Best practices when it comes to insert audio to powerpoint slides

I create a mix of slides with animations and software simulation projects in captivate.

Currently, I have developed the audio files associated with objects of the PowerPoint slide animation. My question

  • Can I insert sound files in PowerPoint and change the timing of the animation based on the duration of the audio. I've been playing with editing and be too honest, I'm getting a little frustrated trying to synchronize.

or

  • Can I insert the audio using Captivate after you import PowerPoint slides?

Any help is appreciated.

All the audio clips will be stored in the library. Either from the library or by using the Audio Control Panel, you can edit audio clips directly in the hearing (part of the Adobe Creative, one of the best audio applications available cloud) and when recording that they are automatically edited in Captivate as well. Workflow even exists with Photoshop: you can modify a Photoshop source file, where Captivate will keep the layers wanted separate way images in the library, and you can modify of Captivate right away in Photoshop. Captivate integration with other Adobe applications is unique in the e-learning tools.

    I use them for the Organization, most of the time. When interpolation of symbols on the stage it can be a symbol on the layer, or it won't work. There should be a layer specifically for actionscript as well.

  • Exporting 60 frames per second to 30 frames per second - best practices?

    Hello!

    I've been inattentive when setting up my DSLR before filming sequences for a small video testimony. So you end up with 60 fps clips where I wanted to 24 fps.

    I edited the full video in Prime CC expect to export at 30 fps without major problems. And to a certain extent, that's ok, except for a couple of pans that suck really :-/

    My question is: what is the best practice when exporting first CC or via Media Encoder?

    Would really appreciate your help!

    Thank you!

    Try to drop your video of 60 frames per second in a sequence of 30 frames per second, then export the movie.  Experience the turn (using short segments of your sequence for testing purposes) mixture of framework.

  • Best practices for .vmx

    We are moving a few guests of NetApp storage to a new VNX.  NetApp best practices (when we started with them) was to separate hard drives containing BONES and data from the virtual machine configuration file, newspapers, clings. newspapers, etc.  VMWare recommends the. VMDK for vm and OS configuration files be on the same data store.  From a point of view of the administration, it would be easier to follow the recommendation of VMware, but it would not conflict with features such as compression and dedup VNX storage?  Exchange files for example would not be entirely deduped.

    I'm probably a more conservative person and use thick provisioning, unless I am forced to do otherwise. If time permits I even create virtual disks "Eager to zero thick" which concentrates hard at the time of creation, rather than files in production. It is also the recommended method to prepare the virtual disks for data bases for example.

    I'm not saying a provisioning is not useful, but it really depends on the environment and the ability to quickly add additional storage if necessary.

  • Audio CD does not automatically play when the CD is inserted

    I have my settings set to read a CD automatically when the CD is inserted.  I insert an audio CD, and nothing happens.  No music.

    Hello

    Welcome to Windows Vista community responses.

    (1) made audio CD playback with Windows Media Player or any other third party software?

    (2) have you been able to use this feature before? If so what are the recent changes on the computer?

    Windows does not read the CD-Roma automatically if you only use the real-mode CD-ROM drivers. Protected mode drivers are called to play CD-ROMs automatically when you insert them into your CD-ROM drive.

    To manually change your auto CD play settings in Windows Vista

    1. open the control panel by going to the start menu.

    2. double-click on the default programs icon.

    Now choose the third setting down. Change AutoPlay settings.

    4. now you can choose which action to perform with which program.
    5. press on the drop-down menu to make your choice.

    Response please back and let us know if this helped with your question or let us know if you need more assistance.

  • Recommendations or best practices around change of the audio data on a network share?

    I have several users editing audio located on the same network share. They are always complaining about the performance.  Is it a best practice to edit audio located on the network?  I see so many issues (latency time, possible corruption, etc.) with that from the computer SCIENCE point of view, but I would like the opinion of those more familiar with the application and its best practices.  Thanks in advance.

    It's crazy! So that any audio to be edited with any degree of speed and security, it must be downloaded to a local computer, edited on that, and then the final result re-recorded on the network.

    You might as well do this anyway - at the time wherever you make a change, you store a local version of the file temp on the editing machine, and it has real save, or save as who turned to the network drive. Also, you would be working on a copy, the original is still available in the case of the vis - is up, and would not be the case if you edit the original files directly on the network, so it is intrinsically safer.

  • best practices for image insertions

    I intend to create new subjects of webhelp and modify existing entries in my project. Is it best practice to put graphic files in the same folder as the input HTML files?

    The first rule on the images, it's that you don't "place" an image anywhere in the file system. You insert/import it in a topic using the RoboHelp dialog box. HR copy from its original location in the project file and stores it in one or more files houskeeping. If you make any manual moving images in the display of the Windows directory, HR to lose track of what he has and will be "not aware" of everything you moved to.

    Next depends on what version of HR that you are using. It's different for HR 7, against RH X 5 and 6 HR.

  • Material LV real-time Ethernet com best practices

    Hello

    I just started to learn the LV in real-time, and until I get a new cRIO I just played with a former PSC-2220.

    Everything works, I am reading the tutorals nice about RT and deployment/running example to this target applications.

    However, I don't know what is the best practice, the IP address of this device handling. For easy installation, after a device reset (and install the new RT runtimes, etc) I put just the HW to obtain the dynamic IP address of my router (DHCP). My laptop connects to the same router via wifi.

    However, since after a few resets the target Gets a new IP (192.168.0.102, previous IP was... (104), I have to manually change the IP address in my project. Is it possible that the LV auto detects the target in my project? In addition, it seems that MAX retains the old information and creates a new line for the same target... so I guess that if the problem persists, MAX is going to fill? See screenshots below.

    As a solution, I'll try to use static IP for the target, so it must always use the same IP address.

    What is the common procedure to avoid this kind of problems? Just using static IP? Or miss me him too something else here?

    Thank you!

    I just always use static IP addresses.  It avoids just all kinds of questions, especially if you have several systems on the same network.

  • Best practices for Smartview when upgrading from Excel 2003 to Excel 2007?

    Anyone know the best practice for Smartview during the upgrade from Excel 2003 to Excel 2007?

    Current users have Microsoft Excel 2003 with Smartview 9.3.1.2.1.003.

    Computers are upgraded to Microsoft Excel 2007.

    What is the best practice for Smartview in this situation?

    1. do nothing with Smartview and just install Excel 2007.

    2. install Excel 2007 and then uninstall and reinstall Smartview

    3 uninstall Smartview, Excel 2007 installation and then install Smartview

    4 something else?

    Thank you!

    We went with option 1 and it worked very well. Be aware that OAS Treaty substantially slower in Excel 2007 to 2003. Many users have been/is unhappy about the switch. We have not tested SV v11 yet, so I don't know if it has improved performance with Excel 2007 or not (hopefully it does).

  • Gears - error when you try to insert values into a table with multiple columns

    Hello

    I started playing with the gears and SQlLite today and I get an error when I try to insert values into a table with multiple columns.

    I have:

    var db = google.gears.factory.create('beta.database');
        db.open('developerSet');
        db.execute('create table if not exists Developers (DeveloperName text, DeveloperAge int)');

        var devName = "Davy"
        var devAge = 32;

        try {
            db.execute('insert into Developers values (?, ?)', [devName, devAge]);
            alert('success');
        }
        catch (e) {
            alert(e);
        }

    I get the error:

    net.rim.device.api.database.DatabaseException; insert into developers values (?,?): SQL logic error or missing database.

    I use this reference: http://code.google.com/apis/gears/api_database.html

    Everything works if I have only one field as:

    var db = google.gears.factory.create('beta.database');
        db.open('developerSet');
        db.execute('create table if not exists Developers (DeveloperName text)');

        var devName = "Davy"
        var devAge = 32;

        try {
            db.execute('insert into Developers values (?)', [devName]);
            alert('success');
        }
        catch (e) {
            alert(e);
        }

    I use the plug-in Visual Studio 2.0 for 2008 that are running Windows XP SP and Simulator 2.13.0.56

    Thank you

    Davy

    Yes, a SQLite database will persist between battery pulls.  The database is registered either to internal MEM or removable media (not the device memory), depending on which is available on your device.

    In general, its not considered a best practice to remove your table as soon as it is empty and re - create it again when you want to add data.  This adds extra overhead fresh for the final, delete and insert first for a given table.  Instead, define and finalize your drawing before you create your table.  Once created, review the static schema.

    That being said, for development purposes, it may be easier to provide an easy way to drop your tables while you develop your schema.

    See you soon,.
