  Sorry for the low resolution. I would like to create a line with a triangle at each end, similar to the one illustrated. What is the best way to achieve this using InDesign? I will create three or four and we will add the month abbreviations for years.

  I'd probably use the online tool to create the line. You can hold the SHIFT key to make the straight line. For triangles, you can either use the polygon tool (shift click to set the number of sides) or you can create a square with the rectangle tool (hold down the SHIFT key while dragging to make a square) and use the pen tool to remove a corner of the shape, creating a triangle. I generally prefer the polygon tool.

• Is DataBlDel() the best way to remove channel lines?

  I try to delete specific lines in a block of channels and find that DataBlDel() is extremely slow. Of course, my channels is fairly long (~ 36e6 lines), but I find that it takes hours to remove a handful of lines. Is there a better way to do it?

  This task can be done loads faster.  First, the DataBlDel() command is working on multiple channels and multiple lines at once, so you call it many more times to you.  If the time of<0 rows="" are="" contiguous,="" the="" ideal="" approach="" would="" be="" to="" use="" the="" find()="" function="" to="" get="" the="" first="" row="" where="" time="">= 0 and use exactly a call DataBlDel() to remove all lines not valid 3 channels.  If the time<0 rows="" are="" not="" contiguous,="" then="" i'd="" recommend="" using="" the="" calculator="" approach,="" like="">

• best way to draw (not ground) on a graph?

  HI -.

  I need to change the appearance of a chart a bit. The user does not want the full grid lines, but he does not want a small cross (as a sign more) drawn in each of the four quadrants. The CanvasDrawLine() function would be good for that, if it worked on Graph objects, but it doesn't. I guess I could use bit files, but... there at - it a more easy/better way?

  EDIT: after reading a little more on little cards, it is not clear to me that these work, either. So... any other ideas at all?

  I have two comments/suggestions:

  • you don't need to erase the complete graph (your handful of plot-1 setting), but you can simply delete the individual parcels (using the handles of the individual parcel) keep your cross. Simple and does what you want, what you need to do is some bookkepping handles plot
  • don't forget that you can also have a transparent background of the graph. If, for example, your axis interval is constant, you can use a bitmap adapted behind the chart control

• What is the best way to draw this diagram - circles within circles?

  

  Please do not draw for me - I need instructions that I met this kind of diagram often and feel powerless and stressed out whenever I see them!

  It should be easy - circles in circles which are then cut to the top.

  For simple divisions of concentric circular rings like those of the OP, you can:

  (1) create the necessary concentric circles (including duplicates) and create complete rings,

  2) slide the Center with the tool in line where you want to cut and object > path > divide objects below.

  Before dividing, hide/lock parts only not to cut, like the ring to analyze it.

  This works in all versions.

• What is the best way to determine which line a user has clicked on a link?

  Hello. Question no doubt simple, but my googleing fails me. I have a table with a column that is a command link. How can I determine which row was clicked on? I need to take this value and to move to another page to link it to a different query. I thought to establish the result in a session bean? Or is there a better way?

  Hello

  You have two options:

  1. (complex) have your ActionListener evaluate the event to get the source, then climb the tree of components up to the table and get the data of the current line;
  2 (single) add a setPropertyActionListener in relation to the value = "#{var}" target = "#{destination}" where var is the value of the attribute of the var and destination table is your bean managed requiring the line clicked.

• The best way to draw the difference of phase vs. time of two signals

  I have three channels (time, force, displacement) of approximately 1 000 seconds of a sinusoidal test load test data (sampling rate was 100 Hz).  I would draw the difference in phase between the force and displacement (perhaps using a second window 30) according to time.  I tried using a few different analysis functions, but I get what looks like random noise (phase difference between force and displacement is very small and the difference in amplitude is very fantastic - 4 orders of magnitude).  Any suggestion would be appreciated! -Jim

  Hi Jim,.

  The phase channel resulting, that you get with the function FFT DIAdem is in the frequency domain.  If you select a channel data and time in the FFT dialog box, you will get a frequency channel that results as well as the Phase channel resulting.  If you select only a weather channel of waveform data in the FFT dialog box, you will get a Phase of waveform frequency channel resulting.

• Best way to update multiple lines without multiple queries?

  Maybe it's because it's Monday, but here's my question...

  I have a table that contains a column of sequence. When I add a new record I want sometimes introduce it between some of the existing records. Tell me if I want to insert a record with a sequence of 20 and pushing records with sequences of 20 to 200 a. If not, how can I update these records without 180 queries inside a loop. It works like this, but for obvious reasons, I want to avoid doing this way.

  Reader follows just the internal structure of the file. If the application that created it did not separate the text correctly there is not that you can do about it, I'm afraid.

• best way to clone the preparation of the document, the starting grid, to a new document?

  InDesign CS 5.5 I want to clone the exact parameters of an existing to a new document document. I know that I could save the existing document as a template, but it's a book full of size and none of the text is relevant. Is there an easy way to delete all the text, headers and footers included?

  I can import all styles, but I see no way to import or save and name of the configuration document, other than to do it manually.

• Draw a line connecting two points in the WPF chart

  I'm trying to understand the best way to draw a line between two existing points on my graph in WPF.  At first, I thought I had it works fine; I just added another parcel to my graph then given exactly two points for rendering.  But I quickly noticed that the app has become surprisingly slow and CPU was quite high (adding other plots does not affect the use of the CPU as long as they have a complete set of points (?)).  He wants me if I looked at using the DataToScreen method on the chart but I can't know what the parameters are.  The second parameter is simply an IList that tells me a lot.  This seems to be the method I want to use for the coordinates of a point on the graph screen.

  No one knows what the second parameter is supposed to be for the DataToScreen method?  Everything I tried throws an Exception of Argument.

  DataToScreenwill return a screen coordinate in the plot area of a chart of the value of the raw data horizontal and vertical in the given list. The parameter value is a IList for compatibility with other methods of graphical query such as FindNearestValue , return IList values containing raw data.

  A concrete example, say you had a graphical configuration with a wide horizontal axis ranging from 0 to 100 and a vertical axis double precision ranging from 10 to 20:

  
          
              
              
          
      

  To get the screen coordinates of the value at the center of the two axes, you can call:

  graph.DataToScreen(plot, new object[] { 50, 15.0 })

  Note that the raw data values corresponding to the type of axes (horizontal AxisInt32 returns the integer 50 and vertical AxisDouble Gets the value 15.0 ).

  You also mentioned a performance issue where "adding other plots does not affect the CPU so that they have a complete set of points". I did a simple test app that adds an array of two points of a chart on each key (for example graph.Data.Add(new[] { new Point(x1, y1), new Point(x2, y2) }); ), but could not reproduce the problem you saw. Could you share the code, you use to draw the connection line?

  I must be missing something obvious, but there is no option of the straight line in the menu forms in Captivate 8 as it was in version 7. and I can't find any other way to draw a line of in Captivate.  I spent some time looking for the forum and the web but only found references using the forms menu in earlier versions.  What Miss me?

  Ray, free polygon and free forms are on the list. But for normal projects is available. Problem is that not all the form are visible under the large button shapes, you must choose one, then go to the properties panel to see more in this category. Space-saving, I agree.

• Draw a line?

  I'm really sorry to bother all of those of you with that.  Seems trivial, but is there a simple way to draw a line on the edge?  I could do it in photoshop easy, but workarounds are boring.  Use the tool in the box, but is not giving me the desired result.  I want a simple thin dotted line.  Tired using the tool text but again too much time creating a work around for the effect.  seems I can't draw an area smaller than x 4px 4px.  It goes the same for an ellipse.  What gives?

  First of all, thanks to the Adobe forums for the exceptional level

  information and assistance in the forums I frequent!

  I searched around, but could never quite figure out how to

  this: a "ball" or a circle moves on a map from City A to city B to C.

  etc.  As my small ball moving a nice 'on-line' traces on the map

  (a brush stroke?).

  I've seen tutorials on writing a signature, but those who come

  reveal what is already under (Ahron Stern, signature on the one hand,

  and another of Layers Magazine).  What is a good way to draw a line

  following just the ball as it moves on the map?

  I currently have four layers.  In the lower part is the card, then a

  solid black, with an opacity to about 45 or 50 percent.

  the layer on top of the solid is a bunch of points and names of cities (no here, just change opacity animation),

  points and the text are more corresponding to the names of cities on the map.

  The top most layer is the object (a small circle) I want

  move from town to town, with a line tracing the trajectory of the ball.

  I want that ball to move from one point to the other, following a path based on the routes on the map.

  As the ball moves, a line is drawn on the path along the road.

  I have checked around on it, but have yet to find a way to achieve this.

  Add another solid. Add a mask path that matches the path of your bouncing ball. You can do this just by selecting all the keys to position your ball layer, copy images, and then start a new mask at least 1 vertex on the new solid and paste.

  Now apply stroke on transparent and animate the end point or start point of the race. EZ as pie and a search on Google for "lively route tutorial evokes this video covers the basics." I took about 10 seconds for the scanner and it will show you how to draw a mask and animate a stroke.
