BIOS A02

Greetings;

I have the A01 bios on a laptop latitude given to me by my brother.  There are 2 latest versions available on the website of Dell, A03 and A14.  Or moved unless I have A02 on the laptop.  site is not A02 for download.  Should I worry about execution of A01?  Where could I get A02?

Thank you

What Latitude model? Follow the instructions here to update the (UEFI) BIOS:

http://dellwindowsreinstallationguide.com/UEFI/

I load using downloads.dell.com, which lists all versions.

I have not received my r2 of Alienware 17 2015 again, but after start to read a lot of post on several sites I found some information on the power supply 180w that comes with 15 and 17 2015 laptops.  That the power supply 180w is maybe not enough to supply the gpu and the cpu under huge loads (limitation).

I have found that you can ask a 240w or buy one for $140, eitherway if get you one, this cause of problems using a 240w with the new Bios A02 updated together... and will be the single 240w psu I can find on work of the Dell site with models of 2015 15/17r2?

Anyone knows these answers? Just trying to figure if I should just buy one instead of trying to deal with get a free, even though I agree with others like the GPU and CPU use 172w dependant max already... 180W seems a little power.

I also saw that the update of the BIOS A02 is powered from the battery, which I do not accept to be a difficulty, it's more like a band-aid.  Waiting to see if they can change and will send a 240w with my camera, but I'm not holding my breathe.

Sorry, but my question is with a 240w PSU substitute the update of the Bios A02 of the battery, or it will be battery?  I think it's going to be a battle to try to get one, so I just order one. Any thoughts on the subject would be appreciated.

    Salvation;

I just got a R2 with the 970M. Is limiting the 980 m as its mentioned in the Knowledge Base? Anyone who suffers a problem with the configuration below please advise. Thank you.

  • T1600 to upgrade the BIOS A02 should first ask A04, but which is no longer appears online

I looked at the support page - drivers and downloads to a Precision T1600 I'm working.

I had a few symptoms (keyboard USB not recognized during the boot/BIOS) this BIOS upgrades reports fix.

I downloaded the installer for BIOS A16, but when I run it refuses, saying that I first have to go to BIOS A04. Very well, except the 'older versions' under the BIOS of the support page for this model only go back to version 10. (I tried running A10 and stops with the same message too.)

Can I get a copy of the updater A04, to allow me to complete the update for these most recent available?

Too bad! I found that the older BIOS A04 is indeed still displayed, simply not accessible from the home page drivers & downloads for the T1600. I just googled "T1600 BIOS A04" (without using the Dell search box) and found a link immediately.

Because new versions of BIOS require A04 first, it would be nice if the drivers & downloads page offers a direct link to A04 without needing to do a google search that is external to this element of system requirements.

  • Update the bios of the DELL laptop under ubuntu

    Hi all.

    I have a dell inspiron N411Z (or N14z).

I installed portable ubuntu 12.04 as a single operating system on the computer. Current kernel is 3.2.0 - 30, gnome 3.4.2.

Are the details of my BIOS: A02 19/10/2011

I opened a session in the DELL support web page, and after giving my serial number, I was redirected to the following web page: http://www.dell.com/support/drivers/gr/en/grdhs1/ServiceTag/ maintain the label removed by privacy policy >

As you will see, there is a new update for my BIOS, namely A05 19/04/2012, however is a ".exe" file and therefore cannot be used with Microsoft windows operating systems.

I'd appreciate very much if you will guide me in the process step by step how to upgrade the BIOS of my laptop said, because the operating system is linux - ubuntu 12.04.

For your info, my laptop is certified ubuntu: http://www.ubuntu.com/certification/hardware/201106-8252/

    Thank you.

As I opened this thread, I'll you know how I managed to update my BIOS.

First of all, I think that since the update of the BIOS is a very sensitive issue (taking in mind that if something is wrong you can brick your laptop), the best way to do this is to follow the manufacturer's instructions exactly. Since there is no official record for the use of linux, it is advisable to use the .exe for windows file.

So, I managed to find a way to actually update my BIOS through windows without installing windows.

    What you need:

    (1) a 32 bit windows7 installation. On another PC or even install via Virtual Box. (In fact, I installed win7 via the virtual machine. I found the iso of win7 from google. I don't have not had to save windows as they give you a period of 30 days of grace and we have actually windows for 5 minutes).

    (2) a USB stick with at least 1 GB of space

    (3) the right bios.exe file that we get from the manufacturer's web page.

    (4) a specific dll file. In my case it was oledlg.dll.

    (5) a blank CD.

    Step 1.

We start windows and create us a rescue disk from windows7.

    Step 2.

Format us the USB drive in FAT32.  We copy and paste all the files within the USB rescue disk.

Let's open up command prompt and we follow the following sequence of commands to make the USB bootable:

DiskPart (it turns at the diskpart prompt)

listdisk (he will give the list of available disks)

Select disk 2 (you select the USB stick drive. In my case it was the No2. Be very careful during this step).

list partition (it lists the partitions on the usb key. It will be only 1 since we have just formatted it).

Select partition 1 (we choose the partition)

Active (make us active or bootable)

    Step 3

We open the USB and we create a file called BIOS. Inside this file, we put the bios.exe that we need, as well as the dll we need. In my case it was oledlg.dll. I found it here: http://www.dll-files.com/dllindex/dll-files.shtml?oledlg

    Step 4

We start the PC from the USB port. In case your PC doesn't have an option to boot from USB do via Plop Boot Manager CD.

Windows will start loading, you choose the language and you will get a window titled "system recovery options". Choose the first option «use of tools of recovery...» "and click Next.

On the new window that opens, choose the last option named "command prompt". The command prompt opens. Type the following commands pressing on enter after each one:

c: (it replaces the C, i.e. the drive usbstick letter guest).

BIOS CD (it changes in the BIOS file, we have created)

BIOS.exe (he runs the bios.exe file we downloaded from the manufacturer's website to update our BIOS).

I hope that the BIOS window will open and you just follow the options to update your Bios. In my case I had to restart twice. In this case must boot from USB as well the second time.

That's how I updated my BIOS of N14Z of Dell from A02 to A06.

    Notes:

-It is without saying that I take any responsibility in case something goes wrong with your laptop. I said just above how I did it in my laptop

-In case you have a friend who uses windows you can kindly ask him to use his computer for 5 minutes to create the rescue disk and the updated use the stick (without having to install windows on VB). I just had to mention the VB option to tell you how to do 100% on your own.

-Regarding the dll file: when I was experimenting with all the above, the first time that I actually run the bios.exe file in the command prompt I got an error message that the oledlg.dll is missing. So I found it via google, added even within the BIOS file and then the bios.exe work fine. In your case, it can ask another dll or dll. Act accordingly.

  • Studio XPS 9100 watch A04 BIOS date 10/21/2010

I flashed the BIOS A04 a few months ago and never paid much attetion to it. The flash said it was successful. But when I looked at the system properties, it gives the date of the BIOS as 21/10/2010; the BIOS was released 31/10/2011. Is this correct? It seems that the date is prior to BIOS A02.

I only run a bios update to solve a specific problem. If you went just A04 because it was newer, I wouldn't worry the thing the date. Now, if your correction of a specific problem, try reflashing A04. But understand, if the bios update fails, your motherboard is bricked.

  • E6510 - cannot update the BIOS

I need to update my Latitude E6510 BIOS patch A01.1 new. When I run the updater it starts, restart the portable computer but nothing happens. The BIOS is always on A01.  I can't launch the BIOS A02. Why does this work? Y at - it a way for the patch to work.

  • Help! Aurora R4 BIOS upgrade, post after reset CMOS

In preparation for the installation of my new GTX970, I decided to update the bios on my R4 Aurora. I started bios a02 and upgraded to a05. Restart the new bios could not find my HARD drive. I ran the software post-diag and checked everything very well, my HARD drive was in the list and was checked off as OK. My hypothesis was that something was wrong with the upgrade of the BIOS so I decided to reset and start again...

To reset the BIOS, I swapped the CMOS of 1-2 and 2-3 Horseman after 10 seconds. Now, when I try to start the screen is black and I get the error beep 5 (resettlement or replace the CMOS battery).

That's what I did to try to fix it until now:

    • Reinstall the CMOS battery
    • Pull the CMOS battery, sauter jump reset, then replace CMOS battery
    • Replace the dough CMOS (new battery)
    • Disconnect all components except for the video and the RAM, battery CMOS replace
    • Disconnect all components except for the video and 1 stick of Ram, reinstall the CMOS battery

After that each rider reset the pc starts to boot up, then after a few seconds will restart. When it restarts I'm stuck at a black screen and 5 beeps.

Update! I reinstalled everything once more and now I get video and there is no more than beep. But I'm stuck on the screen of the Intel Rapid Storage Technology technology and cannot continue.

I tried pressing f12 during the boot and could not enter the boot parameters.
By pressing the shortcut of on the intel RST screen does nothing.

Thank you all. It turns out that all I had to do was to change the hard drive in legacy mode and it starts fine.

  • IE 11 moved - no Service Pack

    Inspiron 1720
    Windows 7 Ultimate SP1, x 64
    Old BIOS, A02

Recent clean install as shown in natkuc4.

Tried to update IE 8 to 11. would not be done. Install "Hid" IE (in Progs and features) and retried without change; However, this time, when I "unhid" IE he showed that IE 11 - as if the installation was successful.

I then installed all components required with the same result.

Then I installed IE 9 without any problems. Even with IE 10.

Then retried IE 11. Just after oking the UAC popup I get the IE 11 popup message that

"Operating system is not supported." and I need to install Service Pack 1. System and Registry\CSD properties Version says he has the Service Pack installed; Why the installer can it see? Someone at - he seen this before?

BTW, this system led the evaluation HW 2 or 3 times going back a few months and the BIOS is
    old.

Thanks for the comments. The Service Pack has been a wild goose chase-do is not relevant at all. Actually the standalone installer 'phone home' to the required components, but since I already have install them manually, it climbs dloading IE 11/facility. Normally, it stopped at about 40%.

    Solution for me:

1 used the FORFILES command found in this post to remove playback incompatibility IE 11 in Progs and features:

    http://social.technet.Microsoft.com/forums/en-us/1ac87ad1-B775-4bcd-88dc-bc986087eff1/IE-10-installation-fails-neutral-package-installation-failed?Forum=ieitprocurrentver

2 used msconfig to prevent loading MS Security Essentials. While upward (msconfig), set up a clean boot with the deactivation of the services package. run the installation program (not in Admin mode) and successfully completed. Everything that Jake. Thanks again and sorry for the misleading.

    3. I had already run most / all the FixIt, SCTS-m et al. necessary but to do.

    BTW, sorry about the bad

  • New XPS 8700 - cannot properly set resolution

I have a new 8700 XPS with Radeon 7570, that has a DVI - D and HDMI port.  There is also a display port on the motherboard, but I don't have a monitor with a DisplayPort port, so that one is now useless for me; In addition, I want to use the Radeon, so I'm ignoring the video to the mobo.

I have a DVI-D-to-DVI-D cable, I was using on my old system, so I know that the cable is good.

I have a new cable HDMI-to-DVD-D who just today.

I want to drive a Dell 3007WFP (2560 x 1600, and its only entry is DVD - D) as my main screen.  Must it be connected to the HDMI port of the Radeon (via HDMI-DVI-D cable), or the DVI - D port (using the DVI-D-to-DVI-D cable)?

My second monitor is an old but a goodie - Dell (1920 x 1200) 2405WFP.  There D DVI or VGA as possible entries.

So I have a computer with HDMI and DVI - D cables to connect out for each monitor.

I currently work 2405 with the Radeon in 1920 x 1200 (as my secondary display) using the DVI - D - to - DVI - D cable, leaving the HDMI-DVI-D cable for the 3007.

My problem is that I can't drive the 3007 higher than 1280 x 800,-there is no option to keep the higher resolution.  The cursor I get under "Screen Resolution" only goes to '1280 x 800 (recommended) '.  I tried the two cables, and 1280 x 800 is as high as possible.  I reinstalled the Catalyst drivers.  Everything appears in OK (no yellow exclamation) Device Manager.

HOW can I DRIVE a MONITOR 2560-x-1600 OF THE RADEON HD 7570 IN CE XPS 8700?

    * EDIT * I forgot to mention that I got the car that came with 8 Win out and put in a new blank disc perfectly and installed Win 7 (64) business.  What is a driver-install-order problem?  Also, the machine came with BIOS A02 and A03 is common, but I don't see that as being the difference.

Solved.  It WAS apparently a driver-order problem.  "Drivers and downloads" page of Dell is spectacularly counterproductive in terms of describing what are the components (e.g., what they DO).    I took them in this order:

    01 Chipset_Intel_Win_A00_21Y1M_Setup_ZPE.exe

    02 ME_Intel_WIN_A00_Y22PK_setup_ZPE.exe

  • No start on Latitude E6440 screen when it is docked

    Hello

I have a problem with the E6440 Latitude. When moored and hooked up to two monitors (1 vga and 1 DVI) it does not show the splash screen.  When I remove the DVI monitor and restart the device the bootscreen is projection... somehow the VGA port is blocked or something.

In our society, we use Bitlocker to all mobile devices and without showing the bootscreen it is difficult for the user to type the password.

I have already installed al the latest drivers for the video and the version of the BIOS A02 (for the most recent date of Dell).

Is there someone of another simular with this problem? or Dell is working on a new version of BIOS...? I don't think I'm alone with this and that Windows displays both screens when it is started, I really think it's a problem/bug in the BIOS.

    Help, please.

  • Clean install of Windows 8 coming with the 0x8007025D error Code

    Hello

I bought a Windows 8 Pro upgrade for my system under Windows 7 Home Premium. I have a Dell Inspiron N5110.

I downloaded the upgrade Assistant Manager and he ran. Eager to do a clean install, I did an installation of Windows 8 ISO on a USB key.

I then upgraded my version of BIOS A02 to A11. (Successfully)

Now, I started the installation by booting from the USB drive. Eager to do a clean install, I had to format all disks and create new partitions.  After that the actual installation has started and he went on the fine up to 35% (Getting Ready files). After the 35%, I got an Error Message with the error Code: 0x8007025D.

I'm still stuck in the same situation. Since I formatted my whole hard drive, I don't have any BONE to return and that the files on the USB.

    Troubleshooting tried-

Tried to start installation from scratch. Did not work.
Delete all new partitions and tried again. Did not work.
Unplug all unnecessary devices. Did not work.

After reviewing various forums online, I think the groundwork here would be to recreate the installation drive (USB key). But since I formatted EVERYTHING, I can't launch Manager upgrade again on the same laptop.

Please suggest a work around as soon as possible.

    Thank you.
