BlackBerry browser default 'downloads' screen-Z10 Z10

Hello world

I went to a Z10 to a Bold 9780 last week.  So far, the experience has been fantastic, with one major complaint.  The browser frequently default a weird screen "downloads" when I try to open a web page.  This always happens when I try to go on You Tube (never managed to open it successfully), as well as flickr, many news Web sites and a few others.  This screen has a blue bar at the top, with the "downloads", with a 'Cancel' at the peft and a 'Save' option to the right.  Below, it lists two files of size of 1 KB each.  Both have the same name: "operation-page - 1_under15.wml.

Can someone explain what this means and how can I fix my browser so I can actually visit the web pages, I want to see?  I use the latest version of the software.

Thanks for all suggestions,

MP

Hello world

Just to tie this place for someone else who has the same problem and is on this page:

After several weeks of frustration I finally discovered that there was a problem with my service provider (Vodafone Ireland) - a customer service representative Vodafone told me that Vodafone has a limit on the web access default on new accounts of smartphone, visitors to 'opt-out' when creating their account (it's a security thing to ensure people run cost data crazy unintentionally and also to protect minors) (or parents who pay their phone bills). Normally, the representative of the company who sets up the account will do this automatically (that is, it gives comprehensive web client access) at the time of registration or at the very least they will ask again customer if they want to access the web on their phone.  They just forgot to do in my case.

Once the problem has been identified, I had it set by Vodafone in a matter of seconds. So, if anyone else has this problem, start with your first service provider!

PS my Z10 bitch s great, I love it love it!

  • Z30 Z30 blackBerry browser chewing GBs Data Mobile both

    At my Z30 for about a week. Checked the mobile data this morning and it is around 250 MB.

    Before my departure, I have linked to an IP camera and went full screen using the browser not FLASH. (Camera IP android) I then closed the browser completely

    I got in my car and used cards to send me to a destination of 35 minutes.  On the way, I received an alert that I had chewed up to 75% of my mobile data plan. At the time that I arrived at my destination I had chewed around a go. I disabled the Mobile Data. Removed from the browser history and restarted the phone. In no time at all she consumed on another 600 MB.

    In its current form the browser used 2.3 GB then PIM Services 102.7 MB followed Facebook to 22,4 MB. Outside emails, I don't usually use a large part of my Mobile Data.

    He had not exhausted all the data over WIFI.

    I stop the bleeding? Don't want to pay for ove GB GB of mobile data for nothing!

    That's right, it's a security camera running on an old android phone. The camera application: http://download.cnet.com/IP-Webcam/3000-2139_4-75616533.html

    I understand that when you are connected to the camera via my Blackberry browser I consume data. I can adjust the quality of streaming on the client to increase or decrease the quality.

    The camera application supports java / flash / mpeg and HTML 5.

    The problem is that the streaming continues to chew data once the browser has been closed, not only reduced to a minimum in the background. Even after I deleted the browser history and restarted the phone, he continued to chew data.

    I was able to reproduce the problem. If I connect to the camera and try you run the java applet, I get an error message that the media is not compatible and cannot be played. When I select BROWSER/HTML5 video stream starts and continues even after the browser is closed.

    If I go directly to HTML5, everything works fine.

    I suspect bad or incompatible code between the camera application and the blackberry browser.

    Now using the app CAM TINY and everything works fine.

    Cost me $30 data to learn my lesson...

    Thanks for your comments

    What I was doing to completely wipe my BB. I wrote this before and it printed.

    If your device does not work, perform a backup now if you have not already done save the file to a place and a name that you can easily locate it on computer.

    I then uninstalled DTM and then deleted all the other references to BB/Rim in Windows Explorer, thus eliminating the operating system for the BB to the computer in order to ensure that the version I want to reinstall a new version uploaded.

    Get the latest Desk Top software DTS)
    http://us.BlackBerry.com/apps-software/desktop/?CPID=OTC-DSKTPSW&CP=OTC-DSKTPSW

    and install it on the computer.

    Get the latest version of the operating system

    http://us.BlackBerry.com/support/downloads/download_sites.jsp

    and save it on computer.

    If the PC does not recognize the BB, you connect via the USB cable. Then remove the battery from the BB.
    With the battery pulled, connect the BlackBerry to the USB connector, and as SOON as you see USB - PIN: UNKNOWN, click Next. You must be quick. From there, you can put the battery in (make sure that you install the battery or else when completed the update of the OS and the device disconnects from the computer to restart, it will lose the power supplied by the USB connection and you will get an error and have to start all over again!).

    If you don't get it right the first time, try again (debrancher unplug the USB, remove battery, connect and click next while USB - PIN: unknown shows). You must be quick and the timing is key, so it may take you three or four attempts.

    To erase all data on your BlackBerry device, follow these steps.

    (1) download JL_Cmder http://www.4shared.com/get/oqP9V-2Q/JL_Cmder_v19.html

    (2) install JL_Cmder to the computer.

    (3) double check you have already saved the BB. If you DO NOT, you will lose all data.

    (4) make sure that DTS is closed and plug in the BB to the computer via USB

    (5) to reach the JL_Cmder on your computer and double-click it to start. Now, it may take a few tries to connect, so persevering until he does.

    (6) on the first screen, press a key to continue.

    (7) now, if your device uses a password, enter it now. If not, press "N".

    8) press 4 to start CLEANING

    (9) press on 'Y' to continue

    (10) now type "blackberry" to continue

    (11) on the BB, you see a white screen with an error "507". Don't worry, that's what you want! You are now ready to install the operating system.

    Launch the new Desk Top software on the computer

    (1) on the homescreen of the BlackBerry® Desktop Software, click Device > update my device.

    (2) click on view the other Versions. Click the version of the new OS you previously downloaded.

    (3) click on install. The DTM will install the OS and then provide you with a list of applications to install. If you have had problems with an application, do not install it.

    Do not disconnect the device until the whole process is finished and restarted the device.

    After 10 minutes, restart again by removing the battery slot while tension and leave for a few minutes.

    Leave it again for 10 minutes. You should now have a fully functional BB!

  • BlackBerry browser google smartphones in ' go to ' option displays blank page loading.

    Hello, I am a newbie in the world of blackberry. I just got my friends, the Bold 9700 for my engagement present. I use it for a form of the week. I am Malaysian and I use the DiGi carrier. At first, everything goes smoothly, web browsing is excellent. I downloaded a few great application mainly form mobile google, such as google maps, google mobile and gmail.

    the last 2 days, I have a problem with the web browser. When I tried to look for something using the blackberry browser in the option "go to." I often encounter the blank page, especially those who use the option of google browser. When I turn to yahoo, the browser works well. The white screen also happen when I tried to type a web address like wikipedia.org and so on. The blank page still occur. About the "white page", the loading screen appears when complete loading, the display leave only space. left was only the scroll bar down on the left.

    I tried to solve why it was going on, the google browser in the option "go to" can work when I change the "encoding". I tried encoding, and I found one working (partially). Initially the encoding was auto and shows the ISO-8859-1. the work of encoding is ISO-2202-CN. Google has worked, but the web address bar meet the "white screen" problem

    I called the customer Service of my operator, DiGi. They guide me to solve the problem. Traction on the methods of battery, change of TCP/IP in advanced option, the activation of the APN setting. And the last option the guide was the "cloth of security." I did the back to the top of my data. After followed all the instructions, I still have the problem. Worse, I tried to download the google app again after the wipe 'security' the said seeing my phone number was invalid.

    I can't understand what is happening with my phone. At the beginning I had on the phone, I was really excited and impress with blackberry. After that things happen, I'm very disappointed. Is there someone out there who could help me?  I love my blackberry...

    Kind regards

    latifnoh

    Hi, I solved my problem. It is not the browser connection, his concerns setting up the blackberry, the might of the OS. I called several times (my carrier DiGi) and the solution was not there either. so the I thing this must be my BB is the problem, then I send it back for warranty service and what they're - format the OS.

    I'll be just mine yesterday and everythings back to normal. Everything inside seems a new one, as a new BB haha... Thanks be to God.

    He hopes to help! HAPPY!

  • Field of browser not download image resource, rather attempts to download favicon.ico

    Hey,.

    I have an application using browser field to display a web page on my server. The web page contains a picture 1 x 1 pixel, as a follow-up to bacon. I found field browser never download this bacon. I put a breakpoint on getResource() and found a resource to go on my server and try to download favicon.ico. Basically I returns null instead, and never reached my 1 x 1 pixel.

    Can any expert help me on that? It is very essential for my application.

    Thanks in advance.

    It is the expected behavior.  As part of the optimization process, the BlackBerry browser will ignore (not load) extremely small images that would not be visible to the user.

  • BlackBerry browser not considered handheld?

    I'm developing a simple asp.net web application for BlackBerry that I also want to use the world "PC."  The key is, if it's a BlackBerry browser, I want to use small fonts.  If it is a PC version, I want to use larger fonts.  This seems to be a job for CSS with indicators of media.  I tried all sorts of things, and the BB browser does not appear to the application as a pocket computer.  Then, is another way, other than media indicator to determine?  Or y at - it a way to get the BB to present itself as a handheld computer?

    I'm hand-coding this app.  I have the free version of VS installed, and the Widgets BB app will not work with it.  I don't have the money to spend on a full version of VS right now, so I stick with hand coding.

    I am certain - that of a 'child' about CSS and how it works, so if anyone can 'hold my hand' on it, I'd be happy.

    Thank you

    Jesse

    BlackBerry screens have a very high resolution compared to PC screens (e.g. storm is 184 dpi) in order to select the appropriate font is to use the 'min-resolution' media selector, for example

    body, html
    {
        font-size: [whatever is appropriate for PC];
    }

    @media all and (min-resolution: 175dpi)
    {
        body, html
        {
            font-size: [whatever is appropriate for BlackBerry];
        }
    }

    Either way, you specify the sizes of fonts using pt or px? The reason I ask is that if you use px, then you will find on devices with very high resolution you actually use a larger font than on the PC, if you want it to be readable.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones Yellow Pages - how to get back my blackberry browser

    Hello

    For some reason any my Blackberry (9000 with Telstra 3 G Australia) when I clicked on the Internet browser is now default Yellow Pages he used will be defined on the Blackberry browser option. With this Blackberry connection it detects my network domestic wi - fi and use wi - fi before using the Blackberry internet browser option.

    I see that the wi - fi option is set to automatic and that it has detected my home wi - fi, but it connects to him when I press on the Web browser. It seems to go directly to this Yellow Pages browser option.

    My browser has NOW the following

    * Hotspot Login

    * Yellow pages

    * Telstra business portal

    It USED to have

    * Hotspot Login

    * Blackberry (something or rather)

    * Telstra business portal

    I want to know is how to fix my Blackberry browser the option back and get rid of this thing of yellow pages?

    Thank you

    HiOzBBerry42

    I spent all day until now talk to Telstra who weren't able to help me, they put me in support of the RIM. I just got on a conference call with RIM and Telstra.

    Apparently, Telstra did change the name of the browser to the Yellow Pages with mobile. yellow pages as home page. Telstra work with RIM to find how to change the name of the browser Internet browser. Phew... what a day.

    Now, we should just work if the change that Telstra has decided to do is also the cause of why my "BOLD" will pick up my house WI-FI, but does not connect to the to use when I go in the browser (as it usually don't do any problems before they changed the name).

    Make sure that your browser is set to BlackBerry browser, then simply download the theme.  It will be installed automatically.  To ensure that you are using the BlackBerry browser, go to your browser, press the BB menu key and select Options.  Access browser Configuration and select Internet browser at the top, then set it to the Identification of the BlackBerry browser.

    This should help!

    I would like to know if this still doesn't work and provide more information on the specific problem.
