  I tried and tried to set up my own domain mail server to receive e-mail. I even picked up the phone to Sprint and they tried, but we are unable to read incoming messages. Sending works fine.

  I think that I followed it to down to the fact that I use the mail server's 'pop' in the name if the Blackberry Internet Service thinks its an IMAP4 e-mail account, it is not. My server name is "mondomaine.fr", without mail or pop in front of the name. I can't understand how to change this setting advanced since the Blackberry or on the site of Sprint, even though I see the setting as IMAP4.

  It turns out that the firewall on my Blackberry settings were set to block all messages from BIS. I had removed the battery because of a condition of hanging a few months ago, and I guess that this reset that firewall setting. If I wasn't a geek, I never would have figured this out and Sprint and this forum was no help at all.

  Thought I'd know others where they have the same problem. You need to go to Options > Security Options > firewall > and look for the check mark next to Blackberry Internet Service and uncheck the box. Then save. E-mail started downhill a few minutes.

  I changed the theme on my BB 8830, but now whenever I click on the Options menu, it freezes and I have to type the end in order to be able to do anything.  It seems that other applications will be open, but the Options will not be so I can't change the theme of return.  I tried turning off and on again, but which did not help.  Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

  Try a traction battery for a soft reset: remove the battery from the device (while it's still on) for 10 to 20 seconds, then reinsert the battery.

  I am writing to my sister. She has a BB 8330... updated with the latest version of the software. Suddenly, we noticed that it is unable to recover photos by mms (she had previously). In fact, she is unable to retrieve an mms with only text. The message she received trying to extract an image is "could not retrieve the content of the message. Try again later. "It is spoken with support and they are confused and say they will come back to him. She is able to "send" mms text and mms to all images. And, of course, she has no problem with sms text messages. She tried "battery pull" several times. She is released all memory. It has a 8 GB memory (mass storage mode) with 6 GB free.   Tanzim thank you very much for your quick response.  No, phones who sent mms messages are an another BB 8330 and a Motorola razer.

  She contacted the 'Documents to go' people and they responded that she needed to download an older version and then she would be able to receive mms messages.  They have not themselves give instructions or links!  So, we wonder if she would like to download an older version... She would still have the premium version, she paid for.  I'll learn more and let you know.  The 'documents to go' people must have encountered this problem before.  Too bad, they don't tell people before they download it!

  I'm new to BlackBerry since my wife bought me a 9000 for Christmas. According to me, the phone has been unlocked in the O2 network and I am currently on vodaphone talk.    The problem is, I can't receive MMS messages. I talked to vodaphone and they said I need to contact RIM to solve, but I was hoping that one of you, friendly people here may be able to help me. Whenever I am sent a MMS it says 'could not retrieve the content of the message, try again later' but I've never been able to recover one.are it all the settings on the phone that I have to change? or is it because I'm on talk and I need to be on a contract? also, I can't connect to the internet with the browser, while the comings and goings, I could previously through my old phone on Vodafone talk. I can get on the net via my LAN wireless at home, but it's not really useful as there are two computers and an ipod touch should I have to go.

  Do you have a data Plan BlackBerry enabled on your account with your carrier or mobile provider?

  You need to get the data messages MMS, browser internet and much more.

  Then call your carrier and you learn about to have added to your account BlackBerry data Plan.

  I have a Blackberry 9500 Storm locked to Vodafone and recently bought an unlock code on Ebay to use on my Orange sim card.  After having followed the steps to unlocking the phone accepted the orange sim and shows "safety".  But I can't use the phone to make and receive calls and texts.  I checked network settings and they show in orange.  I contacted the ebay seller, but they just said SIM active check - that it is.  Anyone got the answer?

  I tried another sim Orange and the same problem - two sims work fine in other phones btw.

  cud u Plug n unplug headphones da a bunch uf times n see if it unjams everything that could be blocking up. or u cud use some shot of air compressed canned 2 da output jack. It might b fixable using 1 uf da methods above, or it might b broken inside and not repairable.

  I just installed Desktop Manager 5.0 and connected to my BB 8830.  I use Outlook Express 2000 for the calendar and I want to sync it with my BB 8330.  However, in Desktop Manager under Sync / Config / select the device for the calendar, the only choices are Yahoo and text import/export.  Of course, it does not recognize Outlook Express 2000 as a calendar program.  Does anyone have a solution?

  I bought this 8830 mainly to sync its calendar with my Outlook Express calendar.  If this does not work, then I'll go back to my cell phone operator.

  I installed Desktop Manager 4.1 and it works now.  Be aware with this version, once you connect your BB to your computer, unless you go through the Wizard Windows Found New Hardware, Desktop Manager does not recognize the connection with your BB and your computer (I don't have to do with version 5.0).

  RIM should be more attentive to people with a recent phone, but still using an earlier version of Microsoft Outlook / office.

I checked to make sure that this contact is not blocked.  I thought that maybe it was a problem of carrier, but I recently changed property & t, sprint and iPhone 4s to a 6 s iPhone and this problem followed me across from media/devices.  I have this problem with a particular contact, and there seems to be a problem with my apple account.  This problem is happening constantly for more than a year. Any ideas what could be going wrong?

  Your Apple account has nothing to do with sending MMS message, which is a feature of the carrier.

  If you encounter a problem with an individual then maybe the problem is on their side, have what troubleshooting they done?
