BEFSR81 v3.0 Firmware 2.51.4.4 update failed - WARNING! Bad hardware on the Web of Linksys site version

I bricked just my BEFSR81 v3.0 wired 8-port router 10/100 fast ethernet today because the Web of Linksys site for this router connects to new firmware 13/06/2008 Ver.2.51.4.4 but the name of download file is for the hardware version v3.1 !  Thanks a lot for Linksys to make umpteenth screwup making me break my material.  I really wonder if this is due to incompetence or malevolance?

BEFSR81 EtherFast® Cable/DSL Router with 8-Port Switch - v3.0 - downloads

Firmware

I tried the soft reset, hard reset and shorting pins 15 & 16 for mode of security built on the flashrom but no luck.  The router responding to pings to 192.168.1.1 but has all ports closed according to NMap and won't take any additions windows tftp.exe TFTP because it puts error "invalid password." When issuing the '-i 192.168.1.1 tftp.exe firmware.bin "downgrade to firmware 2.51.4.1 previous command.

I just find the TFTP2.exe utility that takes a password as a parameter and I managed to downgrade my router with success and restore it back to all the features!

  • jumble of text in the web interface after Web Services update / firmware

I received a message on the screen of my Officejet 6700:

    Update recommended

An update is available for Web Services (ePrint and Apps).

    Do you want?

I chose to update now and it installed fine, or so I thought.

I checked the web interface of the printer, and there is a bunch of text confused, as the code is messed up for the web server.

I had just finished to check the status of your ink cartridges (and subsequently replaced a), so I have the fully functional Web page fortunately still open on another machine, so I can tell exactly what is forward - after on this page.

On the tools > gauge of ink page, on the right page (old) the said table (title, first line, first column):

    Cartridges installed

    Color | Magenta | Cyan | Yellow | Black

    Part number

    Type

    End of warranty date (A-M-J)

    First Installation Date (A-M-J)

    Area of ink

    USE

    HP

But after the software update, it says this:

    Print the self-test Page

    L@S#0456 | Number of recorded events. L@S#0462 | L@S#0552 | L@S#0450

    Use of the accumulated media

    Date

    L@S#0477

    L@S#0561

    L@S#3345

In addition, the order "supplies" link, with a contextual text of "print order supply."

now, says "Cartridge", with a contextual text ' block unwanted faxes '

And "Print Printer Status Report" now says "L@S#2567".

I went to the support section and found an update firmware, but during download and execution, after you find the printer, he says that he is already up to date and leaves me not choosing to try and reapply the update of the firmware (as is obviously what is happening through the touchscreen menu has already done).

Should I just restore to factory settings? I think that firmware would not be changed by doing this. It is not an older version of the firmware available on the product support page, to return to an earlier version.

Via the screen menu touch printer, a Printer Status Report print indicates the firmware version is MPM3CN1322DR.

How to force a reinstallation of the firmware, or let them difficulty firmware which was released on 25-06 - 2013?

I've been using Google Chrome and even had 2 tabs open in the same window, one from before the update and the second I opened after the update, so this was not a factor.

I had not revisited the web interface of the printer to date, and currently, I see that the problem has disappeared!
The version of the firmware has not changed, and I did no manipulation of the printer. I also highly doubt that the main user has nothing, because it is not tech savvy. So, the problem seems to have corrected itself.

The only thing I see now, that I did not notice before, is that there is a version of firmware fix, but it currently says 0. I don't know what it was before, but I guess zero means that there is a patch, so the firmware didn't automatically update in order to make the problem disappears.

Problem disappeared, but I don't know how or why. I haven't decided if I will update the second printer that is the same model.

  • P1102w firmware update failed

    Hello.

I tried to update the firmware for HP P1102w, and he seemed to be omitted. After waiting for a long time, he ended up with the error message, "restart the power of the cycle, and then try again" or something like that.

After that, he does not appear in my network, and I lost the web interface and the print function. My rounter does not show its presence. The printer has solid purple lights on the WiFi and the triangle of light.

I tried to do a factory reset, but I could not find.

I understand that the firmware has failed is critical. Someone knows how to fix this?

    Thank you very much.

    Hi ttanemori,

Please connect the printer to your computer via a USB cable, and then restart the update of the firmware.

  • utility based on the Web shows again the old version of the firmware - HELP PLEASE

In September of last year, I replaced my old Linksys with a new (BEFSR41 ver 4.3).  I started to get in trouble yesterday, so I consulted the web-based utility and noticed that the window says: the firmware 2.0 version!

I tried to update to the latest firmware available for my model, following the instructions on the site but something went wrong and the firmware has been altered. Finally, I managed to update the firmware via tftp utility, and he said that the upgrade has gone through. But the utility still shows the version of the firmware 2.0.  Under the router > status reads as follows:

    Capture (share.field_33_UI_share) Firmware Version: 2.00.4 build 7, January 20, 2010

I am very confused. Which is the latest firmware or I get it confused with the 4.3 version number?

I really hesitate to update the firmware again after the problems I had the first time.  If anyone can give me some advice on what to do, I would really appreciate it.

You confuse the hardware version of the router with the version of the firmware.

The BEFSR41 is the model. One physical versions of this model. Each version contains a different material. The exact hardware version is printed on the label under the router.

The firmware version is the version of the firmware (software) running on the router. It is important that the firmware used is compatible with the hardware version of the router. For this reason, you must select the correct hardware on the router Linksys support download site version to be sure to choose the right firmware compatible with your router.

The latest version of the firmware of the BEFSR41 v4.3 is Ver.2.00.4 Build 7. You have the latest firmware.

  • WRT160NL cannot connect to the web interface after firmware update

I've updated the firmware to unofficial http://mirwifi.org/download/fw/WRT160NL/wrt160nl-0.1.3-pre5.bin and since then I can not connect to the router through the web interface. What can I do? Is it possible to update the firmware to the official without web interface? Thanks in advance for any help.

The router's default IP address is 192.168.1.1. Try to ping the IP address of the router and check if you get answers from the router.

Open the Internet browser and in the address bar type http://192.168.1.1. See if you can open the router configuration page.

If this does not work then you can try to update the official firmware on the router using the TFTP.exe file.

Disable the firewall on your computer. Connect the computer to the router with the Ethernet cable.

    (1) download the official firmware file from the site Web of Linksys router. Save it to your computer.

    (2) download the tftp site Web of Linksys. Follow this link to search for the file tftp. You'll find downloads for router BEFW11S4. Select the version 3.2 hardware and download the installation wizard. Save it to your computer.

    (3) run the installation wizard. In the server box, type the IP address of your router. In the password box, type the password of the router. Default password for the router is admin. Find the file of the official firmware you have already downloaded and click on upgrade.

    See if it works.

After upgrading the Firmware on the router, it is recommended that you must reset the router and reconfigure.

Press and hold the reset button on the router for 30 seconds. Release the reset button and wait 10 seconds. Power cycle the router and reconfigure.

  • HP LaserJet 2300 Series Firmware update failed

    Hi all

After that I loaded a new firmware for my printer it still keeps asking me to install the new firmware. There is nothing else I can do with the printer. I (tried) to install the firmware over the network.

When I run the printer the display shows the following:

"Download file now" - Download now
"Return the RFU upgrd" - send rfu upgrade

Before the error, I followed the instructions in the Readme attached the new firmware and sent the command ' copy/b lj2300fw_04.050.2.rfu \\i7\hplaserj' to the printer on the network which confirmed that "1 file (s) copied".

The printer does not respond to Windows or Mac OS all over and is shown as offline in Windows.

When I try to reload the firmware there is simply nothing but I still have the confirmation "1 file (s) copied"

Thank you in advance for your help!

To get your question more exposure I suggest you post in the trade forums since it is a commercial product. You can do it at Business Forum.

  • PS4000 firmware update failed

The event ID: 30.4.1 table firmware version V6.0.11 for 7.0.1 update failed. Reason: Another copy of the update is already running. .

I'm moving to 6.0.11 to 7.0.1, so I can add my new ps6100 to the group.  FTP seems to happen when I do the mistletoe group management.  But when it gets to step 2 from upgrade fails before reaching 1%

My other set ps4000 up-to-date without problem.

    Any thoughts?

    Gift of greetings,

This problem has been resolved.   It was a problem with the controller, the controller had been for more than 500 + days.  This support has me initiate a reboot on the controller, once it was full, I ran the upgrade to 7.0.1 of the other controller without problem.  Then I switch to 7.1.5 to match new hardware, I install and when new material is attached to the group I will switch to the current 7.1.X

  • the iDRAC6 firmware update failed during the process

    Hello

One of my colleagues went to a customer who has a few problems with the upgrade of its most recent firmware iDRAC6.
    Case 1
    R710 - with firmware version 1.41-> 1.54 fails to 30%

    Case 2
    With the firmware 1.54-> 1.70 R710 - fails to 30%. Also I tried 1.54-> 1.80 fails also to 30%.

In both cases we found no indicationin error log files. Download was fine, checksum is ok, only FW upgrade failed, but no details.
It's a common mistake? What can we do to work around this error?

    Kind regards

    Stijn

I finally after trying to update iDRAC 6 version 1.0.3.10 to 1.98.8 (last update of this post)

The update (stuck) were held 30%.

Solution is to download "firming.d6" * wait 5 minutes * before clicking on the button update to begin loading the new firmware.

R610 server would not update unless the server has been turned off and then follow instructions above.

If I clicked the button to update firmware soon after downloading the file, it would always fail at 30%.

Hi - I tried to update my firmware (most wireless) and get the error message failed to update and powercycle the printer and try again.  I tried several times and get the same result - update failed.

    Thank you

    PS Windows 7 x 32

    Well...

Has decided to 'take the bull by the horns' and remove the impressions and all HP software.  A lot of ghosts and files left behind so had to use regedit to clean up junk and the C:\system32 goto and delete all the driver files - what a mess.

Started from scratch and utility installation found the printer and I also decided to abandon the bad software wireless connection and went with another Ethernet cable to my HP printers...

Now this printer works - the back to try to get my LJ1022n to stop the perpetual printing from my wifes computer...

    Problem solved using brute force.

  • SPA112: impossible to pass to 1.4.1 firmware (update failed)

    Hello

I recently updated the firmware from a dozen of SPA112 to 1.4.1. Everything worked well, except one. Even after a power cycle, always reports "Upgrade failed". It displays the following system information:

    Model: SPA112, 2 FXS
    Hardware Version: 1.0.0
    Boot Version: 1.3.1 (December 11, 2013 - 11:38:47)
    Firmware version: 1.3.5 (004) July 31, 2014
    The Firmware recovery: 1.0.1 (005)
    Serial number: CBT154009VM

I found it's my only camera with the greater than 1.0.x version of start. It upgrades only to the version of the firmware 1.3.5.

Y at - it incompatible with the firmware 1.4.1 and the starting version 1.3.1?

    Thank you for your support.

    Christoph

No such problems known (as I know). Make sure that the upgrade file is complete and intact (older firmware may not detect some types of changes):

    SHA256 = 595bb908e9223daafc68e0615c793bf65d3ae393b0ae77fdfe0b9d67b88f5911

    MD5 : 74dd18427f94bc76ae2e08bb0dbddcda
    SIZE : 9961864
If not changed then turn on syslog & debug (highest level) and capture him during the upgrade. It may disclose the real cause of the failure to upgrade.

I have previously updated the firmware on our RV220W of 1.0.0.26 to 1.0.1.0 without any problem, but all attempts to upgrade to the latest version 1.0.2.4 fails with the message following 'upgrade failed due to firmware not valid/damaged. The router then automatically restarts with the current firmware.

We have tried to re - download and apply the update of several different machines with different operating systems and browsers without success. Anyone who manages to implement this version of the firmware successfully? We really need a some VLAN fixes included in this latest version!

    Any suggestion would be appreciated.

have you tried to reset the router to the factory settings?

from 1.0.2.6 requires a factory reset once you have upgraded to 1.0.1.0 then maybe this one still has a reset?

  • Firmware for CP1525nw update fails to download correctly

I'm running an iMac with OS X10.6.7.  I'm trying to update the firmware for my CP1525nw printer.  The update of the firmware is here:

    http://h10025.www1.HP.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareDownloadIndex?softwareitem=LJ-86474-4&LC=en&DLC=en&cc=us&...

However, when I open the downloaded .dmg file, there is no firmware update utility in the window.  The window is empty, almost like a CD or USB Virgin has been mounted in place.  I tried to download the equivalent of the .exe on my PC at work, and it downloaded fine and showed the FW update.  I tried to download the .dmg file using multiple browsers (Firefox, Safari) and to the different machines, but I always get the same blank result.  Any ideas?

5/5 Update: looks like HP has made a new version of the file .dmg for Mac OS x available.  I just download it, and the update of the firmware is here.  I've successfully installed the new Firmware version 20110239.
