BlackBerry component Pack Eclipse

How can I get the pack of JDE component for less than 5 for my Eclipse versions.
I saw this https://developer.blackberry.com/java/download/#eclipse, but I need the JDE 4.3.x

lower 4.5 versions are not available on the site to update.
for 4.3, you will need to compile it using the legacy JDE.
You can still write code in eclipse, but you will need to add the class to a JDE project.

  • Is a component Pack for versions prior to version 4.3 available for Eclipse?

In the related web page in the site of Blackberry of Eclipse, the oldest component pack is 4.3. Is there a way I can run a simulator device with version 4.1 software? I guess that this would require a component for eclipse pack which is for 4.1. If this is the case, is there such a version?

    Help, please.

    I found the answer.

Eclipse plugin does not support the versions prior to version 4.3.

  • Plugin eclipse JDE only offers not anywhere what component pack

    Hello

I installed the JDE 'net.rim.eide_1.0.0.67' eclipse plugin and component pack "net.rim.eide.componentpack4.7.0_4.7.0.46".

I installed the Inc. using the ZIP of the eclipse install mechanism.

When I check the installed Plugins both are listed in the installed plugins.

But when I go into the preferences of BlackBerry / installed components are not in the drop-down list.

    What I did wrong?

How to get the componet in the drop-down list of installed components?

Thanks for your reply. I solved the problem by reinstalling the eclipse. I think I broke my eclipse installation by removing the plugins manually installation of eclipse.

  • error downloading component pack via Eclipse

    Hello

I am currently using 4.6.0 under Eclipse.

I tried to download the component Pack 5.0.0.14 via Eclipse Software Update, but the process stops, and a window appears with the following text:

An error occurred collecting elements to install

Any idea of what the problem is?

What a BB server problem or did, I forgot something?

    Hello

Just to let you know that my problem disappeared when I upgraded to Eclipse (from 3.4 to 3.5).

Seems the Blackberry Pack repository is not so compatible with previous versions of the eclipse...

  • Problems with Eclipse 4.2.1.17 JDE component Pack

I recently installed the Eclipse component on a job pack 4.2.1.17 existing Eclipse with Blackberry JDE environment.

Hopefully, I can build and run my application:

one) about Eclipse with 4.3 to 4.7 component packs

    (b) on the BlackBerry JDE 4.2.1.41

However, when I try to compile my app on Eclipse with a configuration for 4.2.1.17 I get many build errors. For example

    "The TextField() constructor is undefined.

I spent 4 hours to reconcile the various project settings and working space between a work and version 4.2 configuration broken and do not see a difference. The only thing I noticed is that, during the exploration of the net_rim_api.jar with the package Explorer, the jar for versions of work has a constructor defined for TextField() and for version 4.2 broken there is not a defined constructor. My understanding of Java is that the compiler should not guard on this subject and decided in this case to the implicit Field() the super class constructor. This seems to be the case for the BlackBerry JDE 4.2.1.41.

    Clearly, Miss something.

Has anyone successfully built with 4.2.1.17 on Eclipse?

Anyone have any suggestions for things to check or do to make this work? I would like all my development exclusively to Eclipse and this problem prevents me to do.

Same problem on thread later described at: http://supportforums.blackberry.com/rim/board/message?board.id=java_dev&thread.id=49686&view=by_date...

Seems that I used an API not documented by mistake and it worked in new versions. Comment by wire above the RIM rep suggests not using undocumented APIs.

  • Upgraded Version of the BlackBerry JDE component Pack

Assuming that you have downloaded the version of the plugin eclipse the 4.6 component pack, you should simply be able to download it in eclipse using the usual tools of upgrade.

    Then...

Software updates-> add the Site-> Archive

And navigate to the zip file.

You can also download a stand-alone version of the Pack of component which is not designed to be used with eclipse (so far as I know).

  • Component Pack 5.0 exist?

May be a silly question, but here goes:

Is there (or will there be) a for OS 5.0 JDE component pack?  And if what we should integrate existing simulators 5.0 with Eclipse?

    http://NA.BlackBerry.com/eng/developers/devbetasoftware/JavaPlugin.jsp

If you go at the bottom of this page, it has the Site update Eclipse so that you reach component Pack 5.0. You need Eclipse 3.5 for this to work.

  • How to specify the JRE (component Pack)

When I created my project, he asked me what JRE to use and I said 4.6.  Now, I want to change to 4.5 (and change to my taste and so forth).  When I go to "Windows-> preferences-> Java-> Installed JREs", I can see all the components, as I should, and I can choose what I want, which makes it the default for newly created projects.  When I right click on my project and go to 'Properties-> Blackberry project-> View/Edit Application Descriptor', there are all my JREs (and so I guess these are the component packs) under the heading "Preprocessor Directives", which doesn't seem to have anything to do with JRE or component.  In addition, they are all greyed out and I can't select another than one marked 'BlackBerrySDK4.6.0', even if I can see all others grayed.

I'm in the right place to change the JRE/component Pack I want to build for and, if so, how do the selections not gray?

Or, if not, is there a file I can edit somewhere that tells what JRE to use Eclipse/Blackberry?

    Thank you

    Allen

You should see JRE System Library in your project in your package Explorer.

Right-click it, and then click Properties to change your target OS.

The preprocessor directives change each time you change the JRE to use preprocessor to strip the code that is not compatible with a certain operating system.

  • Component Pack 6.0

How can I change my component pack in eclipse galileo?

I had update pack 6.0 component, but I don't know how to change

Click with the right button on the project, choose Properties, Java Build Path, libraries, then select "JRE System Library" and choose the editing command. You should see a drop of water in which you can select the component pack you want.

Note also that this does not automatically change the Simulator. You must go to the Simulator and choose JRE, then Alternative JRE, then in the menu drop down choose which component Pack you want (as long as the Simulator supports this component pack and you have it installed).

  • Problem with string to Long in Blackberry JDE and Eclipse w / Blackberry plugin

I'm trying to convery a string to a long use in a persistent store.  I'm following the doc of Blackberry on the process.  When I type the chain and right click on "Convert String to Long" is gray in Eclipse and the BB JDE.

     applepie

      String key = new string ("applepie");

      String key = "applepie";

those are the means I m try in both environments.

    What I am doing wrong?

    There must be something simple.

I'm probably not see the forest because of the trees.

    You must select this channel.

first select the channel using the mouse (as when we do to cut or copy)

After that right-click on this channel.

  • Dependency problem with the new Blackberry Plugin for Eclipse

I just encountered a problem with the new version of the JDE Eclipse Plugin. I set up my application project so that it uses two other projects such as libraries. Both of these projects are on the way to build Java in the settings of the application project, and the manufacturer Eclipse compiles without errors.

But when I try to run on the Simulator, the application loader throws an Exception stating that it could not find one of the classes listed in library projects. Since it is the importation of first class in the main class, I guess that it was unable to find the entire library.

I tried to have the application project to import the project two library, but nothing alx files has changed.

In the old version of the Plugin, there is a property of the project "Blackberry project dependencies" or something like that, which should be set for library and rapc.exe projects and the simulator would be their. That went away, and I was told during Devcon now suffice to add libraries to the classpath. Apparently, this is not so for me.

Can you give me an indication of what goes wrong?

The problem seems to be that I imported my projects since the previous version of Eclipse plug-ins, Blackberry. I have now created a new workspace and new projects, completely maintaining the source files, and it works.

  • Update Blackberry 6 on eclipse

I am trying to upgrade my BB SDK Eclipse also adding 6 JDE, following the instructions on the following link:

    http://us.BlackBerry.com/developers/javaappdev/javaupdate.jsp

But it does not show the upgrade for 6 JDE. It shows only upgrades for versions 5.0 and earlier.

Can someone tell what is wrong?

    Thanks in advance...

I think in the lead are discussions on this topic. You can download the full installer and copying install jre6 to your existing, for example.

  • BlackBerry missing in Eclipse project type

I ran the installation to get the site components for Blackberry dev. I had some options display for Blackberry, but now they are gone. The only thing I know that I did was to install the SVN client and simulators. If I look at the installed components it shows Blackberry being installed. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling, but it doesn't work. I'm obviously not an expert with Eclipse (really hate him and chose Netbeans for other Java worked in the past), but seems there must be something stupid miss me to do the things to see the upward. I tried to have a new clean folder for Eclipse and try it all again, but seems it must be some sort of registry entries or some common place looking for files as it says components Blackberry are already installed.

    Any advice would be appreciated.

This is what I've done and things work. I removed the extract Eclipse, I had. I downloaded the complete installation of the RIM and had him install Eclipse as well. At least now I see the project types. When I shoot a project on google code I'm working, then I get another error, now to try to ensure that updates are done (list has nothing so I'll use the VM version to rebuild the list). Did I mention I didn't like Eclipse, the IDE should not be this difficult to work with, but what do you expect for free .

I guess I should have mentioned that eclipse started without problem before the blackberrry plugin has been installed.

Google and found a recommendation to drop the eclipse.ini and restart eclipse.  Eclipse started without problem.
