Behavior of pen tool that I find a bit odd

I don't know if it's something that you can change or just the way things are.

you draw a path and you have the black arrow as your modifier [ctrl], but you want the white arrow, if you switch to it, then go back to the pen and wear on the drawing. but the pen wants to start a new path because you change tools. or you want to turn on or off smart guides half way, same case. This seems a bit out of me, so I wonder if there is something I have not adjusted. the pen tool in PS does not appear you the spirit of switching selection tools: as long as you were on the path is unhindered, he picks up the anchor, it stopped.

It's just the way it is. Too-many-separate-tools of the Illustrator design often prevent behaviors which are taken for granted in programs with more elegant design interfaces.

  • Artbrush line pen tool becomes a triangle

    Hello world

Can someone please point me in the right direction. I am learning Illustrator and I am next to this video: http://blog.spoongraphics.co.uk/videos/video-tutorial-how-to-create-a-fun-vector-illustrat ion when I try and do a line with my pen tool that has the most points then two and try and do a zig - zag line and apply the art brush made to order on line, I get these orange triangles. Please can someone tell me what I am doing wrong.

    Thank you in advance.

Then the filling is already built into the brush.

If you did the brush off-trail with thick lines, check the latter if there is a fill applied and delete it. Then make a new brush or replace the existing one.

  • Pen tool behavior

Anyone know if it is possible to change the behavior of the pen tool?

    Here is a little example:

    pendelete.jpg

I paint a line (the black line) in the direction indicated by the red arrow.

I want to break the next anchor above the anchor immediately above the selected line end and continue to establish, in accordance with the gray dotted line.

As soon as the cursor approaches the anchor point it grows a little sign, threatening to remove the anchor if I should dare to do what I want to do.

I am sure that the pen tool did not always like that - you had to make special efforts to remove the checkpoints on older versions of Illie - but this current behavior can be changed by other simple means?

I know that it is possible to draw the points slightly off position and align them subsequently, but it's not what I'm fishing for. I don't want automatic failover of tools which is what my aunt gives me for the moment.

I think what you want is in the preferences > General > disable add/remove Auto box

  • When you use the pen tool when I click and create an anchor point and release the mouse button the pen tool emerges from the anchor and allow me to go and select a new anchor point. The right pen tool keeps adding lines that I move the mouse.

Try this.go in the menus. Select cc illustrator > preferences > display selection & anchor > then make sure the box "activate the rubber band for" the pen tool is not selected. Then press OK. It should work.

Or you can choose the pen tool (g), set the padding to zero and the race to what you want, then draw a path, then press U twice to reveal all of the properties that have been changed for the layer, and then click Add (top-right) and select Connect the tracks.

To make the race work just animate the start or end point and sent to paint on original or reveal original or normal.

  • Unable to set keyframes in the audio clip selected with the pen tool - can no longer see the volume control line after developing the clip. What could be the problem? This seems to be the problem on any project that I opened.

Cannot set keyframes in the audio clip selected with the pen tool - cannot see even the line volume control more to set keyframes on having developed the clip. What could be the problem?  I use the first CC pro @.

You can use the Ctrl key and then click with the regular selection tool, clicking with ctrl will make a new keyframe. in this way, have no need for the tools. CTRL has other great shortcuts that will stop you having to spend retouching pads tools too.

If the automation keyframe line is missing, you can switch on and off in the menu sequence.

  • How to maintain the Illustrator pen tool race settings (size, brush, etc.) for any new route?

I'm a newbie, so it's probably obvious, but I can't find it in the tutorials or documents.  In Illustrator, I want to keep the race settings when creating multiple paths with the pen tool.  However, whenever I start a new path, the time settings back to what should be a default value.  For example, I put 16pt + Variable + Basic and STROKE width profile path.  When I start a new path, return to 1 point + uniform + Basic settings, and I have to back to my original. Other art programs I've used maintain the settings of the tool used lately until they are manually changed.  How can I get the settings to stay through multiple uses of the pen tool?  Thank you.

    Hi Bion_s,

In the framework of play in Illustrator for a solution, I found that if you open your appearance Panel (window > appearance), select the menu drop down and deselect New Art has basic appearance.

I found that when this option is disabled, you can select your profile and the width of the line and shoot several times without him returning to the default line!

Please let me know if it works for you. I don't know how it might affect your workflow on other projects, but it has led to the behavior that you seemed to want.

    See you soon,.

  • Pen tool CS6 and confusion of path

    Hi again all,

It's driving me crazy! Everyone has noticed this with the pen tool?

If I have 2 anchor points with a curve, I always used to be able to grasp the (elastic) path between the 2 points and then drag to change the shape and size of the curve, keeping the angle of the axis the same tip.

It was great, and I've developed a style that I find very fast and very accurate using this method.

However now in CS6, when I take the path and drag, it changes the angle of the axis points completely change the shape of my way. Also when I take the path, sometimes to the point also will start moving! as it is not actually embedded... I used to be able "roll" the path in a curve... now he dragged it away.

Illustrator CS6 works as I want what he... Try it for yourselves. Create a square with the stylus, then add a point in the middle of 2 of the edges and remove the origin point in between (you will need create axis points yourself in illustrator). Now you should have 4 points and a curve... Drag the path and see the difference between illustrator and Psalm.

I can't stop this behavior? its causing me so much grief!... I know that there will be lots of people saying simply click and drag to create the curve but after 10 years of doing it this way, it will be a little difficult to do!

    Cheers in advance

You may know this, but if you do not I hope it helps.

  • Photoshop CS6 Pen Tool Lag (only Pen)

Hay guys, pen my tool of Photoshop CS6 has suddenly started to train and be slow when Im active on this tool. It is delayed and will slow down when I click on layers and do some other stuff, but ONLY when im on this tool. I have to wait 2-3 seconds for what it is to happen after I click on a point on the pen tool. Sometimes it's ok when its on the 'path' one but when its sequel "Shape" his late and goes really slow. This has only started to happen and he was quite fine the last time I used the pen tool. IM using Photoshop CS6 on Windows 7 and my computer is more than capable of handling the pen tool, as it has done completely well before. I tried enabling the GPU and change the setting from advanced to Basic. Also, I tried reseting my computer / open a new document and reopen Photoshop whgilst pressing Ctrl-Alt-shift to delete the settings but nothing worked. Can't seem to find a solution and im really confused as to why he suddenly arose and began to occur also if im on any other tool of its fine, no lag, nothing: L

EDIT: Sorry, I just realized all that creates a form based on a train line, so the Rectangle and Ellipse etc tool is lagging as well: S

  • Causes of puppet Warp and document to go black pen tool... is there a solution?

I use Photoshop CC 2014.  When I Zoom and am using the pen tool, after several anchor points, the document will go black, and I don't see what I'm doing.  If I hit ctrl + Z, I can get the document to return, but usually, I can't add more points to the path.

Today, as he tried to go to puppet Warp, after the mesh that stood, I tried to choose an anchor point.  When I did, the document became black, and I couldn't perform all the steps without trying to close completely off PS when I did, I was given the possibility to apply the filter.  When I chose to not apply puppet Warp, the document returned, and I cancelled to leave the program.

Now, however, when I try to go to puppet Warp, the document will go black, and the mesh is even more will appear.  I have PS set to run a little on the 'ideal' memory range running.  I closed and open PS several times.  I have 306,94 MB of free space on my drive from Scratch.

I use an Intel HD Graphics 3000 on Microsoft Windows 10.  My processor is an Intel Core [email protected] GHz, at 2095 MHz speed.

I searched everywhere, but am unable to find information on these exact issues together.  What I found similar was the issue with the tool pen to varying degrees.  Most of these people received information that it is due to run PS CC 10 Windows.  Does anyone know a work around for this problem with limited specifications I provided?

    Thank you for your time.

We pay every month for Photoshop... it gives me not an automatic update? I didn't know about that one.

You can install all the update using the application desktop cloud creative to do.  Your better off that updates are not automatic. Adobe allows has a lot of bugs to be released.  You're better off waiting to hear if the new update are good or not.  You should always keep an old working version of Photoshop installed for insurance.  You must use the installation of Adobe Photoshop options ahead to keep older versions of Photoshop to uninstalled by new version installers.  Adobe management must have brought the previous version uninstall a default value.  I don't think programmers who would do to users.

  • Help please with the pen tool! :)

I'm trying to draw a building with the pen tool.

I want that every surface (form?) to a new layer, but I want to use the angle of the previous shape to start and complete the new form so that they are distinct, but join perfectly.

I tried to use the transform tool to create forms I need and align them next to another form, but I don't know how

to make 'snap' to the shape on the other layer.

    I use Photoshop CC.

I was trying to search online, but finding this difficult issue of Word correctly in google to be honest.

Thanks in advance! I hope this makes sense.

    tedats wrote:

I must say I want the forms remain separated.

Yes, they would be all on separate layers.  You would use only part of the last shape to start the next to ensure perfect alignment.

Illustrator is a nod to the Point.  It always annoyed me that Photoshop does not handle the snap with the pen or free transform tool.  :-(

  • Adobe offers cloud the ability to share and collaborate on a PDF file, which may be increased online as for the images with the pen tool?

    Hello

Can someone share a PDF to images so that the employee can use the pen tool to increase (x-out arrow, circle, go here) with the pen tool, online, in the cloud of Adobe Document?

    Thomas

    Hi thomasbrigantino

You can share PDFs using Adobe Doc Cloud, but you can't supplement online and collaborate.

However, you might find 'share of comment' feature of Acrobat interesting DC: using Acrobat | Starting a review PDF
