  In addition, at this level, I could see the 'Associated objects' tab which has all the information I need, such as Clusters and Cluster tab hosts and host tab respectively.

  So, I think its possible to get this list to vCenter folder level.

  It is not possible to obtain all hosts a folder specific vCenter from a single query Data Manager.  You need to get the list of centers of data first and then get a list of data center hosts.

  It is best to make these repeated requests to the java level and return only the list that you want to the user interface.

  You can get all the objects in the host of the system with a simple query using a constraint with targetType = 'HostSystem', but you will need to eliminate those from other vCenter servers.  See how this chassis example queries all hosts the Java later in the getHosts() method: samples/chassis-app/chassisRackVSphere-service/src/main/java/com/vmware/samples/chassisRackVSphere/ChassisRackVSphereDataAdapter.java

  Another option is to use the vSphere Web Services SDK to browse vCenter. See the vSphere management forum for help on these APIs.  See this plugin of the sample using this SDK

• Lost computer internet wired host and work group

  Wired desktop host XP Home Edition has lost internet connection on a network shared with win 7 laptop wireless. Laptop computer has the internet connection on shared network, but do not pick up the host.  Only picks up residential and d-link bridge.  Host not to pick up cell phone, or a residential gateway.  Cannot reconnect because the TCP/IP settings are incorrect.  LAN and 1394 are send but not receive.  How can I restore internet on the host and the two working group? Working group name is always on both computers. Do I need to set up a new network and the Working Group?

  The configuration looks like this:

  -Group 1 in subnet a (1 GB SAN, older)

  -Group 2 in subnet B (10 GB SAN), most recent

  -Host is connected to all subnets through different cards is a Windows Server, has HIT Kit and MPIO work group has

  -Subnet A and B are physically and logically separate, no traffic can flow directly from one to the other

  I would use the host to be able to access and transfer data on and between the two groups (application using based on the host mirrored, etc.).

  HIT / only supports ME a MPIO for each host institution, is obviously the first thing to be not 'ok', I would have had to include two subnets A and B.

  The only downside, including the two subnets in the MPIO HIT, is that it will periodically attempt to connect to a cluster with network cards on the other subnet.   The connectivity check fails and just use NIC which can reach the appropriate group.

  Got a weird here.

  Add 6.0 host vSphere to Active Directory.

  Added a group of pub with the Administrator role.

  I can authenticate with an AD user account that is a member of this group of ads, using SSH or Shell access.

  I cannot authenticate with an account AD who is a member of this group of ads using the Web UI or Client vSphere linking directly to the host.

  If I add the domain user directly with the role of administrator on the host computer permissions, the Web GUI and vSphere Client will be authenticate using the user of the AD.

  What it looks like access using SSH/Shell, vSphere host can burst of belonging to a group and to authenticate, but using the GUI Web or vSphere Client he can't.  There are not a lot of sense to me.

  The hostd.log file has nothing in it which is very informative, just a line saying "status: success accepted password for the user", followed by the event 131: could not connect the user without permission.

• Sharing data between the host computer stores in different groups.

  I read in several places that sharing of data warehouses between the host in different groups is possible, but I don't get the warm and fuzzies when the hosts are different versions.

  vCenter is 4.1

  Group Alpha is 4.0 vmfs 3.33

  Bravo of cluster is 4.1 vmfs 3.46

  My goal is to move the virtual machines that meet the specific criteria of group Alpha for Cluster Bravo then the availability of flowing freely between clusters.

  I'm trying to create multilevel subpages in the bb-hosts file and I am so far unsuccessful. I want to create a hierarchy like this:

  You can create an additional level of exploration down by setting up areas of the screen. Doing will change the default URL to your BBDISPLAY. To do this:

  Well, it seems that I could solve the problem.

  There is not any messages telling me that the SKYPE account has been locked, while Microsoft, it was not. They wanted me to change the password for some reason any, while they were locked. Since the account Skype has been locked the account Microsoft, things like who was online and worked this kind of things, but I had trouble sending messages etc. because the side inherited things Skype wasn't working.

  Change the password of Skype (which did change the password for microsoft at the same time) worked and I was able to send and receive calls and messages normally after that.

• BB-hosts and config number BB5.01

  Hi, I have a strange problem past and am to the point where I don't know where else to look at.

  I had to reinstall my application for BigBrother Server recently and removed about 100 guests of the file bb - hosts.cfg. Remove all logs, etc. from the files \BBNTD\5.01 and fire. Shortly after that he began to report on the servers that I had deleted from the file bb - hosts.cfg. I try to delete them via the management portal and they fail to withdraw, saying unable to connect to the database.

  I don't have a BB to connect to a database.

  Hmmmm... I'll make sure the BB service stopped before doing anything... in fact, completely uninstall/reinstall is probably the best (backup your bbhosts.cfg and use it when you reinstall). Delete the whole directory of BBNTD\5.01.

  If you don't want to do this, just stop the service of BB and delete everything in BBVAR\LOGS and see if that helps.

  When you add hosts to a group, for example, a server SQL gets SQL Server and servers - any affected group or is the SQL Server group pretty good? Also, is it better to use the default group or to clone the group/s?

  It's about how I do. The exceptions are when it makes more sense to exclude a class of certain rules rather than creating an exception.

  By default, my host is in , I can't delete it. I have not all policies assigned to . Two other groups of policy.

  Is completely Agent in Test Mode? Test mode don't apply to the group that it is not enabled? So if my other two bands are not in test mode, the rules always normally, or is replace this parameter?

  If a host is in a group that is in test mode, all the rules that apply to the host are in test mode.

  A host can have rules in test mode and still have other rules to protect mode.

  OK, I'm testing laboratory a vsan 6.0 cluster.

  I have my running 6.0.0 esx hosts and vcenter server is 6.0.0 also.

  I have the services platform on a virtual machine and vcenter on another. I was able to create a data center, then a cluster below.

  Then I went to try to add a host to my group and I get this error...

  Failed to contact the specified host (hostname\IP). The host may not be available on the network, may have a network configuration problem, or that the management on this host services may not respond.

  I confirmed that my vcenter server and platform services server can see all esx hosts. From the vcenter server, it can ping the host esx and PuTTY can access all of them. I even installed the client and it can connect to all esx hosts. I used the netbios name, IP and FULL domain name and they all work.

  I have only a single subnet, so this isn't a problem. DNS resolution works in all areas of both sides, vcenter esx hosts and host esx to vcenter.

  OK, after working with VMware on this issue, I think that I thought about it.

  All my hosts are DL360 G6 servers.

  My hosts are run the same build «VMware-ESXi-6.0.0-2494585-HP-600.9.2.38-Mar2015.iso» ESX Downloaded from HP.

  All buildings are in trial mode.

  After placing a call to VMware, they had me build some ESX VM, the services of the platform and the vcenter VM on an ESX host. We suspended because it took all day to go upward.

  Once I woke up all the parts (sql server, esx vm, server platform & vcenter) in virtualization nested, I created my data center, then Cluster then added the ESX host.

  I also downloaded the iso file of HP 2 other times to make sure and do a validation test and it did the same thing.

• NFS share for one (1) added when adding to a new host in the existing data center

  I'm sure it's a simple answer, but I've been beating my head on the wall, trying to find a solution. The scenario is as follows:

  1 Vcenter has several hosts in different groups. All built at the same time with a NFS share that is shared among all.

  2. I add a new host to the data center (I tried independently and also added to a cluster as well).

  3. the new host sees its local disk as a data store, as expected, but I have to add the shared NFS datastore.

  4. at the level of the host, I go to configuration-storage-add storage and the NFS share.

  It shows and normal with NFS (1) as the name. I can't rename it as it says THAT NFS already exist. I understand that there are in the vcenter DB, but how to add this new host or host an existing environment and maintain the name of the NFS share? vCenter 5.5, 5.5 esxi

  finally found the problem,

  the mounting data store I used FQDN.domain.com /Datashare

  I needed to use the FULL domain. DOMAIN.COM /Datashare

  Plugs in the name of area COMPLETE the variance in the symbolic name that caused the problem.

  Welcome to the community,

  DRS, DPM, and HA is a complex topic and there are many things that are taken into calculation. (Preferential) rules 'should', can be violated by the DRS if necessary and they could also be violated by HA, because HA is not aware of these rules. If the DRS is defined in the lower priority 2 it will correct these HA based violations if possible.

  For very detailed information on this complex (and interesting) topic, I can really recommend "vSphere 5.0 Clustering technique deepdive ' by Duncan Epping and Frank Denneman.
