BlackBerry JDE or Eclipse environment?

I'm new on this. I developed the rational use and Oracle JDeveloper.

Should what environment I use?

Thank you

NetBeans is superior at the time, but on the two I would stick with Eclipse.  It's the future of this platform, as indicated by RIM.

  • Problem with string to Long in Blackberry JDE and Eclipse w / Blackberry plugin

    I'm trying to convery a string to a long use in a persistent store.  I'm following the doc of Blackberry on the process.  When I type the chain and right click on "Convert String to Long" is gray in Eclipse and the BB JDE.

     applepie

      String key = new string ("applepie");

      String key = "applepie";

    those are the means I m try in both environments.

    What I am doing wrong?

    There must be something simple.

    I'm probably not see the forest because of the trees.

    You must select this channel.

    first select the channel using the mouse (as when we do to cut or copy)

    After that right-click on this channel.

  • BlackBerry JDE contra Eclipse

    I have a structure very convinient in my BB JDE.

    I have 3 distinct classes and a small class of common definitions. I have a common plan for all 4, but they are separate, defined projects in the package because I need 3 .cod files. Import the shared class is simple since they are all in the same package. Very neat.

    I tested the JDE Eclipse and I find that it has many very good features. Now it does not seem possible to make a similar construction in Eclipse. The only way Eclipse allows me to build a package is in a project. And I must have separate projects to obtain separate .cod files. And so I find myself with separate packages. And simple import between different packages does not work.

    Am I missing something here?

    In Eclipse, packages are per project, you thought. What you can do (since you're using 1.1) is to create a single source folder and other projects have reference it.

    If it's a bit bulky you could tell then each project to ignore some source files so it compiles only those you want.

    Regarding importation, right-click on the project, choose Properties-> Java Build Path, then go to the tab projects and adds the common project. If you generate an ALX file, choose the BlackBerry_App_Descriptor.xml file and choose the tab generer generate at the bottom, select "Generate the files .alx file" and (after the common cod ALX file was triggered) choose Add under the "Desktop Manager deployment dependencies" and add the common cod ALX file.

    This will not be cod resulting in the same folder, but it will ensure that they compile properly and are properly configured.

    As a little extra, if you want the projects 'pretend' to be in the same group then you can create sets of work. To do this, right-click on a project and choose "Assign work sets..." "then on the bottom of the popup window click on 'Working configuration Package Explorer games' next select new, give it a name, select the projects that you want in this work the value and click Add. Close the popup windows and under Package explore select the small arrow pointing down (if you go over it, it should say 'View Menu' then to 'Higher level Elements' choose "Working Sets"

    This should help you close to what you were doing in the JDE.

    Hope that helps, if you have any questions feel free to ask.

  • How do you see the System.out.println (without using Eclipse and BlackBerry JDE)

    Hi all

    I just want to know if there is no solution to see System.out.println.

    I use neither Eclipse nor BlackBerry JDE for my development.

    I have my jar, jad files. I convert my jar file using the CAP tool. The .cod files are generated.

    I start the trainer. Now I have 2 windows: Windows Simulor and the output (see picture).

    Then I load my .cod files. But I see not all System.out.println ("...") in the output windows.

    How can I see these System.out.println ("...")?

    Please help me.

    But I have another problem:

  • BlackBerry JDE plugin for Eclipse

    I'm new to the Blackberry development.  The first thing I did was downloaded "BlackBerry_JDE_PluginFull_1.0.0.67.exe".  I followed the installation instructions and the process is stuck at the 'Installation' stage and never be able to complete the installation of the plug-in.  Then I downloaded "eJDE1.0.0.67_With_CP4.5.0.16.zip" and add the plugin Eclipse Software Update.  After Eclipse installation is complete, the "Blackberry" is added to the list of functions.  When I click on "Blackberry", only "installation Signature keys' shows.  The "signature of the query" and "Workspace to configure Blackberry" were gray outside.  I tried to search for the file with .cod on my pc and can not find.

    What should I do next to get the Eclipse environment for the development of Blackberry running?

    Emily

    I'm not sure I understand your questions, but if you try to create a new project of BlackBerry, go to file > New > project and select BlackBerry project. If you have an existing project, you can add it to your workspace by file > import, and then click BlackBerry project.

    To test the project, you can select "Debug as BlackBerry Simulator". To install the application on your phone, you must create the ALX file (right-click on the project and select "Generate ALX file") and then point the BlackBerry Manager to the Application loader in the ALX file.

  • trouble setting up Blackberry JDE and the JDE plugin Eclipse

    Can someone please tell me what I'm doing wrong here? I just downloaded blackberry JDE, tried to launch an example helloworld app that came with the IDE, but it keeps displaying error in the building.

    Then I tried to use the blackberry with eclipse plug-in. I downloaded the eclipse IDE, installed the plugin on the same folder as the eclipse IDE, and then when I click the icon blackberry on the eclipse toolbar, it asks me a key sigature... of course there must be something I am doing wrong.

    I tried some of the materials and videos on the site but you can't always find my way through...

    Would be happy if someone could take me through the steps. Thank you!

    Watch "install signature keys...". "I also see the"request for signatures"and"Manage workspace for blackberry", but it seems that I won't be able to click on one of them, until I do something about signing keys 'install '.

    No, don't worry about the "install key Signature...". "That will not matter until you want to run on a real device.  The "configure BlackBerry Workspace' is grayed out until you have a BlackBerry workspace to configure.  Yes, a bit strange, but that's the way it works.

    To do this, you will need to either import a file from workspace BB existing (.jdw) or a file existing project BB (.jdp), or to build a new BB project from scratch. You build a new project of BB with file-> New-> project, which opens a new project dialog box, and then select BlackBerry-> BlackBerry project and run the new project wizard.  But you probably just want to import the demonstration project you are trying to build.

  • Problems with getting new Eclipse environment is fully functioning.

    I have problems of implementation of the new Eclipse environment that RIM showed at the DevCon.

    Problems:

    -API docs are different from the JDE 5.0.0.  They lack all the stuff of OpenGL ES.

    -The Simulator for 9550 does not appear.

    -How can I get the reloading of the my app without stopping the Simulator work?

    I installed the following items, in this order:

    -BlackBerryJDE5.0.0.exe

    -V3.5.1). Galileo (eclipse-java-galileo-SR1 - Win32.zip)

    BlackBerry_JDE_PluginFull_1.1.1.200911020017 - 11.exe

    -BlackBerry_Simulators_5.0.0.334_9550.exe

    Thank you for the time spent.

    The 5.0 SDK BlackBerry Java plug-in for Eclipse is beta 4, while the BlackBerry JDE beta 5.  The Eclipse plugin currently has an older version of the API of BlackBerry set, which does not include the classes of OpengGLES.  See update in my next post.

    You must close the BlackBerry smartphone Simulator during reconstruction and debug your application.  This is mandatory for all current BlackBerry smartphone simulators.  Update an application without having to restart the Simulator part of a later version.

  • BlackBerry JDE Build Error - new installation - Hello World

    I'm new to the Blackberry development.  I was able to get Eclipse works without any problems whatsoever and I built a few sample programs and one of my own.  However, it seems to me that RIM Blackberry JDE has some nice features for the visualization of information specific to Blackberry batteries, memory statistics, etc. Then I tried to get the RIM Blackberry JDE 4.5 and 4.7 installed so I can revisit.  I had some problems installing a reason any.  I've gotten past these problems, but I'm starting to get the headache trying to build "Hello World".

    What would someone mind helping me resolve the error of next generation for 'Hello World '.  It will probably take something simple and I feel stupid, but I have to finish reviewing the RIM JDE so I can select my development environment and begin to develop.

    c.setRequestMethod (HttpsConnection.POST);

    System.out.println ("connection is open with the server");

    Get the response code is open the connection,

    Send the request and read HTTP response headers.

    The headers are stored until asked.

    RC = c.getResponseCode ();

    System.out.println ("response from the server" + rc);

    if (rc! = HttpsConnection.HTTP_OK) {

    throw new IOException ("HTTP response code:" + rc);

    byte data = new byte[len]; while ((bytesread! = len) & (real! = - 1)) {

    real = is.read (data, bytesread, len - bytesread);

    bytesRead += real;

    }

    } else {}

    if (c! = null)

    c.Close ();

    }

    catch (IOException ioe) {}

    }

    }

    }

    When I run this program in the Simulator, I can do nothing. Please correct me if I'm wrong in coding.

    As I am new to this blackberry JDE environment, ideas and suggestions on how to write and run the sample applications in the blackberry are more welcomed.

    Concerning

    Hinduja

    Make sure that your MDS starts when the Simulator starts.  In the JDE will in Edition > Preferences > Simulator > General and click the checkbox "launch Mobile Data System connection with Simulator Service.

    I found BlackBerry_Simulators_5.0.0.411_9000.exe available for download, but how do I install it is usable in eclipse?  Can I just install it in the right folder, and that everything will work magically? (after working on what the right folder is ofc).

    Or is it simply not possible and I should just run the simulator of 9000 outside any debugger?

    I have not tried. But if you run the Simulator with your application and you have open Eclipse. Trying to debug on this race sumulator: click on the drop down menu on the little green play button and choose "run as" and choose the Simulator running.
