  I use Firefox on 2 machines, one at home and one at work. I have updated all the two to 30 of Firefox.

  I have two laptops and both are running FF31 and W7. One of them works perfectly and the other is having this problem. As far as I can tell they are both defined by the same. The only difference is that when I upgraded to FF31 they both had difference older versions of FireFox. I also read in the help forum that maybe I need to go back to FireFox 28 to accomplish what I am trying to accomplish.

  I noticed that when I'm going under: config that the version of FF that does not work unless options compared to the version that works. An example would be that the working version has 'browser.tabs.onTop' where, on the other computer laptop is missing.

  You can override how the links are opened through the browser.link.open_newwindow.override preference.

I have the option "Open new windows in a new tab instead" together, I use the addon of Tree Style Tab 0.14.2012111201 (and other unrelated tabs or windows), and I have several profiles. It seems that since I started to use several profiles some programs (help of MediaMonkey, for instance) insist on opening a new window of Firefox. If I select one or several profiles currently open it says "Current usage profile". Some programs who want to open a website to view their help files open a tab in the current browser, as window expected and desired. But most programs cause choose it display a profile box.

  Make sure that you do not start Firefox with the - No.-remote switch or have defined the MOZ_NO_REMOTE = 1 environment variable (Control Panel > system > advanced > environment variables).

  If you need to have several open profiles at the same time then start the following instances with the - no - remote line switch.
  
  You can't send links from other programs to a Firefox instance that is started with the - non-interrupteur to distance.
  In this case, you must drag the links in a Firefox window or paste the link into the address bar.

  On the one hand, you cannot uninstall Safari.  It comes as part of the operating system.  So, I don't know what you've done or what you think you did, but this is not that.  Could you explain more by what you mean with "I get reimage opening in a new window?  You can post a screenshot of what happens?

  You can view the popups to your own custom Popup when there is no tilt bar or no border. But if you want to use System popup where it composed of all cross-border and title, then you can better use the scene as Popuping in your application.

• How can I change "open new window" tab behavior?

  I used to be a long time Firefox user and then switch to Chrome for a while. Come back now, and I notice some strangeness with tabs and "new windows". Can't understand how to work around.

  My "Home Page" is set up to open three tabs. A MSN, the second is my email, and the third is Google Calendar. It works fine, except...

  (1) if I choose 'New window' (Ctrl-N), it re-opens those same three tabs. When I open a new window, I don't want to reopen these three tabs. They are already open in the main window. How can I stop Firefox to do this? I can't find a way to get there.

  (2) the other door on the 'Home' button If I push the home button it loads all three of these tabs. In Chrome, there is another parameter for the 'home' vs the tabs start button. Is it possible to replicate this? Sometimes I hit the home button only to load MSN. I don't want all three of these tabs when I hit the home button. Any way around this?

  It is not possible.
  A new window opens to the home page (s), so you should set the home page to about: blank or create a bookmark to the defined location: virgins and hold the Shift key and left click to open this page in a new window.

  You can add these three pages to the command-line of the desktop shortcut to open the page when you start Firefox Firefox.

  I support an application that runs in Firefox on Ubuntu Linux 12.04. The computers used for this application are dedicated, not used for anything else.

  If users open another Firefox window, or through the desktop icon or ^ N Ctrl-N or file > new window and start another instance of the application, it makes a mess. So, I want to prevent new windows being opened. Also prevent the opening of new tabs, even if users are less likely to open another instance of the application in a tab.

  They do it (open multiple instances), by mistake, not unkindly.

  would be useful. But the 2nd prevention + launch by icon, click is also required.

  Would be nice if an admin could cancel it, even from the command line Linux or by changing a config file.

  You normally only get a new window if you press the SHIFT key when you click the Home button.

  You can middle click on a link or the Go button on the address bar to open the link in a new tab.
  
  You can also use Alt + Enter to open a link in the address bar in a new tab.
