BlackBerry Curve 3 G guard smartphones delete my txt messages...

Hi all
I have the Curve 9300 3, running on the OS 6 (6.0.0.600, platform 6.6.0.223)
The appliance is automatically delete messages after a few feeks, from the oldest (they last about 1 month they are deleted..)
I tried to look for a "how long to save messages" option in the device and could not find a... It says in the manual of the device and the device Help\Search even he know:
Home-> messages-> options-> display messages and Actions , but this subcategory option does not appear on my device message options (I Googled it and also ppl said they don't find this option on their 3 G curve...)
Optionally, messages, I have this subcategories:
General text messaging options, text SMS, MMS and in none of them, it is an option about how long keep txt messages...

* Cleaning memory is disabled
* Also in some searches in google ppl said free bit of memory. It is not the problem... I have 70 MB of free space on the device and 7 GB free in my memory card... my BB is new... only 2 months old

So where can I configure the settings of the device regarding backup my messages?
Thank you

If you read my post carefully, you can see that I know that... I wrote in my post..

I found out why I don't see this menu: display messages and Actions, there is a bug in the OS 6 with my BB or just with curve 3G I don't know... other people reported my problem as well

When I go in the options of the messages, it don't you this submenues:

Actions and messages display

Inbox management

Email management account

Spell check

Text messaging

After going to the message options, it goes directly to text messaging... and does not show these 5 menus

and because of this bug, I can't even find 'Actions and the message' to the General search of the device...

the solution:

See call logs, then select one of the call logs, press the 'home' button and select options

then you see the 5 sub-categories\menues with the display of messages and Actions, among them, go inside and there, you can select the option of how long to keep messages

took me time to play with the device to find this bug of shit and find another way to get this display of messages and Actions...

hope it help others with this bug in the operating system

  • BlackBerry Curve 8330 Pandora disorder smartphones

I have a Blackberry Curve 8330 on Metro PCS, and I can't seem to connect to pandora. I changed the permissions of the application to ALLOW, I have checked the firewall, I did everything, but it still does not work. I get the error message: "Could not connect to Pandora. Please check that you have sufficient network coverage and try again. "

problem is that I had full bars. I can't understand what is the problem...

Please help me, I want to solve this problem as soon as possible.

    Ok thank you.

For Pandora, it's been a while since I used it (I switched to Slacker... much better for my needs!). I know that they have been updated and others... that you have made sure to be on the latest version (via AppWorld updates)?

YouTube - m.youtube.com? For media formats supported, see this KB:

    http://www.BlackBerry.com/BTSC/search.do?cmd=displayKC&docType=kc&externalId=KB05482

I also heard of a few people to clear up YouTube issues using the application of the add-on to YouTube which is available via AppWorld. I don't know if it is available for your camera model, but it might be worth it.

    Good luck!

  • BlackBerry Curve 9330 replacement LCD smartphones

Long story short - my new blackberry 9330 curve takes a faceplant on the course of Longboard pavement about 30 mph so making it almost completely useless.

I thought that all that was done was the apparent defects so I ordered a new cover of LCD, case, bezel etc, but just my luck the LCD turns off on it today! I am struggling pay $100 and sprint send me a new or try and fix it myself or not.

only problem is that I can't find ANY LCD for 9300/9330 online. Anyone know where I can order an or maybe another template will fit for my phone? I really like this phone!

When you are looking for, you are looking for BlackBerry Curve 9300/9330 or looking for BlackBerry Curve 3 G?  If you have not tried the Curve 3 G yet, try it.  The challenge may be because this is the new model, parts may simply not yet be readily available.  In this case, it may be useful to contact some of the companies that offer these services, they are able to find you one anyway.

  • Update blackBerry curve 5.0 Wireless Smartphones blackberry 8520

I talked to the trash at 02 cs who told me it is not possible to update wireless your operating system on a bb curve 8520. y at - he says someone here who can help me with some info please.

I ALWAYS suggest that do you so via a wired connection to your PC and the BlackBerry Desktop Software.

See the link below to download it and follow these simple instructions.

First find your operator and the system operating file that you want to use.
    http://NA.BlackBerry.com/eng/support/downloads/download_sites.jsp

Make a backup of your device first, using Desktop Manager > backup. Close the office at the end Manager.

    1. download the OS files to the PC then install on the PC by running (double click) the downloaded file.
    2. go in c:\program files Research in motion\apploader and delete the file named "vendor.xml."
    3. plug in the BB and double-click on "Loader.exe." It is located in the same place as the above vendor.xml file.

  • Just bought blackBerry Blackberry Curve of 9380 of Smartphones upgrade to OS 7.1

Hi, I'm just India had a 9380 BB curve. But his got OS7. I was told that it can be upgraded to OS 7.1, which has many new features, such as FM Radio Mobile Hotspot, Wifi calling, bbm 6.1, faster browser, Smart Tag update, but every time I open my desktop software and connect my phone to my laptop to see if the update available it just don't show me any update.

Please send me the link to upgrade my curve 9380 bb OS 7.1

    Thank you

    1. There will be a 'Work' FM Radio with surf Station free for use with frequency channels Indian on the handset

OR is he had to pay fees for the use of data?

I have no idea... I saw no such capacity for it. Your specific model BB would already have a FM radio receiver inside to make it work. No amount of software can overcome a missing radio receiver. I have no idea if your of who has or not. I saw most of the functions 'radio' for BBs are internet-streaming "radio" rather than true radio broadcast reception.

    ravindersound wrote:

    2. based on my knowledge FM Radio works on different frequencies... I do the new hardware updates for my Curve 9380?

I have no idea... I honestly see nothing whatsoever on the real radio FM for a BlackBerry (I don't watch very many commercials).

    ravindersound wrote:

    3. the "Mobile Hotspot" will work with the Curve 9380?

I do not know. Some carriers block this feature, others allow. Everyone chooses what they allow and prohibit.

    ravindersound wrote:

    4. How does the Wifi calling?

This is part of the UMA services, supporting some carriers and others do not. If supported, then the carrier must face to the internet a gateway server that accepts their BBs intellectual property transactions and converting to voice on its system of voice services. So the BB will connect to this gateway through IP and the carrier and then the BB to the network voice through this gateway of the interfaces. Not all companies will support UMA.

    Good luck!

But still, its mobile network status light to go green - yellow all the time, this event it to freely use his BB Messenger. Kept by disconnecting

    Help, please?

    Thank you.

    Welcome to the forums

    Try a battery pull first:
    1. remove the battery while the phone is turned on
    2. wait a few seconds before inserting it again
    3. wait for the long end of the boot process (takes a few minutes usually)

This clears most of the software problems that occur on the BlackBerry from time to time. You can also use Quickpull, a free application that simulates a battery pull without removing the battery: http://software.crackberry.com/product.asp?id=27660
A battery pull gets lost when using the applications memory and clears minor software errors that creep over time. The blackberry is running an operating system just like your PC is running windows and battery pull is the equivalent of a reboot / restart your computer.

You can also save the device by going to Options > Advanced Options > host Routing Table, click on the button menu/blackberry and 'sign up now '.

Also try to send service directories to the phone by:
1 connection to the site of the BIS of your operator (where you installed your email)
    2. go in directories of Service, then click on "send Service books".

    Post back with your results.

  • BlackBerry Curve 8520 App World smartphone never loads

I recently added a far East language pack to my BB. After that, App World Watch just 'loading' all the time without ever being charged, even after hours of waiting...

I even removed the battery and restarted the machine without resolving the issue. Any help is appreciated.

Hello and welcome to the community!

I suggest the following, in order, even if they seem redundant to what you have already tried (steps 1 and 2, each should result in a message to your BB to come...) Please wait for this before moving on to the next step):

    (1) registry HRT

    • KB00510 How to register a BlackBerry smartphone with wireless network

    (2) remove and return Service directories

    • KB05000 Remove the maintenance book for the BlackBerry Internet Service email account in the BlackBerry smartphone
    • KB02830 Send the directories for the BlackBerry Internet Service

    (3) restart to take batt

    • Each time a random strange behavior or slow creeps, the first thing to do is a battery pop reboot. With power ON, remove the hood back and remove the battery. Wait a minute, then replace the battery and cover. Power on and wait patiently through the long reboot - about 5 minutes. See if things return to functioning. Like all computing devices, BB suffers from memory leaks and others... with a hard reboot is the best remedy.

I hope that will move things again for you! If this isn't the case, then you should contact your provider of wireless services for formal support.

    Good luck!

  • Sprint blackBerry Curve 8530 - EVDO Rev Smartphones has?

I see conflicting information on the web...

Some sites say the 8530 has EVDO Rev 0, others say EVDO Rev A.

Is Blackberry anyone can confirm what version of EVDO is supported for this phone?

    Thank you!

    Thanks for the tip.

I talked to the (chat) somone in the Sprint and also met with the Blackberry technical support.

The answer I got back was it's Rev A, but the Blackberry person said "I think it's Rev" and call Sprint tech support and gave me a number of votes to call.

I called and talked to someone at Sprint technical support.  He looked at for 1/2 hour but can't find an answer.  I enjoyed telling him simply that he did not know.

So, I went to the local Verizon store.

The person in the store pulled up on the info on the computer.

    He said Rev 0.

I thought that maybe there was a typing error, because the curve and the Tower otherwise have very similar characteristics.  Same processor clocked at the same speed, the same amount of ROM and RAM.

So, I decided to test the Tour vs Curve 8530.

(Google "blackberry speed test" to find the app)

The curve had 46 kbps maximum.

    A sheer tour 284 kbit/s.

Thus, at least for Verizon, the 8530 isn't Rev.

This should not really at all unless you tie (which I do).

  • New Verizon blackBerry curve 8330 browser missing Smartphones

    Hello

This may seem s stupid question, so my apologies.  I just activated my new (well old, but new to me) Verizon Curve 8330 and it doesn't have a browser app.  I tried to go to the Opera to send me a download link, but even with that I can't get my phone to go to it.  I have run a security wipe before I activated it.  I can't find a browser to download on my computer to install via Desktop Manager either.  What Miss me?

    Thank you

Hi and welcome to the forums!

Are you sure that your data plan is in place? How have you activated it?

Try this: in the home screen, go to the connection icon, click it.

and go to the status of the service, click, touch menu, select diagnostic test, select

run. During the test on the phone your data access will be reviewed and

a registration request will be sent. Once the test is complete, you can read the categories

and see if a pin test worked, and registration request has been sent successfully.

If the test fails I would call the carrier and have them check you are considering.

If the test is successful they what follows:

Go to options / advanced options, host Routing Tables, click to enter. DO NOT CLICK on any list.
Press the menu key and select sign up now.
You will receive a verification email. Then go to email settings and send service directories.
You will receive a confirmation of installation for each e-mail account.

Once this done, do a battery pull to reset the unit.

    Let us know now!

  • BlackBerry Curve 8330 - OTA update, smartphones now says roll back java and turns on

So, I am sure that my phone is fried - through the wireless software update my phone told me to download Blackberry yesterday.

Small update icon appears on the screen telling me that there is an upgrade of the QSR software so I say to download on-line.  About half an hour later, my phone Flash and comes with a quick screen that says "roll back java" with a status bar that remains at 99% and then power cycles and did the same thing.  I had to take the battery out - is the power cycling every minute at least.  It won't do anything else, and it does not recognize my blackberry desktop software.  I left the battery during the night so the cycling power does not drain the battery and when I put the battery back inside, just going to go back to his small msg Java and bike power.

Any ideas?  I'll take it to Telus later today.  I guess that he should be sent to the outside and re-flashed and I will lose everything on it.

A big thank you to Blackberry for a such upgrade impressive.  Twits.

You could have lost everything on it, but we'll see what we can do first.

    1. NEVER make the upgrages wireless without first making your own manual backup using the Desktop Manager. RIM needs to get this right, and I hope that they are listening.

2 try this on your device:

If your BlackBerry is still under tension turned off with a black screen, follow the instructions below. The only indication of life may be the flashing red indicator light in the upper corner. Nothing seems to wake and Desktop Manager does not recognize that a device is connected.

    (1) make sure that you have Blackberry Desktop Manager installed.
    http://NA.BlackBerry.com/eng/services/desktop/
    (2) on your PC, go to start > run and copy and paste the following line exactly (i.e. with quotation marks):

    'c:\program files\common research in motion\apploader\loader.exe' /nojvm

    (3) the Application Loader Wizard will appear - click on "next".
    (4) in the ' connection: ' drop-down menu, you should see "USB - PIN: UNKNOWN". Click on the button "next".
    (5) you should see a list of applications ready to be installed for your Blackberry. Press Next and finish, and that you are well on your way to get your Blackberry to life. Congratulations! Just unplug and let the process finish completely.

NOTE: If you do not display the list of applications mentioned in step 5 and instead to see the message "the Blackberry Desktop Software has no Blackberry Device Software for the device you have connected to the computer. Contact your wireless service provider or system administrator', then you must download the Blackberry operating system for your support and your device.
    http://www.BlackBerryFAQ.com/index.php/BlackBerry_Operating_System_Downloads
Just select the appropriate type of carrier and network, select your Blackberry model from the list and download the latest version. Install this download and follow the steps above again and you should be on the right track.

  • BlackBerry Curve 8520 - failure book smartphone address

    Hello

For some time now, I not was able to use my address book in the way that it should be possible, on my bb device.
All measures that are related to my address book does not work.

H.d. When I receive text message e, of a contact that is in my address book, but the person wasn't still in my Inbox of text before the AddressBook to fail, there is only the number of the person showed in the list of messages.

H.d. When I try to add a new contact in the address book by clicking "Add new contact" will nothing move. Nor did I add a new contact from a number stored in my recent calls.
When I try, in the address book to add a new contact several times, my attempts soon after the other, then the bb freezes and I need to reset it by pulling the battery.

At the beginning, when he started the Outlander, this problem, I saw an error message, don't know what it was, but I think it was this one: not managed by the net_rim_bb_addressbook exception (218)
I tried to fix it by resetting, several times, without result. Recently, I tried updating to the latest firmware, too with no success.

Now, I was searching in the modules and here attempt to restart all the associated address book, only, it is not really a way to do it. So, if someone can help me I would be grateful
