit, but I couldn't find an option and I am very scared that I could order something that is not compatible.

    Thank you!

I suggest you the Advanced Mini Dock. It allows you to use a DVI or VGA cable. The USB port replicator with video might be cheaper, but it has a different approach, using a chip video 0ff-Board of Directors. The mini dock offers a more robust solution.
